Hello and welcome to my guide on how to theme LauncherPro so that it looks like Ice Cream Sandwich, the newest and best looking version of the Android OS.
DISCLAIMER: I take no credit for any icons, launchers, pictures, or anything else used in this guide. Everything belongs to their respective owners.
Before we begin, here are some things that you will need to download:
1. LauncherPro, the free version or the paid version will work just fine (this guide is intended for use on LauncherPro. I have not tested it on any other launcher)
2. Desktop Visualizer - Click here to download it for free from the Android Market
3. Download these Android 4.0 icons, extracted from the SDK by l0st.prophet. Images by Google.
4. Download the Android 4.0 clock widget for FREE here: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.icecreamsandwichclock.clock (Credit to developer juliojs) (This is optional)
5. Download the Google Search Widget image and App drawer icon at the bottom of this post. Add them to the folder of Android 4.0 icons to access them easier.
6. Download the dock background here: http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/928/hhhha.png
Add the folder(s) of images to the first level of your SD card / USB storage.
Steps:
Step 1: From your homescreen (while in LauncherPro), hit Menu, click Preferences, then click Appearance Settings. Choose Dock Background and choose Gallery if you are asked. Browse to the dock background linked above.
Step 2: Go back into the LauncherPro Preferences and restart the launcher. Your dock background should now have a white strip above the icons on your dock.
Step 3: Next, go to Preferences (by hitting Menu), choose Dock Settings, and then click Number of Docks. Set this to 1.
Step 4: On the homescreen, hold down on the 1st icon of the dock. Change it to the Phone app and when you get the popup to change the icon and name, change the icon to the Android 4.0 Phone icon, the big blue phone.
Step 5: Change the second dock icon to your Contacts application. Again, change the icon to the Android 4.0 Contacts icon.
Step 6: Now, the app drawer icon. Make sure the middle shortcut leads you to your app drawer. Hold down on the icon and click Change Icon, then click Custom icon. Browse to the proved app drawer icon.
Step 7: Change the 4th dock icon to your Messages application. Change its icon to the provided Android 4.0 Messages icon.
Step 8: Change the 5th dock icon to your Browser application. Change its icon to the provided Android 4.0 Browser icon.
Your dock should now look like this:
After you complete the dock, feel free to change more icons on your homescreen or change the dock to whatever you'd like. The above is only an example. Please note that this guide will not affect the look of your app drawer icons, only the icons you change on your homescreen. To change non-dock icons, remove the icon from the screen. Then, hold down on the screen, click Shortcuts, Applications, then choose the app. You then get the option to change the icon and name.
Now, lets set up the Google Search widget.
Step 9: Add a widget on your homescreen for "Desktop Visualizer 4x1" and click the box that shows up on your homescreen. When the options for the widget pop up, choose the icon button and browse to where you put the search widget icon. Choose the search widget icon. Make the "Select Action" launch the Google Search widget. Click the clear button next to "Label" and make the touch effect "None" and add the widget to the homescreen. (Download the Google Search widget picture from the bottom of this post)
Step 10: Add the Ice Cream Sandwich clock to your homescreen (optional).
Step 11: Go to Menu --> Preferences --> Appearance and uncheck "Show icon labels background". Restart the launcher.
Here's an example of what I did to my homescreen:
Step 12: Back up your homescreen settings and layout in the LauncherPro settings. The theming is now complete.
For an added ICS look, you can get the wallpapers from ICS by visiting the following link and downloading the wallpapers, courtesy of Android Police / P3Droid. Also, add other icons to your homescreen and change their icons to the Android 4.0 ones. Also, to change the icon of the app, you'll need to remove the icon from the homescreen, then when you re-add it, it lets you change the icon. Please note, this will not change the app drawer icons, only ones you CHOOSE to change on the homescreen and dock.
For the ICS lockscreen clock, check out this thread by xaffron: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1310766

Great tutorial. Definitely looks nice.

Thank you. Excuse my bad picture too. Hope it's not too hard to see!

Bumping the thread.

Here's some pics:
-Hercules grabbed my post, and threw it at your have to be read-

Looks awesome!
Gonna upload both colored strips for the dock tomorrow, blue and the stock white-ish gray from the leaked screenshots.

Gonna try to reorganize the thread later.

Updated with a better picture.

Anyone who can recommend a good set of launcher pro icons? Thanks! Just the one you download and install then apply.

Ok, updated the guide with a new link (for the 4.0 icons, clearer and more of them ) and a new dock background image.

Here's a tip.
Rename icons by creating a shortcut by long pressing homescreen. Choose an app and a picture then rename

That package does not contain the search widget image or the App drawer icon.

Just realized that, fixing that in a few, as well as overhauling all the steps.

Ok, added in the app drawer icon and the google search widget. Gonna re-type the guide now.

...and now the first post has been redone. Check it out!!

You wouldn't happen to have this wallpaper would you?

Aria Phone 7 Theme

"ARIA PHONE 7"
Presented by blackHoles&Hurricanes Tech&Music Blog
This is based off of the method of the Android Phone 7 Theme, but slightly different and made specifically for us Aria users, since we get no love. This will make your Aria look like a beautiful combination of Gingerbread and Windows Phone 7. There are twenty-six icons that are a combination of green, orange, and pictures in both sizes 1x2 and 3x1. You do not need to purchase Launcher Pro Plus to do this theme, they fit perfectly in Go Launcher without resizing, and you can change the dock, which is also included.
Icons included:
1x2:
Bank
Browser
Camera
Explorer
Facebook (Green)
Facebook (Orange)
Gallery
Gameboy
Kindle

I did not create the idea of Android Phone 7, this is only a port for us Aria users with new icons and a simplistic zip file that has everything you need in it. Here are screenshots:

Here's how you do it:
1. Download Go Launcher, Desktop Visualizer, and Minimalist Text.
2. Unzip the Aria Phone 7 file on your computer, and transfer the files to an SD card.
3. Launch Go Launcher and add a widget by long-pressing, then click Desktop Visualizer 1x2.
4. In Desktop Visualizer, select the 1x2 icon you would like to use, then link that icon to the application using the app, clear the text, and launch the widget.
5. Do the same process as many times as necessary until you have filled up as many homescreens as you'd like to use.
6. To change the dock, click Menu>Preferences>Dock Settings and check Customized Background, then click Select Dock Background.
7. Find the dock included in the zip file and select it.
8. Now go back to your homescreens and by long pressing on dock items, get rid of them all except for the app launcher. Long-press the app launcher icon and click Choose Icon, then choose the transparent.png file that is included.
9. Now that your dock is done, for the widgets on top, use Minimalist Text and tweak the app to your liking.
10. The last thing you need to do is change your background to the HTC black wallpaper, and ta-da, you are all done. Easy, huh?
Included in this zip are templates, 1x2 and 3x1 icons, the dock, and the transparent PNGs as well as a document detailing the colors & fonts used. All files are PNGs.
Sorry, I had to use Megaupload. It was, like, 30 MBs.

Too bad they aren't live tiles.
Yeah, I wish that were possible. This is better than the launcher you can download though.
Very nice.
Running this set up right now and love it

Thanks man. The only thing I don't like is how the dock turned out, very pixelated. Hmmmm.
Awesome!! Thanks a lot! I love the look of the Win 7 mobile, but really dislike the phones. This is so cool DLing now!
EDIT: I only have one issue; how do I get rid of the extra space used for the touch effect? This makes the home screen not uniform. :/
EDIT 2:I fixed it by setting it to 5x4
Yeah, that is what the dimensions are supposed to be, I think, haha. Thank you, though!

Very sweet....almost makes me want a windows 7 phone....yeah right, android all day baby... I do love this theme though!!
There are countless innovations of technology nowadays, also there is a fast pace of technology development even on phones. Sometimes, we don’t regard our phones as something important because of the existence of mobile phones.
Where can I find a download of Minimalist Text?

It's on the market. "Minimalistic Text".
Got it now. For some reason it wasn't showing up on the Market before.

[APP THEME] Ginger Green Handcent

Apparently, I was thinking of a different app. This one is free so apk included now, just install and fix the settings to your liking.
Since this is a paid app, I am only including the /res folders in this post.
1. use adb or droidexplorer to get your handcent .apk out of /data/app (adb pull /data/app/com.handcent.nextsms-1.apk)
2. merge this res folder with the one in your .apk through winrar/7zip/etc (be sure to use STORE method so it does not compress)
3. resign the apk through APKTool
4. push back to /data/app (adb push filename.apk /data/app)
5. adjust settings: Use Dark theme, Hero skin
Screenshots attached.
This theme is based off stock and some ideas taken from this thread.
I have modified many of the images in the conversation list, bubbles, and the widget to blend better with my current color scheme. This is my first theme/mod so let me know what you think. Comments/suggestions/requests welcome.

Sure, np . i pulled this out of an older ADW apk and just tinted it a bit green. For those wondering how i changed it :
1. longpress an empty area on your homescreen
2. Custom Shortcuts > Launcher Actions > Open/Close App Drawer
3. touch the icon in the upper left corner, then find where you saved this one.
4. drag the newly made shortcut down to your dockbar
To change the regular dock icons in ADW
1. Create the shortcut (longpress, create shortcut, applications, phone or whatever)
2. click on the icon (top left)
3. find new icon through gallery
4. drag the newly created icon wherever you want it in your dock
If you're wondering about the dockbar its from EspressoUI (Nest w/Slide) theme available for free through the ADW theme gallery.
EDIT: attached the icons as well in case you wanted those. If you have any requests for icons you would like in that style, let me know and ill do my best to make something that will suit your needs.

[Launcher Pro - Adw Theme] Faenza Icons Theme Porting HD [APK]

Hi! This is my first theme ever, basically a porting of the famous icon set for linux "Faenza". So, beside some applications icons created by me, all credits should go on the original creator: Tiheum!
Here is a preview of the result:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
To use this you'll need at least Launcher Pro 0.8.6 and the APK at the bottom of this page. The theme contains 84 icon app for now...I'll list them later so you can request more!
Usage:
Install the apk file attached with your favorite file manager or with adb;
Open the Launcher Pro Preferences and select the icon theme;
,
Lastest Changes:
Changelog for ver 3.01:
all icons are now optimized for XHDPI screens;
fixed lots of activities;
lots of icons added;
added compatibility to Apex Launcher;
Changelog for ver 2.12:
-reverted to the old png system due to some crash with launcher pro;
-fix: words with friends, google video, flashlight;
Full Changelog Here
Submitting request:
If you want to submit a request for a "paid app" icon please attach the "Activity" name (using DDMS on Android SDK) following this video guide or use LauncherPro's "Activities" shortcut list to get these names (sometimes didn't work for me).:
Since I'm very new of android icon porting feel free to suggest, request and critics!
Please Note: If you are upgrading from 1.05 to 2.x version, or installing trough the android market, please remove the old one and once installed re-select the theme in Launcher Pro preferences.
Download the donate app on market!
or on attachment!
If you like this project and wish to support it just press the "thanks" button!

Try "change shortcut" keeping the default icon at the end with theme enabled.
I have like a thousand requests, and I can provide the activity name and in most cases even the icon. In fact, I'm using Faenza here on my OpenSuSE desktop, loving it on my phone but your package needs lots of HTC apps to be usable here.

T-Mobile G2 compatibility
I love the Faenza icons and I'm currently using them on my linux box so thanks for porting this over to Launcher Pro! I was wondering, when I try to install this app using the market (3.0.26) it doesn't have an "Install" button, but the page exists. I decided to go to market.android.com and try to install it using my PC from there. It says that :
This app is incompatible with your T-Mobile HTC T-Mobile G2.
T-Mobile HTC T-Mobile G2
This item is not compatible with your device.
I don't see why an icon pack which is for Launcher Pro wouldn't be compatible with my device, if you know what I can do about this please let me know, I would love to use your theme. Thanks!
Nice icon set. Currently using it on Launcher Pro in my SGS.
Thanks!

I made this theme after I saw the Dark Pie UI Super Boss Style setup... loved the concept but found their setup to be more "involved" so to speak... I created my own version completely from scratch only using the idea of the original. Placed things where i wanted them placed and setup so that the end user can actually customize it a bit more than just having my EXACT setup... Everything is included in the .zip including instructions in the README file in case u don't feel like opening this thread again lol...
While the idea was based on Dark Pie UI... The imagery and colors were solely based off of my "GCS - CM9 Theme Chooser" theme which you can get more info from here... If you want to know the next color combo or direction, just look my signature for my other themes... (hint, SCS will be the next color setup for this)
I will do my best to update the 2nd post of this thread with added icons and/or requests as well as ALL DOWNLOADS... And alternate versions of this setup...
THIS WORKS ON ANY ICS/JB ROM provided you can install the below apps!
Apps needed to complete this theme:
Code:
[B]Apex Launcher Pro[/B] - http://tinyurl.com/apexprogcr
or
[B]Nova Launcher[/B] - http://tinyurl.com/novagcr
and
[B]UCCW[/B] - http://tinyurl.com/uccwgcr
Code:
Hex Colors Used
Dark Blue: #FF1245e0
ICS Blue: #FF33b5e5
Red: #FF750005
Purple: #FF9400f0
Pink: #FFff00ff
**The Sources folder contains the .xcf (gimp-sorry no .psd) files to edit any graphics and also fonts.**
Directions for Apex Launcher:
Code:
1) Download and install Apex Launcher Pro. Has to be Pro because of the widget overlay.
2) Download and install UCCW
3) Connect your phone via USB
4) In the /sdcard directory copy over all of the folders except the "Sources" folder. Merge the folders if it asks.
5) You now have everything ready to setup. (just wanted to add a step lol)
6) Go to your gallery and in the "GCR_Wallpaper" folder you will see the main wallpaper. You have to crop it as big as it can go and as low as it can go then hit "Crop".
7) Start by opening Apex Settings and click on "Backup & restore" and restore the "settings" and "desktop data"
8) Hit Home button and let it refresh.
You should now have only ONE homescreen and some icons that don't really appear to be icons on the homescreen. Along with a "7x5" layout.
9) Add a "1x2" UCCW widget to the middle of the square. When it opens select "GCR_Clock" and then hit the back button.
The Clock should appear and be themed with the colors already. Longpress to resize and pull the right side over one column and do the same on the left and pull down one.
Should be "3x3" now. If not, play around with it til it is.
10) Add a "5x1" UCCW widget just under the "05 Current Conditions" part of the screen. When it opens, restore to "GCR_Weather" and back out.
After it sets on the screen you will need to longpress and resize this one pulling it down one row. Should be "5x2" now. Adjust your settings to work for your area if you need to.
11) Edit the folders with your own desired apps.
12) You now have the GCR Homescreen setup :)
Optional Lockscreen setup. This one is a bit more tricky if your ROM doesn't support custom lockscreen images. In fact i have no idea how you would get this one lol
Code:
1) In your ROM settings look for your "Lock Screen" or similar. Then select it.
2) Select "Background" and choose custom image.
3) Navigate to the "GCR Wallpapers" folder and selct the lockscreen of your choice. For a smidge more customized, select the "GCR_lock_wallpaper_Sprint" image if you have Sprint.
4) YES the green is there so u know not to scale to that area. Crop the image so that its starting from the very top and it's touching both sides.
5) Select Crop
6) Hit the power button
7) Hit the power button again to see the beautiful creation :)
**note: don't unlock it to keep looking at the awesomeness**
If anyone tries this and gets it working with Nova Launcher... Please lmk here with your setup instructions for that launcher!
**Disclaimer**
all statusbar images and custom app icons on the lockscreen are included when you try the Free version of my GCS - CM9 Theme Chooser, theme found on the Play Store... Click the link above for details on that theme!! Sorry only works with Theme Chooser!!

nope... this works with ANY ROM... i had it on a JB (4.1) port that i was running earlier... read the disclaimer on the bottom of post 1 for full details!
love it
thanks
i'll take a few requests for icons to add to the bottom and will try to provide a link for that folder on db so you all can grab whatever you need... i can also walk you guys through how to make your own icons so that i'm not the one doing all the work here haha...
for example... i made this "Settings" icon as well (included in original .zip) and just changed the icon on the desktop to reflect the new app...

unfortunately that is part of the wallpaper... i can edit the original image really quick but i don't have a settings image to replace that one with... unless you want me to delete that part of the wallpaper and then just leave it blank so you can add the settings icon??
btw, i updated the 2nd post with a link to a db folder that will always have the latest wallpapers for this!!

Read the directions in the op... #4 specifically... I never mentioned anything about uzip...
That entire uccw folder gets copied over to your sdcard... the proper directories for the specific backups for the clock and weather are in that folder already...

Are you going to do a remix for SCS as well? I would love this in the SCS colors.

(I don't have the time to write all instructions at once so please be patient, I'll update this post during the day.)
[My english is very rusty. If you want to suggest improvements and corrections drop me a PM]
If you want your zenfone 2 to look the same as mine you have to change a significant amount of things.
Some changes requires root or particular extensions but nothing is mandatory and you may decide to follow only some steps of my instructions.
From what I've read and from my experience steps 1-2-3-4-5-6 will not have any significant impact on battery life or performance while steps 7-8-9 (which are related not only to appearance) should improve your battery life.
So....assuming that you begin with your stock Asus Theme....let's start!
1.Set Wallpaper
Wallpaper Link (credits to TOBIAS ROETSCH)
In order to simplify the process, I suggest to apply it from the Asus Homescreen>>Long tap on empty space >> wallpaper >> Home and lockscreen.
PS As you can see in my screenshots, my wallpaper is slightly different from the one available on the link and this is because I've added a little of stars on top and a little of dark on the bottom. I'm not posting my version because I'm waiting for the authorization of the autor but my work is only a little of raw copy and paste...
2.Change DPI
This smartphone has a beautiful and wide screen but the icons and the status bar were way too big for me...it looked like a toy with big buttons and magnified textboxes..
First install ADB (there are plenty of installing guide on the net. If you don't have time to read all that stuffs I've found an installer here on XDA but I didn't tried it before, let me know if it works good ADB installer link).
Then follow this guide and change DPI (it uses ADB): http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/tip-adjusting-dpi-root-t3098690
I suggest to try with DPI between 360 and 400 (default is around 480). Mine is 380.
Give it a try, for me this is the most important change for a better aspect of our Zenfone. If you are not happy it is completely and easily reversible as explained in the second guide.
PS Be aware that a few apps show some strange behavior with custom DPI. Known issues:
-some third party keyboards show bigger and unusable keys [The stock Android and Asus keyboards work fine]
-Whatsapp cannot cut images before sending it [but I cut them before with the editor of the gallery].
3.CHANGE LAUNCHER
You can also continue without substituting launcher but then you will not be able neither to change all your icons nor to perfectly stretch your widgets.
I didn't want to change launcher but in the end I was forced to install an otherone for 2 main reasons:
- with the stock launcher you are not allowed to change all icons (even with the preinstalled Asus app).
- with the stock launcher you cannot manage the grid of homescreen where you put widgets
I've installed Nova Launcher.
4.ICON PACK
The icon pack I'm using is called "flight" (or "Volo") and it's available on the play store.
I've bought the complete version but the free version does perfectly its job.
Apply the theme and then manually change all the icons that were not automatically replaced (if the icon of your app is not available choose one you like from the hundreds of icons available).
PS I've used "flight icon pack" but there are a lot of black and white minimal icon pack available on the play store....just look for "black and white icon pack" or similar.
Just some hints:
- white icons whit round background >> "Gel - Icon Pack"
- minimal white icons >> "Min - Icon Pack"
[coming soon]
5.WIDGETS
First screen: no widget, only icons.
Second screen: Jack's music widget. (I've tried Universal Music Widget but it crashes all the time)
Third screen: Stock Asus Meteo Widget
Forth screen: Simple Calendar Widget (it is fully customizable and I'm working to get an even better look.)
Fifth screen: no widget, only icons.
If you have patience and time and want to produce similar widgets you will also like "zooper" or "minimalistic text" (available on the play store).
[coming soon]
6.ORGANIZATION
[coming soon]
7.[root required]EXTENSIONS
I've used extensions to:
-remove battery icon from statusbar
-add network speed information on statusbar
-add seconds to the clock on the statusbar
-add a download bar integrated on top of the statusbar
-add useful buttons and features to the power menu
-improve battery performance
[coming soon]
8.[root required]GESTURES
With the use of a third party launcher you will loose the double tap to sleep feature but not the double tap to wake.
I've used third party gestures software in order to restore this features and add other useful gestures.
[coming soon]
9.OTHER
-change whatsapp background with this one (open a chat in WA and then options>>background)
[coming soon]

Please, post link of theme. I like it.
nice theme
Ok!
It's not a "real theme" because I've modified dpi, changed the aspect of the status bar and other things that one cannot change with a simple "theme".
I'm going to edit my first post and add instructions. Follow all the steps and you will get the same results.
Double tap
Do you lose the double tap wake/sleep functions when you use another launcher?
yes den u need to use status bar to make it sleep

The double tap to wake is always available.
The double tap to sleep can be restored using Nova Launcher itself (double tap on status bar or double tap on home button if associated to greenify) or any other gestures third party app. However I'll write down all the different workarounds I've found...
I've seen 2 interesting xposed modules that can change the icons and the grid on home.
I'm going to test them. If they work there is no need to change the stock launcher.
