[Q] <>This far from throwing my Galaxy S through the window! Pls Help!!

Can anyone help?
My Galaxy S froze today, as I reset it by taking the batt off, it would get past the loading Galaxy S screen.
I cannot get it either into recovery or download mode, i have tried every combo you can, dropped batt and in whilst holding buttons, I have tried inserting pc usb whilst doing the same, surely if its loading its recoverable, not sure about this jig thing??
Would rather fix it now!

Some phones didn't have recovery or download mode working from factory. Mine was like that but applied a fix just in case to avoid any future problems such as yours.
Seems like a jig is your only hope now. They go pretty cheap on eBay but if you can't wait then you can make one youself if you know how.

Plug phone into PC, if it still works you can force it into recovery or download mode by using ADB

Since this is the OP's first post, it might be a good idea to include a link to where ADB is explained.

The jig is cheap on eBay. I was hesitant of getting one when I was on eClair, but it has worked each and every time that I've used it.
Just find a seller that has sold a few with positive feedback, but yeah I got into download mode no problem using it where I was "totally locked out" before like where you are at...

Ignore the jig options because it is stupid and the adb option is better and easy! Search it to activate download and recovery then flash a gingerbread rom then galnet, you'll then wanna make sweet love to your galaxy

I was in the same situation a year ago, I couldn't make jig and it would take a nother day so I did the following:
Took a hairdryer , took the batt out of the phone, and used the hairdryer on the phones back(where the batt should be), then I think I placed the batt back, and applied the hairdryer again and it went into download mode !
If this doesn't work, just make or get a JIG, if you don't trust it , take ya phone to a Samsung Service Center (I'm lucky there's one 10km from my house)

The JIG is the best solution here!! it worked for me personally..not long ago!!! YESTERDAY!!! n thats the best 0.99$ dollars av ever spent...

solved my problems!!

+1 for ADB method, JIG is fine too but it's unnecessary if your PC can detect the phone when plugged in through the USB port, plus the JIG takes time to ship

dude!! i made a JIG in 10 mins!!

And ADB method takes less than a minute, plus, not everyone has resistors lying around the house.

Actually if the soldering points are fine its very simple. All you need is a little patience since youll be dealing with very small and very sensitive solder points. You need at least desoldering braid and a good and thin solder tip. Be careful, right now im dealing with a Cappy that someone tried to fix that same problem and he ripped the solder contacts from the motherboard. But if youre patient enough youll be able to do it quite easily. Good luck on that M8!

So I have look into it and I am not waiting to try to replace this power button myself. I had got this phone for free and I am wanting to find out if someone can replace the power button for me and the hole housing and for how much? I am wanting to sell this phone with all that done if it worth the money

[Q] ANYONE out there where to get a new charging port cable?

anyone out there know a place or website where i can get a new charging port flex cable that will actually work with out problems.
my original one didnt charge right unless i bent it backwards a little
i bought 3 off ebay and had problems with each
1st one off ebay had no sound
2nd one had no service
3rd one didnt charge at all.
the original one was a REV 1.0 connector and so were the others, so if anyone knows where to get one that will work with no problems let me know

Don't know about OP, but I'm in the US, having the same issue. Went through 2 orders of 2 cables each from tmart, and sound doesn't work on any of them. I get a click when sound should start playing & nothing else.
I don't care to deal with ebay, due to shady sellers, limited return policy & price gouging ($36 for a flex cable? really?)

That looks like a USB cable. Pretty sure OP is referring to a flex cable, which is also what I need. Looks like this.

watchstrap and speaker

hi...i haved a problem with speaker of galaxy gear and i opened the speaker part and i've broken the flat cable of the speaker....is possible to order only a new whatchstrap with speaker...where i can order it ?????????? please respond me !!!!!:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:

first of all, why would you bother opening 300$ watch that is still on warranty and try to fix it yourself?
i doubt you will find that flat cable available anywhere. i guess you could have try to put it together and try to apply for a replacement at samsung center...

Awh man no good. I just looked around and saw nothing. You might have to call them and maybe send it in. I doubt the repair would be covered by the warranty now

Consider this a lesson learned. You might check ebay or craigslist for a used/trashed one to see if you can scrounge the band.

Can you tell me though, how you removed the band?

No worries just call sprint and tell them it was crushed while working. Simply scratch up the speeker and your done. Please dont say you opened it up for any reason.. almost forgot. Completly reassemble the watch. Your good trust me

hardbricked phone. sent to service.

i hardbricked my phone when flashing. my first hardbrick over 2 years.
anyway. i sent to service. i suppose they cant see custom rom counter. and repair.
what is gonna happen can they notice?

I've read your previous post. Seems like you had flash a lot, at least 10 flashes right? Had you ever reset your flash count? Like using Triangle away?
I don't know if the centre can reboot to system, but even by using USB JIG, you can reach download mode, which will show flash count and device status(official or custom).
But if only they can get to download mode. So lets hope they wont.

hope my motherboard fried lol. but as far as i know when they put that jig. count resets. lets hope for best. or im stuck with lg optimus sol for a while. damn i miss my phone

Not sure if all device will reset the count when using Jig, but it didn't on s3 mini, s4, and galaxy grand duos. I have 1, home made, tried on those phone. It work, just didn't reset the bin count. But maybe its different from the phone centres Jig. Lets hope your board totally fried.

they sending back without repairing it. as i espect atleast there is no problem on hardware. can usb jig wake up phone to download mode? i found one and want to buy.

Sure it can, thats the only thing it can do actually.
If the centre can wake your phone, I believe jig would work in it. Lucky you.

yeah. i dont want to buy a new phone. i found a usb jig works on s2 s3 note note2 etc. is there a chance to work on s3 mini too?

AFAIK it will works, as long the resistor is in the phone range(mine is 300ohm) it'll work on s3 mini. Take you straight to Download mode.

after 2-3 weeks. i finally got my s3mini back alive. official service didnt do anything(shame) and i took it to a unofficial service with jtag. they ressurrected my s3mini. btw usb jig didnt work.
im finally back to the xda comm. gonna try 12.1
