Please note: This ROM is far from being functional, it's still in development, I'll update this thread with news as soon as I see it. For now, it's a good ROM to mess around with and see what you can expect in further builds.

~ Key Mapping Fixed
~ DRM issue fixed ( Market would hang trying to Download an App )
~ Data Working with Network Changes, No need to run other Fixes
~ APN fixed
~ Galaxy Nexus Boot animation
~ init.d supported
~ My Version of Deep Idle built into the kernel
Please consider donating to Eugene for his work or any other i9000 dev that's worked on this.
Optional Modems: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1110500
Note: You can only mount in recovery for now.
What works:
- Hardware Acceleration
- Audio
- Calls, SMS, 3G (With a ugly patch but it works, read below.)
- Touch
- Wifi (Might be broken on this.)
- SDCards (internal and external)
- Market
- Contacts sync
- Calendar sync
What does not work:
- Bluetooth
- GPS
- Camera
- Video Recorder
- More stuff?
How to install:
1. Make sure you're on CM7 or MIUI.
2. Make a Nandroid backup.
3. Format data/factory reset.
4. Wipe Cache.
5. Flash the ROM.
6. It'll reboot you into recovery again and continue flashing your ROM. (It's replacing your CWM with a MTD one.)
7. Once it's done, you'll most likely get stuck and it won't boot. Pull the battery, boot into recovery and flash it again.
8. This time, reboot your phone when it's done and it should boot up.
9. Enjoy.
So we start off, ofcourse we need some files & requirements:
- The voicesearch fix (http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...0&d=1321887896 )
- Calendar fix (http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...2&d=1321829419 )

- Many more people that have contributed to this.

First!!! Thanks for taking the time to do this and update the progress. Hopefully we will get some more devs on this. Oh and if you need any help let me know. I'm no master, but I have flashed every freaking rom you can think of plus I am very tech.

Please put solving touch screen bug on top priority.
Carry on!!

Update! Read OP.

Nice update.. Sums it up very well as current situation for ICS on Vibrant..

Wow I can't believe I got radio connection with eugenes kernel.. We are getting progress.. However the touchscreen problem is worse then the i9000 updated kernel. So we need to fix this somehow.

Hm, mind uploading everything together like you have it? So, it'd be easier for people to flash.
By the way, Eugene posted his source for that kernel, right?
And so did the i9000 kernel guy.
Github:
http://github.com/onecosmic
http://github.com/syndtr
Can we merge parts of it that are needed, or..?

I am thinking the same thing you are my friend and yes I am uploading what I have flashed as well.. I am so suprised that my phone was giving me text messages however the touchscreen isn't working well enough to text back,,. However I did manage to text some gibberish to someone so it is sending and receiving.. How to fix touch so I can play with it some more..
HERE WE GO... AGAIN I WILL SAY TOUCHSCREEN IS BACK TO THE 2 FINGER METHOD UNTIL FIXED. RADIO WORKED FOR SMS. YMMV

Thanks, will update OP in a bit, I'm going to try sumfin.

Alright sweet.. I'm excited where is Eugene or these other guys maybe we can get a decent kernel updated with the touch fix.

Awesome thread!!!!! Installing now!!!

3G Now to get this touchscreen tweaked up a bit..

Who all is helping on this rom? Sure looks nice would want to try once touchscreen works
Sent from my HTC Glacier using xda premium

Step 1 Install http://www.multiupload.com/1N4UEQKOC1 md5: 5b6918145c3b0ae90a50264da29cbe94
Step 2 Flash this kernel: http://www.multiupload.com/L4AX7P4R20 <--- you can still flash this to get touchscreen working AFTER you flash the 1st one.
You will have working Calls/SMS/3G/Touchscreen on ICS for your vibrant.
No HW acceleration yet.. Colors are inverted so it is orange and not blue, etc.. Can't use any google apps, download from market fails everytime. It is a start but not a daily driver by any means.
Thanks to onecosmic he built it on the i9000 and we ported it over. Updates will come as more progress completes.

Maybe we should PM Eugene and ask him to make a kernel with the fixed touchscreen.

He wouldn't have to make a new kernel but instead just change the touch drivers on his current one.

The I9000 kernel booted on my vibrant, I flashed the original vibrant version of the Ics port with the miui boot.img and modem, then flashed the I9000 kernel and it booted , seems like the only difference between this and the I9000 is the ramdisk maybe not the kernel, I tried it before the updated kernel with working 3g and phone so I'll try again
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App

Im running the new version with working calls and SMS etc. its actually pretty cool but im getting no internal sound during calls have to put it on speaker to hear the call its still nice to be able to make calls now though
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium

Touchscreen is working fine in the kernel I posted.. Let me update it.
However the internal phone speaker isn't working during calls you have to put on speaker. Never tested the microphone yet. Maybe someone else has input on that.

[ROM][PORT] Juwe's Smart Edition v1.9 XWJS8 (Updated 3/21/11)

This is my port of this awesome I9000 rom for our vibrants.
Use this at your own risk. Always make a backup before flashing.
Original Rom post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964672
Install:
It doesn't matter if you are coming from a fresh Odin or not, you want a clean install so follow the install steps.
Download the rom and move to your sdcard.
1) Boot into recovery and Wipe Data/Factory Reset Before You Move On.
2) Flash Rom.Juwe_SmartEdition_v1.5_Wipe.zip.
3) While still in recovery: Wipe Cache Partition then inside the advanced menu: Wipe Dalvik Cache and Fix Permissions.
Just These Three Steps, Do Not Factory Reset Again.
JUST DO IT !!!, DON'T QUESTION IT - THIS PROCESS HAS PROVEN TO BE THE BEST GUARANTEE OF A SMOOTH FLASH.
Reboot Your Phone.
# First boot takes quite some time!
# After it has booted up the Setup-Wizard will start! Don't touch your device for the next 5 minutes !!!
# Connect to google with your gmail-account
# Wait until your device has completely synchronized up with Google.
# To gain the full performance you have to open up all apps one by one, this will ensure that enough time has passed since background processes will take about 15-30mins to complete, Then restart your device.
Enjoy!

So is there anything not working correctly on this? I dont really use 2.2.1 roms myself yet, but does it have that problem of the messages going in the call log or whatever? There is a few other problems that are specific to 2.2.1 port roms, does this have all those issues do you know?

Howdy folks, if you have been keeping up with this thread since page one, you will have noticed that I myself have been working on a port of Jetpack 5.2
After hours of googling and following instructions using dsixda's Android Kitchen, I have cobbled together a booting, non-FCing, rather nice rom. Smooth and sexy even. But, some prerequisites before getting your flash-happy mitts on it;
- Must be on GB Bootloaders. Otherwise, expect rainbows in the dark
- This port is based off of 5.2 No-Wipe. Therefore you must wipe data/cache/dalvik on your own before flashing.
- The kernel is Bullet JVP 1.2GHz (6/24/11 revision)
- After flashing, do not reboot yet. You must apply the Wififix.zip to fix the JVS broken wifi.
- And as a personal note, I like to top off my flashing session with Juwe's RAM Optimization Script
- And 1 dose of Fix Permissions
- Reboot, I suppose let'er sit for 10 minutes, and reboot again. Enjoy the smoothess.
Cliff's notes install method (if you're not on GB bootloader)
- Flash the GB bootloader

If you have Gingerbread Bootloaders installed and you end up ODINing to stock (JFD), you will notice it changes the bootsplash to I9000. You can either reflash a GB bootloader again, or simply use the ODIN package above to do so.
- Root your phone and install cwm
- Then wipe data/cache/dalvik
- Flash Jetpack.5.2.Vibrant.test.zip
- Flash Wififix.zip
- Fix Permissions
- Reboot
- After 10 minutes, reboot again
EDIT: (Currently, I have discovered that only Youtube and Flash need a delete/reboot sequence for proper installs) It seems that the Gapps suite was not signed correctly, and thus will not update normally from the market. What you can do is open up /system/app in Root Explorer, delete the Gapps, then reboot and download them manually from the market.
Now then, I do not intend to take away kevho00's thunder with this, but I am just posting my own working port until he gets the chance to tweak this port for better out-of-the-box performance.
Though if kevho00's uploading problems persist, with his graces I wouldn't mind taking up the mantle of temporary port caretaker. I do what I can for the community I love.
And now for the part you have all been waiting for;

Welcome to the most advanced sgs2 rom ever made, ever! After hours of trial and error I have finally gotten this to work on our vibrant.
Original thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1032599
Screenies
this rom is a real port of galaxy SII sources !!!
MORE THAN 25 applications
THIS ROM is very very very stable & smooth
New Version Premium 4
Updated to JVT (Deodexed, zipalined, rooted)
All Framework and applications zipaligned, optimized PNG, and compressed to save space ( more than 230 MB)
SMS fixed (silent mode FC)
Contacts glitch wiped
3D fix no more blur
Phone.apk with no-increasing ringtone
CLEAN TouchWiz Lockscreen Mod (thanks to Bo$s)
Sgs2 settings removed
CRT animation + glow effect
SGS2 theme
NEW TW4
NEW MMS application
Heavy package of SGS2 applications
WiFi scan interval to save battery
more..............
Here is an updated version of Hawkish that should be faster and have the root issue fixed. The root thing was messed up because the updater-script did not specify to install busybox. Also, I fixed the bootloops issue because the rom was too big and I guess it only worked if you flashed from a specific point. I removed Post-it and the polaris office libs (the app was not even there). I also put in the new xcaliburinhand kernel but you can change that if you like.
Download: I have stopped updating this rom. For new updated version look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=18437178
Thanks to Ali1276 for the new version, thank him, not me!
FEATURES:
updated to JVS
Bullet 1.4 kernel
new lib and bin files from the new sgs2 epic (Rom running very fast)
optimized all framewok files
Fixed call setting
New applications from SGS2 epic ( TW4, swype, samsung keyboard, voice to go, google books...
sgs2 updated applications:
calendar
MMS
Gallery 3D
Email with more theme
Mini paper
talk 2
News and weather....
original JVS theme with sgs lockscreen
optimized ping...
Required downloads
1. A VIBRANT JVR Rom( ex: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1169800
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR BRICKED PHONES, EXPLODING DEVICES ECT....
You can go installing this as you please but I managed to flash this in the weirdest way. A pain in the ass but it works ( well for me at least).
This is for experienced users only. Don't attempt if you are n00b
Weird ass installation:
1. STOCK
2. Flash JVR rom
3. Wait
4.Reboot, flash this rom
5.Boot, wait about 15 minutes.
Bugs:
You may flash Talon. Might get a FC but its all good. Voodoo color!
Dialer fc ( disable audible touch tones in setting/sound)
POst anymore!
Fixed bugs(NEW)!:
Wifi fix
MMS fix
No more force closes! Except the dialer one, that is easily fixed.
Here is how I achieved root:
1. SuperOneClickRoot (found in the vibrant bible thread)
2. Run the program and it will get stuck at step5/6
3. Wait a min or 2 then just reboot the phone (leave it connected to USB)
4. After it reboots it will finish rooting.
After that I was able to easily restore using Titanium Backup and I've had no issues with root since.
Thanks to smali26!

I have a Vibrant, but in the next week I have a choice of a Gal S2 or HTC Amaze, they are both very simular other then Amled screen. Is there a reason i should choose 1 over the other, the price is free for either one.
Wrong place to ask there is a forum for this but i would say galaxy s2 for mw because of screen storage an the new touch wiz touch wiz is the best ui add on to android it is very light weight an optimized

[P6800][ROM](Update 07/23/12) QuickSilverCM 0.3 - Full CyanogenMod 9 + Tweaks

QuickSilverCM - CyanogenMod 9
This ROM is now rebased to locerra's CM9 sources. I fixed Bluetooth, removed a few Apps and added Chrome and init.d as well as build.prop tweaks. It can be flashed directly over HC or other ROMs as it is bringing its own kernel along but a wipe is most likely needed if coming from another ROM.
What does not work
- Video Hardware Acceleration for some Video types [I fixed a lot of the codecs and ported over missing hardware ones from the Stock, but there are still a few left non-working. Please use BS Player or VPlayer. MxPlayer removed a lot of stuff in their newest release because of licensing issues and ATM it is for example not able to play DTS Audio (which breaks most of my mkv files). It also seems to have problems with mp3 encoded audio tracks. I use BS Player, because VPlayer crashes, but both play all files I threw at them just fine. For streaming BS Player is best, because it is the only one with really working LAN browse capabilities. With most of the new Version of those players you do not need to care about the Codec,]
- Front Camera Recording (Does not crash anymore, but does not work either, because something in the settings format changed, that needs to be fixed)
- Bluetooth A2DP [from reports seems still not fixed]
- Mass Storage over USB Adapter (working on it)
What works
- Everything else AFAIK
Installation
- Make a Nandroid
- Download QuickSilverCM and Gapps (Gapps here)
- Boot into recovery
- !!!WIPE!!!
- Install QuickSilverCM first
- then Gapps
- reboot
- Have fun with your bloatfree GTab

I dont want to sound negative or ungreatfull, but why release something when it's not fully functional. The items on the "not working" section seem to be important. If i where the developer, by the way i am not nor do i know code but IF I WERE,i would release it only when the major items are 100% working. I have flashed both original Samsung Galaxy S and original Galaxy Tab many times in the past, and have found that no custom rom is 100% fully functional. I appreciate the innovation but many times i have found it to be more of a pain than an improvement. I am running ICS and after this update i am looking forward to hopefully get JB for the Google Now function. Even if ICS source code is release and someone manages to cook something up with the already released JB source code there will always be something that does not work 100% no matter how hard one tries. I have come to the conclusion that only official firmwares are the way to go. Nevertheless good luck and keep up the good work. Once again not trying to be disrespectfull, that was not my intent. If i have disrespected anyone i appologize in advance but i believe i may not be the only one to think this way.

Because some of us actually like to tinker with this kind of stuff regardless of what does or doesn't work and which he clearly posted.
Every phone has CM9 threads and none of them are 100% functional as of yet.
Nice job on the release. :good:
Can i restore data from cwm after flashing this rom?
Sent from my GT-P6800 using XDA Premium HD app
WHy release a beta ? Well, because the community willl help make it final. Should the op really go through all scenario's himself?
That would take valueble time, otherwise well spent on other things. It's a community thing, you get it, or you don't
I really liked your previous quicksilver efforts, so I'll probably get this, but as an Android newbie, can someone answer a question for me. If I'm going to be running Apex Launcher anyway, what benefit does CM9 bring over a more minimal rom?

What did you do to fix this? Just use the stock kernel + modules? Neither of your links are working for me so I can't look at what you did.
- 3G
- Camera (front/back)
- Gyroscope
- Rotation
- Calls (But UI is broken ATM, so you are not able to hang up a call)
What does not work
- Bluetooth (working on it)
- Automatic Backlight dimming

Probably as simple as using /system/lib/hw/lights.exynos4.so from the stock rom. I haven't gotten around to fixing the opensource liblights for the PX boards.
- A few minor crashes in Settings -> Storage
- Mtp (also working on it)

Good luck with that, samsung implemented their own MTP driver in the kernel that they use, but you have to use the ASOP MTP driver to work with CM.

FEEDBACK
is welcome aslong as your respectful and have followed these simple rules:
1. Try everything you can, find solutions for yourself. Wipe caches, revert all your settings you have made, go back to your stock Kernel, factory reset if you have to or reflash the rom. Assume that the issue is on your side and try your best to isolate it.
2. Search this thread and Cyanogenmods aswell (its our base) for possible reoccurences of your issue and hopefully solutions that may have come up.
3. If you think the issue is important enough that we should cease our work and look into it, post your issue, BUT ...
... stay friendly, do not demand anything, do not threaten
... explain your issue as precise as you can, name the exact apps and conditions that cause trouble, help us to replicate the issue right away. If we can't there's no way we can fix it and your post will simply clutter the thread
... collect evidence, keep in mind this is a developer thread so even if you are not one, do us the favor and research how to record logcat. logcat is the single most important help you can give us to resolve your issue.

Am I the only one with the sound problem, fixed my turning on GPS?
I mean, not really a problem, just checking.
First I would like to thank Jaime again for breath our galaxy note not just with CM 10 but far more then we could have hoped for by bringing all the DPI hacks of paranoid android. You are truly a gentleman and a scholar. With that said.............
I also ran into a bug when it came to the SD card. The external card isn't being read. Also when trying to restore my backups from titanium backup which are stored on my external sd . Once I press menu the phone freezes and is only use able when u do a restart.
Overall a very solid ports with minor bugs which should be expected from an initial release. Thanks again Jaime

nope havent been able to since ICS or GB. there are a few ways to do it though, look up "facebook sync jellybean" or something along those lines
Been using this ROM for a few hours and have no problems with it.
Only thing I noticed is its slow in sketchbook mobile. Not laggy or skippy but just follows your styles or fingers incredibly slow. About 1 second slower from you touchdown to draw. In ICS its about instantaneous.
Could this be a hwa issue or just the fact that jb needs a bit more resources than ICS?
Just a minor observation that won't really affect anyone except those of us who draw constantly, but even then, its easy to live with because I won't be moving away from this ROM. I'm loving it.
