Sensation XL Audio Issue - HTC Sensation XL

Hi all
I recently got the Sensation XL, absolutely amazing phone. But I've encountered a slight bug/fault. I'm not sure if it's just with my device or with everyone's.
The issue:
If I'm listening to music with the Beats Audio enabled and I receive a notification of any sort the beats audio disables itself, but still says enabled. But when it goes to the next song it enables itself again.
I've tried a factory reset and it's done nothing to fix the problem.
I've tried using both my Beats Solo HDs and the supplied in ear Beats, but still getting the same issue.
Thanks for your help!

For me, the beats enhancement kicks if Im using beats or normal headphones. I dont have the same issue as you though. Sounds like software but could be a dodgy connection as well - have you checked inside the port for dust or any other foreign objects?

Sound with headphones in gone bad

Hey guys,
walking home yesterday was listening to music with audio booster and all was great, bass was fine.
Later on in the day, tried and didn't want to work at all. It played fine but no bass, really terrible sound.
Using the HTC headphones that came with the phone. Is there any way to reset the settings back to normal as I MAY of changed something without realising.
Cheers
No-one got any clues on this? I've searched High and low and isntalled the paravolume thing but nothing's helping this..
Really tinny sound now, with and without the standard headphones (i've also tried high quality in-ear ones that should be good but just arent).
Cheers
Hard reset?
Hard reset the phone, and it's fixed!
Any idea what settings MAY of changed this? Audio booster was enabled, and disabled etc and no change what-so-ever (aprt from a bit less tinny sound nothing major)
Cheers!
probably just a bug ^^
I've got the same problem now. Probably some app is causing this, because after I changed ROM (so it's like HR) the problem is still there. Sound is fine on speaker and through BT stereo headphones. Anybody else had or has such problem?
I also have this problem (O2 Diamond 1.37.401). Few day ago everything was ok, but now, sound is full of distorsion and no bass in present at all, Bass booster made no help. Maybe Advanced Configuration Tool made some mess, becouse it has setting for default volume, and bass, treble level? Are you using this tool also?
I find the solution. Audio booster have a bug.
Plug your earphones, run Booster, disable it and close.
Now unplug and plug phones again back, run booster and enable it.
That worked for me.

How coincidental is this??? Today I was presented with the same problem n I'm currently looking around for help on the same issue. Does the audio sound like ur.on the phone? Mine does... Basically wen I turn on my sensation xl it works fine and sounds fine until I have a phone call. The call goes well with no problems but the audio then goes after the phone call, and wen I make another call, the reciever cannot hear me!!! I've been looking around and it couldbe due to an app not closing the audio port wen another app wants to use it. Do u have Poweramp? My problems only seem to have started since updating it today....
Make hard reset (Remember this delete your data and photos !). probably one of the applications still running in the background and takes the sound driver.
Thank u stona 175.that is wot I done nd phone is now fine.Thank u for your help

Google voice typing is the problem.
Settings->Language&keyboard->deselect "Google voice typing"
that should work

Done, but nothing changes. Even hard reset, as soon as I upgrade old app versions with play store and install Poweramp, or perform the first call, sound goes to one side only. Radio sound perfect, so I assume the phone is not broken, It's a software issue. And the next calls, I hear perfect the other side of the line, but they only hear noise.

Same problem with Official ICS, XL3.6 v1.6 and original RUU ICS.
Finally came back to 3Ms ICS Sense 4 to avoid it (great rom but not 100% functional yet)
Exact same sound problem..
ICS update didnt help... Are there any one or any technician solved problems .. Or any software that might fix it..

Beats audio fix???

So I rooted last night and happy that I did but when I listen to music on my head phones the ones that come with the phone or my skull candys the bass will distort here and there mostly on certain bass lines this happens on all music apps I use power amp stock music player. I read somewhere that this was a bug on HTC part is there a fix anywhere for this does any one else experience this issue just curious cause it gets annoying even happens if beats is enabled or disabled. Also it was like this before root.

[Q] Hissing noise in headphones?

Hey guys,
I've been using an HTC One for two weeks now, and was really looking forward to using it as a music-listening device. However, whenever I'm listening to music on a low volume setting through headphones I can hear a hissing sound that gets louder and softer as the music changes. Since then, I have tested this with another HTC One, various headphones, and have come to the conclusion that something inside the phone is causing noise. As soon as I open up the 'Music' app or any application that turns on the headphone jack, I can hear the hissing. It's very noticeable when listening to music at night in the lower volume settings. The same files I'm listening to have no noise on my blackberry or on my iPod.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.
I can only suggest you exchange for another unit. Yup... I saw that you said you had tried another One.
I came from Nexus 4. My first Nexus 4 had a defective earpiece and the same hissing noise you described from the headphone jack. Did a RMA with Google, and the second Nexus 4 had a perfect earpiece but still some hissing noise from the headphone jack. I didn't want to bother with the RMA process again so I just lived with it.
Then I got my HTC One. Sound quality is miles better than the Nexus 4 and I hear no hissing noise from the headphone jack.
While the chance is slim, it is possible to get defective unit twice in a row. The hissing noise is probably due to in proper shielding or poor wiring inside the phone.

Hi,
Try turning off beats audio and see if it still happens.

I would agree with gustav30. I have noticed this recently, but it only happens when I am toggling the beats audio on and off. I think it might have something to do with the different audio qualities depending on what type of thing you are doing i.e. streaming music, listening to downloaded music, watching YouTube, etc..
Its beats audio. Turn it off and the hissing decreases. You will always have some hissing though no matter what phone and headphones you have.
Beats lowers this hiss, but its still there.
This hiss exists for all android devices I've used and heard when using high sensitivity IEMs.
Considering going back to apple... *sigh*
Has anyone here experienced prominent crackling sound listening to music at full volume when using HTC headphones supplied with the phone ?
I tried using the same headphones on One X but no crackling sound or even on the computer.
It does dis for all the songs I play at full volume on HTC ONE. (it does reduce the crackling noise if I turn off the beats audio).
So wut do u think cud be the problem ?
The headphones, the phones hardware or the beats audio.

[Q] Beats Audio GPE

Some songs don't sound as that good with beats audio on, but if i turn it off the speakers sound like crap. Is there any rom that does not have beats integrated in to the software? (i bought this last week, switching over from Sony not too familiar with how to mod it yet)
