Are you sure downloading it is a good idea?
Does anyone remember that jailbreak for the ipod/iphone that did bugger all but replaced the boot animation with a russing bloke waving? lad at our work does I take one day off and they think they know what they are doing...

I need to as my phone is a bit corrupt as i have removed some system files that i need.

thats an arse, nothing much to loose then, AFAIK you have to sign up to that site and then download the .img,, since thats not likely to happen anytime soon and the OP has 2 similar posts to his name might be quicker to take your phone to the shop and complain its not working,, usually the story of "it randomly rebooted, maybe due to an OTA update, and since then it wont do anything?"
works with most phones, not that I have any previous affiliation to a phone shop that was closed by H/O in a shortsighted d**k move to merge all the assets together.... oh 5 years ago....

I'm a bit late to the party so will try the recovery

the recovery works and i dont see any issues apart from chinese text. no english LOL. gonna flash cappys rom looking at an english still of clockwork mod lol

doesnt seem likely to be a virus as the recovery is fine. just wanna know more before flashing whole new boot.img is all.

download link up and i am downloading this chinese rom which should have english. imma flash it and maybe post it on megaupload to see if one of our guys can use it to help have our 1st fully functional custom rom

flashed this rom and it booted - rather quickly i admit. too many chinese characters left after choosing english at setup
1. friend stream widget is not there nor is fb or twitter log in at setup. no widget even in add widget to homescreen............. must have been removed
2. wifi is moody as signal fluctuates good to bad
3. chinese anzhi market is of no use as all in chinese and rather slow to load and download.
4. signature errors on root explorer and super user app update from market so unable to install them. evferything seems to be rooted to anzhi market hence errors with signature files
5. more chinese characters in browser so if you are chinese you will love this rom
wrapping up
rom is very quick and smooth. all i tried worked but will keep using till something else is offered with full english translation

Thanks for feedback.

can somebody upload this rom, i cant get it from this chinese site.. maybe im able to restore the stock ruu over this rom when its installed and phone boot up.??

Yea you have to register on site which is tedious. You need the boot.img as well as it enable cwm to boot partition correctly. I will upload to megaupload and ask OP to add to homescreen. Also post boot.img as zip here.

apologies for the confusion mate
you need to flash the boot.img prior to flashing chinese rom and yea the fastboot commands are correct. then go into recovery and flash the chinese rom. after messing with chinese rom etc then can flash cappy rom then patch and reboot after wiping as normal. it should boot up then. i think that some of the files needed to boot cappy rom is embedded in the chinese rom of which the boot.img plays a major role

boot.im
here is the boot.img from chinese site
uploading rom to megaupload as we speak but after flashing this boot.img maybe retry cappy rom to see what happens. will post link for rom once done

Just flashed this ROM, everything looks good and working except:
- the hardware keyboard mapping is out. Alphabets are fine, it is the numbers and punctuations that is a mess. w=1 e=2 r=3 s=4 etc tried using the build-in keyboard changer but didnt help
- if I go to landscape and then back to portrait, the call, application drawer and browser shortcut which is at the bottom of the desktop will disappear. it takes a reboot to bring it back
- Tried to get the battery icon to change using UOT kitchen by uploading the apk file from the zip package but it doesn't seem to work.
so far that's it.
thanks for the effort

Donation coming your way from me

I have 2 questions:
1) does nandroid work in this recover?
2) My phone's a stock phone from Fido in Canada. I've unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone. When I go to Settings > About Phone, my Build Number at the very bottom says "4.0.A.2.335"
How do I get SEMC 4.0.1.A.0.283?? I'd really like to use CM7!

Thanks for posting the link to 4.0.2.A.0.42. The previous rom link was missing.
Will this ROM work on my phone even though I've got an MK16a, and not an MK16i? I'm from Canada using a Fido phone, so I want to make sure my phone's Radio will work properly...this ROM is from the UK, so I'm not sure.
Just asking because on the Motorola Milestone, which I upgraded from, you had to select a different radio depending on which country you lived in.
Why do we even need to flash 4.0.2.A.0.42? Is CM7 not a complete ROM replacement? It is on the Milestone - doesn't matter what version you're coming from since CM7 replaced everything.
And FYI, the 10EUR donation was from me
Hope it goes to good use!

thanks
@semc rom
we need to ensure that you have the proper baseband (radio software) this is why we request an semc rom flash 4.0.2.A.0.42 has baseband 56
@a/i
if you have an a device if better to flash proper radio from an semc a update
i will post the link for you

That would be great if you could post an SEMC update for the mk16a. One that will work in Canada
One final question: Is it possible to do a full nandroid backup prior to applying these updates, so that if I want to return to stock, I can?
I was thinking hotboot a recovery via fastboot, then take the nandroid, and then flash the SEMC update, and finally flash CM7.
The nandroid backup makes backup only of the TDs(/system,/data,etc), but it doesn't backups the kernel. As it's the same android & kernel version, it's mos probable the FXP kernel will work with the stock ROM, but I'm not sure.
Edit: I saw the Bi4ry post, and it says the stock ROM is not compatible with FreeXperia kernel.
Tried to use this instead of the official CM7 from cyanogenmod site but after boot.img it doesn't boot anymore and I can't enter CWM recovery....

Any idea when that will be? Sorry for being impatient. I just miss CM7 and can't wait to get it on this phone
Not to be rude, but... When will the FXP044 will be ready? I'm waiting for it. I used a unofficial port of CM7 on my old U20a, and it was really good, so I can't wait to try something better on my MK16a.
Also, will the update to 4.0.2.A.0.42 will be necessary anyway? Which part does the ROM would depend on it?

Well congrats on trying to cook your own rom. Sorry it worked out as such though. But as a few others stated, please don't ever throw the link up for a rom that has not been thoroughly tested. Some of the best developers we have find issues, and this could have led to some serious trouble as we LOVE new stuff lol. But seriously, keep working on it, you'll be a chef in no time

First it might have caused it because you say its stock kernel and and I'm sure you didn't root the kernel and when you make roms do remember that the newer cwm's use edify and not ammend. Now If you need to learn something about development, you can PM me and will help and teach you whatever I know
if you use the kitchen blindly, then you have to end up with these kind of consequences only....if you deodexed doesnt mean you have developed the ROM....what you have done, is using the scripts created by the kitchen, which is no longer supported...you need to edit those or use someone else scripts to flash the ROM...

Had trouble getting it to boot (with and without a data wipe). Wouldn't even make it to the boot animation.
Have you tried to use ROM factory to create a zip? It preserves nearly everything except personal data. I would like to try to it out, but don't like to change my recovery...

Always a pleasure. Afaik ROM factory only has(had?) problems with supercharging - it's a damn good tool for the not so experienced cooker/modder.
If you succeed in creating a proper flashable zip, I'll definitely going to try this one out. I'm on maxBLUR v5 right now but I hate the fact that it has no native German language support. No German keyboard layout sucks...

ModestRom v11--- DOWNLOAD
If you've already upgraded your bootloader to CPD1 (MM 6.0.1) the only thing you need to upgrade is your modem. Using Odin, just place the modem file in the AP slot and boot your phone into download mode and flash.
CQL1 Modem Upgrade-- DOWNLOAD
Instructions
If you are on 5.1.1 you will need to upgrade your bootloader and reroot using this Guide.
If you have already upgraded to 6.0, unlocked your bootloader, and have TWRP installed, all you need to do is the following:
-Download the CQL1 modem upgrade to your pc
-Download the Rom to your internal or external sdcard
-Boot into recovery and factory reset your device
-Do not boot straight from recovery to download mode - download mode does not properly boot without doing the following
-Power off your device and pull your battery for 3-5 seconds (this will ensure that your device properly boots into download mode)
-Insert your battery and boot to download mode by holding vol. down + home button + power button at the same time
-Using Odin flash the CQL1 modem and once that completes, power off your device
-Now boot to recovery by holding vol. up + home button + power button
-Once you're in recovery go to advanced wipe and wipe everything but the internal and external sdcard (I always do this step twice)
-Then just go to install and flash the MODestRom zip file
-Boot time is about 7 to 10 minutes
-Enjoy!!

Advanced/WiFi Calling Fix
This is how I got mine working; it's the same fix that @mharleston brought to light a while back.
Using any root explorer do the following:
-Go to /system/csc/ and find the sales_code.dat file
-Open with a text editor and change the VZW to TMB
-Save that file and reboot
-After the reboot go back to the same file and change it back to VZW and reboot again
Once it boots back up check in Settings and you should be able to access both the Advanced Calling and WiFi Calling

I'm not real sure. It seems like the v&t can both run on f&g models, so if i had to guess i think it can. But that's just a guess.
Hi! I'm very excited there's a new ROM for my N910V. Does Wifi/Advanced Calling work on this ROM?

Advanced calling works and wifi calling activates when you turn it on, but to be honest i haven't tried it to verify. Also just in case your wondering, visual voice mail works (it drives me crazy when I can't get vvm to activate on other roms.)
Good Job

Yes twrp. Just download the zip file, place on your external sd card, or internal if you don't plan on formatting data (although I would), and flash zip file. Also if you haven't already upgrade your modem to pf3, do that first. The link for that is here. The modem needs to be flashed through odin. I'll be sure to update the op to include instructions. Thanks for pointing that out.

Cool rom, but why have 2 batteries enabled on boot? How can we uninstall minit if we prefer the stock batteries?

There shouldn't be two batteries. Did you do a full wipe first? I'll post a version without 3minit mod since it basically requires a paid app to work.
I wiped everything except internal storage and SD card in twrp. Can you add screenshot option to power menu? Thx.

I can certainly give it a shot . I'll have a copy of the systemUI without 3minit up in the morning, as soon as I can get to my computer. Also of you don't want the statusbar gradient you can go into the gradient app and push the slide bar under the color box all the way to the right. I circled the bar in screenshot.
Hopefully this rom is stable, and not a lot of bugs. I've flashed 4 different Roms in the past week or 2.

Is it recommended to flash a different kernel or is the kernel that's incorporated into this rom suffient?

Yes it's very stable. I use my phone heavily for work and that was my kind of the reason I started down this path. If you want to wait a couple hours I'm going to post another version, with 3minit battery and one without. Also a couple more tweaks/mods. I'll update the op with more info as well.

I flashed the modest rom about a hour ago. I gotta say man its great to see a rom that actually works the way it's supposed to work. No FCs or systemUI FCs or random reboots and WiFi works without having to enter my WiFi password everytime I reboot my device.

Mi 6X Tools

So, i was in a habit that i saw my self changing rom or frequently using ADB and those stuff. Now that i have free time i developed a program for windows that has some tools in a way that joins all the basic stuff you need for this device such has Recovery, ADB Commands, Magisk, Stock Rom and it´s all in one convenient place.
Prints and Download Here
I built another version with stock rom but it the installer weights 4GB with it. (I will upload later)
I would appreciate if anyone give me ideas to update this program and make it better.

I suggest the stock rom to point to the latest stock vetsion for download on internet to ensure it is latest version and to program size small ...
does the tool include ARB checker or checking function to prevent people bricking when flashing stock
try including in your tool files necessary for converting :good:
does your tool include option for API2 enabler or flashing MIUI stock camera to custom rom ..
custom kernel like Agni maybe ...maybe standalone option to change camera libs from.old to new or MIUI
changing wifi driver between pie & q
Useful
