V6 Supercharger script on tab(issues) - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Tried running script on tab and followed the guide on xda and when I run script it allows me to select a number and then it goes through the process but on almost every line it says "not found". Am I doing something wrong?
I have root

Script Manager
I am running the Contact rom for sprint with roddericks kernel.

Root or not?

I'm on the fence as to if I should root my Droid. I'm getting the message to install the 2.2 ota and part of me wants to take it but I've been wanting to root for a while now.
How much benefit would I get using cm vs stock android?
Sent from my Droid using XDA App
since i'm getting all these views and no replies, perhaps I should clarify. As far as I can tell, the only thing that really interests me about rooting is the ability to run custom themes and change my boot animation and all that. I've heard that CM is faster than stock android so that's appealing as well, but not as much as the ability to use themes and stuff.
What say you?
if i were you i would update to 2.2 and use easyroot or universalandroot to overclock then wait for a better root to come out where you can load custom roms etc.
Download Universal Androot. Press Root. Then after the process is done, reboot your phone. You are now rooted. After doing so, download ROM Manager (Free version) and flash CWMod Recovery and then install CyanogenMod. Then, buy the Premium Version from the market and while that is downloading, use the App menu in settings to back up your apps to your SD Card after the Premium is done downloading. Go back into ROM Manager and download and install one of jdLfg's kernels. You now have a ludicrously fast phone with a ridiculous amount of themes for your ROM. And all of this will take about 15, maybe twenty minutes at most.
(No, you don't need to wipe to install CyanogenMod)
Sent from my Droid using XDA App
Wow, thanks. I had no idea I could do it all from the phone like that.
What's the advantage to the paid rom manager vs the free one? Does the paid have access to more stuff?
Sent from my Droid using XDA App
Pay the few cents and support the dev. This such a useful you won't regret it. Makes and restore of of your ROMsnso much easier.
Sent from my Moto Droid using XDA App
I don't have a problem supporting the dev, I was just curious if there were additional features in the paid version. You know, to make it worth our while to pay.
Sent from my Droid using XDA App
I believe you have to have the paid version to download ROMs through the app.
Sent from my Droid using XDA App
@ L or anyone else who can help
I followed your instructions and the ROM manager wont work... should i not have already had 2.2 before doing this?
Universal Androot should have installed Superuser Permissions which should allow RM to install ROMs. If you are "stuck at M" flash SP then flash CWMod Recovery again and try to reinstall the ROM that you want.
And no, it does not matter which update you were running before you rooted. If the RM installs aren't working, then download which ROM you want from the internet and flash that.

Thank you that worked.

Install "market enabler", I think your phone has to be rooted with super user access.

Sorry im new to this but what is market enabler and also my phone is alreasy rooted with super user acess
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Where do I install the market access
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
I believe newer versions of it are called "market access". You can get it here: http://amip.tools-for.net/android/MarketAccess
In the future, please put questions in the dedicated Q&A forum, and remember that the forums are searchable - there are already threads about this question that have been here nearly since release.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Sorry, apparently it's actually a fork.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
market access doesn't alway work with every rom. I can be running an i9000 rom and still not be able to download some apps (Live Scores for example) when set to any of the other markets. I can install Eugene's rom based on the Vibrant and be able to download apps like Live Scores.

Busybox overwriting on boot

Is there any way to upgrade busybox version on gdx rom?
The rom seems to overwrite busybox on boot...
And I can't use supercharger script with built in 1.15.3 busybox...
Sent from my X8 using XDA App
I have the same problem!
Yeah, having any luck finding solution?
Sent from my X8 using XDA App
as I know if you upgrade your busybox will make your phone bootloops, for me built-in busybox is enough and supercharger script works well
Yeah, but bulletproofing won't work on with 1.15.3 bb
Sent from my X8 using XDA App
that's right, supercharger doesn't work well with such an old version of Busybox.
I know that, but how come no one can help...
I mean, there are so many devs here and I still haven't heard of solution to this problem...

[Kernel]Stock LG V9 Kernel

Once again, here we go. ********{this for the V9 software update. you can check software versions from the settings, about phone menu from your revo}***********
################################ FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK ##############################
Got the stock kernel from the latest LG/Verizon update V9.
Enjoy!!!!!
Download
Instructions: Download, boot cwm, flash, roboot, cook dinner, shower, do some laundry, save the world..... :victory: Have fun!!!!!!
## REMEMBER: give things time to settle. Things will get better, with the exception of horse power
NOTE: installation will wipe dalvik-cache. First boot will be looooooooooong, and mostly blank. Don't get scared. The stock 4G boot ani plays then screen goes blank for looooooooooooooong boot. Working on the boot ani thing.
****Any issues, Holla****
Edit: for some unknown reason, at least to me, your boot ani will be erased. Reinstalling does not work. Working on fix.
Edit: super user might have issues after installation. CWM 6.0.1.1 detected the error and corrected it for me. If you don't get an error on 'su' from cwm, then just reboot like normal and you 'may' have to reroot. easy work-around for now Does not affect cwm..
I haven't tried it but I aim to. Getting rid of the stock boot sound (annoying and obtrusive) would be great! Thanks for sharing your work.
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using Tapatalk 2
Appreciate it mane. no sound on the boot. Just the ani, the 4g, purple, swirly thing.

I don't know a ton about how kernels and roms work with each other so sorry for the noob question...
Does this work with both the stock ROM and Broken Out? And would it interfere with a future ota update?
Thanks for your work!

Will this work if still on v8?
I'd make a back up first, but I don't see why not. There wasn't that much of a difference from v8 to v9. Let me know if you run into problems, if you try it. I'm just curious.

Hey, I just got a VOD on this kernal. Could it be because the minimum clock setting was too high or something? Thanks!
EDIT: Just got another

Both Titanium Back up and ROM Manager Pro get hung up, even after re-installing them, and I already got a screen freeze lol, guess its back to blitz. I'll try this again if I ever update to v9
Idk. I don't think it has anything to do with clock speed. I'm beginning to think vod is just a revo issue.
Sent from my VS910 4G using xda app-developers app
I haven't had a problem, works just fine. Thanks!

Also want to add that I have seen a better battery life compared to the BO 2.0.1.
Sent from my VS910 4G using xda app-developers app
I too have better battery life. Down only 9% over 5 hours of normal use. Would be down around 20% before.
But I still get screen freeze, but no VOD.

Good to hear. Still trying to figure out what's causing the screen freeze. And still working on being able to change the boot animation.

Not sure if this is an isolated incident but after using this stock kernel, I got Superuser (Elite installed) lockup and FC'ing. I couldn't get any root app to work. SU binary is latest v3.1.1 (17). I reverted to my latest BO v2.0 nandroid and all is fine again.
Only recent change I could think of prior was an updated Root Explorer which was coincidentally the first root program I attempted after. It err'd saying it was waiting for SU access and needed to be restarted, but that changed nothing. Neither did clearing SU and SU Elite data.

I actually noticed the same thing. so I just ran that all in one easy root for V8/V9 tool and ran the root option. no problems since.

Honestly, now that you mention it I did notice that. Now that I look through the cwm logs, I see I had a su error while flashing. Apparently, the new cwm fixed it. Hmmm. Same for the wifey.
Good to know that root is still attainable.
Sent from my VS910 4G using xda app-developers app
Quick question. I followed the directions, going to cwm and installing this zip. When it comes back on, I go to about phone and it still shows it's on zv7. Is it ok to install the latest broken out revo, or is it safe to assume it didn't actually install zv9? I was previously on gingervolt zv7, any suggestions?
PS thanks for providing this btw!

Ad Away not blocking ads on HTC One

Obviously most are aware Google Play have blocked any ad blocking apps but i had an apk. of AdAway from my Galaxy S3 so i installed it on my One but it does not appear to block all ads like it used to even when i manually update it and reboot there's always ads in certain apps, am i using an older version of this apk. or does anyone else have an alternative apk'. of any ad blocking app i could use, or is it something to do with the phone itself?
Cheers
unless you're running a modified kernel with the protection of /system partitions disabled, your host file gets replaced by default every time you reboot.
I've adblock 2.3 and it works fine, i don't have ads in apps
Which version do you have?
And see if you aren't running a custom kernel with /system partition protection disabled.
Have Trickdroid on my phone so I choose stock kernel as it's the most stable i believe, not ready to flash custom kernel yet as development is still in the early stages, running same version as above stated and not sure it blocks any ads, any other way around this without flashing a custom kernel?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
There's a mod that removes the protection from the stock kernel. It's in the development section.

But only on full boot, no problem if you have fast boot enabled... Works fine for me without kernel mod in that basis
Only problem was I needed to install Ad away with titanium backup as it did not show up in the market for some reason

As i mentioned in the OP Google play no longer allow apps like ad away and similar ad blocking apps, ridiculous but what can you do.
I actually don't have fastboot enabled, I'll do that now and try again and report back.

Had better luck with adblock plus than adaway, might want to try that instead.
This was one of the first things I installed (all of yesterday, when I got it).
First thing to note is that you don't have to reboot the phone, despite what the app says. Just activate it and go back to Home screen. In fact, a reboot, as noted above, will undo the effects of Ad-away.
I did notice that it seemed to disable itself at one point today, unless my phone rebooted at some point in my pocket without my knowledge, which would be disconcerting.

Do you have an up to date apk. for that mate?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I just checked the "help" information in my AdAway app, it sets out instructions for a workaround for HTC S-on devices i.e. how to move the hosts file to data and put a symlink in system...
Think this answers the question in the OP
Per post 12 you can currently get AdAway here either directly or by installing F-Droid market (alternative to Play store)

Aye you can grab it here:
https://adblockplus.org/downloads/adblockplusandroid-1.1.2.apk
If you're on stock ROM and don't want to use any kernel patch to make your /system partition writable, you can flash this little zip through recovery (e.g. CWM) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327934. Does exactly the same as the app (blocking hosts through system's hosts file) but applied via recovery
