Got a question! - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am planning on getting a Note and was curious if it is possible to get the Note running on ATT prepaid here in the US? I ran across someone who said it was possible but want to confirm with you guys that actually have the phone and have done that or know about it.
Thanks

If your future Note is unlocked and the 3G/2G AT&T band is supported, than yes.

There is a thread here to guide on how to set it up for at&t. Yes it's possible.

I noticed the low end of the processor came in at 192. Mine on AT&T was 384 before I applied the OC. I wonder why this is?

I'm in Dayton Ohio too. My condolences.
lol--well at least we are not in Cleveland--too bad my son and his wife are though
reason I asked is the times on the screenshots are 4 hours a head of EST
I would like those speeds here on the Note with Tmo--my N1 speeds suck
I am currently deliberating btw the Note/sg3/Gal Nexus which is now available unlocked from Google and GSM/+21 for Tmo
I have to balance it all with 9 months left on contract. Kinda screwed on that and a gov't contract, so don't know if I can argue for no termination fee as I brought the N1 with me from Cincy Bell. Not a phone I bought from them or got free. Or, get closer to end and suck up the term fee.
Pic shows 4.0.3--hoping that's true
I have until June and then it's only 100 to cancel and hello straight talk.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
So it's going to ship with ICS?
I don't know if anyone knows, screenshots just show 4.0.3

So that means when galaxy note will be released for Tmobile, ice cream sandwich update for att galaxy note will be ready? I guess its up to att to release the update. But I'm guessing they won't want customers to switch to Tmobile because of ice cream sandwich so they will be quick updating.

If nothing else it looks identical other than radio, so we can just flash their ICS rom/use it as a base for our roms.
To answer some of the questions.......
Yes it will ship with ICS as far as we know......
It will run 4G
It is essentially the same unit as the ATT 717 with a few minor changes
I am hoping to post a system dump link and maybe the modem here soon....... so stay tuned.......

Has anyone got the note to work on TMO 3G or 4G?

I'm planning on buying a Note to use on T-Mobile but I wanna know If it'll get TMOS 3G or 4G. Yes I know that's it's coming to TMO but no one knows when. I hate how slow edge is an I'm always on 52mbps+ wifi but I like to have fast speeds on the go also. I read on Twitter about flashing a T-Mobile modem but idk if that's stable or what. Any help?

No, flashing a tmo modem will not work.

I believe flashing a TMo modem on the I717 will work - but this is the N7000 section not the I717 section.

Fken awesome! I hope we can get the Radio sooner than that though. But this is great new nonetheless...i was beginning to think that the Tmo Note was just a rumor after all. This proves it wrong.
Great news, can't wait to get better speeds...I would've considered trading my current note for it, but it looks like they will only carry black, I love my white note too much.
Does the T-Mobile version have the exynos processor since no LTE?

These dates have to wrong cause all new devices are released on Tuesday. They are just like CDs and DVDs, always released on Tuesday. Maybe they will be released yhe same week of these dates.
i wonder if it will have the Wifi Calling feature?? If so, I'm trading in my AT&T for a TMobile Note. Can't wait and it's on my birthday, whoohooo
I hope we can extract the wificalling apk and use it on T-Mobile sims . That will make my note complete:')

That's not true entirely my friend. As a sales rep for the big three we do release phones on special days sometimes... just like on certain days other than Tuesdays they release DVDs and movies and music and such. Discluding pre orders of course.

Well ****. I was going to buy a Note outright from AT&T on July 2nd to use on tmo but now I dunno if I should wait. If it's the same processor, will we be able to port a better radio to the att version? I had my heart set on white...

Well im one of the lucky few who knows someone with a note and insurance so i paid the deposit for mine and im on tmobile so the wait for great signals seems worth it to me since i paid less than half the price for this phone.
It will be the same one though right? No need to worry.

If they were smart, they would bring the exynos and advertise as the most powerful note offered in America or some crap. They don't need it to be LTE equipped yet, so it would make sense and give them an edge.

Has anyone gotten any update to which processor will be used see as how t-mobile does not currently have LTE???
The T-mobile galaxy note will use the same S3 snapdragon 1.5MHz processor that is used in the At&t Galaxy note.
This is great! If the hardware, is the same then we be great for us ATT Note using Tmobile users! Can't wait.
Just curious, if the hardware is the same, how is the Tmo version going to have 42+mbps, since the ATT version can only support 14mpbs. Is it all in the radio update?
Not that I don't believe you because this seems like the easiest and most logical thing for t-mo to do but do you have an reference's? Also since the hardware will be the same will AT&T roms/kernels work without any modification?
If you look at the 2nd and 3rd screenshots you can see the tmobile note uses the same cpu/gpu as the at&t note. The specs could change between then and July 11th, but my imo, i don't think it will. As far as roms/kernals go, i don't know. A dev could better answer that question.

Switching from Sprint to T-mobile, can I keep this phone?

Hi all, because sprint is removing my discount (I've been a customer for over 10 years) it is cheaper to move to T-mobile, but it has already been over 14 days and I cannot return my current sprint phone.
I currently have it rooted and unlocked, but I'm wondering if it is possible for me to just somehome keep this phone, but use it on the T-mobile network instead of having to sell this, and than buying a new one and losing money.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated,
Thank you!
Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't they make it illegal to take your phone to a new carrier without your current carriers permission. Granted I do not know the details. But from what I understand the networks are not compatible so I do not think you would be able to do that. One is CDMA and the other is GSM.
I'm surprised no one's answered this simple question.
To answer your question, no. No way in hell. Sell your phone and get it T Mobile Phone simple as that.

They removed your discount when you upgraded. Go back into the store, fill out the form and fax it to Sprint. You will then have your discount back. You just have to re-verify every 2 years.

No, for two reasons...
1. The phone won't do GSM inside the US.
2. Even if it could do GSM in the US, it lacks UMTS 850, UMTS 1700 and LTE 1700, hence performance on T-Mobile as a smartphone will be poor.

You could easily make 550 off of your One, assuming it's in like-new condition.

Good morning guys. I just made the jump from AT&T and I was wondering does tmobile update their phones for the life of the device or like AT&T does that they update phones 3 times then concentrate on newer devices? Please let me know. Thanks in advance

"...they update phones 3 times then concentrate on newer devices..."
Sad but true. The Note 2 I recently sold was still stuck on Jelly Bean and Note 2 owners were promised KitKat from T-Mobile, never received the update. And now there is no news of Lollipop for the T-Mobile Note 2.
I had the AT&T Note 4, but returned it, mainly due to the fact that it was not developer-support. Because I'm on the JUMP! Program, I'll most likely end up changing my device every 6-8 months or so, therefore the update schedule doesn't and shouldn't hurt me anymore.

Thanks for the reply man. It's messed up the American companies do this. The international versions of the phone that we stopped receiving updates for here in the u.s are still receiving updates internationally. Even though I switched from AT&T cause I'm tired of locked bootloaders. I think if you own a device you should have the freedom to do with it as you please. ?

Take that statement to the Supreme Court. FCC needs to look over this, in addition to Net Neutrality, haha.

who says you cant "do with it as you please"
you just wont get carrier provided updates after awhile, but you are free to do anything you want to your phone, you just have to deal with the consequences if you break/ruin/brick it..
