Hi friends, I have htc dream but I can't install applications downloaded with my browser. It keeps telling me installation 'unsuccessful'. The market on my phone doesn't have application. Pls what do I do? I have unchecked the non-market and cleared my cache several times. I even did factory restore. I need help pls. Thanks
Some additional information would be helpful, i.e. phone model, which ROM is installed, using cMTD, ...
I havnt rooted the phone yet or upgraded ten android version. Will the problem be resolved if I upgrade?

Hey everyone, first post here.
I recently bought a NEW HTC Dream off eBay. After receiving it, i tested out with my sim card, and found out that it does indeed work with my network (3 Australia), and everything else functions as normal (google sync, sms, internet).
However, i know that the firmware is 1.1, and i want to upgrade it. After trying to "Check for updates" in the normal settings, an error occurs and force closes the settings, not allowing me to upgrade.
I checked the info, and this is what it is (see text file attached as i cannot post "links")
the phone IS "T Mobile" branded, yet it works with all of my settings in Australia, except for the upgrade.
I tried to download 1.5 various times, and tried to upgrade manually, but it will not work.
My question - what is going on, why can't i upgrade to the latest firmware ??

I´ve an i9000b and WIPE/RESET FACTORY dont work!!! Even i´ve flashed with I9000XXJPU with repartition and then with JPG.JP4.JPG to i9000b, and still have the same background, and setuplauncher doesnt work, it force me to close all apps that try to start (g.maps, gmail, weatherbug elite, etc..)
Its looks like a deepfreeze, if i delete all via usb connection, its like nothing, becuse all apps are there after reset (wipe/factory reset/)
I dont know what to do!! Could you help me?
Havent lagfix, i ´ve used busybox for titanium backup and i´ve found a folder of clockworkmod that i´ve deleted but its still there after reset.

Samsung Galaxy S i 9000
firmware version 2.3.6
kernel 2.6.35.7-I9000DDJVB
I am trying intsall the new room by following instructions from here at thedroidcity.com/galaxy-s-gt-i9000-upgrade-to-official-jellybean-4-2-1-firmware
But not able to root . What ever application I used ( gingerbreak, root with restore, CASUAL-PublicBeta4, ROM Manager , super oneclick,InitialCFRootFlasher, mtofail) I am never successful in root my phone. Always the applications go unending with message that files are read only and su can be copied. Even I tried mount system(r/w, r/o). Not much use
Request team member to help me in understanding how to root this phone and install the latest rom ( Hope the jellybean 4.2.1 is the latest )

go back to xxjvu then do it all again from there i had same problem and remICS 4.2.2 working for me
Thanks the problem is solved I have upgraded to 4.2.2. HAve a strange problem now.I have contacts updated from my gmail and they all appear in contacts. Same is not accessible while messaging and calling. Any suggestions

chech settings of dialer - somewhere there'll be which contacts are shown
you could try wiping your dalvic and cache just and reflash the rom if you dont get any other solution
Thanks a lot. I reflashed ROM and now the problem seems solved. But issue now is that it is taking time to connect to 3g netwrok and I need to struggle a lot a connect( switch on/off airplane mode, installed 3g manager, reset settings). Is there any solution for this

Hello everyone!
I've just successfully rooted my HTC One under Android 4.4.2 and installed OneDroid, but I'm having a serious issue with it.
Essentially, it works just fine. However the UI (com.android.systemui) crashes as soon as I unlock my phone and keeps crashing every 2 seconds until I do a factory reset.
Do you have any idea how to solve this?
Could you also please tell me which model my phone actually is? I bought it in Switzerland, not simlocked.
I need this information, because I want to know which stock firmware to install, if ever needed.

Hi all , 1st post here so hi from Scotland.
As t' title says I'm having Hassle's updating my GT-N7000 from 4.0.3 OTA vie settings/about phone/software update/update. It downloads fine, reboots and runs the extraction/update however when it gets to the home screen I'm told that the update has failed and to connect the phone to a PC via Kies Air. Only problem is I don't have a PC but i do have a nexus 7 13 which says is incompatible with kies according to Google play.
So I'm here begging favours people, anyone got a suggestion or workaround thingy? And thanks for reading.

No, there's a couple of launchers installed but it's not rooted.
I was wondering if I downloaded it and then booted to the boot-menu if I could run it from there, but then would that make a difference?
You can make a backup of your files & settings and do a factory reset. Maybe after that the ota update works. Give it a try, if not you need a PC and flash latest Stock Rom...
