Ubuntu driver problem - Off-topic

Hi folks,
I just built a new computer on the cheap and used an nVidia Geforce 430 video card. The computer runs Ubuntu fine, although it is falling back into Unity 2D. I then update the driver in system settings, which should allow me to run Unity 3D and have hardware accelerated graphics. However, upon rebooting I am faced with an oversized Ubuntu symbol and am stuck on that screen. The computer won't even boot into Unity so I can remove the drivers.

What the screen should look like in normal boot:
How do I enter recovery mode from the aforementioned screen so that I can use terminal to remove the drivers?
How can I implement the drivers without running into this problem?
Thanks in advance!
P.S. I'm on ubuntu v. 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot

Hello to all friends
I need help with a little problem.
I have to reinstall the ROM of the tablet that has this problem.
When turned on it stays in SHELL:

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I can access the Bios that at the moment is like this.
The tablet can be put in DNX mode, so in theory I can reinstall the ROM
The problem is that I have tried it several ways and the ROM is not loaded, I do not know if the Bios is good or not.
Do I start from scratch and flash the Bios first?
I insist with the ROM installation?
I need help please.
Thank you
I think that your eMMC is damaged or not recognized anyway.
Scan it with a bootable USB with "Acronis iso" or "Gparted iso" or "Pwizard iso".
Thanks for the reply.
Indeed, the partition is corrupted, it only recognizes 7 gb of unpartitioned space but the program is not able to repair it.
Any ideas?
i tried it before and fix it by installed the android first, then you can install window.

intel gen 2 does not have all virtualisation instruction needed for the player i think,it is getting old after all.
You should also make sure virtualization is turned on in the BIOS. If it is on, you may have to disable it, reboot, then go back into BIOS and enable it again. It's happened to me.
Here's what's worked for me: I rebooted the PC and then started the Remix OS Player with one cpu-core. It installed some Intel HAXM Drivers and started working.

Do the emulators (AVDs) require SLAT/EPT virtualization to run?

I have a rather old PC here running an Intel Q9550 processor.
Problem is when trying to start an emulator in Android studio it gets killed immediately.
The processor has only 1st gen. virtualization (VT-x, VT-d) but not 2nd gen. (SLAT/EPT), see
Re: Is Intel VT-x/EPT not supported by Q9550?
Actually, both VT-x and VT-d are supported by the (vPro-enabled) Q9550 processor. In order for these features to be used, this processor must be combined with a vPro-enabled chipset. I see that the Dell Optiplex 870 indeed has a vPro-enabled chipset, namely Q45, so these features should be...

Thanks.
