Optimus lg 2x S/W upgrade brick - LG Optimus 2x

Hey what's up! I'm having a really big issue with my Optimus 2x. I tried updating it using an online guide and using a program called KDZ FW UPD EN something like that.
The update didn't work and I'm stuck with a frozen screen that says S/W Upgrade, please wait while upgrading...
I have tried the hard boot, where you press the top button and the down volume button but when it takes me to the reset screen I cannot choose an option.
I have tried using the flashes as shown on the forums but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. I've seen all the posts, but I don't quite understand what to do. Could someone PM me? I'm a complete noob at this.
Do I need another program to do Flash?
How do I hook up a bricked optimus to the computer and flash?
Do I still use the lgmobile update to flash/sync with the computer? If so how?
Could you possibly walk me through the steps, if you have time on your hands. My phone is my only way of communicating with my family in another province.
Thanks!

I keep getting stuck when it is actually installing. After the download section the updater crashes.
My phone can't do anything. I know I turned on the debug mode before the brick happened. All that happens when I turn on the phone is it says "S/W upgrade please wait."
Any suggestions?

Hello!
Follow the guide step by step...
Pull the battery push volume down and connect phone to your computer - now it says S/W Update please wait - and if everything (all the drivers) are installed correctly the Smartflash/LG Updater should see the phone and you can begin flashing.
If you phone isn’t seen by the software almost probably the driver isn’t correct.

Or try Rustys method for Disaster recovery…
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1229407

What ever I try it freezes on the UPDATE portion of it.
Before it used to freeze at 4% but now everytime it gets to update, it crashes.

Hello!
Did you try Rustys method?
What crashes? Your PC or the phone?
Did you use LG Updater, Smartflash or NVFlash?

The updater crashes. I did the flash with the KDZ. Not sure which one it is.
The updater crashes.
And on my phone it is stuck on the S/W upgrade, like it doesn't go past that even when booting up normally.

Hello!
Ok then...
You should try Rustys Disaster recovery first.
...and than one of the other methods.

hello..
do u have install cwm?
if yes,try boot to recovery and flash new rom

As I understand he is stuck in the "S/W upgrade please wait."-screen and can't boot in any way - doesn't sound like he has cwm installed...
As I already wrote he should try to flash Rusty Disaster recovery first (contains cwm) and then try to recover from there.

I checked out rusty's disaster thing, but ummm what do I exactly do with it. There is no real explanation about what to do, could you walk me through it perhaps? ^^ thank you again.

Hello!
Just follow Rustys post...
Start „flash-recovery.bat“ choose either internal or external SD card and flash it.
Since you surely don't have a nandroid backup I would choose external and do backups to external card in the future...
After that you should be able to get in to recovery and flash other roms you put on your SD card.
BTW: Don't forget when you use any of the flashing tools with Windows 7 you need administrative rights to do so – same goes for the LG Updater by the way...
Just right click on the batchfile (.bat) or smartflasher and use „execute as administrator“. Hope you find it - it says „Als Administrator ausführen“ in German...
If you want pure stock you could stock use this method with smartflash...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1327929
If you want a pre-rooted version use this...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327949
(the Update.zip is flashable through CWM-recovery – just put it on the external SD card.
If you want to flash CM7-KANGS don't forget to flash gapps too...

How do I go about executing the flash-recovery.bat?
I hook up my phone, it turns on to S/W upgrade. The computer recognizes it, and then I open up the flash-recovery.bat and nothing happens when I tell it to do the external thing. The window just closes. O.O
Am I doing something wrong? Am I supposed to place the flash-recovery inside something? Like an external sd card on the phone or something like that?

Have you root permissions?

Hello!
Ok, still sounds like a communications problem between you computer and you phone.
You should try to use the command shell to start the batch-script to see if there are any error messages.
Do you use Windows 7, Vista or XP?
If you use Windows 7 look for PowerShell(x86) - you find though the start button - just punch in "shell" and it should show up.
Start it with right click of the mouse and use administrative rights!!!
Extract the files from Rustys disaster recovery package to a directory on c: - some thing short like "t" or "recover" and use the cd command in shell to get in the directory. Then start the batch script - type "./flash-recovery.bat".
Of course don't forget to connect the phone before the usual way - disconnect the battery push volume down and connect it via USB.
Now it should flash or give you an error message...

I had understood that he has to flash only recovery, not the firmware

Hello!
Well he had problems flashing the Update and now the device seems to be bricked.
The suggestion was to flash Rustys disaster recovery and try to flash a new rom from there. Right know he is stuck in a device only showing the "wait S/W-Update" screen...
He also could try Smartflash and flash a new firmware stock or custom whatever...
Again - right now he is stuck with a brick.

If u r using stock rom & bricked whn doin update, try LG online recovery its in update application in situation update not successful it phone gets bricked.it simple process.

LG 4X HD p880 in bootlooping, can't do anything [&already searched the foruns]

Hello.
I'm new to Android stuff and i started with Lg P880. I rooted it easily and now i've tried to install some CWM but i guess i did it wrong. After the initial LG logo the phone was doing the boot animation and then it got stuck on it. Then i flashed some .kdz into the phone and it got stuck on the initial LG logo without the animation.
I've already searched 1000 topics and tried 1001 things but nothing with success. What should i do? maybe the best option is to install the original firmware? and how if it is?
Thanks guys, hoping for some feedback.
You did unlock your bootloader didn't you? If so try to flash kdz with LG Flash Tool or something.

u can also use the all in one toolkit to help u install a recovery easy. if u havent unlocked the bootloader, then that tool will help u unlock it. u must have adb drivers installed to boot in adb and unlock bootloader. after unlocking is done u can install a custom rom. if u wanna go back to stock rom then dont bother to unlock the bootloader.

u cant find anything in 10 seconds when we say search we mean search good. nevermind... its only 5 minutes of my life.
i wont show u the adb drivers cause u have to force them in and people usually have problem with that procedure. just
1. download 32bit version android sdk , install it and update it. reboot ur pc to be sure the drivers are fine.
2. go at the folder u installed the android sdk. in there somewhere u will see a file named adb. in there create a cmd so u dont have to navigate there to use the adb commands.
3. open that cmd and do : adb start-server . check if u see ur device: adb devices. if u see it then u are good to go.
4. reboot in adb mode. use the all in one toolkit or do: adb reboot bootloader . if u get in adb mode then the toolkit will do its magic.
u dont need guide for the toolkit and there is none because above it sais what to do. it gives u options to select : 1 or 2 and then when u are in u just select the unlock bootloader. after its unlocked , select the option to flash cwm recovery or team win recovery whichever u like. thats all. then go download a custom rom , boot in recovery using volume down and power , navigate to find the adb bootloader and do ur magic using the command : adb install [rom path/name] from the pc. it will take only 10 seconds. generally its very easy. the only trouble in that crapy windows is the driver part but the android sdk will make it easy.

first of all put ur thoughts in order. u said u only rooted so u mustnt have unlocked the bootloader. if the bootloader is locked then cwm is not flashed. try reboot and hold volume down and power and see if u get in recovery. if not , then u must install a recovery. team win or cyanogen doesnt matter. (IF u have installed cwm that means the drivers on the pc are corrent and u can get in adb mode) Do that and tell me what happened so i know what u have done so far , because all those threads are confusing until now.

[Q] Help unbrick device

After installing Vanir, I don't know what went wrong !!! it was freezing then after trying to charge it, it bricked!!!!
I searched the forume and found major two ways
FIRST
RuedasLucas Here :

i followed the info. correctly and stuck in the same problem the man in the thread have, I am stuck in LG logo
so i tied the second
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40174748&postcount=9&nocache=1
and i am stuck in installing " LGmobile Support Tool " because i am in windows 8 and it is not compitable with it. every time trying to install it seems not responding.
so i am stuck now and donot know how to unbrick it !!! no one tell me to set up win 7 because i donot have one
The LG support tool works fine on my Windows 8 64-bit version. Look for the thread on 'Flashing a KDZ with pictures' and follow it to the letter.
did u install gapps ? vanir installation never had a problem. about windows 8 x64 i can confirm the support tool is working because i had them some months ago ( now im on ubuntu x64 ).
and its not a good idea if on some little mistake u try go back to stock. the reason u tried flash vanir was to go away from stock. if u flash back to stock then in a few days will want to flash again a custom. so try again and do it right !
also dont take off battery. no need. maybe this battery trick is history. i never did that. i just long pressed power to reboot and then i just pressed a few times the vol down ( not hold ).

The first thing to do if it sticks on the LG Logo is to boot into the LG recovery and do a factory reset - just to make sure. You often have to do this after flashing a new KDZ anyway.

i told you earlier at my post here , that you dont need to flash kdz and go back to stock if ur final goal is a custom rom. u could reinstall recovery using adb bootloader. nevermind -_- u just do things harder for u. bootloader is unlocked u cant unlock the unlocked. bootloader isnt locking again when u just force the stock rom in. there is another procedure u must do to lock it. u can install recovery ( if u havent ) and just install a custom rom
EDIT: you dont need this anymore but ill explain.
adb is used to force files into the device. its a way to communicate with the phone using the pc. u can use the adb to install whatever u like but if u are not sure that the thing u are trying to install is ok for the device, then u will have a problem.
so , since your bootloader is already unlocked, you can go in adb bootloader and force the recovery in.
open cmd:
Lets say i use the teamwin recovery. ill rename it to be easy and save it to desktop. my file is: recovery.zip
open cmd as administrator and go to desktop: cd .....[path to ur desktop]
1. adb start-server
2. adb reboot bootloader
3. fastboot fash recovery recovery.zip
thats it. 3 commands is 10 seconds work. u dont need to go back to stock rom to install a custom rom.

Why in God's name do people insist on trying to use ROM Manager? It is a pile of c**p that causes far more issues than need be. Just read the threads and do it manually so that you understand what you are doing, and why - or worst case use the All-In-One-Toolkit instead.

I don't think that you have done what you think you have done If you had followed the first thread you listed then you would have installed CWM Touch v6.0.3.1 on your phone as that is the version you would have had to download.
If your phone boots up fine into normal operation then simply follow that guide again TO THE LETTER - and when you reboot into recovery, do NOT use ROM Manager to achieve it - use the proper method.

I started and I got a message c:\adb is not recognized etc..I already changed the path in "envirometn variables" to c:..
When I open cmd it says like this C:\ADB> and then I type there c:\adb>adb shell.. Or should I just type adb shell??

Common sense is often needed when doing anything with your phone - and a bit of basic computer knowledge.
I've just re-read the thread you linked to as a check. The command "c:\adb>adb shell" is a mistype by the OP. It should be "c:\adb\adb shell" or, if you are already in the C:\ADB folder, simply "adb shell"

Ok.. I did that! Now,when I wrote the last comand "sync" it opened a new row [email protected]:/# and the next step in OP is restart in recovery mode.. Should I just turn off the phone and get into recovery? Its the same like the last time..

I'm glad it worked. As for ROM Manager, I have no idea as I won't contaminate my device with it. If the Recovery says it's 6.0.3.1 then I'd trust it and uninstall the pointless application.

[Q] Verizon LG G2 Stuck in CWM Bootloop

Hey guys,
I accidentally selected the OTA that popped up on my phone while on a Stock ROM and now my Verizon LG G2 is stuck in a bootloop with CWM Recovery 6.0.4.4 I have tried to wipe everything and install a older CM ROM and Gummy ROM to see if that would get my phone to turn back on and it doesn't. I have researched many threads to see if there was a resolution for my issue, but everything that I tried did not work. I have a iMac and a Windows laptop and I have tried many things with Terminal and Command Prompt and nothing seems to work. I don't know if I am doing something wrong with ADB or if I am simply just missing other things, but I am trying to get my phone back un-rooted and back to stock to get my phone replaced under the warranty. PLEASE HELP!

Try the LG tools for bricked G2. Its somewhere on these forums. All you have to do is plug up to a computer and flash the stock ROM with the tool.

I tried the LG Flash Tool on a PC, but it gives me an error message LG USB/Parallel Lock Key is not detected and when I hit OK, it pops up with a Login with the Country filled in with Republic of Korea, ID and Password are left empty. I don't know what to do from there.
Enter into download mode by turning off your phone, then hold vol + and plug it to your computer.
Download the official firmware for your device.
Download FlashTool.1.0.54
unzip FlashTool.1.0.54, open the folder and launch UpTestEX.exe
Select type:3GQCT
Phone mode: DIAG
Select kdz file: browse for your official firmware
Then click: normal web upgrade test
Then click: Upgrade start
a new window will show, chose english language. Country: korea, then click ok and wait untill the firmware installs.
Good luck.

How can I flash TWRP when my phone won't boot? According to a post I read and a YouTube video tutorial I watched, they keep referring to turning on USB Debugging which I can not do.

HELP!!! Please! BRICKED!!!

Hey so I have the L90 D415 and I flashed the partition tool to get more data but i didn't realize that it was broken for my device and now im having issues.... This is how it went. I used the tool and it got to 70% and rebooted back into twrp so i knew that wasnt right so i flashed the next one that was supposed to be fixed and it did flash completely but for some reason it erased twrp, installed cwm and now i cant get into either. I had flashed stock using cwm before i chose to reboot but im still not able to boot up(stuck on LG logo). So to recap I can't get into recovery at all. I have fastboot. flashtool wont work(wont read phone in usb mode cuz im not booted) and im stuck on the LG boot screen. Please help me.

Well duh you didnt wipe the data of the rom before you flashed so of couse you are gonna be boot. Flash with the kdz offline flash then when you are done flashing pull out battery and use special button combo to factory reset it so that you can boot in to phone but you will lose all data excluding the ones on your EXTERNAL sd card.

Go on the lg website and find lg l90 d415 drivers and install them if you got that far its most likely just driver issues.

Also check if you have your computer enabled for all drivers..
Some drivers do not boot because the certificate is not correctly assigned.
If you have a PC running Windows, on boot press F8 and select disable driver certification verify.
Try again after this.
