Samsung tablet 8.9 soft brick (please help) - Galaxy Tab 8.9 General

Ok, I have rooted samsung tablet 8.9 and made CWM back up. Tablet went into reboot and it having distorts at the boot up power. I pressed Power + volume up for recovery holding 15 secs until you see Package and download.
I pressed volume down at download section and continued to go into odin mode, but nothing has been appear nothing but black screen and then tablet reboots itself and having distorts loop again right after samsung logo. (power on then shows samsung logo goes into distorts then tablet power down and power on repeat same thing)
tried package and it crashed.
Looks like i am unable to have this tablet recovered?
if no fix, I'm returning to best buy store and play dumb for full refund/exchange.
Thanks for your help.

Hi, did you ever get any help for this. I just had the same thing happen (except that I don't know what cwm is) and I haven't gotten a response to my post. It seems that those who install ROM Manager on the 8.9 and enter recovery mode are having this problem - that's what happened to me while I was following instructions on this site. I found the unbrick thread in the andriod development section but the system won't allow me to post there because I'm a noob. There is some terminology I don't understand from the thread, so I need some assistance.
What I'm reading is that I need to find the rom for my device GT 8.9 wifi only (P7310) and flash it to Odin. Where do I find this rom - does it have to be stock? Can it be one of the custom roms from these pages? How do I flash it?
Thanks in advance for the help of some kind soul out there. I'm kind of panicking here. Please help.
Thanks!

If anyone has this problem in the future and has the GT-7310 Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 wifi only. This is what I used to unbrick: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1406137
More precisely, I downloaded the link at the end of the page, downloaded the link that says: KJ5 for the 7310 (there is also a link for the 7300 version). I only used the sections regarding ODIN3: "FAQ regarding ODIN" and down further in the HOW TO section: [Using ODIN 1.85].
Install Odin via the link downloaded at the bottom of the page.
Download the firmware/rom that is given through the KJ5 link (it takes over an hour to download FYI)
I did not have or use any PIT or CSC files
I booted the tablet into download mode: press power button until Samsung logo appears -> Press the left or upper portion of the rocker button (depending on the orientation you are holding the tablet in) until two icons appear -> press the right/bottom portion of the rocker button to select DOWNLOAD mode -> connect tablet to Windows PC with ODIN3 installed and ON.
In Odin3 select PDA button and look for the firmware you downloaded via the KJ5 link (you will have to unzip the file first using the password: samfirmware.com), click on the .tar file (P7310UEKJ5_P7310XARKJ5_XAR\P7310XARKJ5_P7310UEKJ5_HOME.tar.md5).
With tablet connected to computer and Oden set up as indicated, Oden should detect the tablet and indicate with in yellow in the ID:COM square on the Oden interface. At this point I pushed the start button and let it run until ODEN says "PASS". Then I disconnected and allowed the tablet to auto-reboot. It was a little slower than usual to reboot and I had to manually shut it down and reboot again to get mine to work and the system to fully boot again.
Anyway, I had a lot of trouble sifting through all the terminology and figuring out what was right for the scenario I was experiencing, so I hope this helps some noob out there that was in the same boat I was. Firmware/roms/flashing/etc. I didn't know what any of this was, so someone saying to flash my drive was of no use to me!
Anyway, good luck!

Another "bricked Galaxy Tab" thread :(

Hi people,
I have just got a Galaxy Tab just for kicks. It's a P1000L brazilian one.
I want to unbrand it (it's Claro branded, the operator took out Gmail and Gtalk, also assigned search to Yahoo instead of Google), so I have talked to a friend which also has a Galaxy Tab, same model, but unbranded, all Google apps inside.
My FW is (or was ) P1000LVJJJ4, and his FW is P1000LVJJM9, so I went to this thread at TheGalaxyTabForum, downloaded the P1000LVJJM9 FW, PIT file and ODIN 1.3.
http://www.thegalaxytabforum.com/index.php?/topic/112-samsung-galaxy-tab-firmware-list/
I have read about the process and started doing it. Here's what happened.
I haven't checked the partition option, just put the PIT file and the FW file in the correct fields, put my Tab in download mode, clicked start... and after some time, almost at the end, ODIN failed. My Tab got stuck in download mode, yellow triangle. I got it disconnected from the USB cable, than put it again. Restarted the process, but ODIN got stuck in setup connection.
I took my Tab off the usb cable again, it was still stuck in download mode, yellow triangle. Pressed the power button for a while, it has turned off completely. Now it's bricked, maybe dead. No life signal, nothing happens when I press any button or button combination, nothing is shown when connected to the charger or USB, not recognized in KIES and ODIN, nothing at all.
Is there any hope for me? What can I do to solve this?
i have the same problem, did u get any solution???
Hmm, if nothing happens on screen at all either when you plug it in or hold the power button, that's very bad...
Otherwise, I think the most you can do is either let it charge for I think a few hours and then see what happens
volume down + power
Tab will not respond but plug it in the pc anyway, odin will normally recognize it even without the "android shoveling" screen.
flash stock GB
download all the needed files from this page.

[GUIDE]T-Mobile 10.1 3g Unroot back to Stock!

Hi, I was searching for a long time how to unroot my T-mobile 10.1 Galaxy tab, and I couldn't find anything. Only for the 10.1 wifi only. Didn't find one for T-mobile USA so I just made it! (BAWZ!!)
So here you go!
***Disclaimer: I am NOT responsible for any damages you cause to your device what so ever. This method worked for me but ultimately it is your responsability if anything unexpected occurs while doing this process***
Now that we got that out of the way
*Download original T-Mobile 10.1 firmware from here!
Or from here:
Mirror 1
PREP:
*Basic knowledge of how to enter Download mode and Recovery with and with out CWM.
Just in case: if your already rooted with CWM turn your tab off, press and hold the volume down first and the power key until you get to the Recovery/Download screen.(Remember use volume down (left) to navigate back and fourth and Volume up(right) to make your selection in this screen.
*You must have ODIN on your computer. (you can find this in the development section if you don't have ODIN, which you should if your rooted but if not its back in the development area.
*Need Winzip/7zip or something to extract the zip file. (When you try to unzip it's going to ask you for a password "samfirmware.com" without the quotes.)
credit to who ever uploaded this file. Not really sure but Thanks...
* USB cable/Windows (I used windows 7 32 bit)
*Make sure you have enough battery power on your tab. Mine was at 99% not sure what the minimum required is but I didn't risk it.
3. Extract the zip file you downloaded
4. Open ODIN (I use version 1.85)
5. Put your 10.1 into download mode
6. Connect your tab to PC via USB cable (ODIN should recognize your device in the COMM box, should be in the first box to the left marked with com and then a number)
7. Then check mark PDA and press that button (PDA button), now direct to the MD5 file you extracted. Open it
8. Hit start (Make sure you do not interupt the process by removing the usb cable or anyother thing just wait!)
9. Once ODIN tells you everything was successful you can unplug your 10.1 from the computer
10. Be patient let the tab restart, your going to see the original boot animation from T-Mobile.
***Note***
If your stuck in a boot loop:
1.Press the power key until the tab turns off.
2.Press and hold the volume up, volume down and power key until you get to Recovery/Download screen (let go of all the buttons)
3.Using volume down make sure recovery is selected then press the volume up key to select it.
4.Wait while your tab sets up recovery properly
5.Once you see the recovery menu wipe data/factory reset (I did it three times)
6.Final step select reboot system now. Be patient at this point your tab should restart itself normally.
I wasn't able to find any help on this so I did some looking around and now I have my TAB 10.1 back to original factory without root. I came back from CM9 ICS (needed a working camera) so I'm sure if you do this properly it will work for you to!
You can use this method if you want to change roms from ICS back to honeycomb or what ever. It is highly recommended by the DEV's to unroot and reroot if your gonna be changing roms.
If this post was helpful hit the thanks button!

CWM for S4 active...is this guide correct?

http://techbeasts.com/2013/11/15/in...root-samsung-galaxy-s4-active-gt-i9295-guide/
How to Install CWM Recovery on Galaxy S4 Active:
Put your GS4 GT-I9295 in download mode. To do so, turn off your phone completely and then turn it on by pressing and holding Volume Down + Home + Power key at the same time, you should get a screen showing a warning and asking to continue, press Volume Up to continue.
Now your phone should be in downloading mode. Connect your phone to your PC.
As soon as Odin detects your phone the ID:COM box will turn light blue.
Click on the PDA tab and select the CWM-Recovery-gt-i9295_v1-2.tar.md5 file that you downloaded above.
Your Odin screen should look like exactly as shown below.

The think that caught my attention was CWM, I thought that could not be done since this is a "hacked" ROM?

First things first, do you have the AT&T version (i537) of the S4 Active or the International version (i9525)? If you have the International version there is a CWM thread in the development forums that you could have found by searching. If you have the AT&T version, then you cannot install CWM because the bootloader is locked. There is a workaround though, you can install SafeStrap and have the ability to flash a limited number of ROMs.

[Q] Soft Brick issue

Hi,
First time working with a samsung phone, so im not very used to some samsung realted soft.
I'm doing a favor to a friend, he came to this problem where his phone woudnt boot up, He says one day he run out of battery and coudl never turn it on again.
when i turn it on, it gets stucked at boot image (first attached image), if i try to charge the battery image appears but with the loading logo (the loading logo is not moving), he told me that he also tried with another battery and the same appeared.
For what i've read there is a download mode besides recovery mode. I think i have no problem entering download mode (3rd pic), even though i don't know how to use it, pressing a button does nothing, and pluggin it to a pc (drivers installed it) seems the same.
So i wanted to enter recovery mode, and trying o factory reset it, but when i try to enter most of times nothing happens, the others i get weird screen like the one i attached.
I'm not pretty sure how to preceed now. The only thing that appears to be working is the download mode. If that's the case, how can i flahs the stock firmware on it?
Thanks for reading!

You would do the same thing as if it were custom firmware, goto http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/, and download the stock firmware compatible with the device
Enter the device in download mode and flash the stock firmware with Odin
Instructions by SamMobile self:
Extract (unzip) the firmware file
Download Odin v3.09
Extract Odin zip-file
Open Odin v3.09
Reboot phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Click the start button, sit back and wait a few minute

thanks for the reply, i think i might be doing something wrong, ODIN failed, i attach a screenshot, any idea?
I cannot tell much from the screenshot to be honest, all i can point at would be a newer version of Odin as the instructions told: [LINK TO ODIN 3.09]

Same error as before
im downloading some other firmwares to try, but i dont think there is the problem :s
I've been having this issue for months now. It does that exact thing. Try removing the SIM card and starting the phone as normal and see what happens. If it starts then, we have the exact problem. Mine works perfectly WITHOUT the SIM card but....what's a phone without a SIM card right? I've tried putting the Stock ROM on to no avail as well. I think my thread about this is still somewhere around but I doubt anyone managed to solve the problem either.
If you do work something out post it back. Sorry I couldn't be much help.

[Q] Stuck in bootloop after trying to install a custom ROM, unable to detect the device through ADB/Fastboot [Solved]

Title says it all. But for those that want to know a bit more in detail about what's going on, I tried to install this custom ROM: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-oneui-2-5-twrp-ncx-2-5-for-a71-sm-a715f.4174135/ Clearly I did something wrong (a bit more clarification in that guide would help people not used to rooting an Android device getting through that process easier), so now I want to go to square 1 by installing the stock ROM again. But the thing is, after installing multidisabler through TWRP, the phone is not permanently stuck into a bootloop and now I can't even go into safemode, nor download mode, and I can't enter the recovery mode, the only thing my phone is capable of doing is to restart by itself by holding the volume down and the power buttons at the same time, and now ADB nor Fastboot can't detect my device (the PC does a Samsung device being connected though, so it's not a hardbrick, I guess).
Samsung devices do not use Fastboot. You should restore through Odin instead.
Try the following:
1. Download Odin on your computer, you can get it from here. Extract it into a folder.
2. Download the firmware for your device. Find out your device model first and then look on http://samfw.com, I've downloaded from there a lot in the past, it works great.
3. Extract the firmware, you should get five files: AP, BL, CP, CSC, and HOME_CSC.
4. Make sure your device is powered off, and press power + volume down + bixby. You should be asked to confirm you want to enter download mode, press the volume up button.
5. Plug your device into the computer, then select the files for all the slots. Use CSC, not HOME_CSC for CSC (CSC is for fresh restore, HOME_CSC is for software update).
6. A device should show in the top bar, something like [COM:6]. This means your device is connected. If it isn't there, make sure your device is plugged in and in Download Mode.
7. Click flash. The firmware should start to flash and there should be a progress bar in Download Mode. Once it's finished your device should reboot into the system.

Well, trying to reflash everything through Odin has been a thing I tried to do, but how am I supposed to shutdown a phone that is stuck at the Samsung logo (is there any combination to shutdown a Samsung during the boot process?)? And even after that, how am I supposed to press "power + volume down + bixby" if both the power and bixby buttons are the same buttons?

I tried entering Download Mode hours ago, but to no avail. Even before flashing mutidisabler through TWRP (and thus, the phone was working), I had to use ADB in order to make my phone be able to enter Recovery Mode, since the combo for recovery and download mode just made my phone make a loud noise and restart my phone onto safe mode.
Ok, here's an update, apparently pressing those buttons, makes the screen have the same, but at least Odin recognizes the drive, but now I'm stuck at this error: "Complete(Write) operation failed."
Something's weird here, I'm 99.9% sure I did activate USB debugging for this phone, although that was just before wiping the entire drive before the phone got stuck in this loop.
Fixed. Many thanks to @hainguyenthao for helping me out ^^

I'm sorry to hear that you had trouble installing the ROM and I'm glad you were able to fix it.
I unfortunately can't see a way that I could make the tutorial on how to install the ROM any easier. I'm almost certain I covered all my bases going over the perquisites and how to install the ROM. I also have a Telegram group in that thread so that users can join if they are ever stuck in any of the steps so that either me or other users that have successfully installed the ROM can help people in doubt since I'm not available 100% of the time. If you ever decide to give it a try again, don't be shy, you can always join the group and request for help.
