Stats
A clean install is always recommended.
However, you can install updates on previous ROM, but remember to wipe Dalvik Cache.
While upgrading to a newer version, flashing Google Apps is must.
F.A.Q:
Q. What is changed from original AOKP?
A. Tweaks:
ADFree Hosts
egl.cfg tweak to disable Graphic Driver
SD Card optimization
Zipaligned apk's for better RAM Usage
Batch deodexed
Graphical Tweaks:
Changed ROM Control icon in the Settings Menu and ROM Control Menu
Changed Bootanimation
Optimized PNG's using the APKTool
New Icons in ROM Control, derived from ICS
Q. Are you stealing Romanbb's work?
A. I've always mentioned him for his great work, and the project is fully open, so I can 'legally' make a tweaked-based off ROM.
Q. Why are you using Matr1x kernel? Still stealing someone else work?
A. No, because mathkid PM'ed me and asked me if I can include his kernel in this, I accepted.
Q. How's battery life?
A. It's awesome.
Q. If I found any bug in the ROM, where should I complain?
A. Here.
Q. What is 'NW' & 'W'?
A. If the file has 'NW', it means full wipe is not required. But if it has 'W', full wipe is recommended.

Thanks! Will give this a shot. Cheers from the Philippines

Gonna trye it, thnx, lot of specs to

Downloaded off rootzwiki earlier today, one work for this Bravo!

Never has my phone felt less masculine then with this boot animation

Build 15...uploading now....

This customization in this ROM is very impressive. So far the only thing I'd like to see are a few more notification widget toggles, like Airplane Mode/Screen Lock/Sound Toggle/etc.
A few things I noticed: Power Saver doesn't show up in Power Menu when option is checked, the word "Rotate" is partially covered by the notification toggle to its right, and LED options were left in the ROM Control menu (probably for the GN?). Minor stuff though. Can't wait to try out battery life with Power Saver.

Build 15??? I can't wait!!!

I think it is great that you are adding extra things to the rom, but don't you think naming it build 15 will cause confusion ? What if Roman updates his rom, it will also be called build 15.

I forgot to remove youtube.apk from system/app folder, knowing that cause a problem..You will notice that it`s reported as installed under manage app/all but it`s not present in the application drawer and when you go to download it you can`t remove it - download it or update it..!!
So who has already flash the rom please do these three simple step to solve it :
1. Download titanium backup
2. from backup/restore tab, find youtube and click wipe date and then unistall.
3. go to market again and re-download it.
PS: if u get any FC when u 1st launch youtube just go back to titanium backup and wipe data again.
Sorry for the mismatched guys..already fixed it and uploading again!

I see. My fully loaded phone shows 95 % right now.
I wonder if that is an improvement in the end, but let's see where this goes. I feel that there's speed improvement with the new kernel, as far as I can judge from the few minutes of using it. Apps start faster, and changing between them is more smooth.
But is it possible that the automatic backlight is changing more frequently than in the former version?

hei as always awesome work! I came from 18-31 and i had some issues you said to go to 19 (as it's better) I just did, wipe cache, wipe delvik, and non wipe. worked smooth, I did a phone call and work, after that i couldn't make anymore phone calls, i flash again this time wipe cache, wipe delvik and full wipe again went smooth but still cannot make any calls, i already try manually to look for mobile networks but nothing, i did mobile network automatic and says i have reception (full bars) but doens't have the 3G thingy. Should flash again with different RIL (i'm using at the moment 2XX 10b)? HELP!
ps. I also get notifications that 'contacts' stop working, and other apps 'stop working' while i'm using the phone...

[MOD][TEST] BlackCNA NiNja M0D3 [18-09-2012] - test version for ParanoidAndroid added

This is not visual mod or theming and so posted in Android Development section.
As we all are aware there is memory leak issue with JB Roms (may not be experienced in some case), so I decided to play with framework jars and mod them to optimize RAM management.
I had used Advanced Task Killer on JB Rom and problems became grave, I needed to restart device after every hour.
So freeing the RAM in that way didn't work at all.
So, I decided to try reverse and let maximum multitasking take place (ofcourse, with optimal RAM free for launching new activities)
This can be done customizing ADJ parameters.
ICS or JB doesn't read ADJ values from build.prop or local.prop - so they are hardcoded into services.jar!
Moreover, after patching the services.jar for OOM priority... kernel overrides few needed parameters and even init.d wont help in such case.
So, I have created APK file which will do all the dirty work for you
Click to collapse
Ninja Mode features:
Maximum Overdrive:
As mentioned earlier, it's optimal usage of RAM for maximum multitasking intended to control memory leak.
The ROM experience will get much snappier than before even with too many apps!!
Optimized Framework:
The framework of the ROM is now PNG optimized. This will increase performance as load time should decline.
Fastest ZipAlign:
The normal zipalign option in ROM is slow as it zipaligns all apps everytime.
The method used here is different and it checks new apps if available and zipaligns!
Database Optimization:
The database files are reindexed and vaccumed. This may fasten your overall app experience.
3G Booster:
Lot's of tweak for data connection!
SdCard Read Ahead value boost
Dalvik Heap Size limit increased
Least of ads in any app (latest 'hosts')
... and many other minor tweaks...
Caution:
This mod is only for BlackCNA and is under testing.
First flash the CWM and then install the app manually.
First reboot will take little longer time as it will zipalign all apks and fix permissions.
Using this app on other ROM is not recommended as framework needed to be patched.
To uninstall this mod, uninstall the app and you will need to flash the ROM again (without wipe will do.)
Installation:
Make sure you are on BlackCNA v1.2 ROM
Flash the base via CWM and reboot.
Install the "Ninja Mode" apk manually and activate it!
Reboot one time...
Planned updates:
Customizable tweaks
Better UI for APK (This is my first app with code from scratch!! :silly
Support for other ROMS ?
Remember, this mode is under TEST and under development!

F.A.Q:
Q: What is this bionic that you speak of?
A: I'm going to let morfic answer this.
morfic said:
bionic is the "libc" of android, there are hardware optimized memcpy/memset and a few others for cortex-a9 and/or armv7-a, but also others specifically for krait, using those instead of stock bionic versions perform the same job a lot better than the more generic versions in aosp.
That affects memory throughput significantly and anything where you move data and need memory throughput using those functions will benefit from it.
there are other (math) functions that can be optimized more for the particular hardware
hope this helps

Q: Can you pleeeeeease put in theme chooser?? Please????
A: No. No. NO!
Q: Why not?!?!
A: Because this ROM is meant to be as close as stock as possible with none to minimal tweaks. If you want theme chooser, there are many wonderful ROMs out there that has it.
Q: Then can you add _________?
A: Depends on if I think it is necessary. Ask in this thread. I'll reply with my response and see if it is possible.
Q: What kernel should I use with this ROM?
A: Hmm, that's like saying what should I put on my salad. Seriously, it's all on your "taste". You own a nexus for crying out loud! There are so many wonderful devs in this nexus community. You have no idea how lucky you are. I came from a Motorola triumph. Man there were like 5 devs.. That's it. All of them are great and their kernels are as well.
Q: OMG!! I love your ROM blah blah. Where can I donate?
A: Please don't. I do this for the community. I do it for free. I'm too young to be accepting donations anyways. I'm glad you like and enjoy my ROM. If you like it, please press thanks as it's there for a reason and vote 5 stars for this thread That's all I want on return.
Re: [ROM] Bionic AOSP/ Stock ROM
Downloading now, I love stock ROMs that are tweaked... Not one for theming etc.
Thank you for sharing your work with us. I'm excited to see where this project goes!

Running great so far! Thank you very much for a clean stock ROM.
Not bugs or anything, but I noticed under About phone it states Android 4.2, not Android 4.2.1. Also for some reason I have two Calendar apps (AOSP & Play Market Version). For gapps, I installed gapps-jb-20121212-signed.zip.
Edit: Or maybe this is JOP40C/4.2?
Re: [ROM] Bionic AOSP/ Stock ROM
I got it, thanks. I downloaded the update-supersu.zip and flashed it. All is good now.

Blazing fast build..... Well built! Not sure I can live long term work no customizations, but it is interesting to see pure AOSP stretch it's legs.

So this has both Linaro AND Bionic patches?

I'm considering adding the customizations in rasbean into here.. Like am/pm battery % navigation bar height and customization..I'm not sure though. I like it the way it is right now though. I never thought I would miss pure aosp this much. No offense to rascarlo.

Any chance of adding the h+ icons? I think that plus the cm battery would make this ROM perfect.

I don't use many, but nav bar height/color is probably the most important to me.

I'll second the navbar height and CM battery. I completely disable the navbar and just use gesture controls. It is your ROM though.
Does anyone know of a flashable zip to get rid of the navbar?

For me it does not load the mediafire page at all.

[14/4]Update v4(2000+ downloads)[GPL][rom/odexed/AOKP] uber spb P+

i am pretty sure you have friends that have high end phones. Also you surely might have bragged about the latest android 4.2.2 on your little mini while their s3 or note2 is stuck on ics or jb 4.1.
Though we have cm10.1 but according to my experience its a bit unreliable yet one of the best roms out there .
I thought that as stock roms are odexed for better stability performance as well as battery life maybe i should try it put with cm 10.1 and see the results well the results were pretty good so i decided to share it with you guys
NOTE:If you dont know what odex and deodex are then i suggest you google the terms and read a bit about it.
This ROM is under GPL and its source code can be found HERE
The name is not a rip off from spb shell or spb tv
stability +performance+battery life =SPB
anyway the ui is exactly same.
There is no difference however between rohans cm10.1 and mine except for the fact that this rom is odexed and a bit slimmer thus giving a bit better output .
I have included some tweaks and also tried to port the para4 tweak not sure if successful but music should be pretty good.
this is still a beta ie work in progress
whats working
everything!!
V4 PERFORMANCE PLUS AVAILABLE
features
around 100%odexed (i
init.d scripts and tweaks
sysctl.conf tweaks for fast networks
and many more cause its easy to forget
Change log v2
New tweaks
Fixed baseband error for Indian telecommunications (mainly for bsnl users)
Fully 100% odexed
Themes completely work
And updated to android 4.2.2
Gapps Pre included to prevent errors
And much more .....
Changelog v3
File manager now included:fingers-crossed:
Now you can also run the phone as half odexed and half deodexed
A surprise for those who like black
Much more powerful than the previous version:angel:
Fixed deep sleep errors (occured for some people)
Completely resized (credits to darkpassenger)
Patched by jelly scream patcher...
And much more.....
Changelog V4 P+:
changed base to aokp
super odexing for faster access
pre enabled entropy generator at max value
auto dormancy
no lockscreen bug
performance plus a must try
returned to V2 ui
many more cant remember
V4 P+ bugs:
ringtone gets reset after boot
no launcher settings in settings
a bit different from cm10.1
no network location ...hardly used (use gps instead more acurate and less battery consuming)
fused location FC twice on boot(ignore it)
you tell me
V4 P+ Installation
you must have some cwm in your phone before flashing
1. reboot to recovery
2.wipe data
3.wipe cache
4.wipe dalvik cache and battery stats
5.install V4 P+
6.repeat 2,3,4
7.reboot
8.wait for at least 10 minutes to boot. First boot takes time.
9.after you reach home screen wait for at least 5 minutes for the phone to check everything for errors and try to fix them
10. use as daily driver and be happy
more to come in next build
GAPPS included
thank you

As i promised here are the settings
NOTE: these are the settings that i use and may or may not work for you. each gal mini is unique in its way ....mine is weak:silly:
so here they are
a lockscreen ui bug exists but (will fix in next build) a work around for now>>sttings>>lockscreen>>maximise widgets ticked
now when you start the phone you can see a lock below just kepp it touched for a second to unlock the phone..
settings>>about phone>>tap build number continuosly to enable developer settings:good:
now settings>>development>>show all anrs ticked and also enable usb debugging
settings>>performance>>enable 16 bit tranceparency
disable surface dithering
>>memory management>>zram disabled and enable the other two
settings>>performance>>cpu settings>> max=729 min=245 governer=smartassv2
these are the settings now for extra enhancements
1. TRY Bravia Engine V2 shared by f4uzan in themes and apps section
2. Seeder is good for lag reduction but eats up battery (not much though)
3.You may also try to use pimp my rom tweaks while some of them are pre-included
4.MUST TRY RAM manager pro (paid but worth it) set it to more multitasking
5.Dont expect too much of me or your mini after all its an old phone and did (does ,will do) great......(its a mini not an S4)
last one
i see u posted it..well gud luck, hope u make a good modified cm 10.1

did odexing help as in does it actually allow for a faster and better system(yes i know what odex and deodex mean).
also what all did you remove. And what all is odexed.

Yes... Odexing makes system fast because device does not need to access dalvik cache for every app in /system.
98% odexed which means only systemui.apk and some other app are left so that themeing works.

Sometimes it works for example systemui is not odexed in next release for theming and still it works but you should try for yourself though the chances for non system apps are not much.
