[Q] HELP!!!! bricked after 'Flashing the Recovery' with ROM Manager - Galaxy MINI - Samsung Galaxy Mini

My phone got bricked after Flashing ClockWorkMOD using ROM Manager.
It seems to be a hard brick; No display, don't know if its charging, but when 'VOL UP, VOL DOWN, HOME & POWER' (I think it goes to 'Emergency Download Mode' but the screen is off) is pressed, the PC detects it and shows the 1st Image below. Odin detects it as like the Image 2 below. But gets STUCK like the 3rd image and I've also attached the message that ODIN gives!
Please help Thanks!!!

Never using ROM Manager again once is enough!!!! Phhh!
If you want me to use different firmwares then i've tried it but if you want me to do something else then please elaborate. Thanks.

I think I need to find a way to get ODIN to be in good contact with my phone!
I've got Ubuntu, if it would help I could use it! Cuz I see developers using it on youtube, and Ubuntu & Android are both Linux Based!!!

i had similar promlem, stuck on connection and it was usb problem.Try on some other pc

Your phone is hard bricked. bootloader wrong.phone cannot boot.
Go to service center and talk fake story . if you lucky , wanarity center will acpect your phone

My galaxy mini was also bricked by rom manager tried all solutions an looked into jig method i had warrant so told samsung was syncing with keys and all went dead theye fixed an had it back to me in 10 days with a letter saying they found the problem and fixed also installed latrst firmware witch was froyo this was a o2 locked phone witch i can also confirm u can flash with gingerbread then any custom rom for our minis. Now using emanon v4 removed rom manager as sgalaxy mini is not supported

unfortunately there's no solution but sending it to the technical service

[Q] Odin stuck at: <1> setup connection...

I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830, with the following info:
- Android Version: 2.2.1
- Baseband Version: S5830JXKC1
- Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9-perf
- Build Number: Froyo.JPKC2
- Connected to a Laptop running Windows 7 Enterprise fully updated with hotfixes, updates and drivers.
I’m tying to Install the new gingerbread 2.3.4 update from samfirmware, but every time I run Odin and try to update, the process stops at: <1> setup connection...
I tried to:
- Use a different laptop.
- Use a different cable.
- Use a newer version of Odin (old was 4.38, new is 4.42).
- Kill the Kies processes in my laptop using task manager.
- Update Kies to the latest version.
- Uninstall Kies and it's related files.
- Update my laptop motherboard and USB drivers.
- Reinstall the Samsung Mobile Phone USB drivers.
- Select different settings in Odin (Debugging mode / PDA mode... etc).
none of the above worked
help?
If you did this question may sound stupid but I should ask anyway...
Did you boot to download mode?
How to put into download mode
1. On an OFF state, press VolumeDown+HomeButon+Powerbutton (hold them together until you see the download mode screen (small yellowish/gold/orange color)
Hope we were able to help you.
It worked
Okay, your question was not stupid, I do feel stupid however :/ apparently I was doing this:
- Holding Down Volume Up + Volume Down + Home Button + Power Button!
It loads a screen that says "Emergency Download Mode", which I assumed was the correct loading screen since it does show on Odin...
I was wrong; I should have just done this:
- Holding down Volume Down + Home Button + Power Button!
In which it does load the correct download screen with the yellowish message that say "Downloading…"
Thanks a million guys, this one gave me a heart attack yesterday

Something is messed up with your PC's USB drivers. Get an updated set of your Chipset drivers for your motherboard, uninstall and reinstall Kies, or switch to a different PC.

Finally the problem is from the PC, probably some USB device clash with odin. After using another PC, I am able to flash my ace now.

Hope u guys know the correct name of the ops file of the respective phone. Nearly half of the issues have been solved just by renaming the ops file.
But there are some more critical cases too:sly:

[Q] device not recognised / cannot install driver W7 64-bit

I'm having problems with my Galaxy S GT-I9000. First, the history, in case that offers any clues. [I should say, "The history as far as I know it." The phone was given to me from someone's proverbial 'sock drawer'; it could have been there for a reason...]
It was running crap with stock firmware (couldn't delete files or pictures [well, they would delete, but they'd always come back], had a hard time writing files [they would write (sometimes) but then disappear (though not immediately)], tons of 'Force close' messages for apps, couldn't change G-Mail account, etc., etc., etc.). I used Kies to update the firmware to 2.3.6. When this was completed I seem to remember some message about not being able to go back to the firmware I updated from. Unfortunately, I didn't write that message down. I figured the new Samsung firmware would fix things.
However, the problems persisted with the new Samsung / Kies-provided firmware. At that point I decided to try third party firmware, specifically Cyanogen 7.2.0. I followed the instructions at the wiki[dot]cyanogenmod[dot]org/w/Install_CM_for_galaxysmtd site (sorry, apparently I'm not able to post external links as a new user). Heimdall put Semaphore's CWM on just fine, and I can still boot into it no problem. I then tried to flash the ROM from the internal SD card (though it took a few tries to copy it there successfully [see write problems referred to above]). It didn't work... It got to Andy on the blue skateboard, but then just looped. And looped and looped and looped... I then tried install the ROM from an external SD card. This seemed to get farther (Andy hung around longer on the first boot after flashing than previously), but it still ended up looping.
I tried the Troubleshooting instructions in the cyanogenmod site referred to above (basically, a different Recovery version). The new Recovery installed fine, but Cyanogen did not... Same boot loop.
I'd like to try to use ADB to push the ROM back to the internal SD card, but now my computer doesn't install the drivers for Galaxy S when I plug it into USB. I have tried to re-install "SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe" (v. 1.5.27.0), but it still doesn't get the right driver (Win 7-64). "Galaxy S" shows up in Device Manager, under "Other Devices", when I plug it in, but with a yellow triangle and no valid driver.
I've read a bit about internal memory issues with the Galaxy S. Am I banging my head against the wall with this phone? Does it sound like the internal memory is hooped? Is there any fix if it is? It seems to me that, following the instructions, a flash should work. Since it isn't, I'm beginning to think that it's not able to write/read what it needs to to/from internal memory...
If any of that twigs your memory for a suggestion as to how to proceed, please let me know. I've tried a lot, but probably not everything... Thanks for listening.

For first issue download win 7 drivers from My Android Collections, also for fixing USB problems follow this as for your basic problem, what you seem to indicate is a corrupted Internal SD card, to solve that you need to use only the External SD card by this method

Unable to backup my IMEI/NV data

Hi, I just got this I-9305 a week ago and I finally wanted to mess around with it a bit, it's been rooted since day one with no problems but after reading around the stickies a bit it seems like backing up my "IMEI/NV" data, whatever that is, is pretty important before flashing anything on my phone. ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1946915 )
I followed all the steps in that thread to a T but when I get to the part where you add a new port it doesn't seem to see my device or display the correct ports
this is what I see

Does anyone know a fix for this? I'm willing to provide whatever more info about the phone that would be needed.
Thanks in advance.

Yeah I used it to install some apks.
So your PC can see your phone okay, then try another version of Odin.
Maybe remove your drivers, reboot the PC and then reinstall them
I had this also just unpluged usb from phone and put it back in and it showed up.
So either it's dodgy drivers in which case reinstall or get a better usb lead...

Huawei Ascend W1 ROM flashing

Hi,,
I have just tried flashing a ROM on the Ascend W1 and I am getting an error, which has oviously rendered my device unusable. It does vibrate when trying to turn it on, but screen is black.
I was working with eMMC Software Download app, activated "Program Boot Loaders" and loaded a XML-file. Then I clicked on Download, as shown in the video of windowsmania.pl and in their instructions. I got the message:"Download completed - no errors detected" and my device is correctly recognized as Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 9006. In the eMMC Software Download app it is listed as Qualcomm MMC Storage USB Device, which should also be correct. Still, the device status is shown simply as "error" instead of "writable". The Download button is not clickable. I have tried it with two different PCs, one with Windows 7 and another with Windows 8.
What am I doing wrong?
What does this mean and could anyone who has experience with this issue please help me out?

I found a way to solve this issue, but I have no idea why it worked.
I installed Windows 7 32-bit on my PC, installed the drivers, restarted and it was instantly recognized as Qualcomm (whatever) 9006.
So I started QPST Software Download app and I was able to download it. It seems that I had to use a 32bit operating system and not Windows 8, at least it looks like that. The Download button wasn't clickable and the device status has shown error on Windows 8 64bit and Windows 7 64bit. It was writable in 32bit. Hope this helps someone out.
Right click the eMMC Software Download and choose run as Windows XP Service Pack 2, this should do the trick

You need to run as administrator
Huawei W1 does nothing as expected during flashing..
My W1-U00 started having problems with loading apps..whenever I tried to load my photos or weather channel app or whatever it looked like it tried to load the app but it redirected me on home screen. After a few days I had a problem with the space on device and some updates it needed so I tried to uninstall some of the apps but when I did so and restarted the phone the apps where back again. Since that point it's impossible to uninstall any app,impossible to reset the phone from the settings>about>reset phone and impossible to hard reset the device, I tried all the possible ways to do a hard reset but nothing, it just restarts like nothing happened and I get no sprockets logo. So after a few months I decided to reflash my device. Everything went smooth but after I clicked on the download button of the eMMC Software Download app instead make my device recognized by my pc as Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 9006 the device restarts as normal and nothing happens. It's impossible to make it work, I tried all the methods available online but nothing...Any ideas??

How to UNBRICK HTC desire 626 (When all else fails!!!)

This is made for the AT&T HTC desire 626, But It should work with other similar 'desire' phones,
just download the image for the model you own.
(Note: the buttons for 'download mode' and 'force reboot' should be similar for most models, look it up if needed)
So after spending around 8 hours trying to unbrick this phone, I finally found a working method!
This is a combo of about 6 guides, and some of my own work. so I'll credit who I can remember.
This guide is not meant to be noob friendly, it expects you to have at least some knowledge of android, and flashing.
Anyway, You'll need a few things.
1. Good Quality Micro USB cord
2. HTC sync manager (official link)
3. Stock Rom
(official links) find your model, and carrier.
-----
How to unbrick!
(NOTE, this will DELETE ALL DATA, including the built in storage for music/videos)
Step 1: Enter Download mode
unplug your phone, power off, and boot into Download mode, Hold: [Power]+[Volume Down]
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Step 2: run the installer for HTC sync manager. (this will install the drivers we need)
Step 3: uninstall HTC sync manager. (only sync manager, we need to keep the drivers)
Step 4: Pause your anti-virus program, or allow the stock image flashing program.
Yes, I know how shady that sounds, double check the link, it's an official HTC program.
And yes, flashing firmware over USB is NOT something most programs often need to too. it makes sense it's treated as a virus.
If you're really worried, use a spare PC. [works on windows only]
Step 5: Connect to your phone via USB.
Make sure any other android devices are disconnected.
And if possible connect directly to the main USB ports, avoid using an (external) USB hub
Step 6: Start Flashing!
Run the Flashing program, the name starts with:
Code:
RUU_
It may take some time to startup, and you'll need to give it admin rights.
To proceed, you'll just need to keep clicking 'Next',
You'll have to agree to some terms, and eventually you'll see the "upgrade" button, click that to start the process.
It will now start flashing your phone, Your phone may reboot a few times,
and the progress bar will fill up to 100% more than once.
(it flashes each part individually, 'Boot image'. 'system', etc)
The whole process should not take very long, it should be done in well under an hour.
The main program will tell you when it's complete.
The phone will automatically reboot, and the phone will be returned to stock!
Notes:
-This will remove root, or any custom, recovery
-If you plan to sell the phone, please note, this dose not unregister the phone from your google account.
IF you want to sell the phone, re-setup the phone as normal. Then, sign in to your google account, and manually remove it
-This dose NOT re-lock your bootloader.
To re-lock, go back to download mode, and run:
Code:
fastboot oem lock
-I am writing this after only 4 hours of sleep, so expect some grammar errors.
And I don't remember all of the buttons prompts from the flashing prompt. but it's very straight forward.
----
Here are some issues I had when following other guides online, this may help some with similar issues.
---
1. phone stuck at HTC logo screen, can't force power down!
Answer: Hold [power] +[volume up] for 10 seconds, that will reboot the phone
2. I Can't get the software to run. (closes after a few seconds)
Answer: If you're running bit defender, it will block the program, unblock it, then turn off bit defender.
3. I can't get the program to run at all!
