[Q] Cyanogenmod LG Widgets - LG Optimus 2x

Hi,
I'm trying to get some of my LG Widgets work under CM 7, but it doesn't work.
I placed them in /system/app/ but they aren't showing up in the Widget Picker and therefore I can't place them on my Homescreen.
Any idea what to do?

But that's based on official LG v20M Gingerbread 2.3.4, isn't it? So I guess, he didn't had problems porting them.

How did you do that if i may ask ?

I've been looking for the weather/clock home widgets in particular for CM9. I've placed the apk in system/app and set permissions, and they do show up in the widget picker. The problem I have is that only the 2x2 weather widget is working, I receive 'error loading widget' when i place either the 4x2 or 4x3 widgets on my homesreen.

If anyone's still interested with this, you might wanna try Go Weather. Works like a charm.

i only know from a working LG keyboard under CM7!

it is need the transplant.

Tried Go weahter. Nice but not the same, LG UI" weather/clock looks much nicer

there is a go skin lg styla but widget of lg ui is better.

Maybeyou should install appwidgetpicker from the Android Market and you can position your widgets (LG also) in the homescreen.
Else you can google Home Selector and install the APK file.
I use appwidgetpicker....works very well
Hope this helps. Thanks
Thank you for your quick reply! can i find appwidgetpicker in android market?
Found it! And it worked just perfect... Thank you so much!

Go Launcher EX problems with Weather widgets !

Hi people! I am new here and i searched for solution in this and other forums for android but i didn't find nothing! Here is the problem:
Yesterday I installed GO launcher EX and i am very happy it's just so much beautiful than LG launcher (stock). Then i tried to import my Clock and weather (LG clock) to Go launcher and i couldn't, so decided to download other widget. I looked in forums and i found that Go weather, beautiful widgets and fancy widgets are very beautiful. So decidet to download them. Firstly i downloaded GO weather. Then i downloaded some skins for it (LG Skin and HTC Skin) and HD videos , Live wallpaper theme pack 1. I clicked on Apply and nothing happends i can't see difference and i dont have animation when i unlock my phone, even i cant see my skins (LG and HTC) and i am staying with stock.
Then decided to download fancy and beautiful widgets. Downloaded them both then downloaded animations for beautiful widgets then tried to use them. I clicked on advanced settings (beautiful widgets) then Unlock Animations and clicked on mark. It explains me how it can be annoying for some people and i click on continue, then apply and i go to my home screen. Then i lock and unlock my phone and i can't see any animations !!! Nothing happends. The same story with Fancy widgets i click on unlock animation and absolutly nothing happends. Then i gone back to my LG launcher and tried back my old LG widget and it works when i unlock phone i see clouds ... (or sun or snow..). Tryed to put beautiful widgets on my LG launcher but they still do nothing...
Please help me to launch some weather animations in my "GO Launcher"
(beautiful widgets version is 3.65 and it's downloaded from here: "filecrop . com" while fancy widgets are some cracked version which i downloaded from a bulgarian forum)
You should try appwidgetpicker (google it): with this you can use stock LG widgets in another launcher, especially weather one.
Omg you are comming on xda saying you are using pirated apps and want help to make them work? :O. Lolzzzzz. Mod will be happy to read you

Is it possible to run the Motorola Widget?

I found "THIS" one and tryed to launch but with my Novalauncher it's not possible ;(
Only the Launcher that comes with this widget will work together.
Now my Question is....is it possible to convert this apk?
I LOVE THIS THEME from the watch and wheater....and NO "One More Lock Widget" in the Playstore is no alternative because it looks not so good and has much more Battery Drain ;(
THX for Help!

I don't think it can be converted to work with other launchers. Sony's widgets haven't worked on other launchers for years now and nobody (that I know of) has got them working on other launchers.
Shouldn't this be in the Q&A section?
Is it not possible to change the Settings in the APK?
Or to "say" the APK it's the right launcher?
I created 2 thread about this widget. And it is impossible to make the widget working on non-Motorola launcher.

[Q] Circles widget 3d party launcher, picasa gallery sync?

Two separate issues, I have found after swapping my Nexus S (horribly slow since -stock!- Jelly Bean update) to the -really great!- Razr i:
- I prefer Launcher8 to the stock launcher, it is very snappy, good looking on my Razr i.. but I really miss that beautiful Circles widget. If I try to add it to the Launcher8 homescreen, it says '3d party launchers not supported', very annoying. Any workaround/ solution for this problem; to install circles widget (native on the Razr i) to 3d party launchers?
- I had Picasa sync of my Gallery on my Nexus S (really don't know when it came, how I have got it, thought it was stock), and I miss it on my Razr i. Any way to sync my Picasa (or now Google+) albums with the phone gallery?
Any help/ idea/ solution is welcome; thanks in advance.

Try This one. It has several clock widgets including a Circles look-alike.
Motorola's circle widget is bound to the Motorola Launcher, so you have to chose a similar looking widget from the store (admitting that none of them is as good as the Motorola one )

Yes, thanks, I have seen One More Clock Widget Free, as well.. But, 1, it is HUGE, 2, according to the reviews it is a battery killer.. So I think I better stay w/o the beautiful Circles widget, on Launcher8..
BTW: anybody, any suggestion, idea about my other issue: Picasa web album sync on the Razr i? Would love to have it again..
Isn't Picasa tied to Google+ now? At least, Picasaweb is. Maybe you should try logging into the Google+ app in order to sync your photos? You can disable notifications and stuff from Google+ in the app settings in case you don't need that much integration.

Motorala decided to disable the picasa sync in the stock motgallery.apk. Why? I don't know
you can use the original android gallery instead if you are rooted:

I use the just pictures app from the market. works fine and is free.

My solution to get a similar Circles in Apex Launcher was to install UCCW then a skin named UCCW Skin - MotoBlur Clock. It's not perfect but works for me.

Can be; and it looks like.. but; there is no launcher like Launcher8 (https://play.google.com/store/apps/...?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5seC5sYXVuY2hlcjgiXQ..), it looks, works great on my Razr i.. so I have to do without circles widget..:crying:
Actually, IMHO this is the one getting closest to The Original: Rings Digital Weather Clock (https://play.google.com/store/apps/...lkZ2V0cy5idWJibGVkaWdpdGFsd2VhdGhlcmNsb2NrIl0.).. but it drains battery.

The skin I mentioned is locked, but you can make your own in skin in UCCW, I will make a comment to the developer to see if he can include more hotspots, which are useful though.
EDIT: My bad... I didn't see the developer includes a link to the uzip (which you can modify), I will download it to put more hotspots in weather and battery.

[Q] CM10 Lock Clock

Plz let me know if there is any way to make my cLock Home and Lock screen of cm10 rom like cm10.1 as you see in this threat: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2186734. Unfortunately this threat is only for android 4.2 users
I made my desk clock like cm10.1 using this desk clock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1969617 , but i want to make my lock clock - Home & Lock screen widget look like cm10.1 too.
Tnx.
Hi there,
It's impossible to make this at your lockscreen as you're running cm10 which based on 4.1
As I see this you have 2 alternatives:
1. install a CM10.1 based rom.
2. install a lockscreen app that supports adding widgets like "widget locker". I guess with this method you'll also need dashclock or any widget that has the attributes you were looking for.

Dashclock doesn't support 4.1.x.
But yeah, Widgetlocker would really be your alternative, maybe some UCCW skins or something like that would replicate the CM10.1 cLock...

- I don't want upgrade to cm10.1 rom

I'm not sure that you can't install dashclock(as I'm on 4.2) because it's possible to place the widget on your homescreen as well. That's exactly why I said the above quote..
the widget locker is only so you'll be able to place any widget you'd like at your lock screen.

To answer your question once and for all, I don't think it'd be possible to get the CM10.1 lockscreen- at least, accurately- on CM10.
The best you could do would be to replace the lockscreen clock fonts in CM10 with the font used for the CM10.1/Deskclock/cLock clock. That way at least your lockscreen clock will look like it (minus the function of widgets on the lockscreen).
Aside from this I don't think there is any other way to replicate the CM10.1 lockscreen clock, and even then I'm not sure this method will actually work. The lockscreen's coded directly into the framework I believe and so will take a bit of work.

I'm sorry, but I don't know which fonts determine the lockscreen clock fonts...
My guess- based on stock/other versions of Android- would be a font with Clock in the title, eg. Clockopeia or somethin like that. I haven't looked into editing fonts manually before, so I can't really help here :/
