[Q] CM10 Lock Clock - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Plz let me know if there is any way to make my cLock Home and Lock screen of cm10 rom like cm10.1 as you see in this threat: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2186734. Unfortunately this threat is only for android 4.2 users
I made my desk clock like cm10.1 using this desk clock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1969617 , but i want to make my lock clock - Home & Lock screen widget look like cm10.1 too.
Tnx.

Hi there,
It's impossible to make this at your lockscreen as you're running cm10 which based on 4.1
As I see this you have 2 alternatives:
1. install a CM10.1 based rom.
2. install a lockscreen app that supports adding widgets like "widget locker". I guess with this method you'll also need dashclock or any widget that has the attributes you were looking for.

Dashclock doesn't support 4.1.x.
But yeah, Widgetlocker would really be your alternative, maybe some UCCW skins or something like that would replicate the CM10.1 cLock...

- I don't want upgrade to cm10.1 rom
- Dashclock widget app is only for android 4.2.
- Widget locker has not cm10.1 lock clock theme.
Any way?

I'm not sure that you can't install dashclock(as I'm on 4.2) because it's possible to place the widget on your homescreen as well. That's exactly why I said the above quote..
the widget locker is only so you'll be able to place any widget you'd like at your lock screen.

To answer your question once and for all, I don't think it'd be possible to get the CM10.1 lockscreen- at least, accurately- on CM10.
The best you could do would be to replace the lockscreen clock fonts in CM10 with the font used for the CM10.1/Deskclock/cLock clock. That way at least your lockscreen clock will look like it (minus the function of widgets on the lockscreen).
Aside from this I don't think there is any other way to replicate the CM10.1 lockscreen clock, and even then I'm not sure this method will actually work. The lockscreen's coded directly into the framework I believe and so will take a bit of work.

I'm sorry, but I don't know which fonts determine the lockscreen clock fonts...
My guess- based on stock/other versions of Android- would be a font with Clock in the title, eg. Clockopeia or somethin like that. I haven't looked into editing fonts manually before, so I can't really help here :/

Install different lockscreens?

Hey Guys,
Looking for some new lockscreens. Would really like the froyo 2.2 lockscreen from the droid x or D2. I like the looks of those slider bars.
Does anyone know if this is available or ones like it?
I dont know if its possible to replace the actual system lockscreens ... I know that WidgetLocker has those Motorola Froyo Lockscreen Setups, but well, its a external solution, the internal Lockscreen will not be replaced at all ...
one is called Lockbot

Awesome this is exactly what I was looking for. It works great, thanks for the tip, loving my new lockscreen now.
batmania15: since the latest lockscreen gestures update (in CM 0.04-10.11.29) I'm not using the unlock bars at all. You should check it out...

I tried the lockscreen gestures but didnt like them. I had one set for S and one set for B and everytime I drew the B it launched the one for S.
The default sensitivity was set too low, you could simply fix it for you by setting it to 3 or higher.
In 0.04-10.11.29, the default is now 3.

i think widget locker is a perfect choice
i m using it since i got the phone
While Widget Locker is a nice feature to have I think the Milestone just can't handle it. 256mb and if you throw a few widgets on it or a few widgets in your Launcher Pro/ADw, your home screen will redraw 24/7. I noticed like a 2x redraw rate with WidgetLocker. It's nice, but our phones can't handle it.
Need 512mb ram damnit.
sorry to hi-jack, but aren't you the Batmania15 from the MOTO Milestone support forums?
Any word on official FroYo?
i have another sort of question about lockscreen.
is there a way to have a picture on lockscreen different to the background picture?
You can set an alternative wallpaper i widget locker for the lock screen

Nadlabak,
The gesture lockscreen is great! Thanks for this.
Is it possible to use your gestures lock instead of standard Android visible pattern functionality? I mean to secure lock screen via gesture only. I ask because if you turn it on, then you can use gesture OR standard swipe unlock (so it's not securing the phone).
Thanks in advance for any sugestions!
Yes, you can turn off standard unlock slider option in the cyanogen settings.

Honeycomb Style

Hi,
is it possible to get the Honeycomb-Style (Theme, Icons) without root?
Or is it neccessary to root the phone and use CM?
EDIT:
I found the "Go Launcher EX" with "Honeycomb" but I don't like the other features like switching the homescreens.
Try honeybread for the cm7 theme chooser:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=943423
Ah okay.
So rooting my Nexus S is necessary.
There is also a honeycomb theme for launcher pro plus (don't need root for that)

To change the status bar, etc. you need root, you can either use a .zip and flash the theme, or use a ROM which supports the themechooser. This isn't required though as you can create your own theme easily via UOT Kitchen.
My suggestion is:
1. Root your phone.
2. Install either Oxygen or CM7, both includes the themechooser.
3. Download and apply Honeybread HDPI Theme.
4. Enjoy.
This way you won't have to mess with the kitchen or anything, and you'll have the Honeycomb style you're after.
Hope it helps
Thanks for the fast replies!
I think I will root my phone today
Great.
It works.
Thanks!
EDIT:
And this works, too.

Not sure what you are asking... you hold down on the home screen and select to choose a widget.
Well, that's the usual way to place a widget.
But my installed widgets aren't listed. There are always only the standard ones.

[Q] Cyanogenmod LG Widgets

Hi,
I'm trying to get some of my LG Widgets work under CM 7, but it doesn't work.
I placed them in /system/app/ but they aren't showing up in the Widget Picker and therefore I can't place them on my Homescreen.
Any idea what to do?

How did you do that if i may ask ?
I've been looking for the weather/clock home widgets in particular for CM9. I've placed the apk in system/app and set permissions, and they do show up in the widget picker. The problem I have is that only the 2x2 weather widget is working, I receive 'error loading widget' when i place either the 4x2 or 4x3 widgets on my homesreen.
If anyone's still interested with this, you might wanna try Go Weather. Works like a charm.

Tried Go weahter. Nice but not the same, LG UI" weather/clock looks much nicer
there is a go skin lg styla but widget of lg ui is better.

DashClock on the One?

Hey everyone, i was just wondering if there is something on the hardware side of the One that doesnt allow me to install DashClock. I tried downloading it from the Play Store but it says my device is incompatible? Is it hardware, or is it because i have an international version.

I'm running Android Revolution HD, which is basically HTC's stock 4.2.2, with Sense of course, and I'm having the same issue. I honestly think it's the Sense lockscreen that's the problem. In order to install Dashclock, you have to add it as a widget to one of your lockscreens. The problem is Sense only gives you the main lockscreen, no widgets, scrolling, etc.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm trying to get DashClock running on Sense roms now that we have 4.2.2 available on them. Tried it on an AOSP ROM (Slim Bean) and was very impressed.
Right now, TrickDroid 7.0.0 has android 4.2.2 and comes with an AOSP lockscreen option, but that lockscreen does not support widgets. While you cannot get DashClock from the Play Store, you can install Dashclock via APK and it works (in a reduced capacity) on the home screen.
As for getting DashClock on the lockscreen, right now I'm using WidgetLocker Lockscreen (paid app), but it's running in a reduced capacity there too. Looking into changing the lock screen to one that fully works, don't know how deep this rabbit hole goes, but I am a developer (not for Android, though .. yet) so I'll see what I can come up with.
If you want to play with it too, here is the APK.
I heard that if you rename htclockscreen.apk to something else, and you use apex or nova launcher, you will have stock android lockscreen, with all widgets you want

In TrickDroid 7.0.0 at least, you get the stock android lockscreen, but without any widget functionality. I'm thinking this could be related to settings in android.policy.jar

Yes i've installed the same Rom and have been trying to look for a solution to the problem :S
I'm on OrDroid 7.3.2 - 4.2.2 and I can use DashClock widget without problem with all extensions as you can see with this screenshot.

I don't use some other launcher, just stock launcher

I've been trying to get the DashClock to work on my phone, but I can't find the Widget in the lockscreen options. I am using SentinelROM and running 4.2.2
Got it working on the htc one ... but now have two clocks on the lockscreen .... any ideas on how to get rid of one ?
Same Issue
I'm running Android Revolution 12.2 on HTC One and I'm also getting the two clocks issue. I used Personalize->Lockscreen->Widgets->Dashclock to set it up, but cannot remove the original lock screen clock. I switched the dashclock time for a small analog clock and it looks better but that huge clock at the bottom takes up too much space. Any ideas?
I'll just leave this here.

[Q] lockscreen tweak

May I know if there are any lockscreen tweaks for kitkat? Like allowing custom apps to be widgets in the lockscreen. Btw, I can't drink the camera shortcut in the lockscreen anymore, is it supposed to be like that or is there a problem?

Thanks.
