[Q] use captive as an usb host?

Hi , Ive seen some videos of the nokia n8 . And the adapter they have for connecting an usb flash drive is incredible!! , I made some research and its kinda possible in the motorola droid . So Im asking if its possible to do it?
For example , nokia uses this cable: http://www.gadget.pdamu.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Nokia-N8-HDMI-USB-Cable-Data.jpg
Ive also seen that chinese tablets copys uses adapters for connecting usb flash drives.
So , just want to know if its possible!
thanks !! , btw sorry for my english!
The moto droid says that kernel drivers are needed - also as USB host the phone wants to supply 5v power on USB port.
it may be possible, but a lot of work. Even the Moto Droid is not fully functioning yet.

[Q] Usb storage not working

I have an samsung galaxy mini s5570 with cm7 .
This has started happening from yesterday . When I connect my phone to the computer , it charges but the usb mass storage doesn't comes up . Instead a message pops up on my pc saying that " Windows can't recognize the usb device " .
One more thing -
The coating of my usb wire has come out a bit in the middle and I can see the red and green wires in between . But as my phone is charging when connected to the pc I doubt that is going to be an problem , right ?
So what do you guys think is wrong with my cell or my pc ?
Perhaps it's the wire, being able to charge doesn't necessarily mean that u can transfer data. Try to use another wire, or another usb port. Also check that u have the Samsung usb driver installed in your computer. It should not be a problem with your phone.
Sent from my GT-S5570 using xda app-developers app
Download dual mount sd from market and use the widget if there isn't a hardware problem then it will work for sure.

Problem solved : I bought another usb cable and then it worked like a charm

USB OTG line

If you have USB OTG-line of the GALAXY Note , It still be use on the Note II I have tried it, It's ok
good idea
I second that!
