[Q] Hulu+ - Motorola Droid 4

Is anyone able to install Hulu+ from the Android market?
I've been emailing with their support staff. The Hulu+ description says the Droid 4 is supported, and their staff believes it should work. However the market shows Droid 4 is incompatible and doesn't give any options to install.
Just trying to get some additional info to help them track down the problem.

Shows up in the market now, seems they fixed it.

Looks like they updated Droid 4's version on June 23. It shows up in Google Play and works fine with my D4!

Netflix App

Just posted from a reliable source. I got it installed and it came up to the logon screen. Did not have a Netflix account to test further. Let me know how it works.
Update: It has been posted you can log in but can not stream live movies. Sorry folks
http://db.tt/XeibZ5U
interface works, i got an error when trying to play. "Sorry we could not reach the netflix service" It might be a bandwidth issue, I'm tethered to T-Mobile 3g.
I was on wifi, streams fine on ps3, same error for me.
Sent from my Typhoon Nandroid HD2 with the XDA premium app
Same error here.... its a leak that most can't get working for streaming.

stolen from a system dump? (if its even the same one)
PS quote from that page
"Brian 2 hours ago in reply to imperalix
You're missing the drm libraries. Maybe some smart dev can pull them from the system dump and get them working. Although thats exactly why netflix wont be out on the android market... hehe"
Got pretty excited earlier when I could sign in and see everything, then bummed when I couldn't watch anything. :-(
Damn drm.
So close. When trying to play a movie I get an error that Netflix service can't be reached.
I read that it was only unlocked for certain processors... I hope the Tegra will be on that list soon....
netflix is working with nvidia for tegra chips...but i am sure the devs can get this to work, i have tried it on my HTC incredible...same error!
snapdragon processors only rightnow i do believe
Is it possible that the app has a url or something that it's supposed to connect to for streaming, and since there are technically no android phones out that should actively be running this app, that maybe that url is not actively operating yet, and that after the LG becomes available, it may simply start working?
Just a thought...
MC
it's a DRM issue. Only certain chips have the appropriate DRM baked into them, which is why there are issues connecting to the streams. Unfortunately due to this limitation, I don't really see a decent workaround for getting streaming to work.
Hopefully someone on XDA can prove me wrong. I know both iOS and Microsoft have built themselves up around streamlining these DRM packages in with their software, but due to android's frequent updates and lack of included DRM integration with the OS at the 2.1/2.2 time, Netflix had to use alternate means of distributing to android. By the time Ice Cream Sandwich rolls around google should be on the ball with this stuff.
We'll see, though.

[Download]New Market!!! [3.0.26]

You Can download the apk here --http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15594566#post15594566
Recently, we’ve been hard at work improving Android Market to give you new ways to find great applications and games, purchase books, and rent movies. Today, we’re releasing a new version of Android Market which makes all of these available on phones (Android 2.2 and higher).
In the U.S., you’ll be able to rent thousands of movies, starting at $1.99, right from Android Market on your phone. With the Videos app, available in Android Market, there’s no more waiting for downloads, syncing, or worrying about storage space. Simply sign into Android Market with your Google account, and you can rent movies from anywhere – the web, or your Android phone or tablet – and start watching instantly. You can also download movies to your device so they’re available for viewing when you don’t have an internet connection.
Also in the U.S., you can now purchase books from Android Market on your phone. Like movie rentals, books are linked to your Google account, so they’re instantly available across all of your devices – computer, phone, or tablet – without the need for wires or downloads.
You’ll be delighted to find we’ve overhauled Android Market to make it faster, easier, and more fun to discover great apps, movies, and books. We’ve created more space to feature some of the most interesting content of the week on the home page. We’ve added more top charts, with newer, more relevant items, and we’ve made it easy to swipe through these charts as you browse the store. We’ve also introduced new collections of great content, like staff picks and Editors’ Choice apps.
The new Android Market will be rolling out in the coming weeks to Android 2.2 and higher phones around the world. You don’t need to do anything - the update is automatic on supported phones. If you’re in the U.S., you’ll also be able to download the Videos app, rent movies, and buy books once you receive the new Android Market.
Your phone is about to get a lot more interesting! Enjoy the new Android Market.

Anyone thinks that the interface is good, but it's lagging so much that makes you hard to download any applications / update your apps.
I mean I love the "Editor's choice" and "Staff's Choice" thingy, it makes it easier for me to download apps through their recommendation but it lags
Anyway here's the default android market.
flash it using ur EX4 or clockworkmod or whatever recovery you're using
Cheers !
thanks,downloaded and installed.

Google Play and my 8.9 Galaxy

Ever since I got my 8.9 Galaxy tab I've noticed issues with the Google Play store. Things like the HBO Go app not being available for it, but if you were to go behind the Google Play and manual install the Kindle fire's version it would work beautifully. I've ran into other apps that are not available for me, but are for similar devices. Now I'm noticing google is offering magazines, but they are only for 7 & 10 inch devices. Which makes no sense to me since you can buy a whole range of monitors for your computer and that doesn't seem to affect what your doing on it.
I guess I'm used to a world where to run an app you only need to have the correct OS and hardware to run it.
Why does android applications seem more concerned with brand name of your device and the screen size?
magazines
Looks like just after my post they updated my Google Play to allow for the purchases of magazines. It still seems that there are issues with the Android Market when it comes to compatibility that don't truly reflect if your device is compatible or not.

Google Play has been like this for a long time. Developers may wish on allow their app on confirmed working devices and will place restrictions on who can download it. While this helps keep their ratings higher from incompatible users hating their app. It leaves less popular devices out in the cold regardless of compatibility issues. But its why we have apk files and friendly xda members to get them for us
Hbo go updated their app it works now

Nexus 7 App Incompatibility List

Was searching the market for apps only to find out some apps are not available/compatible with our tablet, including some which I've previously paid for e.g FIFA 12. This thread is so we can establish which apps are confirmed to to be not available or working. Just reply with the name of the app and whether it is just unavailable on the Google Play Store, or the actual .apk did not work.
Tip: If an app is not compatible emailing the developer via the Play Store may help, as was the case with one app I encountered.

add all THD games obviously. Also, Amazing Alex HD works if you sideload it.
I had specifically wanted to get Dead Space and Mass Effect Infiltrator with my Google Play credit but to my dismay both came up as "Your device isn't compatible with this version". However, taking my old rooted Epic 4G, and modding my build.prop to allow me to purchase both and taking the APK files onto my stock Nexus 7, both install and play just fine. Annoyed that I had to go through such hoops to buy and install the games I wanted but worked out in the end.

Thank you guys, adding to the OP
Dead Trigger works fine if you do a clean install. If you update over 1.0.1 you will break it. Clearly if you have spent real money on IAPs, you don't want to do a clean install since that would wipe your data, presumably.
OP: Mega Jump. Can be sideloaded and works fine, but is listed as not compatible in Play Store.

All the publishers are doing a good job of updating their apps to work with JB/Nexus 7. I know of number of them were recently made compatible such as Amazing Alex, Dark Knight Rises, etc.

Navigon USA. Seriously, wth!
I can probably try side-loading, but Navigon consistently has issues like this due to some negligence. They obviously don't have anybody competent running the ship there anymore after the Garmin buyout.
History Erasers Do Not Clear Maps Search History
I've tried dozens of history clearing apps, and none of them clear the maps search history. I assume that the N7 version of Maps App stores the search history in a location that differs from older versions. Note that I have cleared my web history, and paused it.

SixGuns (Free) from gameloft?

I wonder if anybody has gotten Six Guns to work on kfhd. Market states the device is incompatible and I downloaded the game via google and the Gameloft launcher just says Not compatible with your device Please request a refund. I know compatibility checks can be removed. It's a sweet game and I have already have it on my evo 4g.
I know there's a device id hack that's floating around here somewheres. That should fix it, there's a whole thread on it I think
Well to add on to a previous thread I made in q&a called kindle device id boo boo I managed to get into a boot loop again buy purchasing device spoof by scheff and changing to nexus s which most app are highly compatible with. This will be the 5 loop from changing my id so there must be another way. There is a post about using apk tool and decompiling the apk and changing some text around so the apk doesn't check or something but that is a lot of work. I want something to work as a global work and not just for one apk
Sent from my Stock Htc evo 4g
Once I hit a loop a few minutes back I gave up on it for the night because I think I turned off adb, therefore I might have to fashion a factory cable. Radioshack here I come
