3. Download the MIDNOTE3.3 zip file WITH MD5 6e929c82208c0e810349ab246efaa2dd : MIDNOTE3.3_NEW.zip - 583.5 MB
4. Do a nandroid backup of your actual situation
5. Open mobile Odin and select "open file", then select "step 1" tar file. Now select "kernel", then select "step 2" file (this time is "zImage" without any extension), verify that ALL (enable everoot, inject superuser, inject mobile Odin) are checked, then check also "wipe data and cache". Now press "flash firmware" and answer "yes" on md5 verify.....
6. After the flash, you will be in CWM recovery, do a WIPE DATA / FACTORY RESET, DON'T EXIT FROM RECOVERY but select "step 3" zip file and flash it. Now reboot.
7. Wait for cache rebuild, then when prompted select "SETUPWIZARD" (the second choice), check time option to "auto", then CHECK BOTH GOOGLE LOCATIONS options (keep attention to this step), DON'T ENTER YOUR GOOGLE ACCOUNT name and password in this step, finish your setup. Now select the launcher.
8. If you like STOCK SAMSUNG THEME, download this zip and flash it with CWM recovery : MIDNOTE3.3_STOCK_THEME.zip - 22.2 MB
9. Some users reported me that new "SNote" doesn't works for them, if this happens to you, please flash this zip from CWM recovery (Back to "OLD SMemo") : MIDNOTE3.3_SMEMO_BACK.zip - 32.8 MB

8. VERY IMPORTANT STEP : VERIFY IF mobile Odin obtain correctly root permission, if all is OK, reboot in CWM recovery and flash "step 7" zip file, then reboot. DON'T DO ANY WIPE IN THIS STEP, SIMPLY REBOOT
9. Now you are in MIDNOTE3.0 WITH FULL GAPPS INCLUDED, please do nothing and reboot in CWM recovery (use CWM manager to do it, so you can check gains of root permissions)
10. Do a FULL WIPE DATA / FACTORY RESET, then wipe cache (NO Dalvik), then reboot
11. Wait for cache rebuild, then when prompted select "SETUPWIZARD" (the second choice)
12. Check time option to "auto", then FLAG BOTH GOOGLE LOCATIONS options (keep attention to this step), DON'T ENTER YOUR GOOGLE ACCOUNT name and password in this step, finish your setup. Now select the launcher. PLEASE, SELECT "APEX LAUNCHER", TW GIVES RANDOM FC, MAYBE A WIDGET MISSING. For the moment, DON'T CHECK TW AS DEFAULT LAUNCHER. After flashing the 3.1 update, you can also use TouchWiz.
13. Open Market and install "Maps", set GPS "off", open Maps, answer "ignore" if wants to check positions settings, then LOCATE YOUR POSITION (wifi or 3G data must be ON)

8. VERY IMPORTANT STEP : VERIFY IF mobile Odin obtain correctly root permission, if all is OK, reboot in CWM recovery and flash "step 7" zip file, then reboot. DON'T DO ANY WIPE IN THIS STEP, SIMPLY REBOOT
9. Now you are in MIDNOTE2.2 WITH FULL GAPPS INCLUDED, please do nothing and reboot in CWM recovery (use CWM manager to do it, so you can check gains of root permissions)
10. Do a FULL WIPE DATA / FACTORY RESET, then wipe cache (NO Dalvik), then reboot
11. Wait for cache rebuild, then when prompted select "SETUPWIZARD", the second choice
12. Check time option to "auto", then CHECK BOTH GOOGLE LOCATIONS option to "ON" (keep attention to this step), DON'T ENTER YOUR GOOGLE ACCOUNT name and password in this step, finish your setup. Now select your preferred launcher.
13. Go to settings/keyboard and set samsung keyboard language option to "English/UK", and uncheck T9 prediction
14. Fast fix to FLASH PLAYER..: Use root explorer or similar app, go to system/app, click on "Adobe flash player" and select install, wait to finish. Now delete Adobe Flask apk from system\app. Flash will works fine..
15. (The last ). Open Market and install "Maps", set GPS "off", open Maps, answer "ignore" if wants to check positions settings, then LOCATE YOUR POSITION (wifi or 3G data must be ON)

Ladies (uh, where?) and Gentlemen (uh, HOW many!!), please forget all the "2.0" rules of installation, this is a FULL WIPE version and starting base MUST BE GINGERBREAD WITH FULL ROOT.
LET'S START.....a little longer procedure than usual, but (IMHO) worth it--
1. Download and flash with cwm the modem : https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BzRB5vMumafCZTI5QXlUaUJTQXlOMHRDRktMWmU2dw (if you have already LB2 modem, go to step 2)

5. Download MULTI-CSC : LINK REMOVED - it causes the loss of root permissions (use only for samsung keyboard "null null" issue)
6. Do a nandroid backup of your actual situation (People actually on ICS rom, MIDNOTE2.0 included, must flash abyss3.9 kernel (https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BzRB5vMumafCY2EyNGRhMTctODE2MC00MDU4LWE2MjgtYjRmM2RmMmEwM2Zh), reboot kernel and go back to Gingerbread, like said before, because (I repeat) STARTING BASE MUST BE GINGERBREAD WITH FULL ROOT
7. Open mobile Odin and select "open file", then select "step 2" tar file. Now select "kernel", then select "step 3" tar file, verify that ALL (enable everoot, inject superuser, inject mobile Odin) are checked, then check also "wipe data and cache". Now press "flash firmware" and answer "yes" on md5 verify.....(Odin PC causes increase of the counter, and I'm not directly experienced a flash with it, so please, don't complain on the forum if you don't want to use mobile Odin)
8. After the flash, you will be in CWM recovery, do a reboot, then wait some minutes to build the caches, ONLY FIRST TIME you will see statusbar only. Now long press power button, then select "reboot" and WAIT TILL YOU WILL BE AGAIN IN FULL WORKING SYSTEM
9. You're not yet on MIDNOTE2.1, now you have to download the real customization zip from here : https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BzRB5vMumafCTl9SUVBxQTFTaUtyUU8zQUZ4dmZFUQ VERY IMPORTANT STEP : VERIFY IF mobile Odin obtain correctly root permission
10. Reboot in CWM recovery, then flash gapps7.1 (step 4 zip file), reboot and configure your google account using chinese keyboard
11. Now verify MD5 of "step 9" zip file : b442d6e1f809ffad9ebf0475e2a93ed1. Only if correct, reboot again in CWM recovery and flash it
12. Now you are in MIDNOTE2.1 read below my recommendations :
- Use apex launcher (embedded in 2.1 rom), best ICS experience
- Use App Quarantine (in the app drawer), to easily freeze all the apps that you don't need (chinese or samsung), I preferred to leave the complete rom because there are many Chinese users that use MIDNOTE..
- Make a home shortcut to "quick settings", and use it to set "sound + vibrate", verify if it works correctly, then from now on you will not miss notifications..
- You will find "note everything", very nice app to makes all kind of notes
- Use "not call log" (in the app drawer) to fast switch to home after a call
- Use N7player for music (in the app drawer), best app and related widget (for my opinion)
- Use Sygic (free version in app drawer), best ICS compatible navigation program
- You can find also ICS Keyboard, try it, it's a very nice keyboard
- Freeze S-planner if you don't want to see doubled calendar events notifications
- You can use CWM recovery to flash zip files and do nandroid backups, BUT DON'T USE IT TO RESTORE ANY KIND OF BACKUPS (GB OR ICS), OR TO WIPE DATA, IT DOESN'T WORK and causes bootloop and lost of root permissions, so if you need to go back to GB, use redpill recovery from abyss3.9 kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22758543&postcount=6). If you need, you CAN restore (from redpill recovery of course) also ICS nandroid backup, but remember, after that, you will not be able to delete files from system directory
- and now.......THE CHANGELOG :
A. fixed random SOD of 2.0 (thanks to LB2 modem)
B. fixed random reboot, but the "tradeoff" is the return of "android apps optimization" every reboot
C. fixed all contacts app various problems
D. fixed lots of full root related problems, now you HAVE full full full root..
E. fixed Samsung keyboard, now it's fully working like GB one (only english language)
F. fixed stock video player with all kind of video formats
G. nice "Armani" fonts
H. fixed stock internet browser, no more "black on black" address bar (but you can find also ICSbrowser+ in app drawer)
I. native call recording using stock dialer
L. real ICS themed, with more readable icons and no "double arrows"
M. torch widget works fine with three steps

Only the theme is a bit low contrast, many of input boxes are barelly visible.
Please, disable WiFi if want to use GPS.
CoPilot crashes if WiFi is enabled.
For me the fastest ROM for now, only light bugs and i hope our great dev will eliminate it soon.
Contacts need a bit more work, the displayed name is wrong on call, thats only bug.

Theme looks great. Hope you are finding the ICS leak more useful than I am. I got your PM, but I'm really still just using GB and waiting for a new CM9 build.
Regarding your PNG issues, I would inspect the original apk and make sure the image pixel sizes of the themed replacement matches.

managed to figure out whats wrong with dialer and contacts.
If the phonenumber of person calling you, is saved with international prefix, e.g. 0041xxx or +41xxx, in your contacts, than you see only the phonenumber from the caller but there is NO ASSOCIATION with your contacts. And on display you should see "HunagdeHuongGong" as caller name and his phonenumber, WITHOUT international prefix.
For Switzerland is international prefix 0041xxx or +41xxx.
For inlandcalls i use the 044xxx for Zürich region.
So i have a phonenumber like this 00 41 44 xxx saved in my contacts, the callerID displayed is only 044xxx and the phone dont find any contact with matching number to display the name.
Dont know how its for another country, but this causes the crash from dialer and contacts in Switzerland and Europe, with prefix 00xxx or + als leader.
I changed the phonenumbers of my contacts to only reginal prefix and the callerID works flawless, the callername is proper displayed on screen.
Hope any dev can fix this issue.
I think thats wrong because the leak is from China and there are different callerID and prefix managments.

After a new wipe and installation there is no correction. Also with USB connection my phone wasnt found by windows.

Did you try the other ICS leak for Europe market? Was there no problem with contacts? Could you try if the problem exists with the contacts apk from european release? If you don't have it I can upload it.

I have flashed all ICS ROMs available on XDA.
The first chinese leak too.
There is no problem, i will try your contacts apk
GO Dialer EX and GO Contacts EX works, only the stock ones are faulty...

[Q] [4.0.4] Dark Knight 3 issues

Hi,
Complete xda n00b here. Sorry if I am posting this to the wrong place, but I couldn't post in the Dev forum for obvious n00bishness.
I've searched all the other threads but have come up with no answers
I'm running Dark Knight 3 with the Devil kernel. It's a fantastic rom, so fast and smooth. I love it. But the TV-Out does not work. I tick the necessary boxes, and run it on PAL (I'm UK) but there is no picture on the TV screen. I have sound, and can play audio files, but no visual
Any help that can be offered to fix the problem would be massively appreciated!

I cannot speak directly for Dark Knight, but a lot of these ICS roms are not fully complete... so the TV out just might not be working..

I thought that might be the case. But wasn't sure if it was an issue that would be relatively easy to fix.

No space left on device
Hi!
I really want to have this rom on my rooted GT-I9000 (with brand 2.3.5 from Orange (Poland)), so:
1) download and copy DK 4.0.4 to sd card
2) download and install clockwork rom manager
3) flash CWMR
4) reset smartphone in recovery mode (from CWRM)
5) wipe to factory data
6) clear cache
7) select rom (zip) to update
After a few second get: short write of /temp/slideload/package.zip ( no space left on device )
So, I:
8) download and install titanium backup
9) delete almost all non-core applications -> now I have 80-70 MB free space on phone memory
10) back to point 4 and get the same error :/
so, I:
11) try to flash rom directly from CWRM -> clear cache, wipe data, clear dalvik and select rom and... get the same error
What to do? (my sd card is almost empty)

Do a search because I remember reading a fix for that. Something about clearing a specific folder.

This ROM is discontinued.
If you're looking for a stable ROM I recommend this ROM as an alternative: ParanoidAndroid CM10
It's more up-to-date and smoother than Stock ROMs - but at the same time still rock stable and qualifies as a daily driver.
If you want to continue using a Stock ROM on the GB bootloader I'd recommend to use the updated and actively maintained v30a/b Stock ROM by rugglez.
Some of the work of this ROM went into it - especially the heavily reworked ramdisk.
Using this ROM with the kowalski oldbl kernel does work as well (and fixes the callbug).
I've never intended to support a Stock ROM in the long term - I prefer CM based ROMs by far.
The initial intention of the first version of this ROM was to provide an easy way for people to test the SU660 leaks - back when we didn't even have P990 ICS leaks.
Nowadays that's easy, thanks to tools like the AIO toolbox by spyrosk, but back then it was more complicated for the users - especially with a SU660 ROM as base.
Then harsh & I decided to work on it together and update the initial SU660 base to a P990 v28 one.

What is this?
This is a flashable zip version of the official LG v28g ROM by LG.
It's a Stock LG Android 4.0.4 ROM which uses the default ("old") bootloader and stock ("old") partition layout.
I prefer to stick with the GB layout and old bootloader as pretty much all ROMs, including CM10, are build for that.
If you have used the NVFlash ICS ROM you need to go back to the GB partition layout.
There are two versions. The standard version will fit into the stock GB partition layout.
To make it fit in there we had to remove some apps, including LGEmail, LG Calendar, LGMemo (QuickMemo is still there, don't worry) etc.
If you want to have the full ROM you can use the extended version, but need to increase the /system partition size to 512mb+ beforehand (see here for instructions).
Note that by only changing the partition size the partition layout won't change - so you still can flash other ROMs like CM10.​
What's working?
This ROM is considered stable. harsh and I are using it as a daily driver currently!

Due to the continuous misunderstanding: This ROM requires you to run the GB (aka the "old") bootloader and partition layout.
If you flashed a ICS ROM (kdz etc.) with NVFlash you need to go back to the old layout and bootloader, for example with this tool:

If you're coming from CM7, CM10, PA, GB (Android 2.3) Stock ROMs etc. this warning does not affect you.​
Note:
I fixed the error which required you to use CWM 5.0.2.x for this ROM so you can now use any recovery you want now.
I'd recommend the official CWM 6.0.1.5 Touch or the newest TWRP.
How to install the new CWM:
You can use the ROM Manager to install CWM. But you need ROM Manager premium (or an in-app purchase for ~2$) to be able to flash CWM Touch with it.

Remove battery, hold both Vol - & Vol +, connect the phone to your notebook and use the "install_cwm6.bat" file (or the matching linux sh install script). APX driver is included.
This will flash CWM without touching any other partition.

Installation (follow carefully!):
Read post 1 and post 2 completely before you're doing anything with your phone!
If it doesn't exist, yet: Create the folder "external_sd" on your internal sdcard.
Reboot once.
Reboot into your recovery.
If you are coming from another ROM than my Stock ICS:
wipe data/factory reset(!)
Install zip from sdcard (flash the ROM)
Reboot (can take a couple minutes)
After fully booting up and going through the setup wizard: Restart your phone once again
Don't touch the RIL! And don't mind the "Unknown baseband" if everything works. This just means you got one of the older basebands which aren't displayed properly anymore. Nothing to worry about.
If automatic time if off you can either flash the v28g baseband (see my stickyied thread) or disable automatic time and use ClockSync.

Installation (follow carefully!):

Restart your phone

Damnit, I had it at the USB cable the whole time. I just realized the ROM will bsod when going into deep sleep.
This is a kernel issue due to the GB bootloader.
So this is mainly a "let's check out how ICS works" ROM at the moment
Doesn't deserve an own thread. I can't yet close my own thread, will have to ask a mod about it.

Edit: Maybe this is a recovery issue, I am on 5.0.2.7, but never had this issue before with any other roms.
Fix: Just use the 0.81 build or modify the update-script as described in the post below.

This is a simple mistake I made resulting of me being tired.
I did some last minute modifications of the update-script file (to ensure no P999 or SU660 users try and install it) and unfortunately wrote uassert instead of assert.
You can either fix it yourself: Goto META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script and remove the first character (the "u").
Or download v0.81.
goo.im is a great hosting service and offers me remote ssh access via a linux terminal - so I just unzipped the ROM, fixed the line and rezipped it as v0.81. No need to re-upload

Oh, goo.im slow again. A couple hours ago I had full speed.
If someone wants to provide a mirror feel free to do so, I'm out now really.
The v0.81 zip is untested, I hope it works the way I did the change remotely. If it doesn't use 0.80 and apply the manual fix I posted in my last post.
Open the updater-script with a texteditor like Notepad++.

Somebody who has installed it, could try running playing song through music player before screen lock?
Does music/song keep playing continuesly after screen locks and after 2-3 mins does the phone wakeup by pressing unlock key or still BSOD?

Does anyone have audio issues?
Seems like voice calls doesn't work for me. Reverted back to CM10 for now...(need to use the phone for calls today)

Thank you for the rom. it seems mobile data and wifi work. no problem with voice call. no problem with the sound with skype. i must do more tests
same mic problem with 3.1 kernel exists here too. if we have hdmi mirroring, it will be perfect. Bluetooth headset is not working like cm 10.1

I've fixed the issue by flashing a different radio (baseband-N_01.100.00R)
What I've noticed that the Battery Status shows 50% and would not pass that. Will continue to monitor it.

ATT version atrix 4g on tmobile, baseband version N_01.100.00R.
On first boot: The mobile network icon is unknown, quick settings drawer also indicates no mobile service. Despite the erroneous info display, voice works. No mobile data.
On reboot: Stuck in a boot loop. Reflashing everything would let me boot again, but problem repeats itself on and after 2nd boot.
Battery percentage stuck at 100%

There SHOULD NOT be any problem with battery... (of course the indicator is only with 10% increment)
You know, when you boot into recovery, and do all sort of formatting and flashing, it will deplete the battery but does not update the battery status in /data, so there will be error on battery level
The way to reset it is to CHARGE YOUR ATRIX for at least 2 hours, UNPLUG IT, IMMEDIATELY delete /DATA/BATTD/* (just all the files, not the directory), REBOOT.

Installation Procedure :
1. Go to recovery

BETA 1 Notes :
For you who gettings bootloop at last time, try this :
1. Download these two bootloop patch
2. Rewipe your phone (data,cache,system)
3. Flash the rom, then flash gapps, after that reboot to recovery mode

5. Reboot. Wait till its booting to homescreen (approx 6-10mins)
6. After finishing the setupwizard, go back to recovery

After booting and finishing the setup wizard (and done flashing the bootloop patch if u got bootloop), set selinux to permissive, set using kernel adiutor (go to plugins, download selinux plugin, set to permissive), enable apply on boot
After booting to homescreen u can reput your 2nd card now. but remember its will still didnt detect your 2nd card

I dont mind using the Single SIM as I use it for single sim most of the time. Thank you for sharing it here. I'm downloading it now.

an awesome rom
This is the best rom I have ever used on my Sparkle V. Very smooth ,
but I found a bug - while backing up data on local storage the phone hangs and reboots itself in a minute, but that's not a major issue.:good:

guys, I tried flashing, but failed. ,
- first I tried wipe everything, and then flash. But flash or rom failed, giving sole softlink issue. I tried multiple times, but failed. Finally, fixed issue by having another 4.4.4 rom installed first and then flashing this rom without wiping system
- once flash was successful, I rebooted device, but it keeps looping wihout booting up. OP suggested multiple iterations of (battery remove, goto recovery, wipe dalvik, boot) , but I am in my 7th attempt and device not booting still.
How many times you guys had to wipe dalvik? Very much anxious to test this MIUI rom !

thanks @yadavdharmendar, I am installing from philz, and I avoided installing gaps as well. Still not luck. I get Simlink error.
I am coming from FIUI rom. Not sure if that matters (as anyway I am wiping everything before starting rom flashing).

thanks! But why you installed CM11 first before installing Miui. OP didn't asked for it. Just curious to know!
And where you got CM11 from? From Cyanogenmod download page for "sprout"?

Its not davlick issue it's just meta inf folder bug
Just open ROM zip and delete meta inf folder and replace it from any downloaded sprout ROM zip just copy meta inf folder frm there and paste it in miui ROM n u r done just do a clean install n w8 for 5 mins

Installation Procedure :
1. Remove your 2nd sim card, then go to philz recovery or LATEST (2.8.7.x) TWRP recovery (darkplay)
2. Wipe data, cache, system (or just use the 'clean to install rom' function)
3. Flash the rom
4. Flash miui gapps
5. Flash patch
6. Reboot, wait till 6 mins, pull your phone battery, then goto recovery and wipe dalvik cache, then reboot*
7. After booting and finishing the setup wizard, set selinux to permissive, set using kernel adiutor, enable apply on boot
*do it again until the progress bar bottom of the screen showing
Troubleshoot :
1. How to enable root access?
- Open security app, choose permissions, root access .. there u go (make sure ur root apps already asked for root first to show it on there)
2. How to disable warn when want to install app?
- Open Privacy, choose device administration, change in unknown sources from ask to allow
3. How to make my phone mtp detected?
- Unplug ur usb, open miui default file explorer, select phone, wait till its complete loading, then connect ur usb
4. Google apps or keyboard is force closing how to fix?
- Change your gapps, use pico/nano gapps for now
5. Titaniumbackup is restarting after grant root access, how to fix?
- Update your current tb to version 7.2.1.2 or latest
6. Cant install apps from PS, says no free storage, how to fix?
- Flash the download provider fix
7. Cant install apps from my sdcard, says no free storage
- Wipe data your phone, reflash again, after boot set selinux to permissive

Thanks all. Installed cm11, then installed ROM with the patch, and avoided flashing any gapps. It worked! Just one bootloop, which went away after wiping dalvik.

no FCs seen so far!! Looks perfectly usable as daily rom.
Just one problem seen :
Can not install Google maps. Says insufficient space, which is strange. Also failed to install Link2SD. Tried even installing from ADB, gave error INSTALL_FAILED_UID_CHANGED. Hope Miui is not blocking it.

Every thing is fine bro its super rom but I can't move apps to SD card

B'coz this ROM is based on CM11, it's impossible to get multi sim working
