oh my god yes. flashing now

Flashed and playing with it. After 15 mins, so far so good. Thanks for the up. Like most others here, I've been anxiously waiting for Cm9 on the Inc.

Wouldn't happen to have a link to the github device tree, would you? I've been meaning to work on CM9 for the inc, but haven't had much time (or a spare inc, really; I kind of need the one I got for work and can't take it out of commission).

Thank you so much. I'm suddenly hopeful again, and I'm not overstating it, that we will see CM9 on the Incredible. I was giving up on it, and bummed as hell.

The tree I'm using is from Evervolv, here. Specifically this, with a few changes. I'll have my changes up on Github hopefully later today.

Please forgive my ignorance as I've only recently started researching ICS ROMs for my Incredible, but the other ICS ROMs - abduction, kang, etc. - don't have true HWA, correct? What HWA they have is the result of creative work-arounds by resourceful devs, right? Does this ROM have true HWA? And although they were only recently released, has anyone had any success with the official Qualcomm drivers for the Adreno 200?
Thanks.

My understanding is that these ROMs do have "true HWA" but it's still being improved upon.

A slight correction: the AOKP rom does not have HWA; Abduction 2.0 rom does have HWA, as does the Evervolv rom; Abduction also has a 1.81 version that is non-HWA.

I am running Evervolv and this AM, kushdeck released an Evo 4G rom with working camera preview. I pulled the libs from his ROM and got the camera preview working on the inc! FYI.

so does the video camera not work at all ?

For those that have tried this ROM so far, how is the battery life? In earlier versions of Abduction with HWA the battery life was really bad, is it the same in this ROM? Also, does this have trackpad unlock? I had to revert to CM7 for this because my power button on my inc is starting to act up.

Battery life doesn't seem bad. I'd say around average. I've been playing with it non stop since I flashed it last night, so I haven't given it the full day test. But it seems really solid for a pre-alpha. Can't wait to see what the Inc devs can do with this bad boy.

[Kang] *Unofficial* CM9 and CM7 Kangs/ROMs

Hello:
This thread is being started to post *unofficial* kangs (roms) based on Atrix-dev-team's work with CM9 and CM7. ghost_og, crnkoj and I decided to collaborate and have one thread where we post our kangs. What's a Kang? The unofficial definition follows
KANG: unofficial build: as in - you are (mostly) on your own. Please do not contact the CM9 or CM7 teams, or the atrix dev team with issues found in these ROMs. Instead, post questions/issues in this thread.
I will be posting CM9 builds regularly [meaning weekly or a little more frequently]. I will usually test builds for 1-2 hrs before posting. crnkoj will be posting CM7 builds.
If you want to build your own kangs, instructions can be found here:
CM9 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1450054
CM7 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1442842
Thanks to the Atrix-Dev team and Turl1 for all their hard work porting CM7/9 to the Atrix.
The next post will contain CM9 specific information.
CM7 can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21834066&postcount=23
CM7 Kang 2 reserved: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21834090&postcount=24
CM9: Why does 2D/camera not work - now that NVidia released the ventana reference libs? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21835368&postcount=27
CM9 ROM and build note:
Hello:
This post will contain location to the latest unofficial CM9 kang built from the atrix-dev-team repositories. As you may know, CM9 is based on Android 4 better known as ICS or ice cream sandwich.
*** I have tested this build for ~10 hrs before posting. For regular use, I switched to CM9 from CM7 and find CM9 pretty stable for everyday use, with some exceptions:
*** Update 02/02/2012 [one date that reads the same all over the world ] I built an OC/UV enabled kernel for CM9. If interested, get it from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22121125&postcount=152
Known issues:
=========
- Camera doesnt work (yet): WHY not? Nvidia released the tegra libs for ICS - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21835368&postcount=27 [patience, work in progress ]
- 2D acceleration doesnt work (meaning, occasional glitches in angry bird, and jerky scrolling sometimes)
- Adobe flash - **** If you use dolphin, you might see sites like youtube/vimeo work. That does *not* mean Flash is working: dolphin uses HTML5 versions of those sites. A good test to see if flash works is to use Kongregate and try to play a Flash game.
- Video playback
*** Update: Posted a new Kang today: 02/02/2012 - version 020212. This contains the latest CM9 code from the repo, working FP and screen unlock bug fixes. Release notes here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22101540&postcount=146
You can find the Kang here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/hlvw6g
user yann_h has set up a mirror here - it will take a while for the build to be updated, please check version # before downloading: http://yann.huruguen.fr/atrix_kang_cm9.php (Thanks!)

WARNING: If this is your first time flashing CM9 - *remember to wipe/format system, data, and cache* before flashing
WARNING: This is a KANG - while there is no official support available, if you post questions on this thread, I'll try to help as much as possible.

That thread is maintained by the photon-dev team: they develop primarily for the Motorola Photon, and have been kind enough to post a build for Atrix as well. This thread is for unofficial builds from the Atrix-dev team repositories: the folks who are porting ICS for Atrix.
Also - if its by the devs, it cant be a kang
Good, I was also thinking about asking a dedicated thread for Atrix Dev Team's CM9.
Currently using the 24-1-2012 CM9 rom and one thing bugging me here, FP navigation!!!. how can i turn it off???

Right now, the setting app havent been enhanced with FP nav code. FP Nav doesnt bother me much: but will try porting the settings app shortly. If I cant get that to work, will make a build w/o FP.
Haven't used ATRIX cm9 since XMAS (on photon cm9 port right now), can anyone compare the 2? If not, I will spend sometime 2morrow after work and test it out and give out a compairson

AFAIK, only 2 main difference. Photon team's CM9 has FP navigation already disabled (which would reduce battery consumption to certain level), and Atrix Team's CM9 has got some of the CM settings already working (U need to flash a CMSetting pack). Now we can adjust screen rotation settings and custom backlight levels (which also helps you to reduce battery consumption a lot). Moreover, I like the black People theme on Atrix team's CM9 compared to white theme of Photon Team's CM9.
USB Tethering is not working yet on this rom but Wifi tethering is already working. (I haven't had a chance to try it on Photon Team's rom)
Where would one obtain the CMSetting pack?
Lol black people theme?

3D is good. I've tried many 3D games including the latest "Real Racing 2" from EA Games and it work flawlessly. UI is also smooth but full hardware acceleration is not working yet. (I think it will only work after we get the ICS resources for Tegra2 device from Nvidia)

[UNOFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 9 for Incredible S

Saw a lot of people posting about CM9 the past month, some were hoping it is official released or supported. It won't happen until awhile more for an official update. here's an unofficial build:
I just sync and built with the vivo device tree, only changes from stock CM9:
- kernel (kaijura) - without it: no panorama, updated kernel drivers, etc
- added usb
What may be fixed later or can be done:
- merge twistedumbrella's camera code to enable camera
- add rotating keys (st.matt)

Following CyanogenMod 9 Blog from Cyanogen himself, he said a few words on the directions of the project:

So it seems like from what I understand what he says, we might not get official support for camera and video until the IncS HTC ICS release, which is supposed to be wayy later this year.

Yeah its definitely not a daily but it is pretty cool to check out. Once our phone has an official ICS ROM from htc you can bet cm9 will be official for vivo. It's more of a peek at what's to come. I swear by cm so if we don't get official support I would be amazed and disappointed.

People believe the target may be Qualcomm instead of HTC. There has been a long discussion on this at the DesireZ forums and lots of people emailed, you can read its progress here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20970354
I updated the CM9 KANG build to Feb'18 2012. Lots of commits and fixes, too much to list. Some minor changes but getting more and more stable now.
In other works, I have also ported a very popular DHD ICS ROM Ice Cold Sandwich from the Desire HD section with permission from LorD ClockaN and some help from vampire36 who ported it to the Desire S.
So far, it works fine on release 2.0, it uses some sources from CM9 and community fixes.
But I need to tweak it a little to get it working smoothly, there are some minor things wrong with it and camera is not working right at the moment. If people are crazy about it I'll try to get a fully functional rom up sometime.

4.1 JB for Captivate?

Hey guys, just out of curiosity, will we ever get Jellybean ported to the Captivate? If so how long does this process normally take?
Sorry I have no idea how these things work, not being impatient, just wondering.
Thanks
If you want it that bad, the TAJB port for I9000 works fine on our phone with the latest Devil Kernel
It's a slightly long process to get everything(SMS+phone) to work
1: clear dalvik, normal cache, and wipe data
2: flash TAJB .45
3: flash devil Kernel
4: search through thread and flash test modem for phone calls and SMS
5: place the audio_policy.conf from the nexus s port into the system/etc/ folder

There's another thread discussing Jelly Bean for Captivate. You might want to check that one. It doesn't have any firm timeframes for any of the ROMs to release a 4.1 version, but it does confirm that they're working on it.
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1775373, it works fine for me. Only things that do not work - Camera and Sound notifications. Otherwise, it is pretty awesome.

Can't seem to get my Data to connect. Won't save any apn's I add to it to connect. The phone can locate the appropriate Network Operator (CAN Rogers Wireless Inc.), but data will not connect. Also, when I go to the Data Usage tab, it doesn't show a tab that lets you see Data na dWireless usage like it did in ICS.
Any ideas on how to fix?? JellyBean is wicked smooth for such an ealy release and I'd hate to revert back to CM9 (it was not cooperating with my cappy!)

Funny thing guys, Project butter hasn't been incorporated into the kernels yet. The v-sync and timings have to be messed with. So if you think it's smooth now, wait until project butter is actually running

That's ridiculous. I noticed an amazing jump in smoothness from the latest CM9 nightly to the V2 of the Jelly Bean ROM and if it's only gonna get better, I can't wait to see how fast it gets. Still very, very minor bugs that barely affect functionality at all, but man is it fast!
ya i noticed it was crazy smooth as well. but couldn't live w/o camera. so i went back to remics-ux. which is almost identically smooth imo. cant wait util we actually get project butter and a fully functional jb rom

cbalt and dave have stripped down versions of DerTeufel's port, and by all reports, they're worth of being your daily driver, too.

[FIX][CWM ZIP] Youtube/Video hot reboot fix for qsd8k devices [4.1.1][EV based JB]

Hi there,
I've created a (temporarily) fix for the Evervolv based Jellybean hot reboot problem we have when playing video/youtube for the HD2.
Since we use and share a lot of stuff from the great work of texasice and the rest of the evervolv team this will probably work on other qsd8k devices who suffer from the same issue as well (no guarantees)
I thought it would be nice to give something back to the community untill this is fixed by the dev team..
Download evjb_qsd8k_mediafix.zip - mirror (flash via recovery)
Try it and see if it works and Remember that all the flashing is at your own risk ! Always make a nand backup in recovery
Source: I am not a dev and I just like to experiment with libs from different devices so have not compiled this fix from source.
Instead I've taken these libs from the jellybean msm7x30 platform (Desire HD) and replaced them with ours. (dirty hack so to speak)
The good news is that they have sources so you will have to look there since they seem to be a bit ahead with development compared to our qsd8k platform...
I hope this information will help the real devs making a 'proper' fix.
I can confirm that this works on Albinoman Jellybean Beta 1.5. I was able to watch a few YouTube videos without a hot reboot. There seemed to be a slight lag in audio, but it may have been the videos.
Thanks for posting this!

How did you fix it?!
EDIT: Never mind I figured it out. Do you mind if I include the libs in my next build?

[ROM] [Nightlies] CM9/ICS UNOFFICIAL Kexec builds

FLASHING ROMS WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY AND COULD POTENTIALLY DAMAGE YOUR PHONE -- WHILE I MAKE EVERY ATTEMPT NOT TO LET THIS HAPPEN, IT'S STILL A RISK THAT YOU'RE TAKING. IF SOMETHING BAD SHOULD HAPPEN TO YOUR PHONE, PLEASE DON'T BLAME ME -- HENCE THIS WARNING.
-Hashcode {06-21-12}
This isn't so much a ROM announcement as it is a direction to find the unofficial nightly builds of CM9 Kexec for the Droid 4.
Prerequisites:
- Rooted
- Running ICS OTA or .217 leak (they are the same)
- SafeStrap 2.11 Here's how to use Safestrap
Download SafeStrap here
SafeStrap Mirror 1 (v2.11)
Download ROM here
ROM Mirror 1 (8/20 build)
Download ICS GApps Here (04/29 build)
ICS GApps Mirror 1 (04/29 build)
FLASH THE GAPPS.ZIP FILE AFTER YOU FLASH THE ROM .ZIP
Directions:
1. Root your stock system
2. Install SafeStrap 2.10+ (for Kexec support)
3. Backup stock system
4. Toggle to SAFE system (safe to screw things up!)
5. Flash the ROM .zip like any other ROM
6. Flash the GApps .zip
7. Reboot and enjoy!
What works?
4G data and calls
Flash (HW Codecs?)
Wifi
SMS and MMS
Whats broken?
Audio while bluetooth is left on and disconnected.
Built-in wifi tether.
Camera (front and back)
USB Audio (Car Dock audio connection)
Touchscreen is finnicky.
Specs:
Kernel 3.0.31
Latest Gfx drivers from TI
CM9
Android 4.0.4 ICS
Screenshots:
Surely you have seen CM9 before?
Thread on ROMBOT.ORG (hashcode's forum)
I don't have any problems with the touchscreen, but the clock is sometimes right and sometimes wrong. On Twitter Hash says he is already working on a fix for the clock.
Very promising. Seems a bit odd to me that anyone is spending time using 3.0.x for a custom kernel; we already have 3.4 on XDAndroid and those are *winmo6* phones originally...

any way to get a list of changes with the builds/nightlies as they change since the forum is down?

the forum and files are on the same host, thats where the changes and nightlies come from.
unless the host gets fixed, we have no more nightlies and no changelogs.
that is, unless there was another nightly and someone has it, then they can post it here and I'll modify OP,
or they can send me a link:
cron410 at google mail
The maserati builds are not up there yet but, rombitch.com appears to be the successor to rombot
EDIT: First cm9 kexec build is up there now!

I think that website just became my new favorite site.
In all seriousness, for how locked down the Droid 4 is, I'm very impressed how far development has come along for it. I'm very excited to see what comes down the pipe as far as CM9 and CM10 are concerned.

Actually, Hashcode just released a new kexec build this morning, although it does not boot, it is CM10! It looks like he will be using his blog site to host future downloads. Here's a link:

Boots fine for me. Menu, Home, Back, and Search buttons don't work though. It is a kexec build so make sure you are on the latest safestrap recovery version 2.11. Also, you'll need to flash the CM10 gapps: http://goo.im/gapps. Looks like hashcode is making some progress!

Awesome, I honestly did not even try it, I was just reiterating what Hashcode said on twitter. Flashing now!!!
The best thing in our current cm10 - the backlight of hardware keyboard doesn't stay turned on when you don't use it!

NO laugh It's truth (for me)
Hoping on keep once cm10 on my droid 4 as main rom
In the op it says flash doesn't work. I thought flash wasn't intended to work in jb, that adobe said no more after ics?
Personally I think flash runs great on my d4 but adobe says it doesn't so we have to listen to them since they know what we want.

Button savior works to make this (kind) useful. Once the soft-buttons and camera are working, will there by anything that DOESN'T work?
This is really, really awesome

Just an FYI on the latest release:
Capacitive buttons are working in Hashcode's latest alpha for JB. However, data is pretty iffy. I do not get any type of data connection, so there is not much I can test at this point. Wifi does not work at all as far as I can tell.
I also assume the camera is not working, based on the fact there is no camera app.
As far as the UI is concerned, it seems pretty smooth.
Looks promising!
