How did you flash baseband ?
I assume you used Flash tool ? If yes, then you can use same Flash tool to flash kernel and then you can go into recovery.

[Q] GingerDX

Hey Guys
Am kind of lost At the Gdx instruction thingies
Okay i know how 2 install it
..
So
i have the 2.1 ..
With all the required Stuff
the baseband number...etc
So is it now like always?
P.S: My bootloader is unlocked ..
So again is it like always
install ZIP From either Xrec.. Or CWM??
And about the recommendation 2 install The Linux
is it Safe???????
Completely Safe i mean???
And what are the benefits of Linux + GDX ?
..
your answers are gonna be the reason 2 either install the Rom Or not :/
So please HELP?
I did like this :
1.FULL wipe
2.flash gingerdx v017
3.flash linuxdx
And everything is good Is it safe? If you did everything all right its safe now with latest gdx with latest linuxdx i have=NO LAG AT ALL, EVEN WITH MANY APPS INSTALLED AND LOW RAM! ! i really easily recommend it to you
Sent from my X8 using XDA Premium App
If you read carefully GingerDX v014+ requires CWM for install it, for v013- versions you can install with xRecovery.
And GingerDX is safe, little bugs in some versions but with solution in almost all.
In my opinion the battery drain is the most important issue, with the Governor in ONDEMAND my battery drains just in the night 20%, that's a lot. Now, with Smartass, the battery drains just 3% over night.
I don't know about the performance with LinuxDX Kernel. I can't help you with that.
I'm sure that in the respective post you can get more information.

3. install rom from X8 recovery

Guys for the love of God don't Get me confused ..
Just flash the kernel, ater that do afull wipe, and then flash the ROM in CWM-Recovery.
And if it´s not stable, flash stock ROm with stock kernel again and flash ONLY GingerDX without the Kernel.
Dude
while flashing the Linux
it stopped ..
And told me 2 tick the God damn USB debugging !!
DAMN I FORGOT 2 TICK IT BEFORE !!
And the phone now won't Go ON..
At ALL !!
it just shakes ..
Then nothin
Am trying 2 Fix it with Sony ericsson update service
But the installation is STUCK!
completely it won't Work..
..
Damn????
you should flash by flashtools .
Or the battery is low.. it happened to me once when flashing my gf's x8. It took a while for me to realise it. Lol. Just a suggestion, based from my experienced.

KERNEL - this you flashing using FlashToll from PC
ROM - zip file that you installing from CWM or xRecovery
Proper order (I assume that bootloader is unlocked already):
1. Make backup of apps using TitaniumBackup then xRecovery or CWM
2. copy new ROM to SD
3. turn on USB debugging
4. disconnect USB cable
5. shut down phone
6. run FlashTool and press "flash"
7. press and hold "back" button in phone and plug in USB
8. wait for flash is done ("flash complete ... disconnect ...")
9. disconnect USB
10. turn on phone and start tapping screen to enter CWM
11. using CWM menu install custom zip
12. do full wipe
13. reboot
14. wait.... it can take up to 5 mins
15. install Titanium and restore apps
If it will not run you just flash back stock kernel, then seus for stock rom, root it, install xrecovery or cwm and restore backup.

[Q] About "official" CyanogenMod

Is there any way to install the new released CyanogenMod or it is still something that we could dream of ?
Yes, download rom and
1. Copy zip on SD card
2. Flash FXP kernel
3. Run the CWM recovery (added in kernel)
4. Full wipe
5. Install rom
(If you have bootloop, make full wipe again)
Yes i was thinking about that and tried it! And guess what ... my phone didn't install it even trough xRecovery or CWM ...
and yes if you didn't understant for what i was asking ... i don't want to install the rom from the thread here in XDA ... i want to install the rom that is in the official site (which has kernel.sin in the zip folder which we can download)
Anyway thanks ... i know how to install the rom from the thread here
I was talking about official cyanogen release, install it with FXP kernel
it isn't working at all i tried it ... can you explain this step by step thanks !
I wrote it.
1. Copy zip on SD card
2. Flash FXP kernel
3. Run the CWM recovery (added in kernel) - Pressing buttons and touchscreen
4. Full wipe
5. Install rom - Install custom zip from SDcard
(If you have bootloop, make full wipe again)
Thanks again .... just one question only ... is the ZIP name ... update-cm-7.1.0-x8shakira or something like that ??? thanks
maybe my is update-cm-7.1.0-X8-signed
yes mine is also that named ... and there is a kernel.sin inside .... i made it in flashtool and now i'm gonna try it with that rom
do you know how to make from sin file tft?
Oh maaaaan!
CWM v5.0.2.3
(You can get in cwm recovery with the back button, not with touching the screen)
I am Installing...
Install from sdcard complete.
Do a fullwipe...
Booting cyanogen (mod)...
It's cool, but I have a question:
Where are the google apps?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973753
Here in the 3-rd post are the apps ...
I have one question i can't install the ROM
the problem is (Status 7) and the name of the phone .... should i go back with SEUS to do the update .... ?
How to...
If you want to install the OFFICIAL CyanogenMod for our devices you should do this:
1. Get the official 2.1 android for our devices (With seus or UPDATE SERVICE)
2. Root your phone!!!
3. Of course unlocked bootloader for flashing the FXP030 kernel!
4. The update ZIP from the site!
5. Press any key to load into Recovery
6. Choose the ZIP
7. In third post in this thread ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973753 ... download google apps and flash them!!!
8. Wipe everything (data,cache,dalvik,baterry)
9. Reboot and enjoy something really good!
P.S. Good luck !!!
After hour of testing:
Camera - only VGA
This rom is fast but very often it lags
Sound in call is low
Adw launcher lags much
This is the first OFFICIAL release .... so it is normal to have some kind of BUGS I think tommorrow we will have fully working CyanogenMod for Xperia X8 !!!
any bugs reported in cm7.1?

Do we have to unlock the bootloader and kernel in order to install the official ROM?
I can tell you why it "lags"! It's because of UV. When freq is below 600mhz phone is undervolted. And it lags for 1.5 sec when you touch screen if it's in UV mode. Make and expiriment:
Set governor to Performance.
Compare between ondemand and performance governors.
See the difference!

(GUIDE)How to get ROOT,WIFI+BT, CWM Recovery, Face unclock + Gapps for ICS BETA

Hey Guys, Just thought I would put together everything in one thread for everyone so you guys can get everything available for ICS beta atm, Most of this is thanks to DoomLord!
Firstly, To have CWM Recovery, Hotboot any kernel. I will explain
1. Download a kernel e.g Doomkernel v19 and hotboot via fast boot
Type in Fastboot boot boot.img
Then boot while repeatly pressing back button/volume rockets to enter recovery.
This will not flash this kernel only boot it so nothing else required
2. Then get into recovery by pressing volume rockers and flash whatever you need, after this reboot your device and thats it
Well it does require you to have PC access everytime you want recovery but it will have to do for now
OR for easier way simply install this CWM installer made by pvyparts which works fine with ics beta rom and don't need PC for it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437840
It could cause issues as this CWM isn't made for this but no issues have been reported as of now.
To Get faceunclock and google apps such as market, gmail:
1. Go to FXP Cm9 thread and download their latest gapps and flash via recovery( use method above for recovery)
To get ROOT access:
1.Flash the superuser fix via recovery ( access recovery via method above)
2. Go to the market and download busybox by Stephen Sterricson and then select any version of busybox and install it. NOW YOU HAVE ROOT
Thanks to Binary, We have WIFI And Bluetooth now too. Go into build.prop via Root explorer, OI file manager (free) or other file explorers:
add these lines into system/build.prop
persist.wifienabled=1
persist.btenabled=1
OR flash the package by Doomlord via recovery ( use method above). Much easier
Now we have everything that is needed Thanks to Binary and Doomlord once more.
Thanks alot .... All what is left for now is the Wifi fix .... doom said bin4ry has a build.prop fix or something anybody found it?
you are so quick mate
have you try using doom on screen button enabler??
I have wifi and root
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk
Thanks guys, and ill try and find the wifi thing. If i do ill update the thread
How did you get wifi working mate :O Please share
You can just hot boot doomkernel after installing se boot.img by
Fastboot boot boot.img
Once u restart from recovery it will revert to the original kernel
Sent from here to there.
Thanks updated OP
Hi guys,
I think Bin4ry's fix was that there's a line in build.prop called persist.wifienabled which needs to be set to 1 (true).
I'm backing up my ROM and then I'll try it on my arc, see if it works.
Cheers
EDIT: it works perfectly ;-)
Better flash a package to enabled wifi and bt.
In just 30 mins i got too much pn's about how to edit the file oO ....

this may help?

How to flash the SE Beta ROM? Urm its linked in the SE thread, heres how to do it though. Its all flashed via fastboot btw. Extract the package to fast boot folder and copy and paste userdata.img, system.img and boot.img to fastboot folder. Then open command prompt and:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot flash system system.img

Don't press so hard and/or don't flash so many different things, find something you're happy with and stick with it.
The only way you'll fix it is to take the phone in for repair.
Actually Now your phone's button may look too soft but i hope nothing happens why because when desingning all the hardwares, they will test in simulation method that is they make the buttons to operate continuously by an automated machine or something for very long period. So normally these buttons are operated by us average 5 times each (may be power button 10 times a day, even for this we can shuffle the home button and power button so that it will increase the life and for screen off we can use a widget.. Like this usage can be minimised) which doesn't affect its functionality so fast. I think the oldest note will 7 months or so.. I haven't noticed any thread that someone posted that their button has been replaced for failure! So no worries.. Forget it and enjoy flashing..
As knightnz said don't press too hard..

You have several completely unnecessary steps here. Why "flash ZSKK1 firmware and root it"? Why run jbroid 2 times? Why flash Abyss if you have a functional GB Recovery?
Your flashing procedure is too convoluted.
If you have a working GB CWMR:
1. reboot into Recovery
2. do your wipes
3. run jbroid
4. flash rom
5. reboot

I tried flashing from both TWRP 3 (from https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp...oot-automatic-repack-stock-kernel-dm-t3301605) and TWRP 2 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-compact/orig-development/twrp-z5-compact-t3235161) with the same results. Should I be using some other TWRP? Could it be an issue because I flashed over .378 instead of .376? I am downloading .376 now to try that...

Well I found I had E5823_32.3.A.0.376_R2D_Customized AU_1298-7260.ftf already downloaded so I flashed that, then flashed this TWRP https://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-compact/orig-development/twrp-z5-compact-t3235161 and finally flashed your rom...still no luck.
Am I at least using the right TWRP? Flashed by flashing both recovery and boot partition images? I'll try downloading the exact Z5C_32.3.A.0.376_R2R_AU variant next...
Edit: I don't see any R2R variant. I think I flashed the right one, in this case - R2D like in the thread title.

Thanks, that one worked! Also, I dirty flashed over .378, without clearing data, just cache and dalvik, and everything *seems* to be working fine
The kernel link not working ?
Does it have drm fix ?
Excellent ROM
The mods are exactly what I'm looking for...
Charging light is insane in stock... Root is out of the box... Battery life seems great...
Good show!
Source or any further explaination on "tweaks"?
@altvolt47 Do you know if the recently posted Z5Comp_SK_Perm_v376_III.3_14_3_ctl_X_suzuran kernel also has drm fix? My FIDO_KEYS are not provisioned and I'm wondering if this is why when using that latest kernel.

DRM fix works out of the box for me with this rom. Did you flash your DK.ftf file, made with your TA backup? I had to do that in order for the FIDO_KEYS to say provisioned. But even without that, you can check that X-Reality at least is working under regular Settings (that doesn't require a TA backup, just the DRM fix.)
My DK.ftf was lost in the wind a while ago I cry but nothing I can do now. I do have my TA-trim backed up in a twrp backup but that doesn't seem to work either... Oh well as long as the DRM fix works I'm not even sure what FIDO_KEYS provides me @cyberwytch
I have a customised MEA 376
Will it work on mine ?
Or i have to get the AU ftf ?
If so I'll be needing an AU ftf compatible with e5803 variant
I couldn't find an ftf for that
