What ROM are you using? I think it may be time for an update / switch. What do you mean the screen wont go off, it is unresponsive and you cant touch anything? Either try a 3rd party dialer (IE: Go Dialer) or install another ROM.

Don't you mean the screen won't go on? Maybe it's because of your Sense rom..

its been doing it since cm7 and also on texasics. And I'll be on the phone talking and try to turn the screen on to hang up and it won't turn on I have to do a battery pull. I'm on latest update

Isn't it just a broken power button? Do you use trackball wake? Try plugin in your charger, see if the screen lights up..

When I'm using the phone like normal it works and I also use trackball wake. It only stops working when I am trying to end a phone call

Try using "Powerbutton ends calls" feature. It is located in Settings> Accessibility (click cancel on the pop-up) and it will be the only option there to check. Then try to force end calls with power button and see if your screen still freezes.

End call button Problems

I just put the Fresh 2.1.1 rom on my sprint Hero, and everything is great except for when i push the end call button it doesnt turn off the screen. It still does if im at the lock screen, but anywhere past that i have to wait for the screen to timeout and turn off itself, and that is rather annoying. Anyone have/know how to fix this problem?
If fresh has spare parts installed open it up and check the options under spare parts>end button behavior>check put phone to sleep hope that helps

Virtuous Quattro Issues

Ok, i was going to post this in the Virtuous Quattro Thread, but i am not yet allowed to. Anyway, just a couple issues.
1. My lockscreen has dissapeared, i have not disabled it or anything. So when i press the unlock buttn, it lights up to the main screen.
2. My Home button doesnt work, which is really annoying
PLEASE HELP xD
you should go to settings > security > screen lock.
If its already at slide just turn it off and back. Should put it on there
Does your soft key vibrate when you touch it? Just wondering if its still responding to touch

Maybe re download Virtuous Quattro RC2 and reflash and see if it persists. Sure it's not a hardware issue with the home button?

That's really odd, I would concur with empirexdude and say reflash. If its software issue that's got to fix it...
Did you figure out the lock screen issue?

[Q] HTCOne Power-Off Problem

I got a confusing issue with my HTC One (T-Mobile Germany). When I sometimes push the power button to turn the device into sleep it directly wakes up by itself. So this issue is at stock (s-on, locked bootloader..) and custom rom (ARHD, TrickDroid , S-Off). It only works correctly on ViperOne with disabled capacitive buttons backligt. If capacitive buttons backlight is enabled, it appears on ViperOne too.
Got anyone a solution how to fix this problem?

I also have this issue with my HTC one.. have posted here b4 but no one replied..
I got that issue on every HTC device I owned. The Sensation, OneX and One. Not even the HTC support can help me with that.

You hit the power button, screen switches off, and then on?
I have that, but I only noticed it recently. Doesn't mean it didn't exist before. I dunno.
Yes I push the power button and the screen switches off and sometime on again. I had that with every HTC device having capacitive buttons. The only solution I found was flashing to Viper Rom and disabeling the capacitive buttons backlight.

you said that you had this issue with every htc device you had... well check my phone history, i had many htc devices, and never had this issue, but for you it seems like some app you are installing is causing this issue...... if possible, do a factory reset( I know its hard ), and then check if the problem persists... you can claim a warranty then...

With my Sensation I did that... got a new device two times and it happened again and again. But this is only if capacitive buttons backlight is on. Since I deactivated it in viper rom it never happened again. But I'd like to use Stock Rom.. and I love my One... dont want to claim a warranty again :/

[Q] (Q) HELP, HTC one, black screen, both buttons flashing

Hi I really need help with my HTC one,
I came back to it while it was charging, and the screen was on displaying dialog box saying that the phone will restart in one second. I barely had time to read the text but the phone went to a full black screen with both the back button and the home button flashing. Now these two buttons are constantly flashing even though I'm not holding any of the volume or power buttons down.
So both buttons have been flashing for over an hour now and they keep going. I've tried holding down the power button nothing happens. I tried holding down the volume keys nothing happens. Power and volume down...nothing.
I need some help thanks

Sounds maybe like a hardware problem? Try holding down power button while holding the phone directly under a bright light for around 30secs. If that doesn't work try power and volume down together, again under a bright light until your bootloader screen appears.

Bright light helped,
Power button managed to get the HTC quietly brilliant screen, but then goes to black screen and back to that htc screen again and again...
Power and volume down gets me to bootloader screen but within a few seconds I get back to the same looping htc screen...

Wait a minute...
Got passed that screen, saw my wallpaper, then it booted again...and again, and again...
Would it be because I was too anxious and went to the bootloader screen too many times?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Every time I go to the bootloader screen, I barely have time to do anything before I get back to the looping htc screen.
Now, for some reason, I got a screen with an exclamation mark in a triangle over a phone, stayed on for about two minutes, then back into the looping htc quietly brilliant screen...

Are you running everything stock? Recovery, unrooted, etc?
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Stock, not rooted,
How would I know if I'm in recovery...? So most likely I would guess that I wasn't, unless I am now since fiddling around the bootloader screen (like I said, on that screen I have about two seconds where I can move up or down but then I don't have time to select an option and the phone goes to the HTC screen...)

You probably weren't in recovery. Did you get the phone new or used? If your bootloader screen says **LOCKED** at the top of the screen and you got it new, if it were me I'd take it back to where I got it.
Sorry I can't help more, maybe someone else can help if they've seen this before..
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Got it new, says locked on top of the bootloader screen.
Factory reset at that point?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Don't ask me how but now I'm passed the booting screen and can use the phone.
BUT, both buttons are flashing...
Also, can't restart...holding the power button down won't do anything
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Like I said, if it were me I'd take it back for repair/replacement. That's not normal - especially for a device that's completely stock.

i'd try a factory reset if you can boot it.. if this does not help send it in for warranty.
How did you end up getting this fixed. I'm just getting this same problem and I have no clue how to fix it.

Xposed Installer 2.6 causing black screen on HTC One m8

Has any else come across the issue of having a black screen when trying to get to the home screen. I have to keep pressing my home button several times before finally getting the home screen.
Is that even without any active modules?
Yes, I took all modules off and I'm still getting the same black screen. I have to keep pressing the running apps button second from the right in the picture above before it'll take me to my home screen. I didn't add anything, I just updated Xposed installer. I don't know if maybe there's something else I need to update.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
It works on and off...
Anyone have any ideas on this? I've reflashed ARHD and still nothing.
