Sony In-Ear Headphones - Xperia Play Accessories

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-MDREX5...NMII/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1335741070&sr=8-1
Just got mine, they work great, great sound quality, they also come with different ear bud sizes which fit comfortably, they hardly fall out, for the price its totally worth it, very stylish too.
I found these after breaking the stock Xperia Play ones, i totally recommend these as a replacement =)

Hey! i use those ones since i got my play and they are way better than the ones that came with the phone, great sound, great bass, great quality, great comfort. I paid $27 for them on radioshack here in El Salvador

Thanks for the advice, will keep in mind when will need a replacement!

I wanted better sound than my stock earphones so I looked around and these were recommended
(I cant post links so just add the www) .sonymobile.com/gb/products/accessories/livesound-hi-fi-headset/
These are Sony Ericsson LiveSound, I liked them because of 2 reasons.
1. They sound incredible and all the different earbud sizes that come with them
2. They only work in Xperia phones so poeple at college couldnt ask to use them, I don't like people using my earphones.

Please Listen Me
Buddies,
The best headset to our Xperia Play is the stock I9000 (Galaxy S) headset.
This headset is 100% compatible with Xperia PLay, I have one. The Samsung Galaxy S and Xperia Play have the same P3 female plug. The sound of this headset is much more rich, good bass and awesome treble.
I bought one genuine on Ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260947028940&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:GB:1123
The seller is trust.
I've bought one Sony Livesound genuine from Ebay and can say, I9000 stock headset is far better. Livekey works great but the volume buttons won't work.
The Livesound is more beautiful, but the audio is worst.
Give a try for stock I9000 headset.
Thks!

Do you guys know if any of these would work?
Sony MDR-EX77SL
Sony MDR-EX210B
And if yes which one would you go with?

I just used the Sony Ericsson earphones that came in the box for the Xperia Play and they are absolutely rubbish ! I can hardly hear anything from them.
They're absolute ****e !

They do work & the MDR-EX210B

Thoughts on the stock headset?

This is my second "not" high end device from Samsung and once again I have been thoroughly impressed with the headset.
As far as mouthpieces go, it's adequate and works well. Could do with a few more controls etc.
I think the headphones themselves are what really stood out for me.
Whilst they're not Shure headphones at any rate, they are very good for stock. Better than HTCs and a lot more comfortable. They appear to handle a substantial amount of low end before the audio distorts and the dynamics are awesome!
What do you guys think?

I feel scammed, no extra cover nor headset.
For you people who did not receive headset and extra backcover:
It depends on which region you buy it!
I bought mine in Asia (HK) and didnt get any extra covers, but a headset was included.
If I had not experienced using the headphones myself i would really get the wrong idea from reading the first post. It's not that great (imo), the mic is alright though.

So Hi everyone, I'm new on the forum.
I buy Galaxy Ace two weeks ago and the box didn't have headphones. The man in the mobile shop gave me headphones with earbuds (rubbers) ..headphones like on SGS "GENUINE Samsung S5830 GALAXY ACE STEREO Headset Handsfree Headphones with Microphone"
Tried them in my Ace and the music sound was distorted, vocals seem far away/distant. ..Later, I tried them in Sony Ericsson X8...the sound was perfectly clear! Why? :|
Any help/thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Could be to do with your headphone input on your device. Try the headset on other devices/iPod etc. If it works, then it could be the phone.

Very surprise that you said the stock headset is quite good to use. I never open the plastic bag to take it out...! I use Senheiser's instead.
Will try it this evening.
I believe any headset would work as long as it has three insulating rings (white ones in the audio plug) similar to the factory stock.
the stock headset is just too much trebble.......
i hate it.....
i think 3$ headset is better.....
I bought one is Sri Lanka and it came with headsets and a spare back panel. But the headset in my opinion is not so great. may be there's a regional variation in that as well.
Although I like the stock headset, using even slightly better headphones shows a substantial increase in sound quality =S

I bought mine here in Italy ad it came with earphones + 2 back covers. it also came with both a usb cable and a charger.
The earphones (the are in the short left cable and long right cable configuration) are not that comfortable and the "mic thing" is that big that they should at least have added a volume control in it.
bought my ace form Germany and didnt get headphones, luckily i still got headphones from my old LG

Anyone using different headset than the original Samsung headset? If system please let me know becausebi tried several different type of headset which were 3.5mm btw, for my n's but they don't seem to work except the original Samsung headset which came with the phone...any ideas?

Bose is over priced, skull candy is worth only if u live in us. But IMO their sound quality isn't very remarkable, skull candy is notorious for its bass which sounds terrible.
If u are looking for Sth cheap while neutral sounding, u could go for the westones um2 series. Or St cheaper... the ultimatears200. Or if u dont wana pay convince some one to pas u their Sony ericsons in ears, they are pretty decent hahas. For ear buds, apple ones are decent.

The TF10 sounds awesome, but has serious fit issues for a lot of people, myself included.
bluetooth headset all the way, have never plugged a wire in other than for power.
try JLab earphones! paid 30 pounds for it on ebay as they are not being sold in my country. Really amazing sound quality, works perfectly, long lasting (now lasting already for 0.75 year which is long for me).
I have these
List for Samsung galaxy headset and headphones that work all three buttons & mic

Hey friends,
I read all your replies for this post. It seems like all are telling about headphones without mic.
Unfortunately my original headphone which I got with Nexus S is not working properly.
So please suggest me from where can I get the original samsung headphones or is there any adapter with mic with which I can connect to any other headset. Presently I am staying in UAE.
Thanks in advance.

Sony MH-EX300AP- Hit or Miss??!!

Hi all, the Z and ZL comes with a MH-EX300AP range of Earphones. Sony claims that it handles rich bass and is a premium one designed exclusively for the Z and ZL. Does it proves what Sony claims? My opinion is that it gives a respectful and a decent job compared to many stock ones provided! But what do you guys think? Do you use them or have a separate buds/cans? Post your opinions below. If you have been using the stock ones, tell us how do you feel and how it's performance were according to you, was it up to your expected mark and such. You can also mention some great earphone-headphone combos that goes with the Z/ZL well and which you've been using.:good:
BTW I am using my Klipsch Image S4 with Z, they literally rock with walkman!
This might help someone who are in the lookout for decent pair of buds/cans for Z/ZL
i just bought mw1 bluetooth wireless headset pro and I'm loving it....
headset is really good loud music volume and good basses !! also it shows sms on its screen and reads if want to hear, also I can read titles of my mails from heatsets screen too. and one more thing that you can do is to see calls log list of your device and call anyone from that list without touching the phone
now I don't need to open my phones flaps at all I have charging dock and if I want to upload some files to phone I just use airdroid and works like a charm.
Sound is great when they are in but The buds aren't working for me I can barely move with them in so I'm getting some over the ear NFC ones next month.

Yes they are, in India Sony gave up a cheap pair of Headphones which don't actually sound at all when compared to the one given in UK! So when compared to those and those stock ones which came with my arc, these sound better must admit. Lack of volume button is a glaring omission though!

They are excellent for bundled headphones, but they are so unbelievably quiet.
I find them crackly/distorted and way too quiet, but they do have good bass if not overpowering bass. Sticking with my Shure buds though, better clarity

They are quite though, but they never sounded distorted to me!
I made a little comparison with my other 3 sets . I'm using pureXaudio v4, with Noozxoide musicFX ,
MH-EX300AP
They're not bad , actually very nice to listen to , but way too quiet. I find them comfortable to wear ,and good fit if i switch left-right HP, and lead the cables behind my ears. Bass is ok, nothing special, but atleast it's not overpowering the higher frequencies . MIdrange is the best part of them i would say. They don't respond that well when changing settings in noozxoide mfx. You can't hear much difference between effects
Sennheiser CX300-II
If you're in search for relativly cheap upgrade from stock sony one's, i wound say this is a way to go. Loud enough ,out of the box they are to "boomy", but by clicking the "soft clipping compressor" option in Nmfx gets them similar sounding to sony one's , but with much better bass response. You do get clearer sound in sony mx-ex300ap.. Those of you that are bass hungry would be very satistifed with them .
NCredible NErgy by Monster
Complete opposite to CX300-II,and much louder that ex300ap. . Bass is not their strong side(better that sony thought),, but voices are a real joy listening to. If your into rock and easy listening , these one are for you . Downside ? Pricey and you'll often find yourself dialing down the treble .
Sennheiser IE80
You can't really compare them to the others ,cause they can sound like whatever headphones you would like them to be , Louder than any IEM's i have ever tried , and even thought the bass is stronger than on cx300, it's not overwhelming ,and you can always hear vocals and background stuff loud and clear .(oh ,and the price bit, but i got them for like 300$, so i don't regret any $ spend . So ,if you really want to change your experience on listening to the music on portable devices, get one of these if you find a good deal
They might not be the best but they're certainly the best earphones I've ever got bundled with a phone. For me there's is no need to change them as they satisfy my needs perfectly. Period.
PS. I am going to buy SBH20 bluetooth headset and use EX300AP with it though.

They range on ebay from 350$-500$, but i would rather look up for them is some local store, and get extended warranty if possible .I have 5years on mine I got IE80 after 2 warranty claims on ie8 in short time(they were discontinued) . Those happened while i was having nokia e72, so i think there was something really wrong with output connection on nokia, as they also messed up another pair of cx300. 3 years ago this headphones were much cheaper (almost 200$), so that's the reason i got mine for under 300$.

Search Google for head-fi forums/audiophile forums . They have threads with comparisons and testing. I have read ( dont remb which forum) a thread in which they compared about 100-200 heads/in ears ranging from cheep china ones to akg's 1800$ kid!!! . Seriously most of the stock in ears that comes with phones lacks the juice. I own 3 headphones and 5 in ears. And none of them are stocks that comes with phones. I also have a beats in ear which comes with htc( i think its a over rated adv) . And a nokia in ear ( i re-wired it to suit my htc/computer. I use it for sleeping coz its flat cable is much more stronger , and wont break easily if i sleep over it.. , also it sounds enough for its price). A samsung one( broken cable), an old Sony Ericsson hpm 70( my fav one at that time, still i keep them). Enough story!
My fave is xba 4 sony . Cost almost 8000 Indian rupee!!! ( lol that was a tight one for some fresh engineer, it was about ⅓ of my salary!!!) . And i earned my passion for now, future plan is an AKG with a tube amp for it.

I was shocked when I learned that these headphones doesn't have volume controls !!
After doing some search I found that there's no standard for volume controls, so headphones should be design for specific devices only.. there's no standard even between Android devices from different companies, IE Samsung headphones volume controls does not work on Sony mobile phones and so on ( I've checked Note 2 headphones on Xperia S, audio is okay, answer key is working but not volume keys )...
I think that's why Sony is not thinking seriously with these volume keys even for a good bundled headphones like these... but this problem should not stop them I think it will be better to use Apple standards as Sony already have some products that are iPhone compatible and in the same time there's a huge market of headphones that are made for iProducts, they just need to support it in their devices.. unless there's some legal things and if Apple want some licensing thing for such silly thing then no... but if there's nothing then what ever is popular is good
The only thing I can think that will be compatible with all devices is to use a stereo bluetooth headset...

Any good earphone / headphones???

Right. I listen mainly pop/rock. Since the bundled is simply not loud enough, I would need something much louder.

Well many people complain about the loudness of the XZ, try flashing ZeroFinity's soundmod. And for the ear phones I would suggest you to take a look @ headfi.org. There is no other place where you can get recommendations to what device you should buy. I also got mine after read that forum.

I just tried the XZ with a Skullcandy 50/50 and that one is way louder. Also, tested the Sony earbuds with the laptop and it is bad with it either, so it is deffinitely the earpods. I will check on headfi as well, thanks for the advice.
I'm using Shure SE215 in-ears. Would recommend them any day!
Amazing bass and nice hights when you use an EQ to finetune them a little. Also the cable is completely detachable / replaceable.
The customer support is amazing too, my old SE115 started to fail after 2,5 years of excessive use, still I got a 50% rebate when I send them in in exchange for the SE215.
