I'm assuming you're talking about the headphones? I've been using some cheap Skull Candy HPs for the longest time with no issues. I got the phone used so all I got was a charger. Haha. Can't say I've ever heard of the problem you're having though.

Bose is over priced, skull candy is worth only if u live in us. But IMO their sound quality isn't very remarkable, skull candy is notorious for its bass which sounds terrible.
If u are looking for Sth cheap while neutral sounding, u could go for the westones um2 series. Or St cheaper... the ultimatears200. Or if u dont wana pay convince some one to pas u their Sony ericsons in ears, they are pretty decent hahas. For ear buds, apple ones are decent.

The TF10 sounds awesome, but has serious fit issues for a lot of people, myself included.

bluetooth headset all the way, have never plugged a wire in other than for power.

try JLab earphones! paid 30 pounds for it on ebay as they are not being sold in my country. Really amazing sound quality, works perfectly, long lasting (now lasting already for 0.75 year which is long for me).
I have these

List for Samsung galaxy headset and headphones that work all three buttons & mic
- urbeats
- htc beats solo
- Sony smart headset
- Nocs NS200H-001
Update as I found some more

Try beyer dynamic! Best sound. 10 times beter than beatsaudio.

Headphones
Hey friends,
I read all your replies for this post. It seems like all are telling about headphones without mic.
Unfortunately my original headphone which I got with Nexus S is not working properly.
So please suggest me from where can I get the original samsung headphones or is there any adapter with mic with which I can connect to any other headset. Presently I am staying in UAE.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Vinu

Sennheiser is a litter expensive, but the quality is very good

Add pretty much all the Samsung "audio" Bluetooth headsets.
I found an HM6450 for $29.99 at an office supply store. Sounds fine to my (middle-aged) ears.

Thoughts on the stock headset?

This is my second "not" high end device from Samsung and once again I have been thoroughly impressed with the headset.
As far as mouthpieces go, it's adequate and works well. Could do with a few more controls etc.
I think the headphones themselves are what really stood out for me.
Whilst they're not Shure headphones at any rate, they are very good for stock. Better than HTCs and a lot more comfortable. They appear to handle a substantial amount of low end before the audio distorts and the dynamics are awesome!
What do you guys think?

I feel scammed, no extra cover nor headset.
For you people who did not receive headset and extra backcover:
It depends on which region you buy it!
I bought mine in Asia (HK) and didnt get any extra covers, but a headset was included.
If I had not experienced using the headphones myself i would really get the wrong idea from reading the first post. It's not that great (imo), the mic is alright though.

So Hi everyone, I'm new on the forum.
I buy Galaxy Ace two weeks ago and the box didn't have headphones. The man in the mobile shop gave me headphones with earbuds (rubbers) ..headphones like on SGS "GENUINE Samsung S5830 GALAXY ACE STEREO Headset Handsfree Headphones with Microphone"
Tried them in my Ace and the music sound was distorted, vocals seem far away/distant. ..Later, I tried them in Sony Ericsson X8...the sound was perfectly clear! Why? :|
Any help/thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Could be to do with your headphone input on your device. Try the headset on other devices/iPod etc. If it works, then it could be the phone.

Very surprise that you said the stock headset is quite good to use. I never open the plastic bag to take it out...! I use Senheiser's instead.
Will try it this evening.
I believe any headset would work as long as it has three insulating rings (white ones in the audio plug) similar to the factory stock.
the stock headset is just too much trebble.......
i hate it.....
i think 3$ headset is better.....
I bought one is Sri Lanka and it came with headsets and a spare back panel. But the headset in my opinion is not so great. may be there's a regional variation in that as well.
Although I like the stock headset, using even slightly better headphones shows a substantial increase in sound quality =S

I bought mine here in Italy ad it came with earphones + 2 back covers. it also came with both a usb cable and a charger.
The earphones (the are in the short left cable and long right cable configuration) are not that comfortable and the "mic thing" is that big that they should at least have added a volume control in it.

Advice: Get a couple of real studio headphones. They give out a so much cleaner, richer and less muffled sound. Alot of headphones today seem to bounce the frequencies around whilst studio headphones normally don't do that I reccomend looking for a pair of Shure or Behringers. Alot of them are reasonably priced not like most of the **** lying around in the market today.
i tried ear phones of sony ericssion also of blackberry..they work best

Get it Right.
The sound quality also depends on the Music Player you have installed, I got PowerAmp and Had the Equalizer set-up, I own Beats,Sony,Philips earphones. and honestly it sounds pretty nice on all the earphones.
P.s
I have to admit that Dr. dre's beats are overpriced earphones for the sound quality they produce.

Get the LG Tone+ HBS-730, search on amazon (I can't post links yet.). I have the first generation of the LG Tone HBS-700 the sound quality is alright if you aren't an audiophile. I've read that the sound quality is better in the 730s. The style of these make them perfect to wear under a collared shirt. I use them everyday and get about 3-5 days worth of listening between charges. The headset even vibrates when you get a call.
I have the Sony MW600. LINK. I love them. The majority of the time I only want to keep one ear bud in, and with these I can do that. You can also use any kind of headphones with them.
I had the Plantronics BB903+'s. I thought their sound quality was really good, and I was all excited to use them with my phone when I go mountain biking. I got so insanely frustrated with the sound cutting out every now and then that I stopped using them. A day later, my dog ate them. Eh, whatever. :good:
As I read around through reviews of other comparable bluetooth headsets I can't help but to question that perhaps audio skipping is somewhat common. As a result, I've personally chosen to stick to traditional headphones. That being said, I'm super curious if anybody has experience with bluetooth headphones that DON'T cut out at all. Eh?
i love my jaybird freedoms. the only thing that is even remotely annoying about them is they charge with a mini usb, other than that, they're light, have great sound and super comfortable. before that i tried a pair of moto ones that were just an all 'round unpleasant experience.
Thanks for suggestions guys, will mull it over

I have both of those units. The trade off is; HBS-700 ok sound, but long BT range (25ft) vs. HBS-730 better sound, but short BT range (10ft).
Sony Ericsson MW600 user here as well. I love that lil sucker. I use my Shure SE215's (clear) and any headsets I can muster like my Sol Republic Amps HD or Sol Republic Ultra's or whatever you have and like. I mean the sound is not like it is when plugged directly in, but sound better than stock nonetheless.

I was looking at those but they were a bit out of my price range
I got my MM 100's in today, and I'm impressed. Very clear audio for something this size, as expected from Sennheiser. They feel a bit cheap but I think that's more in the interest of making them light rather than saving money. I don't think they're worth the retail price ($150 ), but I got mine factory refurbished from a seller on amazon for around $40 and they came looking brand new, in refurb packaging of course.
Since I paired these with my phone first I tried call quality, and nobody had any issues understanding me.
EDIT: After some more listening it seems these headphones are lacking in bass... not that there isn't enough volume, but it is literally cutting out frequencies.
I hava nokia bh214 stereo bluetooth ,it's perfect for music & talk
I use the Sony Ericsson MW600, great batterytime, you can use whatever headphones you want and now it's almost for free.
Bought the Sony WS1, little on the expensive side but have alot of functions, same as the MW600 you can use other headphones but the ones that comes with are exellent, SD-slot only drawback is the batterytime...
I use a set of Motorola SF600's and a Plantronics M155 (for single ear A2DP goodness while hiking).
My thoughts on the SF600 are far different than moth peoples, apparently. I love them. I have had zero issues with them, and I am tough on them. They sound PHENOMENAL and the range is incredible. They also support Apt-X, but since the Nexus 7 doesn't, that isn't really a concern. Apt-X is awesome though.
The Plantronics is... OK. It rattles at high volume, and is generally annoying, but its great for the group hikes I go on (for when I am tired of hearing people whine and blabber on ) and it is really good for listening to music in the office.

The reviews that I read about the 730's were that they were a downgrade. Owners of the 700 and the 730 said to not get the 730.
They also said that more than 5' away or loss of line of sight caused the 730s to drop out.

What headphones to get.

Sty I'm going to spend a gold chin on a pair of headphones.
My first though was to get sennheiser HD 650 but I read around and it seems they need an amplifier to be able to make good sound. I then looked at b&w p5 but there are so many mixed reviews of it.
Any recommendations on "audiophile" headphones in the same price range as the two mentioned above?

What are you looking for in headphones? Do you want them to be mellow like the hd650? Or do you want something even more bassy? Something that puts emphasis on the treble? Neutrality? Emphasis on both bass and treble? Would you rather them be open like the hd650 or closed?
Anyways, one suggestion I can put up is the he400, but if you can find out what you are looking for, I can give you other suggestions... The he400's performance can be improved with an amp and dac, but it still can sound good without these.

I want the sound to be as close as possible to the original sound (the way the studio equalized the songs to be).
I'll take a look at the he400 and hopefully can test them in a store.

They come with 3 sets of ear tips to fit any ear. BTW
Just check out the Audio-Technica ATH-M50 it's available in multiple colors. I like the White-on-White combination if you have a white Note 2.
The good: The Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Professional Studio Monitor Headphones offer excellent build quality and very detailed, balanced sound with tight bass. They're also very comfortable and are a relative bargain.
The bad: There's no integrated microphone for making cell phone calls; the bulkier design makes them less suitable for mobile use; and the headphone cord isn't detachable.
The bottom line: The Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Professional Studio Monitor Headphones are among the best available for less than $200, offering excellent sound and build quality.

Hmm, well there's the K701/702/Q701 family with their analytical sound signature or the DT880. But, since you don't want to get an amp, it's going to be tough to find something in that price range. The he400 seems like your best bet, however it's more of a fun sounding headphone.
Perhaps, the MS2 or ad900? If you still want to go with sennheisers, you may want to get the hd600 instead, the hd650 have been tuned to have more emphasis in the lower frequencies and are less neutral.
You could also very well think the headphones you chose will sound fine without an amp...

the OP has the same issue as me. In ears just dont work! I wish they made some on ear or around the ear ones with android functionality.
I know what audiophiles say about bose (Buy Other Sound Equipment) but I have had very good luck with my bose ie2 earphones. They are in ear non noise canceling ear buds, but unlike most ear buds, they actually stay in your ears and are extremely comfortable. Definitely worth a look.

I personally do not think its worth it unless you are really serious about listening to music on your phone. I just take what my phone gives me and save the actual listening for when I'm connected into my setup. The Note 2 does the job with my Sennheiser 558s. I wouldn't want to add extra bulk and things to carry around for better audio out of my phone while walking around.

Any recommendations on "audiophile" headphones in the same price range as the two mentioned above?
