This is kinda funny since there are so few roms and mods for the 7.7 that they are all on the first page of the dev forum as it is.

[ROM][P6810][ICS]CM9 - Jelly Bean Edition -

I made this rom for myself at the beginning but judging from the very low number of custom roms for P6810 I thought I might as well share it.
This rom is based on the CM9 by Locerra (huge kudos to Locerra for his great work).
I modified it to make it look and (somewhat) feel like JB, hope this helps you wait till Locerra's CM10 is at a daily driver stage. EDIT : it now is quite a daily-driver
List of Changes
- Added Jelly Bean Boot animation from the Nexus 7
- Added Jelly Bean Animations
- Added Jelly Bean Fonts
- Added Google Now & Google Now Voice Search
- Added Jelly Bean Lockscreen
- Added Google Ears (JB music recognition widget)
- Added Jelly Bean Wallpapers in Trebuchet (in "wallpapers" in the wallpaper picker)
- Changed Default wallpaper to the most famous JB wallpaper
- Added Jelly Bean Apps (Google Music, Magazines, Books, Gallery, FaceUnlock, Video editor...)
- Added Jelly Bean Apollo Theme
- Added Beats-Audio modified DSP Manager
- Included latest ICS gapps
- Included latest Solid Explorer, Flipboard, Maps & Street View, Chrome, maybe other apps...
- Added a lot of build.prop tweaks
- Included the wifi-hotfix provided in Locerra's thread
- Zipaligned
Known Issues
- The bootanimation might be buggy, don't worry if the animation is stuck, the tab is still booting.
- Same as Locerra's CM9
- Default wallpaper might be cut at first boot but changing to another and then back will fix it
- Report if you find another
Disclaimer
I am not responsible for any kind of damage made to your device while flashing this rom, flash this at your very own risk.
Always make sure you have a nandroid backup before flashing. Do not flash this rom on a P6800 (3G version), only P6810 !
Be very careful with the Galaxy Tab 7.7, never format /system in CWM mounts & storages, our tab suffers from Super Brick MMC_CAP_ERASE bug.
(Writing a guide on how to revive a Superbricked galaxy tab 7.7, will publish in a few days...This bug really is a P.I.T.A...).
How to Install
If coming from another rom than CM9, i would recommend to wipe /data.
If you come from Locerra's build then just :
¤ Wipe cache
¤ Wipe dalvik
¤ Flash the rom from CWM
¤ Reboot
Do not flash the gapps they are already included.
Download Here (Multiupload)
Please feel free to make mirrors
Credits
- Locerra for bringing CM9 and CM10 to our lonely tab
- ...Awesome... for Beats-Audio DSP Manager (thread here)
- Mobint for Holo Locker (Play store link here)
- Mr.Krypton for Google Now on ICS
- I took some other add-ons from threads i can't remember. if I forgot you just let me know, i'll add you.
If you like the ROM please press the THANKS BUTTON
Any chances of build for P6800? Would like to try. Thanks..
Think I am going to try this tonight..many thanks mate!
If I am coming from Locerra's CM9 do I need to do a full wipe?

Couldn't manage to unpack any galaxy tab 7.7 kernel using the usual perl scripts etc...
This is because samsung uses ramdisks without a header, or with a 512b header in the middle (this causes the "Android magic not found" error).
(yeah i know, header +in the middle = contradictory^^). I tried asking to Ezy as he is the creator of the only custom kernel for P68XX that i know, but he did not answer
Only way i found is to compile kernel from source (you can get the sources at opensource.samsung.com) but i didn't look into it already.
I am interested in this too, if you find something useful, please let us know.
Can someone put the file somewhere else please?
I keep getting errors on the other download!

I've currently hacked the Cyanogenmod build system to recompile the source when updating the initramfs, but I would much rather use the standard repackaging tools if possible.

Thank you for sharing this build. As you said, there is a very limited selection for the wifi-only version of the galaxy tab 7.7. So I am very happy that I can flash this :victory:

Yeah Samsung would make our lives easier if they would do like others do...
Really glad to hear you found a workaround for that issue.
Do you think you could make a version of your regular CM9 or CM10 kernel just removing the damn MMC_CAP_ERASE for P6810 ?
My Tab had the superbrick bug and now everytime I wanna flash a ROM or test one of my builds I have to spend 15+ minutes on e2fsck and parted to be able to flash and boot it properly because it re-bricks everytime...
Anyway thanks for all the awesome work you did and keep doing for the 7.7 community:good:
Installed fine over CM9, had to manually re-install Chrome but other than that its working nicely.
Cannot figure out how to get google Now up - but other than that it looks ok.

Every kernel that I've used for CM and for CWM has had MMC_CAP_ERASE disabled (including the current one).

Thanks for the feedback. Just use the google searchbox that is on home screens to bring up google now.
You can also simply use the "google" app in your app drawer. For the voice you'll have to use the "Voice search for google now" app.
Just click the quicksearchbox mic and select this app as default.

Thanks a lot for that.
Bad news for me though, I thought this would fix the issue, but that means it only takes one mmc_cap_erase for it to corrupt your partitions everytime you wipe something, even if it's disbled in the kernel you run next

How to Flash Video
Thanks to hamdogg
How to flash:
Nandroid Backup before flash is highly recommended!
Load *.zip on your SD/EXT Card
Restart in CWM
Be sure you’re on SAFE KERNEL, then you can wipe
Full wipe /data/factory reset /cache and dalvik
Format /data /system and /preload
Flash the ROM
Wait some minute until your phone boot!
For people who have Unrooted phone and ICS 4.0.4:
I can show an easy way to flash it.
Just download GL_NOTECORE_HYDRACORE_v4-3b_STD.tar
Flash it with Odin 1.85, (Click PDA, choose hydracore and press Start)
After this you will have Root on your phone. Restart it and check if Hydracore Kernel is correctly installed.
Now you can go into CWM and flash the Rom.
(to go in recovery press Volume UP + Power Button + Home Button at same time until the phone is booted into CWM)
The kernel you're flashing before installing Rom doesn't matter since with v4 will be replaced by PhilZ 3.1 for XXLS7
...That's all!

Anyone can give review of this rom, tried downloading but mirror Download speed is in between 100-200 k only, and download get inerrupted
what's so different ?

@Joosh, not sure if you have seen and plan on answering the questions people had about this ROM and whether you have managed to fix the other "bugs" all the other JB leaks currently out there have? And not sure if you are looking to build a following in the forum but pics in OP, exact build changelog etc are requisite to build confidence in your potential users. And personally updater script errors should be the least of what we have to worry about. Good luck, anyway.
Same here! Im already coming from a XXLS2 that have Philz Kernel and same Installation aborted. ( status 6)
V2 is out!

Well, this ROM is completely based on files that eybee1970 posted.
I added working SNote files under
/system/app
SMemoProvider_Q1.apk
SMemo_Q1.apk
Snote_Q1_Provider,apk
/data/app
QuickSnote_Q1.apk
Snote_Q1.apk
Anyway files can be downloaded from here: SNote Files
Added also tweaks to have better battery life.
Can someone confirm if productivity tools in snote is working on this Rom?
Also can someone share the battery tweak.
Thanks

I tried almost all custom LS2 leaked ROMs, and I have the following notifications:
1- no one try to solve or at least to highlight galary problem (galary can't refresh by itself for new modification of your files!!) even this one.. I hope after this post that many of you try to check galary problem and try possible fixes for this issue..
2- almost all custom ROMs are excellent but the problem is with RAM consumption!! some apps will be chunky if RAM is more 700mb occupied!!
Is there any difference like all other tw jb. Devs popup now we have JB.
O i saw this line in op "Be sure you're on SAFE KERNEL, then you can wipe" Be carefull with this. Itf ills up your thread.
Downloading now, thanks. Let's see the difference.

[ROM][PORT] MIUI Gingerbread for Samsung SGH-T499 Dart

My original thread which is on madteam can be found here: http://madteam.co/forum/development-70/(rom)(port)-miui-gingerbread/
This Is a Port of MIUI for the Samsung SGH-T499
The Base of this Rom is DashBlacK's CM7
The Origional ROM is ahmadsafar's port of MIUI to the Samsung Galaxy Mini
Base Here: http://madteam.co/forum/development-70/(development)-cyanogenmod-7-2-0-rc0-'dart(sgh-t499)'-port/
Original ROM Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1764018
**Not a Daily Driver Yet**
Bugs:
-Everything From CM7.
-Icons (They're Too Small)
-Keyboard(Too Big)
-MOAR! - incoming call screen is sized weird.
This is my first foray into making a ROM Myself, I did this because I think given out small screen size
and weak CPU MIUI is a good option for this device.
Any and All help is greatly appreciated, I'm an accounting student who loves android so community help would
be great. FEEL FREE to modify this, share it, and use it in any way you see fit. This is for the community

The base that I used for this rom was DashBlacK's CM7 build. That build is now depreciated and there is a newer version I believe on the MadTeam forum for the Samsung Dart. I ported from the Galaxy Mini MIUI rom, there were a number of roms I tried porting from and I don't remember exactly everything I used as I did this awhile ago. I started out using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908008 and went from there. If you're interested in working with the dart I suggest posting on the MadTeam forum, there are still a couple people developing for the dart. I would continue my work but unfortunately I moved on to a newer device.

This is for the Samsung Dart (SGH-T499) I posted this here because the Dart does not have it's own forum and I saw a couple of other dart related threads. If a mod wants to move this somewhere more appropriate that is fine.

Hi.
I can put the stock kernel in OTA.
Wait a couple of minutes and you will find it in the kernels section.
But my friend way not try a better one such as Siyah?
Edit: OTA has now the Stock Kernel and Siyah Kernel

[ROM][JB4.3]Ganbarou GT-P7500/7501/7510/7511 Android 4.3 based on CM10.2

What's new?
V4.05: Not much news, everybody is working on Android 4.4 KitKat. This version has only updated to newest CM10.2 sources.
WARNING:
When flashing V4.05 after full wipe the setup assist will crash. You need to flash V4.04, then setup everything, then flash V4.05 without full wipe. Only wipe cache and dalvik-cache. then it works.
SOLUTION
When the initial setup manager hangs press volume up or down.
When the volume bar appears press the icon on the left of the bar and settings will open.
In settings enable WiFi and connect to a WiFi network manually
Press the home button and initial setup manager will start again, but this time it will not hang.
To enable the navigation buttons in the status bar:
Settings->Interface->Expanded desktop->select "Status bar visible"
Settings->Interface->Status bar->check "Enable Navigation in status bar"
Press power button to get power menu ->click on "Expanded desktop"
To enable brightness control by swyping on the status bar:
Settings->Display->Brightness->disable automatic brightness control
Settings->Interface->Status bar->check “Brightness control”
What's this about?
This is the next release of my Ganbarou GT series of ROMs.
It is based on Android 4.3 and CM10.2 source code and flavoured to my own needs.
I build this ROM from sources for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 (GT-P7500/GT-P7501/GT-P7510/GT-P7511), the Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505) and (if my wife gives it back to me) the Galaxy Note (GT-N7000).
What's the difference to Cyanogenmod CM10.2?
There is no official CM10.2 ROM for the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
Initial differences to generic CM10.2 are:
Ganbarou wallpaper
Ganbarou bootanimation
Ganbarou About screen (Ganbarou changelog, Ganbarou version, Ganbarou easter egg)
Reboot and Recovery on top level of power menu
Navigation buttons can be placed left, right or centered on the lower bar
Added TitaniumBackup (in appsdata) for quick restore after you installed a new ROM
Added GooManager for updates of the ROM
Added JellyBean 4.3 compatible Google apps
Edited APN list to cover Softbank Japan
Adds free hosts file
Removed Cyanogenmod initialisation app
Removed Cyanogenmod updater
Removed Cyanogenmod wallpapers
Removed all live wallpapers
What are your risks with this ROM?
Code:
#include std_disclaimer.h;
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
* If you do not understand the instructions how to flash the ROM move on
* and don't blame me if your device is bricked afterwords.
*/
How to install:
Get the ROM
From my homepageFrom Goo.IMFrom MegaFrom XDA-developers projects
Copy it to your internal SDcard
Reboot the tablet into recovery mode (CWM or TWRP, both works if you have the latest version)
In case you come from a ROM that is not Android 4.3 then a factory reset / full wipe is necessary. I recommend a full wipe in any case to get a clean installation.
Flash the ROM
Wipe cache and dalvik-cache
Reboot
Where can I download the ROM?
Obviously you skipped the "How to install" section. Check a few lines above for the instructions and download links.
If you are interested to build the ROM fresh from sources you can checkout my repository on Github.

Working fine on my tablet, as you can see on the screenshot in my first post. What modem do you have installed at the moment? Maybe you need to update the modem to the latest version?
Ok guys here i bring you the TabletUI back on GTab and android 4.3. I hope it works, cant test it at the moment. I attached two versions. The 2nd one is for reflashing of the boring PhabletUI. Try it out and give some feedback.

Hello hanspampel,
Thanks for your work. Didn't try your patch yet, it is too late here.
You patched my source or the compiled ROM? Is it switchable or permanent? Can you share with me what you changed? I can try to bring it back to my ROM if it doesn't mess up the syncing with the original CM sources.
I patched your ROM. Its not switchable, its hardcoded. Like it was on CM10.1. So no chance of in app changing or something else. This is why i attached the PhabletUI too.
Ive found the code here.
Just got a message that the camera is not working. I confirmed on my tablet that it is true. Anbody out there with the camera working?
I am sorry for the problem. Will try to fix it asap and post a new version.

Cool thnx for the effort! Have you compared it to CM10.1? I'm currently running cm10.1 on my galaxy tab 10.1 and I recently switched from cm10.1 to cm10.2 on my S4. I experienced more snappiness with 10.2 on the S4, I was wondering if this would give me a similar performance boost on my galaxy tab .

I am doing the Ganbarou ROM for the Galaxy Tab 10.1, the Galaxy Note and the Galaxy S4, because I own all three devices and I have the same good experience on all three devices.

Yeah, I read that, cool bro!
But did you, by chance, compare it's performance to the performance on the previous version of android (4.2.2)? Is it snappier, of just on par?

My personal feeling is that Android 4.3 is snappier than 4.2.2. I didn't run any benchmarks and speed tests on the ROMs, as I always prefer to feel it in person. And I still think 4.3 is faster than 4.2.2.
But never forget, even if 4.3 is now officially released, there will come a lot of improvements before Android 5.0 is available as source! You might see some situations where the OS is slowing down or even crashing! But that is what Android is about! Continous improvement, release by release! And OPENSOURCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That makes the difference to iOS and WindowsMobile (or whatever they call it now).

Boot animation is working fine on my tablet. What recovery app are you using? I heard on Phils recovery on Android 4.3 the boot animation is not showing. Please update to CWM or TWRP recovery and it will show. That is a known problem.
Yeah i know, cool that you built this one, I'm gonna flash this tonight on my 10.1 tab en will be coming her regularly .
