[Q] Any web browser that do not crash? - Nook Touch Themes and Apps

I have tried the built-in Browser, the two Opera browsers and also Easy Browser. All of them crash in the first ten seconds. Is there any browser that actually works with my Nook Touch? Thanks in advance.

If your NST (with or without glowlight) was properly rooted, Opera should be your browser of choice. I've been running it a very long time with no problem at all. All others will be lacking functionality.

I guess it's properly rooted, I think I followed the instructions in this web. Is there a solution or anything? Or a explanation at least? As soon as I open it closes itself...
EDIT:
I've tried uninstalling and installing, crashed at the beginning... actually it crashed just inmediately after the "Welcome to Opera Mini" screen...
EDIT 2:
OK, now it crashes only when loading a page, but not at the welcome page (the one with some page links in images)...
EDIT 3:
OK, I figured out something. The version that crashes is Opera Mini. I've been trying Opera Mobile (which I had to add manually because I couldn't find it in the Market) and it seems to be OK. Was that the problem? Thanks.

Try to:
Fix permissions
Clear dalvik cache

I don't need to, it's working now, but I wanna know if my problem was because of using the "Mini" version of Opera instead of the "Mobile" one (which by the way wasn't on the market when I searched for opera).

Yes, opera mini crashes for me..but opera mobile works fine.
Regarding not finding opera mobile in market...
Install searchmarket to be able to search in market.
Alternatively you can go to play.google.com on a computer
and remotely install an app on the nook.

I prefer from all the browsers the dolphin HD,never had a problem
Sent from my MT11i using Tapatalk 2

i use opera mobile for default. and have dolphin installed in case of flashed content. they both does their work well.

Try "Maxthon browser".
P.S. My NST came back from the US. (finally I'm back)

Dolphin HD always crash, but Dolphini Mini works perfectly.

Sleipnir web browser
Today I discovered Sleipnir Web Browser for Android.
After playing with browsers settings it seems that everything works like it should.
Gestures work, it does not crash even with multiple tabs opened etc..

UC Browser! :victory:
UC Browser works really, really well!
Of course the side buttons don't work despite an option for volume control scrolling but other than that it works really really well.
I've tried a few. Skyfire works slightly better than opera mini. I tried Dolphin and I'm really not sure what the developers are smoking but I don't want any of it. I suspect it rots the brain.
but UC browser works great. I'm running 9.x and its fantastic but there is also a UC browser mini that is less fantastic but smaller but I much prefer the full version.
It's the browser with a squirrel logo.
I think I downloaded it from 1stMarket as I can't get play to work and the amazon app store isn't supported in the UK.

you are talking about Google Maps Street View. Just go to google.com/gmm on your mobile phone browser and you can download. It has been available for a couple weeks.

if you just want a nice page with icons as links for the services you could easily make a web page, store it on your phone and and set it as the home page for your web browser.
m.google.com is a simple page with lots of nice links to all google services.
Maybe juanikiki could be a bit more specific on what they need.
OK here is what I'm talknig about.

Well
I think Chrome even if it´s not a beta anymore, it´s a very young browser, fast in fact but very limitated in other functions, maybe in a couple of years is going to be a great option, but by now I´ll stick to the majestic Opera!
nice browser ... shame its not on mac yet
Oh well,. yeah,. thanks for the info guys!!,. i am downloading now,. hehe,. last time i download before i format my PC, it say Google Chrome BETA,.
Some issues I run into (I've used it since day one of it's release to the public):
Flash videos work off and on. This seems to be consistent, I will go to play a youtube video and will need to restart the browser because the audio or video will not play.
Spellcheck sucks.
Very few add on's. Add on's are what make firefox so great.
Some pages just do not interact well with Chrome. If you go to a lot of message boards you know what I mean.
Highlighting anything is a PIA. Many times you will will try to highlight one individual word and end up with long blank fields. When you copy and paste it then just comes up blank with the whole field minus the word...WTF??
Other then those few things it's a great browser and I use it full time for work and play.
Ive got a portable version if anyone is interested and doesnt want to actually install it.
Send me a pm if you fancy it
I.M.O not enough to it yet, security wise i can beef up Firefox, don't like Google policies & i need a browser that works efectively on UMPC so Firefox 3 it is...
One of co workers installed chrome on my computer at work so I gave it a try. I started using it more and more since it starts up in half the time IE, or Firefox does. Since then I've been using it ever since. I don't need the fancy plug-ins from firefox and IE just plain sucks. Easy choice IMO.
Also its no longer in beta.
I would recommend switching to "SRWare Iron" as it is Chrome without all the Spyware Crap that Google put into the Browser (Unique ID, constantly running updater and stuff like that).
It is based on Chromium, which is the base for Google Chrome.
It even looks and handles the same as Chrome & Chromium...
I used Chrome since the beta because I preferred the look of it.
Thanks to this thread - I'm now using SRWare Iron which I'll keep an eye on too..
Cheers.

Oh, thankyou, so now i am not wrong if google chrome ever have a beta version,. lol
After I using Iron for a week I switched back to chrome. Spellcheck doesn't work, and its slower to load pages. The privacy issue isn't a problem because there are programs which remove your unique ID and you can simply disable sending google your browsing information in the options menu. The only thing that Iron has going for it over Chrome is a better looking icon.
Chrome Rocks!
I to have been using google chrome since the earlly beta.
to clear things up, There are two version available. Stable releases and a "developer" version (which is like a beta version.)
Personally i love the broswer for its speed but like already mentioned, it doesn't like all websites. I can't stand IE so i keep firefox around incase i have problems. Things are getting beter all the time for chrome though (for example it used to be almost useless for facebook and now its basically fully compatible) I'm proud to say its my default browser
This became a POLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
See the top if you know any other tell me! to include it!
Ok, voted already,.
What da...????
Who includes the Internet explorer 8 beta that dont includes the link to the download?
Come on guys... share it share it share it....!

Web Browser

Just out of curiosity, what web browser do you guys use on your computers?
On both my Linux and Windows machines, I use Google Chrome as my default, and Firefox rarely when Chrome cannot load something.
I´m sure I have seen another thread with this topic, but couldn´t find it...
Opera 10.50 is the best and fastest browser!
I did a search, and the only recent one I found was what web browser do you use on your phone.
Chrome!!! The best. Very fast and stable
Opera by far. And very much looking forward to the 10.5 alpha tomorrow, windows 7 integration and finally box-shadow, border-radius, and multiple backgrounds. And full support, which is more than any other browser can claim with their hacky vendor-prefix preview support.

Yeah me too!!!
Opera!!!!!!!
cause:
IE- sometimes bugy
Chrome - I tried it and didnt like it
Firefox - everyone uses it, and I hate to be like everyone!!!!
Safari - umm... its apple...
Firefox works very well for me
Firefox for me.
Firefox. Alone its as good as the next door browser. what makes it better then the rest is the sheer number of add-ons!!
recently switched from chrome to safari
and in spite of being apple thing i love it
Chrome. I might switch to Opera. Use to use it a couple of years ago an loved it. Got a new computer, and never installed it.
Firefox 4 Ever!!
i'm on 3.6 Beta 5 and 3.7 beta
So far, I'm not really surprised by the results. I did use Firefox as my default for many, many years. My good, non-obsolete laptop's motherboard fried not too long ago, and I'm stuck with some not-so-hot machines, and Chrome seems to run faster and smoother on both of them. IE is a bloodsucker. Try opening that on a lower end machine, and you will be waiting all day.
I used IE for many years before moving to Firefox, and I haven't regretted it at all. Opera's cool, but it doesn't have nearly the amount of extensions like Firefox. But when I'm tethering and need to conserve bandwidth, Opera (with turbo compression enabled) and Elinks (which is text based) are my two choices.
The once and future king: Test build of Opera crushes Chrome on Windows 7
Opera 10.50 pre-alpha, the fastest browser!
I wonder how faster will be when they launch the definitive version

From Betanews the results arrive from an intensive test with the last navigators, and anybody the results would have to surprise him after the pump that Norwegian boys dropped to us yesterday. Having as it bases of the index to IE7 (1.0) like the slowest navigator, we have to Opera 10.50 like outstanding winner (24.52), followed of Chrome (22.32), Safari/Webkit (20.83), Firefox (13.29) and finally IE8 (1.55). As you see Operates has advanced by the right to all the navigators, Chrome and Safari follow to him close by, Firefox remains in the middle of way and IE8 advances but it continues playing in another league. And all this considering that the motor is incomplete and that certain elements have not been purified (like the tables).
In order to realise these tests has chosen ten batteries of tests of different authors, to measure the compatibility and rapidity of the navigator in CSS, Javascript, tables, canvas, elements 3D, etc. Some tests as the V8 de Chrome or the Dromadeo de Mozilla has not considered because they are not proportional. In addition, these navigators have executed themselves on Windows 7, system for which supposedly all of them are optimized. What seems to you, agree these results with your perception?

chrome here! but im looking for firefox soon!
Google chrome all the way
I chose Google Chrome because it is the best for me.
Internet Explorer-Takes too long to start up and takes even longer to go to a webpage. It crashes a lot and I just hate it.
Firefox-Good but takes too long to start up and little too long to get to a web site. I like the add-ons you can put on.
Opera- Never Tried It.
Google Chrome is fast to start up and fast to get to a webpage. It is starting to get some add-ons like Firefox and since Google is developing it you know that it is going to be good. I only use Firefox if Google Chrome cannot load something for some strange reason.

Which Web Browser??

I'm going to go with Chrome. I havve been using it exclusively for over a year now.
Fast, simple, clean, and easy. Also is light on resources and lets me do a lot of things in tthe background along with a ton of windows open.
Chrome has some problems with java sometimes so I switched to FireFox.
-FireFox has a slow start up n loading pages...
-Chrome had a fast start up and fast page loading but sometimes pages won't load so I had to press refresh.
-Opera had problems to when loading some java pages..

[App] SciLor's GrooveMobile Alpha 1

SciLor's GrooveMobile Alpha 1 (2011-05-29)
I am currently working on a version of my GrooveMobile for WP7.1, supporting background listening.
Due to I have no phone for testing, is there anyone who likes to test the current state of the application? You will need an "open" phone, because this app may only find its way to the market if it is nearly bugfree.

Just interested in, how stable it is, especially how fluid the stream is.
It will cache all songs you have played in the Apps Internal Storage.

i guess its programmed with sdk 7.1 which are the mango beta tools
so actually its for wp7.5
keep up the good work.
but keep in mind, i think musicshark got deleted of marketplace because it didnt had a licence to access the grooveshark libary
the xap was available for quite some time but now it not workin anymore
One thing I noticed when playing around with this in the mango emulator: if you start a song and go back to home (so background music is playing), selecting the program again opens a new instance and the old instance keeps playing the music
Now that Mango's out for devs, we'll be able to test your app
Will try to install it as soon as get Mango
It doesn't seems to work with the last WP7.1 tools.
Doesn't work on my Omnia with Mango. When I tap a song it crasheds
And on the emulator of the beta 2 SDK, keeps loading then crashes :/
I think its due to I have built it with the Beta 1 SDK. I will rebuild it with the Beta 2 SDK soon.

Can't wait for further development as I used your old app. Seems to crash upon trying to play a song. Sign in and such will be nice! Thanks a lot!
Similar experience on my mango phone, crashes when selecting a song. Looking forward to this app!
I asked access to the API on their website. But they said no because they are working on a WP7 app. Can I use their API by other way ?
