late response
i've tried but most of the time the volume goes down then the machine restarts. using quick memo works better. my 2c. be well all

i can confirm holding power button + vol down still works on V20A SEA.
and i don't get the aspect ratio bug in QuickMemo since i'm using software buttons

Ive gotta ask if theres a way to make vol up + vol down screenshot Cus mine brings out quick memo

use other software if u cant do it with vol- +power. there are apps for android that can do it and also apps for windows that can do it. for windows for example its mobilego one of these apps.

screenshot made easy

Fascinate capacitive touch buttons timeout

Is there a way to increase the timeout on the capacitive touch buttons on the fascinate? It would be great if the buttons would stay on when the screen is on.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Its in system/lib/hw. There's a file called lights and I believe that's our answer, just haven't had time to play with it.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
I'm really hoping we can get this fixed.. leave it up to the dev community to fix what a big company messes up. hahaha!
I think I can speak for almost anyone who owns a Fascinate when I say that we all want this.

so i figured something out....hahaha... atleast on my phone.
set your screen timeout to 1 minute, and make sure your lockscreen is enabled...
now turn the screen off, and then turn it back on. press the home key twice, then unlock the phone....
your capacitive touch key will now stay lit.... until you use them.....
hahahahaha..... works for my phone.

lmao that worked on mine and I'm on puzzle but like he said once you use the key the timeout resets and just go right back off funny bug but not a fix sadly
Sent from my Clockwork Fascinate using XDA App
I have been trying to figure this out for a while now. On the epic you can edit an xml in settings.apk, which extends the keyboard backlight timeout and the capacitive touch buttons. I tried this on the fascinate but no go.
This is a known issue with this device, I believe samsung will be addressing it with the 2.2 update
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
So I've put up an app to address this on the market.
KeepTheLightsOn will keep the LEDs illuminated while the screen is on. Just leaving the LEDs on, rather than using CPU to figure out when to turn them off actually saves battery.

Show Us Your 2X Screenshots!

Lucky for us, the 2X has the built in method for screen capturing, of holding down the power and home buttons.
This makes taking screenshots very easy!
So let's see them!

Can't do that. Have to do a battery-pull first
Perhaps it would be better to just use the existing screenshots thread...

Minimalistic Text for the time
Beautiful Widgets for the Toggles
OneSeven for the day
Simple Calender for the calendar
The dock is a custom one I found
Fonts are custom images I found

Someone?
Take a screen shot (by quick memo) and go to gallery then see it ,, if you can see that pixel in the picture , then the problem is with system or kernel .

[Q] SOLVED Does anyone know what this is?

I have had a brief hands on with the Sony Xperia Z1 yesterday in the Sony Center. I have to say that I loved the phone. I did find something curious though under the sim flap. There is a red button which says "OFF" is that to double as the SIM deactivator (another airplane mode type thing). I asked in store and the employees had no idea what it is used for.
P.S Sorry for the crap picture quality

Thanks mate. I guess if you found the same in ZL it is probably the same here. Xperia Z does not have that so I eas confused as to the purpose to this. I still am a little bit tbh. VOL UP +POWER work just fine so what is the need for the extra electronics. Thanks

Yep It's a physical button to hard reset the handset in case it freezes!
I've just tested it and it is a physical power button like people have already said, I held it down for 3 seconds and the phone just turned off, pretty handy if you ask me.
Very odd, that look like the corrosion detector like there are on the Z, that become red/pink if that take water, but yeah it's a physical button like the Z Ultra.

can't clear cache partition? (lollipop)

Cureently have 2 moto x's in front of me. One is upgraded to lollipop. I cant clear the cache partition on it. Get to recovery, hold down the vol down and press the power button. Nothing. On the other on kit kat, it brings up tge recovery menu...
Any suggestions?
There is a new way to get into the recovery. It is as follows.
When your at the injured android the old way was to hold volume up for a few seconds then power tap. It is opposite now.
Hold power for a few seconds then tap the volume up.

Yes I to was having the issue and discovered that it had changed. Would be nice if Motorola would reflect it on their support site.
Glad it helped you.
