[India]Does Samsung Provide Replacement ?? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Please have patience guys its long story and i need ur suggestions :crying:
About My Phone Problem:
3months back When i had GB on my note phone used to reboot or freezes then lock screen comes
and signal becomes zero this would happen more then 15times with in 10mins and phone would
become hot so i used to switch off it for a while..later it would b stable..
i was not knowing the reason i thought its my sd card..i tried few days
without sd card but same thing used to happen..whenever this happens battery drains ...
Then ICS update came and same problem continued. :crying:
After ICS i faced one problem with screen..DOnt know how to explain but it was like
screen crashed for 2 secs (something similar disturbance when ur mobile is near crt monitor) after 2secs it would be normal..this happened 4 times
i erased all the data and did factory reset and didn't install any apps for few days
then one day i tried to transfer .APK file from my another android phone.
After receiving the file same problem started...i tried to send other files same thing happened .
I felt its Bluetooth which is causing this..This time i switched of Bluetooth and problem stopped..
.i made a video sorry for the quality its only 2mp camera
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ya0gIQX1mjY&feature=youtu.be
Samsung Customer Care:
They asked me whether i updated my Note through KIES i said then they said that may be bluetooth files have not installed properly
and suggested me that for updates i should go to Samsung service center...(Then whats the use of KIES???)
Service Center:
I went to service center told them about my problem they checked my version and said sir ur ics is not installed properly and ur software is old..They said they will update it..
After updating i checked it but still same problem when ever i try to on bluetooth and send a file...
He said PBA(Motherboard) should be replaced sir..so i asked him whether its a defective phone.
.he was like i cant tell u sir because its 6months old phone(he had already
checked the phone for water damage etc it was all clear and i never dropped my phone till now ..
i had only i scratch on my s pen and on screen i had screen guard)
so they told me to wait for 1week as part is not available with them...
while submitting my handset i told them not to put any scratches or any dents on phone(i had bad experiences with my Nokia N8 ) and i want to see my old motherboard (as i was not sure whether they will replace it or not)
After 1 week Service Center:
Yesterday they called me and told me that phone is ready sir..
when i got my phone battery was low ie below 15% and i tried Bluetooth for a while and problem was solved
but when i saw back cover it had 2 big scratches and camera glass has scratches(they agreed to replace back door and back glass of camera) and they didnt even show me old motherboard..
so i was arguing with them.they replied that we have changed PBA trust us..u can check the job sheet number with customer care and they will provide the details..and suddenly my phone rebooted..
After 5mins tried Bluetooth option for a while and same problem. But this when even this happened i used to get connect ur charger..
So he told me that its only notification sir...since ur phone has less charge its not rebooting but gives notification by coming to lock screen (does this happen with all notes?)
i told him to charge my phone for a while
After 20mins @ Service center:
Battery level was 21% so we tried transferring a file ..Bingo it happened again..
then technician told me that its not motherboard sir may be Antenna problem ..wil contact u after 2days sir..so i asked him u guys didnt even check what was the problem and u changed PBA and now ur telling me that its Antenna problem???
Sir give us 2days time will let u know the cause..
i told them to replace my phone..so he replied that Samsung only replaces the parts
Samsung Customer Care:
i informed them and they suggested me to talk to Area Executive Manager
Area Executive Manager
After listening to my story(he was polite ) he told me that PBA is heart of the phone so even after replacing ur problem didnt solve so i guess we should provide u replacement but according to our policy we only replace parts but i wil try my level best to replace..mean while i will send technician to check ur phone and then wil let u know in 2days
So guys what should i do??
Should i accept the phone with replaced parts or should i request them to replace my phone with new one??
P.S Never Rooted or installed Custom rom

that really sucks. I hope they give you a replacement phone asap.

You are already in contact with the officials of samsung, what do you expect from xda members, suggest otherwise?
Just be patient. Read what your warranty reads. Usually they will try to repair whatever needs to be repaired then only replace the whole unit if they cannot solve it.

From what I understand customer service in general in India is terrible with delays, scratched phones etc. Hope it gets resolved!

note 3 neo issue
i had purchased the phone from authorized samsung showroom a month back. the first day itself the phone hanged when i entered the camera app. i thought it would be a minor bug and would get solved and then when i used to put my phone on charge it used to turn off not always but many times. i went to the service centre yesterday and they said we will update the software and give you that should solve the problem. i had doubts though and got the phone back after they did it and the phone got witched off again on charge. went again today and they dint even know what the problem was and said i needed to leave my phone with them for 3 days. stil not sure whether they would solve the issue or not. one thing he said confidently was that they wont replace the phone. i got very pissed. waiting for the improvement

mr kailash
Sur is ur problem solved. I need to no bcoz i have same tis problem

[Q] Do you think random shutdowns can be fixed

I am going to att store to ask them to fix my phone. It shuts down with any rom i used. I am back with stock now(unrooted) to be qualified for warranty. I master cleared it and flash back to stock two days ago, after around 28 hours, it shut down again. I cant live with my phone like this any more. I was later for class twice because of this phone died at mid night and didnt woke up until I turned it on.
DO YOU THINK ATT CAN FIX IT OR CAN I GET A REPLACEMENT. I LIKE THIS PHONE WHEN IT IS FULLY FUNCTIONED.
btw, MY GPS WORKS AFTER A MASTER CLEAR.
Thank you guys

Question asked many times before. Please do a search before posting questions like this.
Anyways, here's ur answer.
1. Are u still in warranty? Since Captivate was released less than a year ago, chances are that u r.
2. Restore stock
3. Format internal SD
4. Take to AT&T service center (store, if u r within 30 days) and tell them it shuts down randomly
They will replace ur piece based on how the piece is and after verifying if u r a legitimate customer and that the piece has been bought from them, n not from some person/site offline (by verifying IMEI).

I got a replacement today.
I went to att store and they sent to att device support center and this phone apparently is a frequent visitor of device support center, so they replaced it without hesitation.
all those methods you listed are biascs I tried already. But thanks anyway.
I was just trying keep my old one since its gps happened to be working after 4 months of strike. And the new piece i got also has a working gps, so I am good now.
One a little thing worth mentioning here. When i told the rep at att store this phone shuts down, she asked me if i am happy with this phone. Of course I am not, but besides the gps and shutdown I really like the rest of this phone, so I said yes eventually. Do you think it might be possible if I said no and they will try to give me a phone like htc inspire 4g to just make their customer happy?

[Q] need help...

hi,
bought a note yesterday... dint remove the sticker on the screen till now as i dint find time to play with it...
i started with rooting process... i ran the doomlord v3 zergrush... while the process started i removed the sticker only to find out that there was a dead pixel on the screen so i removed the usb cable while it was rooting nervously.... actually only two steps started : the command prmopt said something has to be mounted(most probable the inbuilt memory -16gb-as my phone file manager is not able to the read memory now)...
so if i take it to samsung mobile service centre for this dead pixel issue will they notice the root(most probably improperly installed once-- info-- i dint find any superuser file in my mobile)??? and i can take it to the service centre only after 2 days as im a bit busy so will they replace the mobile due to this dead pixel???
looking forward to some answers.. please help me...
update : file manager is working fine....
one more thing... if i take it to service centre after 4-5 days of purchase.. will i be eligible for replacement of handset or they,ll repair it??? as the service centre here will take a long time to repair stuff....
Anybody??????? some help plz....

[Q] Phone starts and sounds but screen remains black, with backlight on!!

Hello all,
My Xperia was in a serious bootloop that I couldn't fix, not with pc companion not with flashtool flashing stock roms. So I gave up and sent it to the closest Sony Mobile certified repair store, it took them one month to tell me they couldn't fix it, they said they opened it, changed the battery and it still had the same problem so they also gave up and gave it to me, they did say the problem could be the motherboard. I'm now living in Brazil and getting a motherboard for the c6602 is impossible first of all because the phone was never commercialized here (and importing is impossible, it'd take 2.5 months and they'd charge me 200% of the part price, unfortunately that's how Brazil works ). Something interesting that happened is that when I got my phone back they had solved the bootloop issue but they created another issue, the phone starts makes all the sounds the screen turns on BUT all you can see in the screen is the black color, so the backlight is on but nothing shows up.
Could I be able to fix this via software? or the only option is changing the motherboard (or maybe fixing something on it)?
If any of you knows how to fix this I'd appreciate an answer.

Because I sent it to sony and they said the problem was the motherboard and the problems the phone's been giving are pretty random, for example at the beginning the problem was that it had random reboot each one with more frequency, it when from that to just work with the ac adapter connected, it went from that to a bootloop of just showing the sony logo and restarting, after I got it from sony the problem is that it boots app (without needing to be connected) it makes all the sounds like it was working perfectly but the screen is ON but black. So because all this I'm convinced it's the motherboard.
I see changing the battery didn't fix your problem.
I think it's so sad that this phone with just more than a year of life are getting this serious problems and sony isn't doing **** to help us. They keps my phone 1 month just to tell me that it couldn't get fixed, they said they changed the battery and all but still the same problem. I've reached a point when I just don't trust sony anymore, I'm getting a galaxy s4 on monday but still I wanna fix this crappy-phone.
Well, in my case it happened out of nowhere, I wasn't doing anything special with the phone..., I'm thinking maybe restoring the TA partition would fix something? I don't know... I found the motherboard for 80 euros in aliexpress

Z3C temporary dead?

So I got my Z3C about a month now. 6 weeks ago I thoughed my phone broke, suddenly it was dead. It looked like it was bricked, but I didn't do anything with it. There was no charging light, no fibrating on a hard reset, nothing. There was not even a connection with the adb.
So I send it to a repair point and they fixed it for me. I had no idea what that do, but I was happy with it.
Yesterday it happend again and I was pretty angry. A 3 month phone broke twice! I contacted the store, because I want a new one and not another repair, because i have no faith in another repair.
Now here comes the thing. Today I tried my phone again and suddenly it was working again.
You might think I should be happy, but I'm absolulty not, because now it is hard to prove there is something wrong with my device.
I suspect the repairpoint didn't fix anything, because it was working again at that point. So they just did a factoryreset
Has anyone experienced something like this or has any clue what the problem is?
Thanking in advance.

first of all you should make it clear If it s software problem (which level of software) or hardware
to get this u can Repair Xperia firmware by PCC to install fresh firmware
after that if problem remains u can be sure that problem is in hardware and ask for replace
in repair center they may just install new rom and return it so just ask for replacement
:good:
I k now this post is a little old but I have the same problem. After 6 weeks of flawless use my Z3C suddenly died. Nothing would bring it back to life. I spent several hours on the phone to sony support to no avail. We tried numerous manual and computer related fixes to no avail (including flashing a new stock rom which didn't work because no phone could be detected). Finally the tech gave up and said to return to return it to where I bought it. I was in the process of doing that when suddenly the phone worked again when I pressed the power button. battery charge was showing as 74%. Unfortunately I didn't do a factory reset while I had the chance.
This afternoon I didn't use the phone for 3 hours and now it's dead again. Nothing will wake it up again.
To me it sounds like a hardware fault, not software. This is a near new phone. This shouldn't be happening. I've searched the net and found numerous others having the same problem and in every case it has resulted in a replacement phone. Unfortunately my phone seller is a long way away. I guess that will teach me to buy local and pay and bit more.
Any suggestions please as I'm desperate.
I'm also in the same boat where my g/f Xperia Z3C just died and unfortunately the phone is out of warranty as it was a grey import and not local Aussie stock.
I have tried everything to get it working. When it does switch on it doesn't last more than a few hours before it goes back to a permanent coma.
I've wiped the rom and started from scratch when it was working with the Sony Xperia Repair centre but with little success.
I was left with little choice but to take it to a repair centre to find any faults with the hardware but I'm not feeling that confident they can fix the phone without replacing the whole board which isn't worth it.
Same thing.
Hello,
Today my phone shut downs itself and i realized it after 2-3 hours. Can't force reboot with volume up + power or the yellow button near the sim slot. Also no leds working to confirm if it takes electricity or not.My phones screen changed about a month ago due to having volume changes in 3.5 mm jack while listening music.Funny thing is i gave my phone for that same reason 8 months ago and they did not changed the screen and when i asked why you changed the screen, the lady said because 3.5mm jack is together with the screen(which i do not believe).I am hoping for device to wake up like jesus...
Edit: Does android have a log that reports every incident like windows does?If so how can i access it to see why my phone decided to die and ressurected by itself?I can't get this device to technical service cause it is fine now but i want to make sure it does not happen again.

Pixel 4xl stuck on 50% . Switches off randomly and has a battery symbol with a (?).

Hi All.
Battery stuck on 50% won't change even when charge or discharge. Today it randomly shutdown in my pocket. and then had a battery symbol with a ?. The phone eventually turned on, I've tried turning off location, rebooting still having issues. Sometimes the battery saving mode stops working, i.e. it cannot be turned on. As I can see the problem concerns a large group of users and nobody knows what this problem is related to. Google is silent as usual. Is this a problem with the software or components ?! I am in a bad situation because I have no warranty for the device and I do not know where to send the phone in Poland because no one knows what is the cause of the problem. Help me please.

Had this.
This is going to sound dumb:
Shut your phone off.
Now squeeze the phone around the G logo on the back (like you're trying to compress it).
Now turn it back on and charge normally.
This is potentially only a temporary fix as I have no idea how this would be software related.
If you can enter bootloader mode, you still have chance to save your phone by yourself :
(1)Make sure there is fastboot&ADB tool in your computer
If you don't have it, please download from here(https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools). To click the one depends on which one of OS you have and then install in your computer
(2)Download google factory image file from here(https://developers.google.com/android/images). To choose the model of your phone and download it then extract file.
(3)Reboot your phone to bootloader mode. Then use USB cable and make phone connected to your computer USB port. Then execute the window commend mode. key in
fastboot devices ===> make sure your phone being catched by your computer
flash-all ===> To build up a whole new pixel OS in your phone.
Good luck !

Ive had my pixel 4 xl since november and it just started automatically shutting off when in my pocket all by it self a few weeks ago , took cell phone to my sevice provider and they sent it in for repair ...received a new phone ...well refurbished p4 xl only to have if start happening again days later and have the 50% battery start happening also ....contacted google and they are in the process of sending me a new refurbished p4 xl , so this will be my 3 rd p4 xl ..lol
very frustrating to say the least ....ive had to hard reboot my phone at least 20 times a day or basically keep it out of any pockets , the is common issue apparently with pixels phones from what i've read in the link https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/22397169?hl=en
I've talked with loyalty department at my service provider and if it happens again with the pixel that google sends me , then they will allow me to void my contract and supply me with a new device from a different brand ...ie Samsung or apple or whatever else is available on the market right now on there website.
i'll be really bummed if i have to switch to a samsung or apple buuuuuut need a stable device ...lol
So to anyone having this issue that still has a basic warranty, there are at least 2 options ...rma device over and over till you get one that doesn't have this problem or contact service provider and explain your situation and most likely they will be understanding to the fact that you have purchased a 1200.00 phone that requires constant rma's and hopefully allow you to exchange for a different brand of phone that doesn't have this these problems

I fully understand you. I am in a worse position. As a loyal Google fan, I bought my pixel from someone who didn't have a proof of purchase. In Poland it was difficult to get it, and as it was 1.5 times more expensive than everywhere else. It seems that I can throw out the pixel and buy another phone for a lot of money. I am most annoyed by the company's attitude. It looks like they are xxxxx on us.

This is the "No Warranty Solution" : Flash a full factory image and allow it to completely wipe your phone. This is the second step Google support would give you (the first is doing a factory data reset from Recovery). If after flashing your phone, restoring it to the original "out of the box" state, you still have a battery issue, then the next step is to replace your battery. If you forgot to state in your OP that your bootloader is still locked (so you can't flash the image) then you need to do that first. Bottom line is you need to factory reset the phone to rule out a software issue. If the restored phone still has the same problem, then you need to focus on the hardware. Best of luck. :good:

Same happened to me with 4 XL 64.
I've been able to "fix" with the turn off and squeeze but the problem has turned into the battery discharge displayed gets stuck at a percentage and it won't charge. I have to turn off & squeeze to get it back.
Finally called Google and they are making me send my phone in for repair. Now I assume for turnaround sake, they'll just send me a new refurb back. That also means I'm not confident the problem will be resolved as there are over 150 replies on the Google Support page identifying this problem.
https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/25796722
Looks like some folks are getting a replacement before sending the problem phone back but others are required to send it in or drop off at repair facility.
Good for me? I have Preferred Care and I'll keep sending them back until I get one that works.
Bad for me? I'll have to keep sending them back + I splurged on the orange color so I doubt I'll ever see that again.
I've actually dealt with this. This is a hardware issue. I had the same problem. Covered by warranty, I took it to ubreakitifix after contacting Google and they took care of me. Trust me this isn't a issue where you can flash this or squeeze that. This is a hardware issue on Google's part. There's nothing you can do as a phone user about a defective battery in a 6+ month old $1000 phone

You might be able to convince them to send you a device before you ship it off, citing the current global situation and a need for a cell phone
OP lives in Poland and has no receipts or warranty. Poland is not a supported country so he is looking for "non-warranty" solutions.

The return process was pretty great. I shipped my existing phone off on a Monday (Illinois to Texas) and by the following Monday, I received my exact phone back (has a screen protector on it). I was very satisfied with that. HOWEVER, the "repair" still has an issue where if I charge to 100%, the icon stays at 100% until I reboot and then it'll display the correct battery %.
The repair documentation was a bit vague and said they replaced the "charging port". I still believe there's a unannounced hardware issue. Can anyone say, class action????
---------- Post added at 04:16 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:49 AM ----------
I wonder what the next step would be if I started another repair claim?
Holding the power button down for more than 3 consecutive seemed to solve a similar issue for me. My P4 was holding certain percentages for too long (even though the phone actually lost more).

This post seems to have been ignored. If it happens to me, I'll try that. But my carrier purchase didn't qualify for Google extended care add-on. Standard warranty only. Does that make a difference in what Google would do in this case?
I use Accubattery and monitor charge cycles for "battery wear". Even following "Battery College" recommendations, battery health has dropped from 99 to 95%; I've had the P4XL since November. I'm now slowing the charge, getting away from power delivery to see if that helps slow the wear. SOT varies greatly per charge.
I use a belt pouch for carrying phone while away from home. Rarely, I put it in my pocket but do so at home- front pocket only- never back pocket. May just be bad phone batteries from what I've read.

OP lives in Poland and has no receipts or warranty. Poland is not a supported country so he is looking for "non-warranty" solutions.

For 5 weeks my Pixel has been in the authorized repair center in Germany. They don't have parts to fix it. They told me that. It is not known how long this may take. I haven't had such a circus with a good smartphone. I love Google products, but I feel very disappointed because Pixel cost me a lot of money and this is definitely a factory defect.

Sorry to hear this, and surprising, as Germany is a supported country with many authorized repair centers. Did you send it to PSC? They claim to be Google-certified and have all factory parts? COVID-19 may also be delaying things. Hope things turn out well for you. :good:
