can i print emails? - Nexus 7 General

Hi
Just set up my work pop email all OK but can't find a print button to send to wireless printer!?!?!
Am I missing something or is this not something I can do?

I use an app called PrinterShare that does a nice job.

You'll wanna use something like "print share" app. I fill out real estate contracts on my tablet sometimes and it let's me print not only to any printer on the current WiFi network but also to any printer that has the client software running on it. Well worth the few bucks IMO.

Epson and Brother (maybe others) have free apps if you have one of those brands.

Does anyone know if I could send email to a pdf printer (to generate a pdf file). I want this as I can use pdf annotator to make additional notes to my emails.

This is probably the ONLY thing I've NEVER done with an Android tablet [yet].
My SIII has support for Printing, but it's unclear if Samsung did something or pre-installed some app to enable this... It would be nice if the OS just did this natively, I'm surprised you have to install an app, but that sounds simple enough... Damn, maybe I should be making printer apps instead of security apps, eh?

Google Docs

Any word on a Google docs app? Trying to take notes on the browser version was not ideal last night. I don't know why Google hasn't invested more into Google docs on android...
Just wondering if there was any news on development of this app for honeycomb.

You can try GDocs app, it allows you create, edit, view, import, export and send documents as well sync documents with your Google Docs account.
I'd imagine that Google will give us a Docs tablet version, like the gmail app...but when? Who knows.
Until something solid comes, the Docs Mobile website is working for me, but it ain't pretty.

I purchased Documents To Go and PrintShare Pro. Now I can edit, create and share my Google Docs AND Print them from work or home. I just wish there was a way for DTG to put printing as an option. It would have saved me some $$$.
Documents to go works well on xoom? Or should I wait for quick office?

It works great for me too!
DocumentsToGo works great for word docs, but spreadsheets don't work. The spreadsheet will pull up, but as soon as you enter text into a cell it will randomly copy that text to other cells in the spreadsheet. Additionally, if you attempt to open a spreadsheet you'll see that the data from a group of cells is randomly copied to other cells. Spreadsheets in DocumentsToGo on honeycomb are essentially useless.
I paid for Docs to Go, and quite frankly, I hate it. Google Docs (desktop version) is awesome, and strangely works horribly on our browsers. Google really needs to put more of an effort into getting all their services available and ready when they release a "Google Experience Device" of this caliber, especially one people will buy with the intent of being able to do some real mobile office/school work. I am really hoping they have a Gmail-like Google Docs app in the works for their new Honeycomb users...

Can you provide an example spreadsheet? Better yet send one to the d2g developer. I have not dealt with any complicated spreadsheets but sure have not seen anything like what you describe.

VNC (Server) for Bionic??

Are there any client (pc)/server (phone) apps that work for VNC on this phone? I keep getting a crooked screen and would LOVE to fix this
Tony
Team viewer works nicely and has mac, pc, and android versions. Just make sure you set the forced password or you have to ask client every time to read it to you. There are free and paid versions I use the paid in the office because it works so well cross platform (both free and paid) oh also set as startup item on the client or you will have to make the client launch it.

I don't think you understood what I said.
I want the phone to be the server and the desktop to be the client.
In other words, I want to take my phone over from VNC. All the clients that I have tried so far end up with a 70-80 degree crooked screen when I view my phone from my laptop.
Ahhh, I see my bad man I stared at it for a second too. well I have no real suggestions then sorry I looked on the market and did a quick google search but I found only 2 which im sure you already tried. One has lost all dev support and reported to not work on ATRIX so not much hope there and a beta on the market im sure you have seen. Sorry man.

Anyone know of a good Notes app?

I really like keeping notes on my phone but there's no Notes app in the AT&T ROM. I tried pulling the one from RumRaider but it FC's on opening so I'm guessing it's missing dependencies/framework or something. Is there a notes app that will work with Sense 3?
Thanks!
I too have been searching for a good notes app, but haven't found one yet.
I use aknotepad from the market. Unless you're talking about something different.
Evernote is really good, free, and syncs to their server (a must if you flash a lot).

"Only" 5 million + downloads from the Android Market. I use it to sync between my work and home PCs and my Vivid. I figure it's as easy to enter a text note in Evernote as it is in any other stand-alone text editor or notes app.
AK Notepad was a great suggestion. Pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Although I might have to check out Evernote.
I tried several, and Evernote beats em all hands down, IMO.
I'm surprised nobody mentioned Gtasks.
I use Gtasks for the convenience and simplicity of use. You simply download it and it syncs immediately to your google account. You can enter notes from your phone or pc (from your gmail calendar) and even while reading articles or websites on your phone, you can share the webpage or article directly to gtasks, so it sends a link to the app. You can further use it as a task management tool by setting reminders and alarms for each note item.

evernote has similar functions. Plus there is a really good chrome extension so you can clip text or send a page directly to your evernote account.. I use this all the time for recipes and stuff. Also it looks like HTC built a native note app that will sync with evernote now and it works great!
I use gtasks for a long time, I might give evernote a try

I am running stock AT&T .56 ROM & I have the built-in HTC notes app that syncs with Evernote.
I use colornote. its quite convenient to me.
U can find it on Google Play!
As an MS Outlook user, I like MyPhoneExplorer for syncing contacts, notes, calendars and tasks. The developer is actively engaged, and responds quite quickly to support issues.

[Q] Wifi-only app that lets S1 and BB communicate?

I have a rooted/rommed wifi-only S1 and my GF has a Blackberry 9780. She is currently overseas for X amount of time and the only way we can talk is by calling each other which is extremely expensive, or using skype which means she has to borrow a friend's laptop or android device. She has service on her phone over there, unsure of what type of plan.
I came up with the idea of using my old BB 8330 and figuring out how to use BBM or something similar on wifi-only, but it turns out that 'ol phone doesn't have wifi on it. It's too bad I sold my last BB some time ago which was an 8530 and had wifi. Oh well.
Anyways, I'm now wondering if there's an app I can use on my S1 that she can also use on her 9780 that would allow us to text and or talk. Something like BBM that doesn't require me to have service or a data plan. I imagine there's at least one app out there that would do this and also be available to BB users.
Thanks.

I read somewhere that it uses your phone number but can't seem to confirm that.
I'm pretty sure we can use KIK but it's text only. I may be getting greedy with wanting text and talk, but having both would be awesome.
Does her phone have a browser? If so, you could use any site like ebuddy to talk. Or even get on something like palringo (dunno if there's a bb version?) but there must be something alike.

She has service and we *think* her data is unlimited. She also has a wireless router at her flat so wifi helps if the data is limited/costly.
We're trying to use apps over our current methods or using something browser based mainly for convenience. Something like whatsapp or KIK would work perfectly from what I understand, but they're text-only. Not a huge problem, but if I can find text+voice that would be great. Skype is normally the answer to that question but her phone, or more specifically her service provider, isn't compatible with skype from what I'm seeing.

I went with Kik for now. It's actually a pretty cool messenger app. Clean and fast.
I haven't yet found anything that covers both messages and voice in app form other than skype which I confirmed is not compatible with her model of phone.

Preferring to stay away from browser since apps are far more convenient and because browsers always run very sluggish on my cappy for some reason.

But if you wanna try it, there's a bare naked browser (ugly but fasssst) on here. Called naked browser I believe.

Looks like the exact app I need and it's compatible with blackberry. Will give it a try. Thanks!
ETA: Looks like Blackberry devices can not use the VoIP feature yet but they say it will be available eventually.
Turns out you need a number for viber and my device is wifi-only. After some research I found that you can use any phone number that can receive SMS because it's for them to send you a registration PIN. I tried both my GV and Heywire numbers and haven't received that text on either one. :\

Alreader and sync

I am using a truly excellent ebook reader (free on the appstore) called Alreader.
The best of the bunch IMHO.
Just one thing I cannot get to work is the option to sync book position across devices (i have Alreader on my nook touch as well as nookhd).
If anyone can work out how to do it please let us know. The manual is currently in Russian only.

Just a guess that you need to sign-in with the app so that it can sync across devices. If its the companies own account or google account I don't know, but sign-in should be from the app on both devices.
Or in other words the information has to be stored in the cloud somewhere. Device A syncs to the cloud after a change is recorded and device B hears the change so syncs with the cloud to get that change.
