Placed a replacement order for my Nexus 7 today, when can I expect it? - Nexus 7 General

I placed my replacement order for my 16GB Nexus 7 today because it had the left screen lifting issue. When do you guys think we can expect our replacement? Especially for the 16GB version as they've even stopped letting people order on the Play Store. I'm in the US if it makes any difference.

I just called up. 2-3 days after request was placed you'll get an email you need to respond to. Then the device will ship with 2 day shipping. I was unable to talk my way into overnight. Hope this helps.

Is the email you are referring to the one where they have a link that directs you to your cart that has a Nexus 7 in it because I received that email today. So does this mean I'll get mine by the end of the week? Sweet.

One of the reps told some random person here that exchanges will ship quickly and take priority over orders. Annoying if you ask me but take it with a grain of salt.

I don't know why everyone is waiting for there 16gb n7. I got one last week at staples and another for my buddy this week. I still got my Google play credit and my free content and the free Google wallet money. Go to staples.

+1 for staples, got mine yesterday at one in Goleta, CA. They were out of the 16gb (which is fine because I wanted the 8 anyway), but it surprised me that they even had them at all when the best buy across the street from them was telling me it would be a few weeks before they got any in stock.

Staples last week- 16 gb. North Jersey. When it says not sold in this store on the internet, keep checking. That just means they are out of stock. It will change to In stock when they get a delivery.
On Thursday, I got my 16 GB from Staples about 30 miles away, it was the last one there. Definitely the only Nexus in my area too, Haha I had been searching and it finally crossed my mind to call there
Edit: should note that they did not have the 8 GB at my Staples. They were also kind enough to hold it for 3 hours until I got off from work despite it being their only one

Uh, the Staples down here in TX were all empty of 16s, and most didn't even carry 8s. The Walmarts are getting 16s in a lot of areas, though. They have tons up around Dallas (where I go to school), but are out around Austin (where I'm spending the summer). Another place to check (just don't buy them all before I get up there for mine!)

Yep my first one had a dead pixel. You have 14 days to get a replacement and it's really easy. Walk in, have your tablet and receipt/order number and get a new one.

Staples had neither the 16 or 8 in stock. The sales person was kind enough to tell me some guy just bought the last dozen!!! to sell online for a profit....??!
No estimate for next shipment, nothing....seriously? Called CS, no help, they asked if the sales person suggested I preorder one...I wasn't informed of the option.
I'm sorry but you shouldn't rub stuff like that in someone's face. Yes the lucky customer is entitled to do as he pleases but I feel strongly a product like this should have purchase quantity limits.
I may stop shopping at staples unless I have to go there in a 911... I sold my gift card.
Better believe I'm going to Google I/O 2013. Hopefully freebies will still exist (I would NEVER re sell mine,let alone the day of like some people did)...I'd be crazy not go go with my student discount. Just a matter of luck getting tickets I guess!

Nexus 7 Replacement

Just received an email from Google Play about my replacement. Didn't see any similar threads pop up but just in case, here is some info for anyone who wants to get theirs replaced:

I literally filled that out yesterday and got my UPS return label, RMA slip, and replacement cart link a about 10 minutes ago. They want the old device back within 21 days and put a $249 authorization hold on your card until they receive it. They have a shopping cart setup for you so you just click the link and place the replacement order.

That thread gives no useful information on a RMA order, it just talks about those who already or are going to replace.
Yea, the turn arounds are getting faster and faster. My first replacement took a week. My second, half that. Hopefully, I don't have to see how long a third takes...

Just an update. Got my replacement tablet a couple days ago and had the screen rising issue out of box. My only reaction: WTF. Feel like returning at least until the manufacturing issues are resolved.

When I put in the discount code I got a message saying the promotion had expired. Even reading the info on the link from above it says it would expire at 12pm today.

I was able to get an order in for one of these. It took 24 hours to get an email with confirmation from them and it didn't have a tracking number though.

Official N4 RMA Shipping Status Thread

First, to the mods:
I would first like to make the case for the existence of a separate thread for RMA's. It is now well known that Google has always maintained a separate stock of N4 units that (if I'm not mistaken) also ship out from a separate location, and therefore the entire shipping situation for these is distinctly different/separate from that of all other standard Play Store orders, with posts for which obviously belonging in the main shipping thread. For those of us either posting and/or seeking information regarding only RMA's, it makes it rather difficult and confusing trying to find that particular information in the main thread. That is why I am hoping we can keep this thread, again specifically for RMA shipping and status.

And to add to this from my part, I have an RMA that I put in for my 16gb on 12/13, listed as Pre-order, and at that time I was given a 2-3 week quote, but since all I've heard from everyone else has been 3-5 weeks, I'm now inclined to believe the latter. In my situation, I'm just hoping to have this replacement by the time we go away on vacation on Jan 11th, but I'm not holding out too much hope on that. Then there's the LG warranty option, but because I'm not the "original purchaser" then I can see that process getting rather hairy. I mean did dig up an old slider phone that I could "use" in the meantime if I had to send this in, but right now I'm at a loss.
By the way to give a bit of background, I originally purchased an N4 back on 11/23, but had to send that one back due to screen issues. At the time I just assumed there were no replacements with everything being sold out, so I just went with a straight refund. I then purchased my current phone as an unopened/sealed unit on eBay, but now this one has major earpiece speaker issues. So rather than go through the craziness of sending this one back to the eBay seller, have him get an RMA, etc. etc., I just thought I'd try to change my original Play Store "refund" into a "replacement" (refund for my returned phone hadn't hit yet), since I'd learned that Google had a separate RMA stock. Well of course as well all now know, even the RMA stock is wiped out, so I'm currently 1) sitting on an RMA replacement with Google that is in "pre-order" status, and 2) rocking an N4 (the one from eBay) with a bum speaker. And THAT is my effing N4 story. :victory:

My rma story, which I'm sure y'all have heard before, but for the new comers who will be joining us the story is I ordered the phone on 11/13, received my N4 on the 28th, right out the box the speaker was funky, crackling and popping. It blew two days later, no sound at all and no calls. Called for the rma on the 1st and was told rma stock is different than regular stock and that I would get it in 3-5 days. They finally told me last Thursday that they are out of rma stock and it'll be 3-5 weeks. I'm not taking this lightly as I call periodically, at least once a week, to get some kind of update. I've talked to managers and they all give the same spiel, "I'll escalate it to a shipping specialist". No choice but to wait, although I am contemplating sending it in to LG, would rather fix it myself though. No parts out there. :banghead:

Not sure I would trust the LG folks either. Ugh.
Here's my story. Ordered RMA on Dec 4th thinking I would have it in 3-5 business days. Had to cancel that one and order a new RMA because Google wouldn't let me change my shipping address without making a new order. New order date is Dec 16th.

I'm trying to look on the bright side, which is hopefully by the time we get our replacements they would have worked out all the issues, like speaker, yellow tint, rattling, creaking, etc... brilliant idea about the swap!

Well he told me, take it with a grain of salt, that when they get new orders the computer automatically prints the shipping label. So once you order it can't be changed. How hard is it to print a new shipping label? Seriously, Google.

i had the same problem when i order my replacement it end up being under my old address they wouldn't let me change it, so i end up cancel the order..and went to ebay, got very lucky bought one on Friday for $415 with free shipping witch i think is not a bad deal, i receive it today.so far everything good, no problem at all.. im glad i cancel my order would have to wait 3 weeks
What would really suck is if I don't get it at the new address by Jan 14th I would have to cancel and make yet another new RMA order. Let's hope it doesn't come down to that...

I just want to at least order already... Yesterday I was getting a message about my cart being empty and I called and the rep stated it was because it's not actually in the system. Well today I got an email from BB, asking for me to finish my order. Well now I get to the final page where I send in my info to the carrier. All I get now is the following message:
"We're sorry, there was a problem with your request. Please contact your carrier directly for assistance."
I then call Sprint, let them know exactly whats going on, and I'm going through BB because they have an exclusive on Amber Gold. They check my account for issues and say everything is good and there is no errors on there end. BB doesn't seem to know why and keeps sending me to Sprint.
I just want to get the thing in Amber Gold before April 10th.
My cart would clear out if I didn't checkout as a guest. As for the last screen I was getting an error about the order being complete but it was due to me typing in a piece of the account info wrong.

unfortunately, no. they treat it as a pre-order and don't handle pre-order over the phone, stores don't have it in there systems as an option, and yeah, stuck with this problem online. :///

I ordered a gold one from BB. Also had errors when logged into my account. Had to checkout as guest and it went through just fine. Did get order confirmation on the 25th but no shipping info or updates yet. Had a friend get his today already. That one was ordered directly from Sprint I just wanted the gold one. I hope it ships soon. Sprint usually will get them to me next day air or 2 day. BB will have to see.

Still didn't let me over the phone, but the rep said April 2nd, they'd be in stores. Really taking that as a grain of salt but I'm patiently waiting, if this is true, I can relax a bit, it's only til Wednesday. As long as I have my M8 before the 10th, nobody dies. Lol jk Vegas trip coming up.
