If you want your information stolen, hacked, or get scammed then you should try it and let us know. Trust me I learned the hard way and I wasn't pleasant. If it is too good to be true than it probably is. :silly:
If you do decide to order then here is what my prediction is going to be. After completing the order (this is after they get all your info), you receive and email saying they are out of stock and they'll have to cancel your order. You'll be like darn but go with your life. Weeks or months later down the road, BAM! your credit cards gets an unauthorized charge and the nightmare begins. One advice I can give you from my ordeal is that you should never trust online retailers no matter how authentic it looks (the website looks way fishier compared to the one the got me) and should only stick with proven vendors like Amazon, Google Play Store,Staples, Office Depot, etc.

No listing on reseller ratings, no physical address listed, no phone number listed, the internet archiver (way back machine) has no entries at all meaning the site isn't even a year old...and they are selling it at a loss...
Yeah, I wouldn't risk it for a $25 savings.

Yeah, registered by some French lady in April this year, so only 4 months old.

Ok well im certainly not buying this one im 16 and dont have the money to risk. I looked at some website saftey site and it said that it was 47 percent safe. To me that sounds like there is a 50 percent chance that i would actually get a nexus 7 if i ordered it from there.

You visit XDA using an Amiga 500? Very cool!

HAHAHAH! This is hilarious. First of all, the tablet pictured there is basically a perfect square, not to mention the lack of any credible contact information. I say go for it. If anything, you'll learn a valuable lesson (about $175 worth of a lesson).

There is no checkout button to begin with!
I say this guy is starting to learn PHP, who wants to bet on an SQL injection vulnerability?

Who got a free nexus 7 by canceling

This thread is for people who ordered from the play store and have recieved their orders but cancelled and did not get charged. Do we have any lucky buggers that have managed to net one free because the way google are handling things i wouldnt be suprised if a few hundred slip through their pathetic delivery tracking system.
I doubt that will happen.
Sent from my GT-N7000
I would not be surprised if those people get an invoice and return shipping label in the mail. And then have to choose return or pay. Let alone if it was cancelled and the purchase does not say cancelled in Play store then technically Google covered the terms of the sale and could charge the credit card on file since they could show delivery of said product. Plus in its term of sale it states the cancellation period.
This thread will just bait people to debate. Seems trollish.

Correct, you are not a lawyer.
The "unsolicited goods" laws in some countries (USA for example, which is handled by the FTC) is explicitly written to cover receiving unordered products. It is not for "haha! you sent me something after I cancelled my order so I get to keep it for free!" type scenarios.
So, for example, if you signed up for a free product and they sent you something more with a bill/invoice. Or if you never ordered anything to begin with, but they sent you something and wanted you to pay for it. Or if you receive something (again, not ordered) and it was due to an honest shipping mistake*.
To the latter, you are still supposed to contact the merchant to let them know of the mistake, and give them an opportunity to correct it at zero cost to you (ie: paying for return shipping) within a reasonable amount of time. You can also make it clear that if they don't contact you about it within that time, you will dispose of the product in any manner you see fit.
While this part of it might be a stretch, it could possibly apply here. So if you did actually get an N7 by mistake after cancelling your order, and want to keep it with little risk, I would suggest sending a certified letter to Google with the content above. If they respond back saying to send it to them using a prepaid shipping method, you should do so. Otherwise, while it wouldn't be considered "fraud" since it was their mistake, it could be considered theft of goods, since you did in fact order the product, they still sent it to you due to an honest mistake, they later tried to get it corrected, and you refused.
Or, you could just stay quiet and hope they don't contact you about it - if you are so inclined.
But in the end, if they do contact you to return the merchandise, I would recommend doing so.
On the invoice I received with my order, it had the device's serial number. They knew the device's serial number too, when I rang up and started the RMA process. Google know where each device has been shipped to, so I doubt very much that they'll do nothing and let people keep free tablets. Also, as stated on the support pages, they can remotely disable devices.
I can't wait to fast forward a couple of months, and the "Google just charged my credit card for a tablet I didn't return " threads start.

I really hope a lot of these users weed themselves out of the forums. And I don't appreciate change.org emails about such petty things, just my personal opinion. I feel like if the company doesn't want to give you back the $14, and it's a big deal to you, then you need to accept it. Either realize it's not the end of the world, or never buy another google product. If you have to nag the shipping out of them or coerce them, you can't come back and talk about how you would be mad about the launch but since they volunteered the shipping they're back in your good favor, just because you want to justify using something you complained incessantly about.

Well, no, they didn't force anyone to buy a Nexus 7 in the first place, but they did force many people to buy it from them.
Shortly after stores announced that they were going to start selling on Wednesday, Google began refusing to cancel orders. They told people that their unit was being prepared for shipment and it was too late to stop the package. Correct me if I'm wrong, but many of those people who tried to cancel and were denied because their Nexus was on the way didn't actually see their package shipped for another week. Meanwhile, they had to choose between picking up a unit off the shelf or waiting for a package that still had not been declared. Either way they were paying for shipping.
This is a pathetic way to express a legitimate grievance.
This is ridiculous, the shipping amount was clearly listed prior to check out, if you didn't want to pay shipping you should have gotten it somewhere else.

16gb nexus 7 discontinued?

Well I was stupid and pre-ordered from Wal-Mart.com. My order status stated it would arrive today but that it hadn't shipped yet. I heard Asus is refusing to make anymore until those that have suggested it would have been better to have Samsung or Motorola make them instead, apologize..
In other news, it could be a national holiday in China, like it was during the long wait for the Notion Ink Adam, where employees agreed to continue working during New Years celebrations instead of going on their yearly vacation to see their families. Perhaps this time they see no benefit and refuse to skip theirs..
Second wave 8/30 or still waiting on the SD (street date) of 8/05?
NOTE: I called my Gamestop, they didn't have any, she offered to look in the computer to see which stores nearby had them in stock. Went to one and exchanged mine on the spot.
My Gamestop called me today to tell me my replacement came in.
I also ordered from Wallmart and checked on my order yesterday they said that it was ready to ship today. Than today I get a email and was told that they could not ship it yet. This was after they told me that they had them!

Yeah, I think at the price point more people went straight for the 16GB. I know I did, I didn't even consider the 8GB.
Honestly though with either model and an OTG cable and a little root work, storage isn't really a limiting factor at all. People who really want an N7 and can find a 8GB now should scoop one up.

It's not discontinued as mentioned, probably just temporarily out of stock. In Sweden we seem to only get the 16GB version sometime during September. I would have been fine with the 8GB but it doesn't really matter to me either in price or storage.
They might have stopped to address the screen and creaking issues. That's just a guess though.

Even if they halted distribution, there's no way it's being discontinued. I really doubt that any Walmart rep has his or her finger on the pulse, and the Gamestop guy only said that they were expecting shipments but now they're not.
It is possible that Google wants to put a hold on things until they reign in the build quality.

Backpage Deal For a Note II

Well, I hate to be posting this in a topic I have no idea if it will fit here. But I am looking for answers before i take a dive. I've been emailing this dude on Backpage and have been thinking about going through with a deal for a T-Mobile Note 2 for 350. Which honest to god seems too good to be true.I went on there because I heard that you have to pay for a membership to get in and I figured, why would this guy have a membership and be able to legally scam people if he wasn't legit? He's also telling me to go through Google Checkout and that there will be an email that i have to reply to that says that my payment will be secure and insured. (Obviously, I've never used it before.) Ships from Romania and after I get the package I have 30 days to return it to get my money back.
My question is, Should I go for it? I really need a new phone since my SGS II is having trouble holding a charge and my wife is giving me the ok to go ahead and do it, but honestly, seems too good to be true. He says he has friends in the factory and a contract with UPS to get cheap shipping. :x Help me out guys?
