Mistreak7 [miui][cm9] - Dell Streak 7

For the few who wanted MIUI ported to the streak, you may get it soon
MIUI FOR THE STREAK7 IS NEAR OPERATIONAL STANDARDS
STOCK PARTITIONS REQUIRED!
WILL NOT WORK WHEN COMING FROM HS-R1 THROUGH HS-R6 OR ICS-B1 THROUGH B4 FROM GIVEEN

This is still a work in progress (that means not everything works, there will be bugs)
:victory:WE HAVE BOOT!:victory: however its followed by many more of them if you lock the device
landscape lock screen and portrait general use... for now

3G AND 4G HAVE NOT BEEN TESTED HOWEVER CODE IS IN PLACE FOR THEM
NO CAMERA BECAUSE ITS MORE SH!T TO WORRY ABOUT
TWRP2 or CWM 6.0.1 required
as always if you flash it and its now FUBAR its your fault
There is a possibility you will f*** up, if you do the responsibility for repairing it is yours (why would I fix your mistakes)
Bug report is to be user fed. If you have hardware faults or have something not work that you think should work (apart from the camera) then submit a logcat
Thanks to DJ_steve and Giveen for ICS B4, TheManii for porting ICS B4 to stock partitions, a bunch of crazy guys who made MIUI possible and Linus Torvalds for linux kernel
Download links will probably be up in the next 72hours
English only as XDA is in english only

If flashing through CWM doesn't work then push the files across with adb/fastboot then reboot
complaint report:
1. No GApps: you have to flash them post install. the end.
2. wouldnt it be easier if?: no, this is my way of doing it, be thankful you got this rather than being negative about the way I work
3. camera: decided you can live without it (however I may change my mind at a later date)
4. wifi: untested (though it should work)
5. possible lock ups every 20-30min: its a beta, don't expect it to be perfect
6. 3g/4g: untested
7. bluetooth: untested (though it should work)
8. when will the next rom be ready: see my signature
9. why doesnt the rom boot properly when I have CWM6.0.1.x?: because you probably came from HS-r6, have one of the failed build that I accidentally uploaded or havent cleared your caches
10. whats with the intermittent reboots?: I'm not a f***ing miracle worker here guys, I just do this in my spare time when I have had enough to drink to care about the wants of other people

Now this will be interesting!

Flashable from CWM? Any wipes needed?

CWM 6.0.1.x would be worth a try and try wiping dalvik cache and perform a fac reset if it doesnt boot preoperly

Nocturnal_50, tried to flash from HoneyStreak R7 + CWM 6.0.1.0 twice. It says "MIUI ICS port ..." and so on, installing complete and... nothing changes, im on R7 with all of my apps and settings

After booting aospCMod 2.3.2

So for the past two days I've been trying to flash the new AOSP Gingerbread ROM, but although I follow everything straight from the wiki it always seems to get stuck on the HTC screen after the last reboot. Help me please!
EDIT: So I somehow got the rom to boot last night using RA recovery but after loading up a notice says Setup Wizard not being able to respond...etc, etc. Also after booting my home, call, and search buttons don't work at all. not even for other roms. PLEASE HELP!
020211 So after following instructions from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11078749&postcount=4860 i was finally able to boot CM7 fully and without problems. If you're having problems with booting aosp's gingerbread rom just use this guy's instructions (at the bottom) and you should be good to go.
Make sure u install manually through clockworkmod mod first format boot system data and cache then install the rom let it boot then reboot and install gapps without wiping and reboot then you should be good I'm using the normal clockworkmod 2.5.2 and it works great
Sent from my HTC Hero CDMA using XDA App
okay thanks! ill try that and get back to you.
so no luck at booting. i'm still stuck at the HTC Boot screen.
i tried also and still no luck .. i hate this
to anybody having problems flashing GB, try these steps EXACTLY:
1) use clockwork 2.5.0.1 and follow the wipe/format process in the wiki
2) flash the rom then gapps
3) FLASH A CAPPED 691 KERNEL
This seems to be a continued issue, and I think it is because some phones can't handle high clock speeds like 768. The recovery currently posted by aosp (cwm 3.0.0.5) is overclocked and therefore will not boot, same with the kernel in the rom. Report back here if it works, I have already updated the wiki to advise people of this. Good Luck.
So i tried it again with the capped kernel and it still didn't work. also tried it without firerat's MOD but still a no go.
I'm upgrading aosp 2.3.2 rom from nightly build #188. Before flashing aosp rom plesae try to wipe everything like data, dalvik-cache, battery and rotate status. BTW, I'm using RA-Recovery not ClockworkMod.
i installed it after the standard wipes and thats it and its working just fine at 768 on my hero200. didnt have any issues and im loving the rom, but i am having one issue. this link is to my issue in q and a. if you can help feel free to hop on my thread and reply. other than that, i juast wanted to say this rom is great!

Well, I hate to say it but you must be missing a step somewhere. FYI in the OP for gingerbread the cwm3.0.0.5 is now capped at 691, so try that one again. Wipe both wipe options, go to mounts and format boot, system, data, cache, then gn into advanced wipe dalvik twice. Flash the rom, gapps, deca #43 capped 691 kernel, reboot. The first boot should take a while so be patient. Report back here if you can't get it, and I would recommend going into the live help room (aospbot IRC) which in the OP for GB. Good luck.
So still no luck. But I'm determined to somehow fix this no matter how many times I try!

I think you should back up your sd card and then format it in your pc. Then start all over. From the recovery on down. Skip any mods till you get booted up. Like keyboards and boot screens etc. And try the capped cwm recovery. Hope it helps good luck

Glad I could help man! Glad to see you got it worked out!
There's a readme in the Aosp 2.3.2 OP. It's right under the files, labeled README. I think it would help if anyone having trouble actually reads through this. skipping steps causes problems.
also, Factory reset skips over the /system partition. I recommend wiping /system partition if you're coming from another rom, or if you are decided to start fresh. You have to go into the partitions menu to actually format the /system partition.

This is true if you use CWM (which I do not ) but if you fastboot wipe all the partitions you will have no issues w/ RA as the OP discovered once he used the instructions that I posted.
touble with vvm
uh not quite sure if this is rite place to post this but looked better than the rest, so i got the rom running fine and it is wonderful improvement to my what use to be my wifes stock hero. Only problem is with the visual voice mail, i copied it from the stock hero before flashing, than after flashing copied it back, it works in the sense that i can see the voicemail in the app and even the voicemail to text works, but 2 things are wrong, 1 is i cant clear voicemail notification in the status bar without rebooting phone, and now she gets a text from a 9069 that tells her phone has recieved a voicemail, found a work around for the second one i blocked the number using blacklist so the text dont come thru nomore, but how i can i fix the fact that the only way to clear the voicemail notification is to reboot the phone? Any help, comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Or is there somewhere i can dl the latest sprint vvm app?? or are they device specific. Thank you in advance for any help

[Q] Install Android only

Hello All;
I have decided to try and male my HP touch pad an Android only touch pad.
I need help though as i am a novice at best.
I am looking for help on the files i will need. Want to install CM 10 recent and CWM.
Do i need a boot loader or will that be in the ROM?
And what other files will i need?
i am assuming i need a ROM, Recovery, and GAPPS. Other than that i am not sure.
Found someone on the WebOS Nation who is willing to help so i dont want to go into this like and idiot, i want to have my ducks in a row.
Any help will be appreciated
thanks
This is a good guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2147284. As for Android-only, I don't recommend it. WebOS has gotten me out of Android trouble before.

Good point, Hey let me ask you something.
I like flashing ROMs but I always end up with a mess. Moboot, i dont think updates as grub2 does. So, i have thought the best way to switch ROMs would be treating the ROM as a first install, does that make sense and do you agree?
Or do you know a method to change ROMs that works well for you?

Android doesn't update the way Linux does, it only updates apps; the bootloader isn't going to update neatly from a package manager. At the same time, updating the TP's bootloader (moboot) is usually unnecessary. On the other hand I usually like to keep my recovery (TWRP/CWM) up to date. When I switch ROMs I just wipe and flash from recovery. Never had a problem.

As far as I know, most ROM install scripts automatically wipe system for you. Can't hurt to try, though.
Thankfully I have this zip again thanks to sstar posting it the other day. This zip will wipe your ulmage clean. Just flash it as you would a rom, than flash rom and gapps after.

[Q] Now my kids device

I gave my kids my old Galaxy S1 Captivate. I have left the sim card in so that the "Emergency Call" button did not show up on the lock screen and I got a new sim anyway. Is there a way to remove the sim and get rid of the call feature all together? I was going to root the phone and update to 4.4 when I can. Is there a way to get rid of the "phone" features? I also have a Moto Atrix that I was going to do the same thing for my other kid as well. Any help would be great.

When I tried rooting it, I got "E:signature verification failed Instalation aborted." didnt know what that meant so I was going to try to redo it on my pc. I originally tried to email the update.zip to myself and save it to the phone and reboot it that way but I obviously did something wrong.
Try again and report

Try CF Autoroot from the play store (or think you can find it here).
Otherwise, you can flash a kernel with Odin (Corn for GB, Speedmod for Froyo) and enable root in recovery.

Flash a kernel with CWM, flash CM7, then follow the instruction in the thread linked

Try this:
- do Factory Reset
- clear cache
- clear dalvik
- re-flash CM10.1.3 package
- flash latest Android 4.2.2 gapps 20130812
- reboot in recovery
- do Factory Reset one more time
- clear cache
- clear dalvik
- reboot
See if this helps. Usually solves unexplained FC issues.
Sometimes it's just a bad download. If no luck, try to re-download the packages.

Yes, the phone will still go back to my daughter. It was a testing ground for me, since it is the first time. I will also be rooting and flashing my son's Moto Atrix and my Galaxy Tab 10.1 (first gen) "the one I really wanted to do". I also have my Galaxy S3 and my wifes Galaxy S3, but I wont be touching those just yet. Needed to get my feet wet. Now I need to figure out how to disable the phone feature part of the phones, and other stuff I don't want them to get into.
BTW, my kids are 4 almost 5, so all they need is the games. Using our old phones is much cheaper than buying any kind of game system.

Help flashing CM

I screwed up somehow. Maybe things changed since I last messed around with Android phones. I went into twrp and did a factory reset then installed latest nightly and these gapps ( https://github.com/cgapps/vendor_google/tree/builds/arm > gapps-5.1-arm-2015-07-17-13-29.zip), were they the right gapps? . Now phone won't boot or go into recovery mode so can't go back to my stock nandroid. I'll try going back to stock using wugys toolkit :/
Edit: I used the toolkit to flash stock + unroot option without wiping data but it finished too fast somehow and the options in bootloader were fixed. I booted up phone and now CM booting up. What did I do wrong and how did I fix it? I'm really confused and would appreciate some help.

I'll try that if my current setup fails me but why would gapps mess up the recovery? The buttons in bootloader kinda changed to just small text as well and the text under it which had the device details changed but I didn't make note of the changes.
I got the gapps link from the cm page. I guess it might be outdated but that's kind of their fault for not updating in their OP.

I would just like to share an enhanced version of stock note 4 with the only "foreign" app being the grace InCallUI mainly because I have yet to locate a guide on how to make all the buttons layout correctly and there is also very minor cosmetic changes (removed words from lock screen and extended the drop-down panel to go all the way across the screen). Yes, the firmware includes everything except recovery and aboot. Also a few things I forgot to mention, the switch to turn on volume up for flashlight is in the display settings and to set the apps for toolbox you just long press on the toolbox icon (when activated) and then drag it up to the edit section at the top of the screen. Sorry guys I'm terrible at writing the info and summary for these roms but hopefully I can get it figured out one day.

I prefer instructions simple, and retail and Dev posts/instructions separate from each other. As well as return to "unrooted" or "keep root" posts. Many have accidentally locked their BL as a result. There is no reason to include a "return to stock-locked" link in with a custom rooted ROM post/links. Uhg
Thank you for keeping it simple for us, and all your work!

Yeah it does get a little confusing. That's the main reason I just posted my own link just to make sure I'm not linking to the wrong thing. Fun fact while testing all this out, I was able to flash pj2 roms while I was on the cpl1 firmware and everything worked. I just tested one rom but it seems like once you upgrade your firmware you may not have to downgrade again if you want to go back to another rom.

oooh really! So probably there is nothing new in the upgrade only that it's un-downgradable:silly:

The first couple times I tested a firmware that I made, I was terrified of locking my bl. I flashed the one I posted and then tested for downgrade and all is good, but it doesn't seem to be necessary to downgrade again. As far as differences between them the only thing I noticed was more security stuff and some different bloatware.
Forgive me...
So the "full firmware link" (download file name: "cpl1_tar_32bit_ext4") doesn't include the recovery and aboot files(?)

That's correct. If you flash it and let it boot you'll have your custom recovery, unlocked bootloader, no root, no busybox, cpl1 modem/kernel, and odexed system. That way if someone wants pure stock they can just flash the supersu file and your set.
She's running great for me! I installed xposed and oscar kernel and it's stable as a rock! Any chance of the additional grace apps - email, contacts, etc? Great work man!

I just tried the email zip at this post and it worked. When I get off work I'll test those others. They all should work but if you don't want to be the guinnie pig I can do it.
So oscar works? I thought it might need an update but that's good to know.
Yes, Oscar 13 works great. I'll give the grace apps a try - thanks again!

For some reason after flashing grace email, I see high battery usage for email 19-30%. Tried clearing data but still see the drain. Am I missing something?

Honestly, I only use that app when testing it and I haven't noticed any battery drain, but I can't say I've ever checked either. I wonder if it just needs to settle in. Maybe someone that uses it more can chime in to see if it's an issue for everyone. If you want to, see if after a while it goes back to normal range and if it doesn't try to get a log and we can see what we can come up with.
Hello @kevintm78. Need a little help. I just odin'd the full firmware and now my phone won't boot. I get unfortunately System UI has stopped. I was on CPJ1 before I did this. Should I just try to restore a backup? Thanks

If Odin completed it should have at least updated your firmware. If that's the case you could just go ahead and flash the rom. All the files from the full firmware get overwritten anyway. Just make sure you do a complete wipe (everything but your sd/Ext sd) and you should be good to go.

Thank you. Yes I just restored a backup just fine and it's also showing my baseband is now CPL1. Now I'm going to flash your rom so I can have stock whenever I want it. Thank you for your time and help. And for the upgrade.
@kevintm78...thank you for this. I had lost 4g somewhere in all my flashing. I tried reflashing partial firmware and even restoring backups wouldnt give me 4g again.I was getting ready to go through the entire lock, unlock, root process again when I found this thread. I downloaded the full firmware in the op, flashed with flashfire, rebooted into recovery, wiped dalvik, data, cache, and rebooted system. I now have 4g back. I made a nandroid of stock, and then clean flashed LOS and still have 4g. So thankful to you!!

Yeah man, I'm a bit of a flashaholic too and was having the same issues a while back when experimenting with data fixes and thought that I fried my sim card. Like you I tried the partial first but the only thing that got my 4g back was flashing a full stock firmware. :good:
