Swiss Mobility Legion Smartphone Case for Xperia X1

I'm interested in the above mentioned case from Swiss Mobility. Anyone here with experiences to share with this case (used together with X1)? I can't find a distributor in Europe - anyone knows where to buy it in Europe? (I know BestBuy has them, but the nearest store is 6000 miles away and shipping is twice the cost of the case). Swiss Mobility's web site hasn't worked for some time. Anyone knows what's up with that?

They ship to Europe with courier service (3-5 days) for 25 usd. same price for the case so I suppose its worth it if you want to order together a couple more accessories.

How exactly are carrying cases worn?
I've seen people wear carrying cases only a scarce amount of times, and I totally forgot how people manage to wear these.
I have a carrying case for my phone (not the Xperia), and it is so bulky! It's for the Samsung SCH-i760 btw. Anyways, so this is how I wear it: I basically use the "clip" to clip onto my belt, but I notice it is so bulky.
So when I usually wear shirts that cover almost pass the fly/zipper of my pants. And when I try to pull my shirt down to cover my pant, it covers the damn thing, and it looks like I got big tumor on the right or left side of my stomach.
So then I clip it on my pocket, it looks better, but now the pong hangs more loosely. It's kinda funny how these carrying cases rarely have a model for them to wear the carrying case, this is because companies know that it's freaking ugly to carry these things, ugly = no sales.
So if I am doing it all wrong, and if I am wrong that it's freaking ugly, then tell me this: what is the proper method of wearing these damn things?

Tuck your shirt in.

beware magnets
that swiss case uses a magnet, when i had a case that used magnets i found that when i got a call the phone would wake up and as the phone passed by the magnet when getting it out it would think that the slide had been activated and rotate . by the time this happened i could not answer the call in time and it went to messaging.
This may have been more of an issue with some of the earlier roms that I was using that were quite slow to rotate.
you might be able to work round this depending on the strength of the magnet and/or what orientation you put the phone in the case.
I bought a case that is secured by velcro to avoid this problem, however a couple of months later the velcro has worn out and does not stay closed. I may get my old magnet case out again and see if the new faster roms are better at coping.

Best Case *SO FAR* :)

After trying several cases for my Nexus 7, knowing there aren't any specifically for the Nexus 7 at any retail stores, this was the best one I've come across. It will hold me over until an official case comes out (I've kept the receipt so I can return it). I just can't have such an awesome piece of tech sitting around without a case and without the ability to use it as a stand for viewing. The leather is genuine and the case is simply gorgeous. I love the way if holds the tablet without the clamps/rubberized holding mechanism actually rubbing or touching the bezel. All ports are accessible while it is in the case and the power/volume buttons are very easily accessible.
Found it at Fry's this morning on the way to work but it will set you back $59.99. One of the best portfolio stand cases I've ever owned for any of my devices. High end.

None, which is hard to say about most cases. I've always had something I've disliked about a case but have dealt with it. I've also always went for the cheaper the better in the past. This case is truly a "you get what you pay for" case. The way it holds the very edges of the tablet is my favorite part. It looks like it is floating in the case and the parts that hold the tablet in place never really become part of the view. The access to all buttons and inputs as well as the quality of the leather are great. The actual stand aspect allows for infinite viewing angles and never feels cheap, like the stand portion is going to collapse at any moment.

This case looks really nice. I personally want a colored case though and not the standard brown/black. Also, I'd rather pay a bit more for a case that I really like and thats going to last me a while then buy a cheap case that I'm not that into, deciding that Im not satisfied with it and having to buy more. So if I see something that I fall in love with then I don't mind pulling the trigger as long as its not 100+

Nice. It fits perfectly? Usually cases with the plastic clips are pretty picky about what they'll work with. If so, I'm thinking about buying one of these gtab 2 7.0 cases and adding a "smart cover" magnet to it.

Here's how well it fits Very securely! I'm actually shaking the case while I hold it upside down. Talk about making your heart jump a bit!

I just pulled the edges on the 4 rubber ends out slightly, if that makes sense, and when the tablet was in place, they wrapped perfectly around each corner of the tablet. It takes a tiny bit of "fitting", but once it's on, it's all good.

I had to bring it to work! It definitely is my new baby. Tethered 4G connection from my Galaxy Nexus Streaming music while getting my work on.

How about the speaker in the back, is it covered or are there holes for it?

There are no holes for the speaker. I did a test at max volume and I have no idea why but it sounds louder with it in the case then out of the case. It could be the way it's configured with the speaker near flush but with a decimeter or so gap. I know with my phones and tablets that they tend to sound louder when they are angled near a wall and I seem to get the same effect with this case.

People on other threads have been linking to Cases listed on Amazon and Ebay with that very similar look (they probably all use the same stock photos) with prices ranging from $10 to $20. Even cheaper.

I don't know, may be not the same quality but it's hard to judge from photos, or even the prizes.
Only way to judge is hand-on experience like the OP's case, his case looks good also because when the back holds on to four corners only, whereas these ones are a bit 'uneven' (when viewed in portrait mode) : p

WOWparts Case Review

My son decided that he wanted the WOWparts case. I posted a review on Amazon about it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008M5SD9U/ref=oss_product
It claims to have a magnet for the sleep/wake function, but there isn't one. Also, the part that holds the device is too big vertically by just over 1/4". As a result, his Nexus 7 can slide around inside the case, making it more difficult to use. I've contacted WOWparts in case they accidentally sent us the wrong case. I'll post here again if they respond.
I'd say to avoid this one. Even if everything was right, the similar Poetic case (which I review here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1795991) is superior in every way. At the time, it was $2 cheaper to boot, although now the Poetic one is more expensive.

Would love to hear any feed back on the rotating case from WOWparts. Anyone order this?

Ah, thanks for this, this was on my list of potentials.

They got back to me. Evidently it was mis-listed as having a smart cover when it doesn't. They offered to let me keep it and get a partial $5 refund. I took a them up on it. It would have cost me at least $3 to ship it back anyway. The fit still isn't the greatest, so I can't recommend it. They were quick to respond, though, so I'll give them credit for that.

From looking at the listing, it doesn't have the smart cover, if that makes a difference to you. If the Nexus 7 fits in that one like it does in the one my son got, I'd say to take a pass.

I did end up getting the rotating case from WOWparts. Although it doesn't have the smart cover - it does fit the Nexus 7 perfectly. For $10 delivered to Canada.. I would say it is a decent buy

Built-in magnetic strip enjoy more comfort it brings with a kickstand to prop up your Nexus.

Finally! A Waterproof Case for the Note 2!

I kayak fish a lot, and I've started participating in tournaments which use a phone app for submitting a measuring board photo of your fish. So I've been using a dry bag style "case" for a while, but it's cumbersome and doesn't really protect the phone very well from impacts, which can easily happen in a kayak. Anyway, someone finally made a LifeProof-ish/Obex-ish case for the Note 2:

I bought one and will post how well it works.
It has loop for you to attach a lanyard or strap -- I'll probably put one of the floating Pentax wrist straps that I have for my GoPros on it. Because the most waterproofed phone in the world isn't going to do you any good when it's lost at the bottom of the ocean.
I've been a long-time buyer of Seidio cases, but was VERY disappointed when they didn't make an Obex case for the Note 2 ("because of the S-pen"), but then made one for the Note 3. :silly:

The case works PERFECTLY! Can't emphasize that enough. It's really easy to install it and use it, the touchscreen works very well, no leaks, the ports are relatively easy to access while also doing a great job of keeping water out. I've used it twice now fishing from a kayak, and it's really protected the phone well, while allowing full use of the camera as well as all other phone functions. Several people posted reviews on Amazon that the microphone doesn't work well, but I highly suspect that's because they don't have it lined up properly in the case because it works perfectly for me.
Just FYI, this is actually a "Redpepper" branded case rather than "EasyLife". If you Google "Redpepper Note 2" you may be able to find it for even cheaper than it is on Amazon.com. I'm not sweating it, though. The price I got on Amazon was already a fraction of a LifeProof case, and this is the only waterproof case I've found for our Note 2, anyway, so I don't mind rewarding them with a little extra just for that.

Here it is for less than half the price in case anyone else wants this case.

I ordered to the Surface
I’ve always gotten the surface so I figured I would continue using that one. If it turns out that I don’t like that one, how do you like the Dilex? Second off I also got the free Vitreo. How do you like it? Does the Spen work well with it? Any issues with it? Lastly, I normally don’t use screen protectors, but I’ve heard that phones with Gorilla Glass 5 for screens scratch easier. So I’m interested in trying the screen protector, but if I use it and I don’t like it for 1 of various reasons is it easy to take off? I just want to make sure after I take it off there will be no issues with me screen like residue and others. I appreciate your help in advance.

Hey, thought I'd help you out. I've used surface for, I Think 6-8 years now, not sure...anyways, thought I'd try the dilex. Bought the dilex, it looks cool, feels good, easier to hold than surface, but there's some problems.
While in the holster, the slightest pressure makes the center of the screen "tap" the holster. The holster has a lock on the center of the inside of the holster facing the screen, and it hits the screen really easily and often.
Also, the whole setup stands pretty far off my waist compared to the surface, and snags everything - car doors, seatbelts, any doors, people that walk by, etc.
When I hang the holster off my pocket, the dilex doesn't sit "flat" like the surface does - it seems like it wants to fall off. Its tilted the whole time and you are very aware its there all day.
Again, keep in mind I've used the surface so long that its like a part of me, so I'm very aware of the differences between the two. Might not bother you.

I have news for you. I ended up buying the Dilex and I hope I don’t have the problems you are having. I will tell you that I really had no choice. I, too, have been using the Surface for many years and literally thought it was the greatest case ever. I referred it to everyone. However, that was until now. I am shocked that Seidio sold it. I don’t know what is going on at that company, but the holster came in looking like the felt was worn. Had these white spots on it. I still would’ve dealt with it until I went to put the phone in it. When I attempted to put the phone in the holster the latch hit the screen, so there was no way that you could just put it in. You needed a second hand to open the latch to get the phone in which was ridiculous. What was worse was that when you tried to take the phone out you couldn’t just use your one hand to hit the latch and pull it. It would get stuck so again you needed both hands except this time it would still be stuck so you have to wiggle it back and forth until you can get it out (I’m sure you’d miss your call by then). And the worst thing of them all is when I called the company, they were fully aware of the issue and still sold the case and holster combo and just blamed it on the fact that the phone is just a really long phone. I told them that it was odd because my last phone was only 3mm shorter and I believe that if this phone was 3mm shorter the latch still wouldn’t come close to working. That’s how poorly designed and how badly they were off. So I asked about exchanging it and they said they don’t do exchanges, but I can buy the Dilex and just get a refund on this. So I followed his instructions and now I found out that I have to pay the shipping back, which I was shocked. It wasn’t like I wasn’t buying another case and this one was definitely a flawed product. I also have referred so many people and am also potentially buying another case for my daughter. So I asked how much it should cost for me to ship this back and he said I can ship it however I want, so pick the cheapest. He said right now it is $3.75 for standard shipping on their end. That confused me, I said that I thought standard shipping was free and he said they changed their policy. I asked when did this happen and he said yesterday, which I thought was really odd. I am currently confined to my bed due to an illness so my wife took it to the post office and it was almost $5 to send it back which I asked are you sure that was the cheapest and wife told me she double checked that and she told me that she confirmed with the women at the post office that it was the cheapest. So I paid almost $5 for something I don’t have - makes no sense. As far as the Dilex, so far I have mixed emotions. I definitely think it’s probably more protective, but I still like the looks of the Surface better. I also like the fact that the Surface is thinner, but at the same time I do kind of like the thickness of the Dilex in a weird way. I’m very mixed. I’m sure time will tell. As far as the holster is concerned, I didn’t put it on my belt. I just checked to see how the phone worked with it. You can just push it in but the latch does come close to the screen, but does just miss it. I just hope it doesn’t wear on the case as you keep pushing it in. I originally tested it with the screen facing out because I didn’t have a screen protector on it. So if it is pushing the screen than you can always put it in with the screen facing out. I hope I don’t have the same problem when I put it on my belt. I am going to try it to see if I have the same issue with it pressing the screen. I will probably find out if it gets caught on something when I go to the doctor next time. I really hope I don’t have that issue. I really need a phone case that is protective, but thin and also a convenient holster (because I’ve used some really bad holsters in the past, that I hated). I would prefer to have a kickstand as well, but I guess it’s not as important. I hope the Dilex will work for me, but I will start looking now for other combos for the future, just in case. I really hope things get better for Seidio, but want to make sure I am covered. Thanks for your response. At least you know (unknowingly at the time) you still made the right decision in not getting the surface combo because it was horrible. They told me they have had numerous calls about it. So I asked them about the Dilex and they said they don’t see why there would be an issue. I asked them how they knew about the issue with the Surface and they said due to the calls coming in. So they evidently don’t test their products first, which is really poor. But I hope they learn for their mistakes and get back to the company that they were. Sorry for the lengthy response. I am currently confined to my bed due to an illness so my wife took it to the post office and it was almost $5 to send it back which I asked are you sure that was the cheapest and wife told me she double checked that and she told me that she confirmed with the women at the post office that it was the cheapest. So I paid almost $5 for something I don’t have - makes no sense. As far as the Dilex, so far I have mixed emotions. I definitely think it’s probably more protective, but I still like the looks of the Surface better. I also like the fact that the Surface is thinner, but at the same time I do kind of like the thickness of the Dilex in a weird way. I’m very mixed. I’m sure time will tell. As far as the holster is concerned, I didn’t put it on my belt. I just checked to see how the phone worked with it. You can just push it in but the latch does come close to the screen, but does just miss it. I just hope it doesn’t wear on the case as you keep pushing it in. I originally tested it with the screen facing out because I didn’t have a screen protector on it. So if it is pushing the screen than you can always put it in with the screen facing out. I hope I don’t have the same problem when I put it on my belt. I am going to try it to see if I have the same issue with it pressing the screen. I will probably find out if it gets caught on something when I go to the doctor next time. I really hope I don’t have that issue. I really need a phone case that is protective, but thin and also a convenient holster (because I’ve used some really bad holsters in the past, that I hated). I would prefer to have a kickstand as well, but I guess it’s not as important. I hope the Dilex will work for me, but I will start looking now for other combos for the future, just in case. I really hope things get better for Seidio, but want to make sure I am covered. Thanks for your response. At least you know (unknowingly at the time) you still made the right decision in not getting the surface combo because it was horrible. They told me they have had numerous calls about it. So I asked them about the Dilex and they said they don’t see why there would be an issue. I asked them how they knew about the issue with the Surface and they said due to the calls coming in. So they evidently don’t test their products first, which is really poor. But I hope they learn for their mistakes and get back to the company that they were. Sorry for the lengthy response.
