Kernal Version - 3.0.15 - N7000XXLPY-CL474507

Thanks Dr
it seems that the numbers are for a slightly different version
N7000XXLPY---4.0.3/12.05---N7000OXALPY---Download---Open Germany
i had problems for months and months and finally my note had not crashed for over a week
i would like to root it soon but would like my version as a lifesaver should i need to revert back
would like the version i specifically named...

This shud be same b'coz baseband number is not mentioned in that list
first is ROM version (PDA) second is CSC
You can check your CSC by *#1234#, if it same as mentioned on ROM listing(N7000OXALPY), then it is same, which you are looking for.

[Q] How to flash lastest and greatest Froyo 2.2.1 and radio?

Hi there,
I would like to use Odin to flash my SGS 9000 to the latest version of Froyo 2.2.1 (stock Samsung), and the latest radio firmware.
In this thread the list of firmwares are listed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=846913
I want to use Odin to do this.
Current status of my 'phone
2e Recovery with 3 button recovery and download mode is enabled.
PDA: I9000XWJM2
PHONE: I9000XXJM1
CSC: I9000OXXJM2
Pcode: GT-I9000HKATPH
What to use
Which one of the listed firmwares can I use to get the phone up to the latest version? I think these, but am unsure:
I9000XXJPU|2.2.1|2010 December
There is a URL to a file called "All CSC Download". I think the latest file is called: CSC_I9000OXFJP6.tar.md5
Will CSC_I9000OXFJP6.tar.md5 work on my 'phone, and will it offer any improvements over I9000OXXJM2?
Regards.
im using doc rom and it is blazing fast. Doc and others provide great support if your in trouble.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=817703
Lovely, but you should start a new thread about Doc ROM. This thread is about using the latest stock Samsung 2.2.1
If you require advertising space for doc rom then might I suggest Google Adsense?
Doc's ROM = Froyo 2.2.1 (without most of the bugs stock has)
Please read the android development section. It's not nice to just wait and be spoon fed all the info if the info is just a few clicks away..
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Apologies about the doc rom message I wrote. I had misinterpreted it.
I wont flash non stock firmware. I only want to flash the latest Samsung including CSC.
The reason is simply lack of information about what everything does. All the threads tell me to do step A then step B, but seldom explain what & why. Thus I am unable trust what is said, & will therefore only use the official Samsung.
/EDIT:
I have searched for Doc Rom on the web, so far only found this site:
http://www.galaxyroot.com/howtorom-a-noobs-guide-to-installing-docrom-xxjpu-v1-1-with/
I was looking for a list of the following for Doc Rom:
Changelog, indicating reasons for the change from stock Samsung.
Diffs between files of the code changes made.
Release notes.
Does anyone know where I can find these?
Samsung XXJPU is a leaked firmware.Samsung didn't release the source code for it.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Oh. Perhaps Android is psuedo open source.
is this the same for the CSC I9000OXFJP6? ( Although I don't know if this would work with my 'phone so my question may be moot)
If you are that distrusting and need to know exactly what and why things are changed , you will never be able to flash any firmware again .. You willnot find a byte per byte explanation .. And because you do not trust rommod you can also not trust leaked roms !! Who knows , maybe somebody changed somtheing in the leaked firmware .. The only right thing for you to do is wait for a rom update via kies ! But ..... be warned Samsung also doesn't deliver a changelog !!

[Q] I9000XXJP0 phone needs I9000XXJP0 firmware?

I have a UK T-Mobile unlocked unbranded Galaxy S (Froyo) which reports the following details:
PDA: I90000XXJPO
PHONE/MODEM: I90000XXJPP
CSC: I90000OXAJPO (KOR)
Does this mean that I need to find/use a "I9000XXJP0 version" gingerbread ROM file in order to flash gingerbread? Or could I flash some other Europe version e.g. I9000XWJVB gingerbread ROM?
I was surprised that this question is not covered in the various gingerbread flashing threads that I have read. No doubt I have missed something that will be staring me in the face once someone points it out..
Anyway, thanks in advance for any advice.
If you don't want to wait for the official update for your phone you can absolutely flash any of the gingerbread roms on this website. Just be sure to read the instructions carefully.
Btw, the gingerbread rom for your phone won't be JP0, that is a froyo rom. They change with every update.

You can flash any firmware buddy no problems, it doesn't have to be country specific. However flashing a country specific modem will most likely have an effect on signal, call.quality etc. Check out doc's thread as I think there is a good guide there.

Thanks guys. Erm so, if you were me, what do you think my best bet is? I'm thinking of flashing what I have found as being the latest offical build of 2.3.3 from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011901
Modem on that is XX same as my current firmware. Do I need to care about the CSC or anything else? (FYI I've updated my original post above to give the full CSC)
Cook up a rom in doc's kitchen. You can have a very good stock rom or a really good custom one.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
Wow, romkitchen.org looks very interesting. However, it says "Install from a 2.3 ROM" so I guess I would need to upgrade to 2.3 before being able to use it, which is a bit strange as upgrading to 2.3 is all I'm trying to do anyway. And it says it beta, so I think I'm better of using the ROM in my post above?
Yes, you have to flash a stock 2.3 rom first to get the bootloader update. They are all beta version of gingerbread. Even the ones that got pushed out recently aren't as stable as the 2.2.1 roms.
When I go to 2.3 it will be from the kitchen for sure.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
OK. Well, this story has a happy ending. I've upgraded to 2.3.3 (XEE version) using a guide that someone in the romkitchen irc channel linked me to.
hxxps://docs.google.com/document/d/1KePMB1QUUb_fMhY-RbX_vZEMJGTzpKLZNp6cZ2uOGe8/edit?hl=en&pli=1&authkey=CPPth-IF#
As it says in the guide, all I needed to do afterwards was reselect my provider via the APN settings (easy peasy, just selected "T Mobile" from a short list of UK providers).
Cheers for this post to all who replied - just got a Galaxy S too and wasn't sure if there were any caveats about flashing to a ROM with a different ID than your current one aside from normal GSM radio band for picking america vs rest of world etc.

Basic Information about P7300 firmwares

Dears,
I have flashed a new ROM into my P7300 8.9 tab using Odin 1.85 but yet I still don't understand some of the terms,
- What is the pit file? as I could see it is related to the partition, and when using it we are wiping the whole ROM right? is there versions for such file? what I used is p5, is there a newer one? if so, how to find it?
- What is the CSC and Phone files? when we have to use them or not? and how to find the latest versions?
- How to understand the naming in the ROM file? for example on SamMobile,
P7300XWKL4, P7300XWKK4, P7300UTKH6, P7300BVKJ5, and for the CSC, P7300ATOKI1, P7300OXEKK2...
as well in .md5 files
P7300XWKL4_P7300ATOKI1_P7300XXKJ6_HOME.tar
P7300BVKJ5_P7300FTMKJ5_P7300BVKJ2_HOME.tar
P7300XWKL4_P7300ATOKI1_P7300XXKJ6_HOME.tar.md5
what does these names points for?
thanks,

No idea about the pit file, i have never used one.
CSC shows what region it's meant for. I don't care about that.
Build number P7300XWKL4 Says:
Product: P7300
Included languages: XW (there is a table posted somewhere on xda about what languages are included with what letters)
Build year and month: K is 2011 and L is December
File name P7300XWKL4_P7300ATOKI1_P7300XXKJ6_HOME.tar
Build number P7300XWKL4 (already explained above)
CSC version P7300ATOKI1 (where ATO is CSC and KI is year and month)
Baseband version P7300XXKJ6 (not sure about the XX, it seems to always be XX for us and KJ is again year and month)
Many many thanks!

What does PDA, CSC mean? which firmware to choose

Hi all,
I have just bought me a galaxy note with 2.3.6 firmware,
And i wonder what does the PDA and CSC mean in the firmware upgrade to ICS?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
I don't really understand which firmware to choose...
I want to choose 4.0.4 but dont know which one.
I am currently using :
model number GT-N7000
android version: 2.3.6-mobile-star
baseband version: N7000XXLPT
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-N7000XXLA4CL886827
Build: GINGERBREAD.XXLA6
What is my PDA?
What is my CSC?
What is PAD?
What is CSC?
Which firmware can i choose?
What is the difference between all the firmwares?
Thanks in advance
PDA represent your build version
e.g your current build is Build: GINGERBREAD.XXLA6, then PDA version of your ROM is XXLA6
again XX represend for countries, XX means it is for europian country
If suppose your build info contain DDLPA, then DD represens for India and PDA version is LPA, means that ROM is for India
Same way CSC is sales code., you can check your ROM CSC by dialling *#1234#
again first two digits represents country and last three represents release time.
But as such there is no restriction to use any ROM for any country if your device is unlocked(carrier restriction free)
Latest ICS is LRK for germany, you can use that too.
I see

Thanks for the reply dr.ketan now i understand something!
Just to make the picture complete:
when i dial *#1234# i get:
PHONE: N7000XXLPT - what that means?
CSC: N7000EULA1 - what that means?
I understand that because my phone uses PDA with XX i can use any EuropeanROM ?
Thanks a lot!
backup your efs first http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1606012
you need root for that you can get that by following dr ketans guide in sticky section developement.

you can update to any rom any time, just follow dr ketans thread and follow pc odin route
Updating throught Kies/ota is tricky, you need pcode sometimes of the country rom you want to go to, no root, and csc of that countries rom, and a whole stock rom installed for that csc. Best to just always follow pc odin route lol
also read stickies and threads fully cause a lot messed up by not doing that. One tip on ics do not wipe/factory reset
happy reading and searching

CWM and battery
I have rooted the N7000XXLRK successfully.
You mean that i can not install CWM application on that firmware?
So how do i backup the whole phone without CWM?
And another question:
i want to see the battery percentage on the upper bar and not only the battery icon indication, how do i do that? is that possible?
Thanks,
best, not to use cwm on a kernel that can trigger the emmc brickbug, best to use kernel like speedmod k3-11 or likewise which has the trigger for emmc brickbug disabled when doing anything in cwm, or in ics.
Dont wipe, factory reset, change csc, or delete large files on a stock ics kernel
to eliminate these issues read threads/first posts of kernel threads btw.
tip: use kernels based on tw, or stock for stock ics, kernels based on cm9 or other are not for stock..
tip2: when nandroid backup, and wanting to recover that, you need same kernel installed as when backup was made. So use a safe kernel
tip3 when recovering apps and data on different roms, issues can arise due to different database structures, which is why its not really supported on i.e. cm9
tip 4 Some roms are wipe some are not. when going to and from gb and ics stuff could linger, which could cause softbricks. There are clean ways to go to and from, enought threads on that's but always do it on safe kernel whatever wipe action

Download ur stock rom and extract the cache. img file from it. install this cache. img using pc odin selected in the csc tab
if you made efs backup with working ota, restore it, if you didnt, check if:
no custom parts installed (kernel)
Or parts that didnt come with same stock rom version (e. g. if you changed modem)
Or if your pcode is different.
pcodin is faster lol

Thanks for the explanation, but what do the letters PDA actually stand for?
(And please don't say "Personal Digital Assistant," because that's all I can find and I've been searching all day.) :fingers-crossed:
I'm sure it must mean something else when it is being used in a discussion of Android mobile phone software.
Does anyone know what "PDA" actually stands for, what are the actual words represented by that abbreviation?
Thanks in advance for your help.
CSC and Google Play App
I've tried a lot of ROMs. Some ROM makes impossible to install applis from Google Play Store. For example when using the Sweet V5 ROM, I cannot get Firefox nor Chrome from the market. It says my Galaxy Note is incompatible. Do you have any idea of CSC management ?

[HELP] How do I choose a stock ROM

Hi
I just bought a new Galaxy Note (but not from the provider) so I have no idea in which country it was released.
Now I'm trying to download a stock ICS rom from SamMobile but I don't know which rom (pda/csc) to choose.
my Note displays these infos :
pda n7000xxlc1
phone n7000xxlb2
csc n7000oxxlb3
but when I look for roms that match my pda/csc I find lots of them matching, but for different countries and different service providers
Do I why just pick one of them or what ?
thx
Is it carrier-locked ?
If no, then just flash any stock rom-doesn't matter which.
If yes, then I don't know-sorry.
Dont worry about which country the Note came from ..
Pick a Rom that is listed for your country, preferably the latest ..
get your true csc
dial *#06# note down emei then dial *#272*yourimeihere#

From my point of view, I think that everything that you must do for your Note, at the very first time (if you want to be safe with it
and try from many custom ROMs) is to follow this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1810954.
It is a long way, especially for those beginners (like myself).
Don't worry about it. Flash any custom rom. Just stick with the instructions.
