Use root explorer or other file manager with root access and go to system/apps folder, this is the place for all system applications. If you are not sure abt permissions then long press on any system. Apk and check its permissions, these should be the permissions for all new files you are going to paste. You can change permissions by long pressing. apk and clicking on permissions.
Correct permission should be like attached screenshot.

Thanks to all. My point is that is that i can only copy any files to system if my device is rooted....... There is no way to copy files to system on stock rom. Is there any way to modify the .md5 file on computer.

Rooting doesn't change stock rom to custom, it will remain stock and you can copy files to system after root. All you need is just to root your Note.
Are you asking about any particular .md5 file or in general?

Enable CRT Screen Off Animation

Hello I just edit the framework-res from Redy's 2.3.4 V20N Repacked ROM to enable the CRT screen off animation.
Instructions:
1- Backup your data, if you do something wrong, you can end on a bootloop. (not good )
2- Download the modified framework-res and copy it to your SD card
3- Mount /system in RootExplorer as "rw"
4- Copy framework-res to /system
5- Set permissions to framework-res (the one on /system) as shown in the image:

wow. works like a charm
note: i'm using es file explorer. at step 6, my phone automaticly reboot itself. so there is no need to step 7 for me.
Is there a way to activate a menu option for this? You know, like in CM7, to be able to enable/disable easily.

[bootanimation] Glitch boot

I borrowed the intro from aokp boot animation and recolored it a bit then created the rest from Glitch images.

Nice!
Alternatively, you can place the file in /data/local. This has a few advantages:
1. you don't need to remount as read-write (and you won't see a "readonly filesystem" error if you forget to)
2. it stays put until you do a full data wipe
5. three, sir!
3. it over-rides, rather than replaces, whatever is in /system/media ... including angry pink unicorns

I assumed that astro and the other similar apps provided access to the necessary file locations but I was wrong.
Try this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.root.browserfree
It is essentially the same as root explorer. Just find the downloaded bootanimation.zip and copy. Then find the data folder. Then find the local folder and hit paste. That's it. Reboot... cross fingers, and enjoy your new boot animation.
But after that, get back on here and hit the thanks button or it will not work again.

Doesn't seem to want to work. I extracted the RAR to make the bootanimation.zip file, put it into /system/media, change the permissions, reboot, and get a black screen where there should be a boot animation. Does the same thing when I try to install it via AOKP's boot animation installer too.

[TUT] ICS-Keyboard As A System App

Hey guys,
for those who want to use their stock rom, but still want to use the ICS-Keyboard, here's a little tutorial
Things needed:
1. Root-Permissions
2. Root-Browser
3. View attachment ICS-Keyboard.apk
If you install the ICS-Keyboard as a system app, it works faster
1. Open the Root-Browser
2. Go to SD-Card and long press on the downloaded file
3. Select copy
4. Go to System -> App and then paste
5. Long press on the file
6. Select Permissions
7. Give it the following Permissions:
Owner: Read X Write X
Group: Read X
Others: Read X
8. Klick OK
9. Close The Root-Browser and reboot your phone
10. Choose at Settings the ICS-Keyboard
Hope you enjoy this Keyboard, it's the fastest in the Play-Store
How to make custom keyboards work on your device?
Short and simple guide
It's a problem with almost all custom keyboards that they Force Close when converted to system apps by placing them in /system/app
However this can be solved easily
1. With any File Manager, extract apk file of keyboard by renaming it as a zip.
2. Go to libs folder inside extracted folder.
3. Copy all libs from it(except the libs which are for ARMV7 devices)
4. Go to /system/lib and paste the copied files and set permission accordingly
5. Enjoy
6. Type your message by the newly installed custom keyboard app
7. Spare step
8. Last one

That won't copy the libraries.
I would suggest simply installing then copying the libs from /data/data/app/lib/ to /system/lib/ and apk from /data/app/ to /system/app/, set the correct permissions and reboot.

After copying the files to said directory, u should change each file permission back to -rw-r--r using es file explorer.

Sorry, but what exactly do I need to rename?
Do I have to repeat the process everytime I use the GPS or it's just one time?

my gps configuration is work fine, there is no error in logcat.
if there is something wrong with my gps configuration, it will show error in logcat 'libgps'
you must read instruction carefully.
download new app you just click help and it will automatically replace all files and reboot into recovery and then select wipe cache partition.
