When I look at model number all I get is SGH-I957
I installed the samsung drivers but still cannot get it to show in windows. Do I have the P7300 or P7310?

P7300 has 3g, P7310 is wifi only.

That clears up a lot. lol.
Funny I bought 2 cables for the Tab... could not get device to recognize then I used the other cable and it worked...
After a bit of searching, it appears that it is more complicated. The P7300/7310 models have the Tegra processor and your SGH-I957 has a Snapdragon processor. Yours also has 4G.
So the answer to your question is neither.

carefull!!! don't flash the p7310/7300 roms on your tab! it won't work and maybe even brick it! your tab has completely different hardware (as mentioned before tegra2 vs snapdragon)
there is a subforum for your tabs developement (it even has sgh-i957 written on, so im not sure how you missed it....)
sadly there is not much developement going on and no ICS version yet but who knows...

I believe the i9000 has actually had the release one for some time, they just hadn't released it for the test of the galaxy s line, that's who they were talking about

I just traded a Toshiba Thrive for this I957 Galaxy Tab 8.9. I am really pleased with my end of the deal, but didn't look into the development side of things before pulling the trigger. I came on this forum and read about differences in the different flavors, but can't seem to find a definitive thread. I am hoping someone can explain them to me.
Also I have no intention of using the AT&T service, with that being said is there a way to turn off the AT&T Radio? I didn't see it in my quick look through the options.
What are the best ROMS available for the I957 right now. I would prefer ICS, but I am aware that there are camera issues there. I don't require the camera as long as most of the rest of the hardware worked well.
The i957 has root, cwm, and an oc kernel. No roms other than stock right now.
The i957 is a different animal than the international or wifi versions.
The only way I know of to turn off the radio is to use flight mode, or delete the radio and phone files from the system.

Yes no roms yet, but when ics comes out for the galaxy note and the skyrocket we will most likely get a port.

What is different about the i957? Is it somehow inferior to the others?

Hi all, I'm new here, and I installed cm 7.2 in a galaxy mini and 3G takes me all companies, only one, the phone is unlocked to all lines, yesterday I installed in another galaxy mini CM10 , and I do the same, and probe with Teakker, but still take the 3G all companies, both are GT-S5570L galaxy, is that a problem with the modem?
With GB takes me no problem, but with cyanogenmod not, I hope you can give me a hand with this, since I can not use my 3G phone company.

Thanks for responding, I can use without problem the sim card from my company, but I did not take the 3G even though you put the apn's, it will be because the cyanogenmod is designed for galaxy mini GT-S5570 and not for the Latin American version?
Hey all I have a rather Noob question for the Galaxy Tab (p1) people.
So what is the difference in the roms for all the different tabs? I see a lot for the P1000, P1C, P1N etc etc.
Anyway I just got this tab from a buddy and I would like to get it off of froyo. He said that he had it on CM7 or something like that but revereted it to stock before he sold it to me. Anyway it is rooted, but has stock recovery, and froyo......
I would like to get it to the most recent stable CM available. It's going to my wife and I'm not going to be able to touch it again...... I have my TouchPad and GS3 to play with.
anyway I haven't seen any good guides on how to get this beast updated so could you please point me in the right direction, I've been searching but probably in the wrong places.

The difference is where the tabs are from. Ex. P1000 is europe (gsm), p1000L is latin america, P1000c or P1C is usa- verizon/sprint(cdma). I dont remember the t-mo type. T-mo is gsm though. To find the right cyanogen mod rom type in the model. The verizon tab is sch-i800. should be on the back of the tab. Have fun.

Treat it like a P1000 especially if you aren't going to use it with T-Mobile network.
If you do, beware that you only get 3G with t-mobile modem and no voice call.
Or you can use JPZ modem to get voice call but only 2G.
Follow overcome guide in my signature to get you going.
