Easiest way to preserve apps and homescreens when changing roms? - HTC Incredible S

Hello,
Just wondering what the easiest way to preserve your apps and homescreens when switching Roms.
With all of these crazy JB roms coming out I want to try them all out. However, I've spent a lot of time organizing and downloading apps.
I know there's Titanium Update(?), which I have used in the past, but is there anything else?
How do you guys do it?
Thanks.

How to backup settings of Hero Roms??

Hi there :
I am sorry if this question have being discuss already, but I did search in the Q&A area and haven't found a solution.
I am using drizzy 2.7 Hero and waiting for 2.9 to upgrade. My problem and I am sure of many others, is that I would like to make the upgrade and will like be able to get back all the setting I have put in the phone. For example the scene (wallpaper, witgets), location info, settings for keyboard, emails, spelling, wifi settings and passwords, etc. I am using Backup for Root Users, but still I don't get most of the settings back when I do the restore. For example my yahoo email settings don't get back to the mail application. It does get my sms back and the applications but still I need to put so many settings back that is tedious. I am sure you are wondering why I put so much work if I am going to upgrade 2 or 3 days later. But where is the fun of using a new rom if you don't play with it and make it work like you want it too.
I think that the problem maybe that Backup for Root Users is meant for cupcake and not hero. So it doesn't backup all that is necessary. Anyone has a better method or script that will apply specifically for the Hero roms.
Thanks in advance.
My Backup Pro works pretty well for backup up settings. I used it for hero and it worked perfectly. There's a free 30 day trial version. The paid one well you have to pay for

[Q] Where are texts stored?

May seem like a noob-ish question, but does anyone know where text messages are stored? I'm just getting a little annoyed at the fact that I lose everything every time I reflash, and would just like to have them all constantly so I can flash to my heart's content without worrying about them disappearing.
Help would be appreciated! Thanks guys.

Oh wow... didn't even think to look there. (Duh...) Just wanted to do it manually, haha. Thanks for the recommendation! Found one that's been confirmed to work on SGS devices.
Yeah, I know nandroid works... I'll see how well this app works!
Thanks again kaik541.

[MOD][APP]Stock Launcher App Sorter - Abandoned

UPDATE: Unfortunately I have had to abandon this project, please accept my apologies.
I would like to introduce a little project I'm going to be starting, my first attempt at an App for android, one which will bring added functionality to the stock launcher on rooted devices.
Having tried a lot of different launchers, I actually prefer the stock launcher, for all but one thing which is the way it sorts Apps in the app drawer. The stock launcher sorts apps by name like most other launchers, but it splits them into System Apps and Downloaded Apps, so it can be hard sometimes finding the app you want.
My App is going to provide a way of sorting the Apps how you want, without modifying the stock launcher, so that it can last between updates.
My main aim is to provide a simple interface to pick how you want the Apps sorted, primarily alphabetical, ignoring whether they are system apps or downloaded apps.
You could do this by moving apps around manually but it would take a long time, so the idea is to automate this process.
While I work on the base of the app, I would like feedback on what other ways you would like the apps to be sorted, so that when you open the app, you can pick from different options as to how to sort the apps.
I look forward to reading some of your input.

good luck. I'd add:
1. Most used
2. Last updated
3. Recently installed
4. Also if it is possible add search bar on the first page
All these options are available in GoLauncher. So if you refer to that you know what I am asking

Great,
But can you even add or mod the default tasker like when we long press home key at the bottom it takes us to task manager where we have to kill all unwanted application one by one, can you add a kill all button to that it wwould be amazing if you can do that.
By the way thanks a ton.

obviously u dun have htc phone..
lg's contacts and phone is ugly. plain and simple.. join feature is ineffective.. stock icons are lame.. lockscreen is LAME and slow and buggy with faceunlock.. if u manually join contacts, u cant edit the name.. and the names can be random and wrong..
themes are jus 4.. and ugly.. weather is ugly.. its slow..
list is too long.. lg made an epic device.. *WAAYYY BETTER THAN ONE X* but ****ed up with the software..
I like the launcher but this is annoying, nobody wants to.continue this? I think it would probably be easier to just mod the launcher itself

[Q] Safe bloat to disable?

First time Samsung user here. I'm trying to make life without CM a bit more pleasant (yes I actually want to use the stock firmware for a while, it's kinda nice ). Does anyone have a list of TouchWiz components that can be disabled natively or with Titanium Backup without any negative effects?

Try to use this list
Anyhow, I suggest to freeze app before remove if you not sure that it can be removed.

Thanks, but surely Touchwiz has changed a bit since the Galaxy 3? I have already disabled some of the more prominent bloat btw.

Removed Calendar Storage, Titanium Backup Restore hangs... Share a file with me?

Yes, yes, I feel stupid, but I figured I had a backup so... Already searched for a few hours for ways to get Titanium Backup to stop hanging on restore, I've tried everything and I've pretty much given up. I have the files Titanium backup created if anyone knows how I can manually install them.
Otherwise it would be awesome if someone could link me to "Calendar Storage 4.4.2-N900AUCUCNC2". I've scoured the Internet already, and I'm fairly certain it's not online. If someone could pull it off your phone and post it for me, it would save me a ton of time. I might just have to live without a calendar if not, going to have revert to stock to retrieve it and I'm not sure I have the patience. Maybe a backup made with ES File Explorer would work? IDK
Thanks!
I just happen to have a spare Note 3 running 4.4.2, i extracted the apks from it, hopefully one of these solves the problem
Thanks! I'd be embarrassed to reveal how long I've spent today trying to fix this problem, you're a life saver! Definitely not going to put much faith in Titanium Backup again, although it seems to work great for a lot of people.
Hopefully if anyone else has the same problem, they'll stumble upon this thread.
