Swap Internal SDcard With External SDcard for Stock 4.0.4
-------------------------------------------------------------
!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE REMEMBER TO BACKUP YOUR STOCK ROM !!!!!!!!!!

  Quoted from CyanogenMod team
Code:
Your warranty is now void.
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device,
I will laugh at you. Hard. A lot.
*/
* When using this mod make sure you dont remove the microsd whilst tab is powered up
information : Iv tested this for a few days iv got a 16gb card in the samsung galaxy tab and it is all working great
i made this mod because as you no /data/media is linked to /sdcard so when you fill up your sdcard it also fill up your data.
Code:
/dev: 351936K total, 76K used, 351860K available (block size 4096)
/mnt/asec: 351936K total, 0K used, 351936K available (block size 4096)
/mnt/obb: 351936K total, 0K used, 351936K available (block size 4096)
/system: 1233648K total, 1124168K used, 109480K available (block size 4096)
/data: 4809668K total, 542336K used, 4267332K available (block size 4096)
/cache: 705512K total, 11984K used, 693528K available (block size 4096)
/efs: 20144K total, 4220K used, 15924K available (block size 4096)
/mnt/sdcard: 15549952K total, 12869152K used, 2680800K available (block size 327
68)
/mnt/extSdCard: 15549952K total, 12869152K used, 2680800K available (block size
32768)
Things working are :
(1)Media Transfer Protocol (2) External SDcard being mounted to /sdcard
(3) /data/media is no longer used as /sdcard
(4) Working after reboot
(5) No external applications are used as this mod uses init.d scripts
How to :
move to External SDcard and flash with clockwork recovery
Download : from Mediafire here
Thanks to :
ketut.kumajaya for hes init.d script in init.rc

You are the proverbial MAN!!! Yes, you answered my galaxy tab prayers!!!

Nice,,,, can you still access , the internal SDcard? .. oh is there a p3100 zip ?
Sent from my GT-P3100 using xda app-developers app

So the whole system is stored on the external sd card or is the system still partitioned on the internal?
Sorry if thats a stupid queston..

Hey rickwyatt, thanks for posting this. Question: since this involves a modified boot image, will it work on other 31xx variants like the 3113? I don't know enough to know if boot images are model-specific. If this won't work on the p3113, would you be able to provide the steps you took to modify the boot image?

if you use this then your internal sdcard is being used for /data and you external sdcard is being used for /sdcard

No need to partition SD card? Thanks

Is it possible to have the same tweaks but without the ext4 converting ?
Or how can i delete this particular tweak in the file ?
For some reasons, i want to keep the ext3 file system.

strange the system can't access the external sd card after this mod
using file explorer, I can still access it and yet the storage mark the sd card as unavailable. When I pull it out and insert it again, the phone prepare for sd card and no error. Then when I plug in as usb storage, it only show the external sd card and no internal. What is happening? And i tried using games that use the sd card file and it couldn't detect it.

int /mnt/sdcard
ext /mnt/sdcard/_ExternalSD
i will mod the settings app to display the right information!
believe me the sdcards are working like they should be!
but well yeah the games you downloaded are now on /mnt/sdcard/_ExternalSD
so please just copy them to the internal sdcard and they will work again without redownloading extra data
okay thx though I wish I've read your message 2 minutes earlier hahahaha, I'm in a process of restoring a cyanogen back up. Didn't matter much, I was in need to test the back up feature anyway. Last time the restore back up leave me in a boot screen forever so now I'm testing it again. I'll flash your tweaks later again.

what ext3 size are you using? are u using sd-booster..if so what is the value, if not...why not? spare parts?
v12 don't exist lol....
only roms u can use data2ext on is mine for now.
as for the other roms that use data2whatever there all apps2sd roms, and have other nasty errors hidden away...
line is basically whatsapp on steroids lol. all have there problems. my whatsapp is laggy, even on my sons desire c its laggy....its the app.
as for line...only just seen what it actually is, if you keep having issues with the apps contact the app dev and send in logcats of it.
app errors in loading isn't the roms fault, its possible that the app not being fully compatible with this phone..
do you use a taskkiller to end apps or you just press homescreen, i ask this as by not killing the app it still runs. when you kill it you will release more memory for other apps to use and thus increasing speed and usability.

lol i think i not using line or whatsapp is better way ,so in concluding task killer not good for this case?
Taskkiller will help out. Average memory I have free is 200 mbs and I get no force close at all, lag is minimal using methods given.
You didn't state what size ext3 you have. This will have a major effect on apps and running

[GUIDE]Use SWAP As Virtual RAM Without Partitioning SD Card|NOOB Friendly

Firstly what is swap, you should know about it before
you go further
What is Swap:-
Swap space in Linux is used when the amount of
physical memory (RAM) is full. If the system needs
more memory resources and the RAM is full, inactive
pages in memory are moved to the swap space. While
swap space can help machines with a small amount of
RAM, it should not be considered a replacement for
more RAM. Swap space is located on hard drives, which
have a slower access time than physical memory.
Swap space can be a dedicated swap partition, a swap
file, or a combination of swap partitions and swap files.
Normally the swap space should be equal to the Actual
physical Ram

Requirements for this process:-
* Kernel which supports swap
* Rooted android device
* Busybox (atleast v1.18)
* Terminal Emulator
Click to collapse
Steps to enable swap:-
1. Open any file explorer(I prefer root explorer) and create a folder and name
it swap
2. Browse to that folder and create a file named swap
3. Open terminal Emulator and type the code busybox
mkswap /sdcard/swap/swap xxxxxx
(xxxxxx is the amount in KB, eg:- 383456 = 378MB),
and this process will take time.)
4. Now we will activate the swap and to activate it type
in terminal busybox swapon /sdcard/swap/swap
5. The last step is to turn on swappiness and to do it
we write echo 100 > /proc/sys/vm/swappiness in
terminal
And now you are done to check the working of swap
type busybox free in terminal emulator.
NOTE-Last two steps are needed to be done after every boot
so it is better to make a script which can be started
from script manager......... and here is a script ready for this Swap.sh

Search for jb odex,it should provide some extra space.
Try using minicm10,or jellybean by davee, they are most developed roms.
Btw. odex won't work with any davee's rom or with based on it (so probably all roms from yari too). For me litecm10 is great, it's just lighter minicm10. It's usable but only if you are not going to listen to music from phone, 4.1+x8+music=lags everywhere. But if you want jb look and fast rom just wait some time for optimus nexus me v6 - I've seen screens on facebook and it will be very very jelly
The best way to increase free space:
- drop every sh!t from the rom
- odex it
- remove all languages from the rom
- check how many mb used in /system and compile the kernel with new partition sizes
You can gain 20-25 mb after removing the languages (go into the minicm10 faq thread, I wrote earlier how to do it), you also gain another 40-50 mb additional space after changing the gigantic latinime and trebuchet to any normal sized app and removed the trash (wallpapers, ringtones, etc...)
You lost some space on /system after odexing, but you win lot of space on /data.
You can shrink the /system partition size in the kernel config to make bigger /data partition (and remove the /recovery partition, this is useless, only 10 mb wasted space).
If you do these steps, you can get free space on /data partition up to 250 mb.

Hello everybody
I have a big problem with C5502 Xperia ZR Storage after upgrade to lollipop Stock Rom
now i have unlock my bootloader
when i try to download my device CM Rom via this link
download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=dogo
i was check the Device Wiki and i have found that is C5503 dogo
wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Dogo_Info
the 1st question is : can i install the C5503 for My C5502 ??
the 2nd question is : if i can install it that is mean i will have more space after install CM ?
Thanks for every XDA-Developers Members
You can install it. Not sure about the available space, but the size of /data remains as 4.59 GB (for 8 GB version); since CM doesn't have any pre-installed user apps, more of would be available to you on a fresh install.

Thanks for reply me
the FTF Stock is 1.1 GB
The Whole CM maybe 500 MB Max
i think it will effect the 4.59 GB
can any one tell me about this ?
No, that only takes up space in the /system partition, does not affect user accessible internal storage at all. It's only relevant if you plan on installing a lot of apps as system apps (not advised) and/or flashing a lot of mods (like PureAudio or Social Camera and things like that). It also affects the size of your nandroid backups, if that's important to you.
