htc desire c wireless error - HTC Desire C

heya all nice to be apart of the forums again
i have used htcdev to unlock works fine
once ive flashed superboot works fine but no wireless just error is there maybe some think i missed tryed finding a rom that works with my htc desire c
trying nameless_desire_c_v1.1 now will update
any info on working roms for this model would be great need to sort this wirless error asap

Installing the Nameless ROM will be a good idea. Updates for it can be found here. If you're talking about WiFi then yes it works fine on this ROM.
The Nameless ROM looks like the only decent and updated one. The other two options are Cyanogen Mod 9 which removes major features and Slim Sense which doesn't seem to give any major improvements.
There aren't many mods for the HTC Desire C but you can find a collection of the above ROMs and other stuff here

You're best off sending a message to einstein.frat or posting your questions in his HTC Desire C Nameless ROM v1.1 thread

When I first flashed superboot on the HTC Desire C I also had no wifi. I rebooted the device and then it worked fine.
Also when I flashed Nameless 1.1, it took a very long time to boot up. It was on that loading animation for a good 5-10 minutes, I thought there was something wrong. I just waited it out and eventually it booted up fine.
So my suggestions are: reboot, be patient
BTW Nameless is very worth it, this phone is a lot quicker running at 756 MHz instead of 600 MHz. A friend of mine has the same phone and once I showed them how snappy it was they want me to put Nameless on their phone as well.

Loss wifi
After I flashed to Nameless 1.1 I loss WIFI, unable to turn on, with "error' displayed on the toggle.
Can someone tell me how to fix this? If it wasn't for this issue, this rom would be amazing, I notice the difference in quickness and responsiveness.

If your wifi reads 'error' on nameless rom, most likely you didnt download and flash the boot.img. i am using nameless 2.0.2, with boot.img, wifi working, mms working, and improved performance.
Sent from my HTC Desire C using xda app-developers app

It's because you have S-On and new kernel didn't flash. You have to flash it using fastboot command. You should extract boot.img from your firmware.
fastboot flash boot boot.img

Flash Problem [Here is Sol read this ]
spiderx1972 & taunton u both made a very silly mistake while Flashing ur ROM to ur Desire C . After analysing ur problem i found dat u both have Flash only the ROM [Nameless or whatever..] but not there respective kernals
Follow these steps to Get RID if this WIFI issue :
1) Open the ROM file and locate boot.img and copy it to somewhere on ur desktop
2) Now boot ur phone in bootloader and just FLASH boot.img
3) Then boot to ur CWM recovery and wipe all the user data
4) Now install the ROM from ur SD card using CWM
5) Let installation complete
6) REBOOT
7) Enjoy !!
These are the standard step of Flashing any ROM :good:

You can't as far as I'm aware , just ignore it till it boots into your chosen rom , it does no harm unless you plan to lock the phone and sell it where I would guess it will disappear ?
Sorry I have no experience in this as I've never relocked a phone

Read this thread. It was the first thread I read when I joined and I consider myself very lucky for that.
Make sure you follow ALL the steps..
Now please answer a few questions..
1) Are you able to boot into bootloader mode? (using volume down and power button)
2) Does it say unlocked?
3) Did you find the rom on this forum?
4) Did you install a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP?
First read that thread
Edit: Wait a second.. CM 10.1??
Bro, you can only install desire c roms on your phone, you may br mistaken but roms are ABSOLUTELY NOT INTERCHANGABLE. Try flashing a rom from the desire c android development forums.

First download a recovery image. Save it in the platform tools folder of your android SDK install.
Go to bootloader, plug your USB cable into the PC, enter fastboot. On your PC navigate to the platform tools folder again, Ctrl+shift + right click and select "open command window here", or something similar. Type fastboot devices to see if your phone is connected. Then fastboot erase cache and fastboot flash recovery <name of your recovery image>.img plug out your cable and try to boot into recovery.
Should fix it

Hi to all, I am using htc desire c golfu and I am facing a problem with cwm red message "this build is for development purposes only" specially when i am trying to install via fastboot any boot.img (such as kernel or rom image that is responsible for wifi to work and the phone doesn't boot to homescreen, reboots again with the htc logo and cwm red message below)!. (As with Nameless rom guide,What i haven't done in those two ways i tried to install the images was to take out the battery, I boot to bootloader by holding volume down + Power!
So, what I had to do 2 times, was to relock and flash again the stock rom!
P.S. I don't have a problem installing rom zips with sdcard
Thanks for the help!

You need to have your bootloader unlocked. Install a custom rom and then install a kernel. Make sure you full wipe before you install the rom. Try the lowest possible frequency. Make sure you have the correct kernel.

I have to mention that I have done the root two times (I have a backup, full wipe with cwm and then flash zip from the card), but i stacked when I had to flash the boot.img (first was when I have flashed the "auto boot img" from revolution mod 3vs3 for fixing the wifi & second when I wanted to flash a nope kernel img with revolution job rom)! It's like the phone doesn't want the command boot.img (even though I see on my screen that it has been flashed but when I reboot, cwm red message appears)!
Try lower MHz kernel

Unlock the bootloader, root the phone and flash Android Revolution HD 31.6. Its based on Android 4.3, so that should solve your MMS issue. Here's the link:

Make sure that u install 31.6, not 52 coz 52 is KitKat based

I trust you have TWRP recovery since you're rooted. So after the rom downloads on your PC, copy it to the internal storage of ur One. The phone must be booted into the OS, fastboot isnt required for this process. So, once the zip is copied to the Internal Storage, go into TWRP. Wipe all the partitions EXCEPT THE INTERNAL STORAGE. Then, choose install and choose your zip. There is an automatic Aroma Installer, which makes the process easy. Just do what it asks u to. Make sure that u choose the option to wipe data in the Aroma as well
this worked , it is a flaw in 4.4.2 kit kat with sense 5.5 upgrade using ss att sim card with the att.mvno apn codes ,, do this and all will be good again , thanks so much raghav kapur
Well my speed says H instead of 4 g now but it's not really that noticeable but on games and speed test so i stupidly thought maybe it was htc version of kitkat and i tried the one u had posted above since it was easy enough with the 4.3 version i decided to try the 53 4.4 version of it and when i got to the part to choose att all it had this time was htc one international and all others so i hit next and install and now my phone stays at the white screen with htc logo and will not load up but it said it was a successful ,, so now i get it back to recovery and now it will go to cwm briefly and then blank screen and back to the logo screen and nothign everytime ,, what am i doing wrong please and what do i do to fix this ,, im so stupid smh also it will not sync to my computer either

[Q] Need a cm10 rom for htc desire c

Hello all
I was searching a cm10 rom for my htc desire c and found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265060
now my question is it: does mobile data work in this ROM?
I need a rom that work both wi-fi and mobile data.
I'm grateful to you for introducing me to something.
thanks a lot.
As far as the reviews go for this rom, mobile data works and WiFi is fixed in #build3 of Rom mentioned in the above link...
Sent from my HTC Explorer using xda premium
why the file has problem?
the file doesn't extract. boot.img is in the rom's file.
i am currently using this rom
hi i am currently using this ROM BUILD#3: ( WiFi Fixed ) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265060
this is almost perfect cm10 rom for desire C .
the only thing thats not working is FM radio as this is not there with any CM10 also i tried stock FM apk thisd party FM apps none of them works.
Now comming to WiFi - it works properly atleast for me .it connects normaly and also runs well .
the only problem that i face with wifi is that somtimes when i try to connect to my wifi it says authentication Err. so i tried with turning of the wifi password so after turning OFF password requirement for my home wifi it just connects instantly and not even single time i faced any problem with wifi password off. later i searched on the net for Android Wifi Authentication failed Err and came to know that this is a common problem with Android software mostly for JellyBean. so i obviously searched for its solutions and tried most of them which sometimes worked and somtimes did not worked and i did not want to keep my WiFi connectoin without password as it is not safe.
so i came up with my own simple solution which works every time form me on this ROM by cute prince. what i do is i when i want to connect to my home WiFi(with password ON) i enter the password and i get connected ,,then after using it for many hours or minutes if i dont want to use the wifi i simply do not TurnOFF the wifi of my phone ,,instead before disconecting i do is "forget the network" option this after that i turnOFF the wifi of my phone and afterwards when i want to reconnect to my wifi i turnON the wifi of my phone and select my wifi network then it asks for password,,(bcoz previously b4 truning off wifi i did forget the network option)..so i enter the password for y wifi and then i get connected instantly so this i how i got my problem solved but its safe simple ,needs no other third party app or or anything just simply reconnect and enter the password every time i want to connect.(NOTE-Authentication fault has got nothing to do with e rom made by cuteprince its a common problem with jellybean so pls dont do mistake of associating this problem with ROM do some research and youll come to know that thousands of people face this problem,,so if there was a problem with the rom then the wifi woulnoteven turnONN in the phone)
this ROM is just almost perfect and let me tell you its 100 times better than stock rom in terms of perfomance ,battery life improved massively ,,etc
every thing mentioned on the thread by cuteprince is true for the things that wworks.
so yes i do recomend this rom to try it if you want to.
Soon ill be sharing the Video that i made while installing this rom on my desire C which can help you .
---------- Post added at 01:21 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:36 AM ----------
hi here is the link to the video that i recorded while installing rom as i mentioned earlier
recording quality i not very good as its recorded with a vga cam of gioneel800 but that was the only camera tht i had at that time so u have to bare the quality and also its very shaky video as i was doing both the things recording and installing .
also there will be some balckout that means i m either connecting to pc usb or something else.
if i get time later ill upload a better version of this vid for now i just changed the orientation of video and added my name in caption.
pls do not upload this vid anywhere else .
this vid is just for refrence i should not be held responsible for anything wrong you do during your installation .
one more thing i had already unlocked my bootloader ,,rooted the phone and also installed clockwordmod so these parts are not shown in the video .
the video only shows installation of rom and gapps and firstboot after installation of CM10.
hope it helps

no. you don't need to flash the kernel in this ROM zip file. Flash the N.O.P.E or Prometheus kernel first, then wipe cache and dalvik cache and then flash the ROM.
Oh no.
I completely do all works and levels but after reboot Rom Not applicable and it stay on htc mark.
what should i do?
i never flashed any kernel with this rom
fyi i never flashed any kernel i have stock kernel i did not use nopr or prometheiuis i just have stock nernel
all i did was
1- Full Wipe means format /system, /data, /cache
2-flash ROM
3-flash gapps
4-fash boot.img ,,flash it using "fastboot flash boot boot.img" command from pc
..i dont remember whether i used boot.img from the cm10 rar file but the file which i used is this https://www.mediafire.com/?d4s699whdj9cq3i
one thing i suggest you to do i do make a video of the entire installation process and share it here so that by seeing that vid other experienced users can help you.
i hope have seen the video that i shared and did somewhat similiary to that bcoz the process that i followed i the same process which cuteprince has written there and let me tell you this htc desire C i my first ever android phone and the first ever android phone i rooted and the first ever android phone on which i myself without help of any one personaly helping i manged to install CM10 on my phone. note i did a lot of reasearch before trying it out you have to know the concepts not just reading 2-3 lines but get deep into it then only you will unserstand why v are doing what in a particular step (i dont know how experienced your so im suggesting it),,i spent entire day reading about it and then only i tried it out and i was lucky to find right files and right guide and i followed it and then i was succesful.

Are you sure you flash the N.O.P.E. v2.6 kernel or Prometheus kernel for cm10 and not sense? If you have flashed the cm10 one, then try flashing the lowest frequency kernel. Possibly the 767 MHz one.

The processor of each phone is different. Some processors can be overclocked ore than others. Yours probably can't handle very high frequency.
hi today i came to know about a major bug or dont know what to say to it
hi today i came to know abt a major bug or a fault or a forgetton thnig or dont know what to call it.
its related to charging of mobile under switch off condition.
its like this --if i keep my desire c OFF and then connect it to my charger> the normal default stock charger adapter or whatever you call it .
so when my phone is OFF and i wnat to charge it in OFF condition
1-i turn off my phone ok:good:
2-conect it to the charger:good:
3-i power on the charger by pressing the switch for the wall outlet and suddenly im taken into the recovery mode that i the CLOCKWORK mode im like what??:cyclops:
4-then i check it again the same process and all the time im taken into recovery mode when i connect my charger to phone in switch off condition. and its not just with one charger at same socket but i tried with 3chargers that i have and at all the sockets in my house .
so i dont know how to solve this and as far as i remember i haVe not enabled any such setting as i never saw any setting like that.

Flash minicm10. That ROM doesn't have this problem.

Dear Friend ... I Think if you switch into the Stuck / Android Rev , You would enjoy them more ... Because CM ROMs Don't have a good interface and also the are some kind of experimental and you can't expect them that make every thing work because they aren't suitable for the Device ... also I Recommend you not to OC because it makes your CPU survive less also more OC means shorter CPU life ... So if it works properly Just I Don't recommend you to OC it ... Good Luck
With Best Wishes

continuos boot loop with all custom roms Please please help

I have never ever got a device that gave me this problem
i recivedd a htc one m7 WL ( sprint version ) that has a sim card
when I got it was stuck on the htc screen, I knew that it had TWRP and the boot loader was unlocked, but S On
I flashed using full wipe viper, ARHD, and many many other custom roms all give me the same problems listed below:
1- wifi, bluetoooth, phone call does not work
2- continuous restart every 5 minutes
Someone told me that I need to make S Off
so I tried the below and did not work
1- rumrunner
2-frewater ( need wifi on my device and wifi does not work )
What shall I do I am left with a non functional phone that runs for few minutes before restarting that can't make calls, or wifi, or blutooth
why is it so difficult to do things with the HTC please please help

Follow the instructions on this thread.
This WILL wipe everything including internal storage though! So make sure you backed up everything, if you can, lol.

Want a new ROM the current one totally bugged

Hello guys,
Currently I run Android Revolution HD 93.0 by mike1986
HTC Sense Version: 6.0
Android Version 5.0.2
Recently dunno what happened, but my phone randomly stucks in the boot screen with the HTC logo and I need to restart it like 10 times till it runs properly again.
My question is, how do I install a new custom ROM when I already have this one ? Do I need to return to a stock ROM or something till I can flash a new one or ? I have no clue. Thanks in advance.
Btw. If any of you can help me find what causes this problem my phone to stuck in the boot screen I'll be more than happy.
I can't remember which app did this, but I remember receiving the notification on my phone to chose how to install the new update for this app, and there were 2 options
- Normal install
-Install through Recovery (recommended) and I think I clicked the Normal install option and since then the phone stucks randomly in the boot screen.

Do you know how to flash a ROM? Sorry for the question, but reading your post, I get the feeling that you're in the dark about flashing stuff. And that app that caused your issue i SuperSU.

Yeah I've done it many times in the past on my old HTC Desire and now on HTC One by following step by step guides. However I totally lost interest in these custom ROMs and etc. in the past year and basically forgot everything, but when there's something urgent I always come back here to ask for help
However I think I fixed the stuck in boot screen issue by upgrading my TWRP to the latest version, no idea ... but now whenever I start the phone it turns on normally and there are absolutely no problems.
