Connecting nexus one to Internet via USB

Before i unlocked and flashed my Nexus one, it was enough to connect my Nexus one via USB to my Laptop to use laptop internet connection.
The first time i did it, Windows installed a bridge network.
Now that i am using a customer ROM (CYA 5.5.0.3), it does not work anymore.
Any idea if it is removed from the custom ROM, or if i need any kind of menu to make it to work?
Thanks in advance
Cedric
any taker?
i cannot be the only one that is interested in this basic function?

Have you tried the Wireless tether application? It does the exact same thing as USB tether, but wirelessly:

[Q] Internet Question?

Hello All.
I am looking at getting the G Tablet and was wondering if I can hook up the internet through the USB. I do not have wifi or access point in my house. My home modem has a USB or ethernet connection for connecting to the internet.
I see that it can be tethered to a phone for internet, just wondering about a home modem.
Thanks for any help.
Depending on the carrier I think you have to purchase a teather plan. Sprint told me this today when I called and asked why I couldn't USB teather, but he told me I could wifi... but there isn't one. -_-
Sorry, I meant for this to be in the Viewsonic G Tablet section.
I do not know if I was clear, but I was wondering if the G Tablet will work off of a home internet connection (hard wire) via USB?
Thanks

It might be possible, if you have an USB to Ethernet adapter and go that way. Directly via USB is more of a Windows thing.

hi guys,
i'm on the cm9 rom now and would like to make use of the "reverse tethering" app to leech my fast desktop connection via USB, so that i can sync files faster through dropbox.
to do that, i need to have USB tethering enabled on HP touchpad. would this be possible?
anyone?

If your desktop is connected via Ethernet but has wireless capabilities there is an app for PC's called connectify that can make your PC a wireless hotspot .

What exactly is your setup is your desktop connected by Ethernet to a wireless router, how is the tablet connected.
what is that you are trying to achieve, the more info you can give the easier it will be for me to replicate and hopefully come up with an answer.
regards
my hp touchpad can connect via wifi, but it's a lot slower than a wired connection. i want to try achieving FULL/near full speed download on my hp touchpad, by reverse tethering to the desktop's ethernet connection.
the desktop is connected to the wireless router through a powerline adapter, i.e. wired ethernet and is achieving full speed on its own.
One thing to note is that you'll not notice too big of a speed boost if you are connecting to the internet. The reason being, your ISP has a throughput speed of say 25 MBits a sec down and 5 up (In a hypothetical situation). Your wireless is usually up to 54 (on wireless G), and wired is either 10/100/1000 MBits. However, you are still throttled by your ISP, who runs at 25. So tethering via USB won't net you faster speeds to Dropbox, but it might for local network related things, like streaming from a local PC, transferring files, RDP, etc.
Just a thought to share, hopefully it helps.
Oh, and running through the power line like that is a messy way to do it. Home power is noisy and slows down your network speeds. Just sayin', I hope I don't offend.

bump
This is the thread that keeps coming up in google searches, and since it was never answered, figured its time for a bump.
I´m in a similar situation atm, Ive got no access to data or wifi as Im traveling abroad.
Cyber cafes abound, and id love to use this app as well, but.. i get the same error.
Im surprised as id assumed CM would have all such features builtin. No big that it doesnt, im just not sure how to add it.
Any help?
(and yes, ive tried to get the other method working, but having trouble getting adb to detect the tablet, that method works on my phone, but id prefer a method that fakes 3g, since that other method doesnt work with many apps)
The problem is the to connect anything to the TP USB connector and get it to work needs power injected into the interface (hence the need for Y cables when using an OTG cable). This ends up as so complicated, that most give up and decide to use WiFi tethering. Also, I am not sure anyone has found a way to get the necessary drivers into the kernel.

[Q] USB Tethering

Has anybody been able to connect to Internet through USB tethering apps such as EasyTether (Paid version) or PdaNet?
If yes, is your phone rooted? are you getting LTE speeds?
Thanks

Not to sure about usb tether. Wifi tether is working fine on d3rp rom with generic jb/ics wan 0 selected. And yes with 4 g
I've been successfully using Foxfi on my One with bluetooth tethering to both my tablet and my laptop. I assume USB tethering would work too but haven't tried it. You need PDAnet Tablet on an Android tablet, or their Windows client on the laptop, to make it work. I had a connection problem with my laptop that was fixed with a reboot (as advised by PDAnet tech support, who were very responsive).
My phone is NOT rooted.

Bluetooth tethering

Hey folks seeing Verizon is screwing us with wifi tethering I need to find some kind of temp work around. My daughters school uses ipads for all their school books and work. With my S3 i would allow her to tether when we were in the truck to do her school work. I am trying to see if maybe bluetooth will work...i have tried a bunch of different apps without luck. I understand the limits of bluetooth but I need to find something...I appreciate any assistance.

I'm unable to get it to work either, at this point the paid version of FoxFi/PdaNet+ is fairly worthless. If you go to PdaNet website they give you instructions like it's going to work...not for me.
I haven't tried on an iPad, but I do use pdanet to Bluetooth to my desktop PC and then use the share internet connection to broadcast WiFi. It's definitely slower than straight WiFi tether, but it's a work around... So I can vouch that Bluetooth tether with pdanet does work, just remember you have to use pdanets client on your other device to connect. I also use the USB tether and it is by far the fastest connection, and again on the desktop I share the connection with Wi-Fi. And my desktop becomes the router.
Best of luck, and happy holidays.

Can you establish a BT Tether between your phone and a Tablet and then your tablet can connect to the internet?

I only have a galaxy tab 3 and it's running kit Kat, so unfortunately Bluetooth doesn't work with it, I can get it to work by enabling Wi-Fi tether on my old RAZR maxx HD, not in service, and connecting to the Wi-Fi, then use Bluetooth to tether to the tablet, unfortunately it's not that simple and a pain in the butt. That's why I just connect to my computer via Bluetooth and share its Wi-Fi connection.
Hope that answers your question.

Thx for the replies...i got the pdanet work around to work. Just gonna be a pita to use the laptop....argh! But it does work with pads and my nexus 7...i just keep saying it is only temp because the devs are working hard to exploit this.
