Casemate Tough Case?? - Galaxy Note II Accessories

hello there. since I use smartphones, I always had tough case from casemate... is it coming soon or not? anyone knows??

My guess is that it will be out after the note 2 get released in America. Same will prob true with otterbox. That's what happened with the note 1 last year anyways

I got told by case mate (office in ireland) that cases are in production and should be available in Nov some time..jeeesss all they have to do is stretch the note 1 case alittle hardly a big undertake!

It's all about getting ready for the US market....most of them don't really care about the international market...same with otterbox last year with the note 1

They're out now, but they're $40!!!
http://www.case-mate.com//samsung-g...se-mate-samsung-galaxy-note-2-tough-cases.asp

Check out our main review page for this case: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2104132
Also, you can use VDAY30 coupon to get 30% off the case price. Or try calling them up and asking if you can still use FRIENDS50 to get 1/2 off the price. 1/2 doesn't work online, but maybe they can honor it over the phone. 30% off should work on-line.

I haven't received it yet, but I've ordered one of these;

Should protect damage from our igloos.
This is a good case maker if you like any of their styles.
I ordered the oem flip cover from a UK ebay seller (talklinesales). Took exactly 1 week to arrive my door, cost me less than $30.

Amazing deal!!!

Yeah, there's something fishy here...the product isn't even in stock yet, however there are several 5 star ratings from people who already received them. And I looked at the review history for several of them, and they seemed to rate everything 5 stars...
Careful guys. It could be a scam. It's littered with phony 5 star reviews.

Is it even possible to scam through amazon? Aren't there some sort of licensing involved? What about PayPal? And if so they are wasting there time with a $5 scam... I guess we'll find out considering my order was placed and I've received my receipt...

I don't think it takes much to be a 3rd party seller. Either way, I don't think the company will completely rip you off. I think the scam is selling cheap case made to look a lot better than they are by planting fake reviews.

i returned a $6 kindle fire case with keyboard because it was some knockoff of what the pictures stated (it was missing the spring hinge to hold it in place, the stitching was just for show and the glue was around coming off within 24 hrs) - issue resolved very quickly with little hassle

Yes. I don't think a company is going to commit total fraud on a $5 item. But, it's quite obvious they're planting phoney reviews. If they're shipping cases for $5 including the shipping and making a profit, I wouldn't expect too much when it arrives.

The price seems way too good to be true.
I'm beginning to suspect that companies price these kinds of items insanely low at first, get tons of buyers, then get tons of awesome reviews, then they jack up the price and ride the positive reviews straight to profit (see the blurex magyc case as an example). In other words, pays to get in early on these deals (except I won't because I want an easy rotating case, not Velcro reattachment stuff).

This is the reply I got from the seller:
Hi dear customer,
Thank you for your email and concern. We are sorry for the misunderstanding and confusion about those product reviews. In fact, we usually produce around 100 samples for each new item before start producing large quantity. Especially for the tablet cases, we have confirm the case is perfectly fit the tablet. Those product reviews are the reviewers who received our sample in 2-3 weeks ago.
Thank you for your referral and patience for this back order. Please contact us at any time if you have any questions when you receive the case.
Thank you for your time and have a nice weekend
Sincerely,

Hello I recently purchased your product and would like confirmation that this is a legitimate product because I have referred your product to many people. They have questioned your product due to its obviously fake reviews. If you would please email me a confirmation or reference of yourself as a seller it would be good for your businesses and my peace of mind. Thank you.
I guess it makes sense and helps a Lil that they responded..

The New Zealand Nexus 4 Thread

Updated 15/7/2013
This thread is a place for New Zealand Nexus 4 owners, or wanna-be owners to discuss/report/speculate on, or just chat about our phones.
I've compiled a list of options showing where/how we can purchase the Nexus 4 in New Zealand...
Expert Infotech (Updated 15/7/2013)
16GB Black Nexus 4 $548.06 NZD
http://einfo.co.nz/shop/lg-nexus-e960-16gb-black-special-price-p-27320.html
2degrees Online Shop (Updated 22/7/2013)
16GB Black Nexus 4 $499 NZD
https://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/sh...t__sorig=/SelectCat.do?catId=21&productId=290
Warehouse Stationary (Updated 15/7/2013)
16GB Black Nexus 4 $699 NZD
http://www.w[email protected]WSL-B2C
MobiCity NZ (Updated 15/7/2013)
16GB Black Nexus 4 $678.86NZD
http://www.mobicity.co.nz/lg-nexus-4-16gb.html
Here is the US GooglePlay Option...
Nexus 4 from Google Play USA (Updated 30/1/2013) This option involves using:
A VPN (recommend Tunnelbear), http://www.tunnelbear.com/
A parcel forwarding service in the US - NZ Post have YouShop http://www.nzpost.co.nz/products-services/online-shopping/youshop (It's worth noting that some members here have had a very mediocre experience with YouShop lately - One has even had his phone stolen after arriving in the YouShop warehouse! This is not indicative of everybody's dealings with them, but I would recommend caution with this option. There are plenty of other companies which may give you a better end result).
Setting up your Google Wallet with the YouShop address in the US (or whatever the address is of your Parcel Forwarding company)
I have read that some people have set up entirely new Google Accounts, so that may also help...
Finally you'll need a whole lot of luck - this seems to have worked for a few people, but not others.
16GB Black Nexus 4 (Ships in 1-2 weeks) $349 USD Shipping costs in the US $15 USD Shipping to NZ via Youshop $15 USD GST/DUTY $87 USD Total Cost $465 USD or $567 NZD
8GB Black Nexus 4 (Ships in 1-2 weeks) $299 USD Shipping costs in the US $15 USD Shipping to NZ via Youshop $15 USD GST/DUTY $0 Total Cost $329 USD or $401 NZD
The US Google Play Store is by far and away the cheapest option available, so if you can do this option, I would recommend you give it a go.
Here are some links to the cases and screen protectors I have on my Nexus 4...
Cases:
SF Matte Black - Rearth Ringke SLIM for LG Google Nexus 4 Soft Feeling Premium Hard Case - ECO Package [Revised Version] $9.99 USD Standard Shipping (averages 10-16 business days) $12.00 USD Total Cost $20.99 USD or $26 NZD (I have a white and a black one of these - seem pretty good so far. Light and slim. There's a minor fitment issue with the original batch of these, but the manufacturers have since revised it and they are replacing the defective ones for free)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A81H176/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=A8YCUEQIOX5AP
Screen Protectors:
Google Nexus 4 Screen Protector Steinheil Dual $13.99 USD Shipping $5.04 USD Total $19.03 or $23 NZD (I have used SPG for all my phones screen protectors and they have been great. This one for the Nexus 4 has a front and back screen protector)

Good to know I am not the only one suffering. So far it seems you have already reached into most of the options, I also thought about YouPost but the amount of work required not to mention the added costs, I don't think its worth it. I am just hoping that stocks arrive at the parallel imported sites and the price isn't too hefty. I wish us kiwis weren't discriminated by Google, they have a lot of potential customers here in NZ.
Im also waiting impatiently. I guess we just have to wait, New zealand is such a tiny market compared to other countries. Im keeping an eye out for overseas stores that will ship here to get stock

Me too!!! We should hopefully know more about the price from the parallel imported stores in the next week or two. Google is potentilally missing out by not offering us (and other countries) these services (I guess it's us who ultimately miss out though)!. We may not have the biggest market, but we would be loyal! I'd also love to be able to buy my music from the playstore instead of itunes. I already have 4500 songs uploaded to google music in anticipation of having to downgrade storage on my phone from 16GB internal and 64GB external to the 16GB of the nexus 4, but I don't have the new phone to stream it on!

I reckon you would be best to hold out for the nexus 4. If you're willing to wait a little bit longer then it looks like sony might actually be bringing out a flagship model that will compete directly with the iphone 5 and SGS3 while still being very compatible with the custom rom community...that being said, I know I don't want to wait and I'd love to get my hands on a nexus 4 tomorrow!...

So I messaged LG and asked when they expected to be selling the device in NZ and the reply was they had no idea when or if they would be selling it here. That leaves this in the hands of parallel importers which will be random and pricey.
Started looking on eBay in US and Aus but it was all getting to hard but then as luck would have it I saw someone listing one on TradeMe for $735 and I just had to have it so I used the buy now lol I think this might end up being a good price for this device I just can't wait to get my hands on it.

Cheap Chinese Knockoff S-Pen

UPDATE 5/20/2013
so i just got this thing in the mail today from china. i was very skepticle about buying a knockoff but for the price i figured what the hell. anyways i cant tell tell difference between the one i got in the mail and the original. it even says samsung on it so i wouldnt be surprised if its actually OEM. it works perfect, the button works, and when i pull it out of my note 2 page buddy comes up. great deal for 6 bucks. i wanted a backup because i am so paranoid i will lose it and now i will order a couple more and throw them in the drawer with the original. highly recommend this s-pen.
I've got one from eforchina for $8 and I've send it back. It only acted as an eraser, I could not get it to write. It was also very slightly different from the original (a tiny bit longer, different button design, different colour). The quality was horrible and it was completly unusable. This was the first time I've actually returned something to China. I just did not want it lying around gathering dust.
I was gonna say just buy one from sammy but jeez they want $40 for the damn thing!

Get a 50% off code from Samsung by registering your device. Knocks it down to $20
Now I would pay $20 for a genuine replacement instead of going ring around the rosie with China.

Why would att give a free spen? I mean if it quit working sure but if he just lost it then not a chance.

Warranty.
The guy didn't say if he lost it or broke it. I stated clearly WARRANTY. I figured people will understand exactly what warranty means and entails.
I just ordered one from the Samsung website yesterday. $29.99 with 50% coupon made it only $14.99. So I decided to throw in the universal car mount too!
That was $24.99 after the coupon so my total was about $45 with shipping.

this thing is a winner. i will edit the OP with my update
what's the OEM?
my opinion, its a low quallity...
I got two of them. One doesn't work at all. The other only registers one level of sensitivity.

what did you pay for your Note 4?

$806 from T-Mobile.
coming from a Note 2, but man is that expensive! I've had buyer's remorse for a day but then realized that i will be using this for the next 3 years. it replaces a computer, so i guess i should stop whining.
Hey, it's not that bad. I paid $922.68 in Poland with shipping and some accessories included. Since I bought it for my business I will write it off my taxes though (meaning it will be 33% cheaper).
Paid $816.53 (which includes $6.99 S/H, and $60.54 tax - yes Cali has high taxes). I'll feel better about paying this, when I get the $200 from Samsung's promotion deal! lol
779.21 USD for mine.
480€ in Romania at my Vodafone contract.
it is too much for note 4 i think the best i'm going to do its buy an iphone 6 plus 16 gb in 750$ and when the price of the note 4 goes down i will sell the iphone and buy it, it's just samsung products devaluate very fast so it doesn't worth it.
Well thats certainly one way to do it. I prefer to just get the phone I want instead of getting one I dont want, having the hassle of selling it after X months, and then finally getting the phone I want. If you have the 750 anyways, whats the difference? Youd save what... 50-100 bucks on this entire ordeal? My time (picking up the iphone, selling it, setting up the iphone) combined with rebuying the apps I need on a different OS really evaporates the few bucks saved. For me, at least.
in my country is not easy to spend that kind of money i mean 100 $ it's a lot of money here
Sprint 2 years contract, trade in old htc hero. Note 4 cost me us $118 otd. Not bad considering i still have my note 2 to sell. BTW, this phone is night and day compared to my favorite phone note 2.
Paid $7xx.xx for 2 . Renewed my contracts but I'm sticking with ATT any ways. Plus, I upgrade about every 10-11 months.
