Now I've been tweaking computer systems for a few years now and I've decided to put that experience to work on the Android platform. It is a shame that Stock ICS lags on our Arc S given the cpu and gpu that it has. The phone has potential, but is imminently bogged down by cruddy I/O's. Therefore I've researched and experimented various tweaks on our device with one goal in mind, to optimize the OS for smoothness and speed while maintaining stability and keeping battery drain to a mininum at the same time.
(sound like a challenge?)
I present to you Sparta Charge, the Rom that brings your device to its fullest potential.

-Make sure you are in MSC mode and Usb debugging is on LT18a --- LT18i

Do not run the V6 Supercharger script, it will overwrite key tweaks in the rom and will break the smoothness

Working on lt15i with lupus v7. Very smooth and fast, though I've hardly any apps restored yet... Still seems very quick though.

Make a backup of your current ROM
Wipe factory reset
Wipe cache

Reboot it twice to make sure all the tweaks are properly applied
Tips:
The ROM works best with DoomKernel.
Best practices for flashing ROM
Baseband 36 is recommend with DoomKernel for best battery life. Also remember to flash the appropriate libraries from Iris' thread.
[BASEBAND PATCHES] for Baseband -36 and -64

Been testing for an hour or so now and so far very pleased. There is a slight graphical glitch at startup and can have a slight pause at end of boot on occasion. Once fully booted have found no issues at all.
All set up as i want and running very fast and smooth. Very pleased with rom great work.

Not sure .. One user reported it's stuck at boot "Xperia" screen.

Nope until cobrato implement it we can't overclock or we have to wait till DoomLord releases his version.

It should be fine ... I haven't applied any script to wipe data. But backup the data before you apply it.
oh well... what the.... i will try it my superuser in v6 failed anyways.. even with the fix... so lets go thanks mate.
now i have it installed.. works okay... no superuser fail at least...
a few minor fixes wanted
1) additional fix for arc s... (just for the view of it)
2) a little more free ram would be nice... mine uses over 200mb when i just installed it.
but i dont know if you can use your tweaks from the beta in the final version... so i can live with it if it is to much of a hassle but works great.. and thanks for the fast posting

How to install
Copy the .zip files to your CD card
Boot into CM recovery
Make a backup
Factory Reset
Format system
Format delvik cache
flash the .zip packages (ROM > patch if needed > wifi modules > baseband libs)
Reboot (Remember, first boot ALWAYS takes the longest)
Go through the setup process
leave to settle for 5-15 minutes
Open super user and update the binary files
Reboot
Your ready to go!
How to make this ROM Better/Faster
Remove setup guide once the ROM is installed (it uses 2.1MB of RAM and a super small amount of CPU power)
Disable ALL animations (Animations take about 0.2 seconds to complete, remove them to load menus instantly)
Change contacts apk for older version. Takes up 25mb RAM. Only added to keep you happy

It will go up live within 90 minutes regardless of the condition of the ROM. It boots and that's what matters at the moment (Y)

I would like to add, it has not been tested on Pro as I only have an Arc, so if you inform me that it works, then that would be great!
There is invalid information in title. It says your ROM is 2.3.7, however there is no such firmware released for our phones. And your first post says also "Based on android 2.3.4".

You know that those settings will completely disable multitasking?
No Background Processes means also no cached app which doesn't make sense - every app needs to be restarted when you just switch to settings - lots of cpu usage, battery drain and delays...

This ROM is as fast, that after 24h test I decided to change CPU max speed to 806MHz (Min134Mhz) and it's still super smooth on my Arc (LT15i)!
I don't have idea what you did with my Arc, but it's really AWESOME!
I didn't see such performance even on 2.3.xx modded ROMs ...
One problem I had was with camera shot button, but after CYBERSHOOT mod installation all works as it should.

I'm sorry, but I don't remmeber when I installed this mod first time
I tried almost all ROMs from this forum and I have backup of Cyber-shot in my TitaniumBackup database. I just restored it from backup ...
It seems work fine with this ROM and dedicated kernel ...

Sorry, but no... But it is very simple to unlock your bootloader
I am having bootloop(stuck on logo)
(Wait for 10 mins before concluding that you are having bootloop)
Reflash rom again through cwm or flash stock firmware.via flashtool(firmware at download section)
And, did you do a clean install. You wont have bootloop if u did full wipes
Any battery saving tips, cpu settings?
-3g/wifi/bluetooth/... - turning off them when not in use will save some battery
-Screen- lower your brightness and decrease screen timeout, it will help alot
-CPU- recommended governor (interactiveX, daily use)(smartass v2, multitasking)
keep in mind that overclocking higher will increase performance but drain battery
underclocking lower will result in some lags but increase battery life
-Task manager- I added in the samsung stock task manager for you guys to use
Try not to download other taskmanager as it will be stored as background apps and consume battery
Why did you add in bravia engine 2? It consumes battery...

-bravia engine 2 will boost video/pictures quality up to another level:good:

-Also increase gaming performance

Yess:laugh:, of course. Sony Clear Audio+ is added in this rom to boost music performance/quality.
Sony Clear Audio+ is a software that is somewhat similar to an equalizer
Whats more, IT IS AN AUTO EQUALIZER, that works flawlessly, without draining battery
or consuming much ram like other ordinary equalizer!!! There is also xLoud, Sony Clear Bass+...
What is xLoud?
xLoud is a volume booster(make sound louder), that also increase sound quality.
However, it might cause FC from some apps like Poweramp/ and some other music players.
I am having issues with this rom
If there is any bugs/problems/issues/room for improvement, please tell me, i will try to fix it or make it better on the next updates:laugh:
Which kernel do you use?
I use kernel fusion 5.5, in the download section,
but since fusion doesn't support 720p (HD) recording,
you can try fxp kernel or lupus kernel(not tested by me though)
but use fusion for optimum performance:cyclops:

looks really nice and has every thing i want in my daily rom great job bro .... but i really care about my battery life so can u add bravia 2 and the seeder thing as addons?? or teach me how to get rid of them cause i wanna get the best battery i can in my daily rom thanks alot for the great rom man

You can edit the build.prop(delete the line which have 'bravia engine 2' on it
I will probably delete it for the next update(drain too much battery juice)
Guys, if there are any bugs/problems/issues/room for improvement, please tell me.
I hope that some JB will have mods and Z1 look like many ICS based roms I think I see that in this one, I will subscribe ...looks promising keep it up :good::good:

Awesome Rom with awesome performance and looks , it has the best battery life in all the jb roms here even with be2 activated so great job man
Suggestions:
1- add walkman as the music player (with xloud) ,
2- usb mass storage mod ,
3- theme the ( circle battery with petcentage ) to be white ,
4- add the transparent toast and blue background as addons so we r not forced to use them
5- add small apps if it's possible
6- black mms.apk its more themeable and looks nice with xperia theme (i can upload if u cant find it)

This screen shot shows what i mean with white battery and black mms.apk i also included black contavts and black dialer in contacts.apk they r also cool and themeable

Definetly, I'll try this rom, only for bravia engine 2, quality above others, please don't remove bravia engine in the next update
you use it with Fusion 5.5, 720p work good? and what can you tell me about camera? What camera you use it on this rom? I heard people complain about fusion 5.5, they said fusion 5.4 is better...so who know, I'll give a try
and how about radio fm? is it on?
I saw in changelog: -gapps included
don't need to flash gapps you provided in Download section?

720p works flawlessly. 4.3 camera with working camacorder/paranoma... Well Fusion 5.5 is the latest, try it. Radio fm is working(im dont listen to radio though) Just download and flash the gapps at the download section^^

720p? Really? Am pretty sure fusion 5.5 didn't support 720p...

Fake 720p recording with superb quality. 720p recording only if kernel is supported(try lupus)(but use fusion for optimum performance)
