Diana v2.5 beta question. - LG Optimus Black

Hi OB Lovers
I have a question about the Diana v2.5 kernel from Huexxx.
I installed it a few times with cmw. Dit not clear any cache but after installation it still says diana v2.4+.
Does the + mean it's the newest version or has the version number not changed in the beta?

Not sure but I think it reads the kernel setting from build.porp and not the actual kernel. Huexx will be able to give a better awnser.

The same thing happened to me. I've flashed Diana Kernel v2.5 beta from Huexxx without a wipe cached and it's also showing me v2.4+
I'll try to wipe cache and reflash it.

Already tried that, i think it's just something visual and huexxx didn't change the version number to 2.5 beta.
Didn't have any sod's after the update so i guess it works.

Me neither. Everything is working fine with this 2.5beta kernel. I've never experienced any of this SoD's before or after the kernel update.

Actually i wanted more free RAM for playing games.
Currently I achieve it by temporary freezing some apps via titanium backup.
I bought a class-10 ultra-speed sdcard coz I read somwhere that high-speed sdcards would serve better if swap partition is created on it.
..
Therefore, I wanted to know about kernels if any that would provide swap support on CM-10.1
..
Btw, will swap partition work nice or smooth on high speed sdcards???? Is that true??

I have never tried it to be honest, but i think it is freaking slow compared to RAM. So better free some RAM if needed. In fact android should do that in its own. I also think cm10.1 is not really good for gaming, maybe also try other ROMs

Hey guys, so recently I've been looking for resources and stuff and I found this rom called LeWa Os. It's similar to MIUI in terms of themes, customization, initial theme when you first flash it, but it's based on CM7 so it has CM features. I took the time to port it to our beloved Atrix and will do my best to fix out the remaining bugs... It's running on Android 2.3.7 and has awesome eyecandy + fluid performance ...
It's based on the latest CM7 Nightly:
Code:
update-cm-7-20120420-NIGHTLY-olympus-signed.zip
This list shows a little of it's awesomeness, there are too many features to list...
If you press on Statusbur, softkeys will appear
Swipe up to open apps drawer
Miui like toggles in statusbar
*Oh yea* There is a task killer button in the statusbar
*Miui Like* SO many themes to customize
Included power manager app
Stylish slider to accept/reject calls
Smooth ROM!
Did I mention the charging animation!
Datamanager included in statusbar
ICS Transitions
Too many!
Bugs: (I will or some kind user will do his best to fix them)
One music app is mdpi, lockscreen is still a bit off...
Installation:
The exact same as installing any CM rom. Don't forget to flash gapps aswell. (I don't have it sorry)
Download:
1.0.0 - Themes work!
1.5.1 - Themes don't work!

I dont know any devs who make and specific kernels for this rom, so im wondering if just any cm7 kernel will do.

Shouldn't you know this by now...you've been around long enough.
This ROM it's really really reaaallly fast... I didn't even overclock it and it flies, .
The only thing I can't find is the option to use my "internal storage". Hope you can help me here.
Looking forward for updates, this is a great ROM with great potential.

You've got a whole year on me man.
And whats wrong with asking question?
It's a brand new rom. Unexpected things can happen.
I know CM7 is the base and its stable, but I still want to be safe.
I dont know about you, but my Atrix is my only phone.
I'm willing to test different things, but preferably in a safe way.

This Rom is FAAAAAAANTASTIC!!!!
Its sooo nice to have a fresh look and feel.
Im not going to EVER need a new phone if this kinda of support is available for the atrix!
Heres a .Zip of some Gapps from MorrisoftGen Rom (7.2RC based)
Gingerbread Making a comeback???? I THINK SO!! lol
Unless theres an ICS version of this ROM floatin around somewhere, maybe we can use CM9 as a base!

Huge huge huge thanks to ALL our resident source builders.
2/25/13 Notes
Alright, I've tightened up the rom a LOT and it will use much less ram and be more efficient in general.
On the first boot make sure to grant SuperSU access, SuperSU works better with this rom in general
and this release has no issues with root whatsoever.
The stock Kernel is fine speed-wise now, and there should not be any significant lag or slow-down from
using it, but I've also uploaded a modified DBK that Tim has given me the ok to use for people who want
overclocking and so on!
Downloading now, will begin testing as soon as its loaded. One question, is the MIUI home FC issue of the past fixed?

All FC issues are resolved I made a Kernel specifically for MIUI roms on our device, it is included with this rom
The Home, Theme FCs and so on were the result of us not having a MIUI Kernel

Worth noting If you flash any other kernel it will break the rom : P
Very nice work, I've noticed a little slowdown here and there but nothing major. Its pretty smooth. So far everything seems to work fine, it has been less than 24 hours, but I'm really liking the rom so far. Thanks for this.
Edit: I found that the slowdown was from my error, it was a bad tweak. The rom is super smooth now.

the theme controll seems to keep force closing
battery life has been atrocious on this one
I'd like to start by saying If you try to flash an OC kernel or any kernel beside the one provided, it will BREAK the rom.
When installing any new rom, It's best to let the device discharge the battery fully, then make sure the phone receives a complete charge before booting, If you do not do this on any rom you try battery life will be atrocious.
I've begun testing a build which does not require a custom Kernel, but for the build that does eventually I will try to add support for the other kernels we have
So this kernel is not oced and nobody responded to my download issue

Its just an init.rc edit to call shelld, I've also heard of folks using an init.d script to call shelld as well but doing so seems to break the rom

Looks great, I'm installing this rom. This was buried in my to-do list all day, and I finally got some time before sleep to do so. I have never used an MIUI rom before, so I must ask, when you say flash G-apps seperatly, which package do I flash? There is a MIUI specific g- apps flash? Do I just use the available jelly bean gapps? What shall I do?
I'm kinda confused here.
So it's MIUI version 3.2.8, not the true MIUI v4 right?
You named this MIUIv4 ??

Gingerbread CM7 for S6500D

First attempt: created repository at http://github.com/federivas/gingerbread_jenad
Everybody may use and modify sources; I'm not like other people...
Sources of CM7 from github.com/CyanogenMod. Kernel and modifications from Samsung official sources for S6500D. And, of course, a lot of work done today at home...
Some errors compiling, but I'll try to solve them; if you think you can help, download sources and publish your work here.
Managed to boot it? If yes, I'm sure it'd work on Ace Plus too. I tried to port cm7 on it, but got boot loops...

So, this will use a new kernel? Will there be a NFC version (NOT a major deal though now)? Good luck. If we don't have JB till 30th June, this will be the major thing for our Jena. Do not rush, we have patience.
Now compiles OK; generate some .img files, but I need to compile kernel too.
Anybody can help me? I don't know how to compile kernel too and finally get a .zip file to flash ROM.

To make zip file, execute "make otapackage" . And the kernel...dunno about it. I think you have to move the kernel folder to some folder called arm-eabi-4.4.3 just search for it inside your cm7 folder

This is how the kernel is built: https://github.com/TheWhisp/android_device_samsung_jena/blob/jellybean/BoardConfig.mk

I've tried installing the 5.1 a few times (with stock firmware between) but I get one bug.
Terminal Emulator always crash as soon as I start it.. "The application Terminal Emulator (process jackpal.androidterm) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. [Force Close]"
Only suggestion for improvement I can recall at the moment is the center-aligning of the alarm-clock text on lock screen. (When center alignment option is enabled).
Other than that the rom works perfectly and it's by far my favourite, keep up the good work.
Is there a camera fix that enables flash for optimus nexus rom, the one from cm7.2 thread doesnt work here.

jut wanna double check you did flash the right thing though, IF Yes ignore my post please.
Flash on camera: As far as I know, I've investiagted about it, and samsung used a weird interface to work with the flash on camera in stock rom. there is not a dedicated folder for that led, so i don't know yet how to implemetn it on CM7 camera app. THERE IS A FIX ON 3rd POST.
Thats the one except i didnt mount /system it was already mounted in cwm, should i unmount then remount and flash again, will that help, there was no errors the first time.
