[Q] Where can I find official rooted rom? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I already have a custom rom installed but I'm going to sell my Note... So I want to make it official but rooted...
I cant find any thread for it. A near official rom I found is CleaNote rom but I want a fully offcial rom like on Samfirmware but rooted.
I dont want to download via samfirmware because then I will have to though whole process of rooting again and then triangle removing mod etc...

its just a one step method for rooting ics these days.
Download the rom of your choice
download philz kernel as per rom
boot into recovery
install zip
done
you have root, and cwm and safe kernel
No triangle, no counter

There is a prerooted gb rom but i dont think there is a prerooted ics cause its not safe to stay stock after you get rooted
So as nokiamodeln91 said, download a stock ics rom and flash philz kernel

Thanks guys!
I hv downloaded the Stock rom from Samfirmware in ZIP format... As my phone is rooted, can I use mobile ODIN to flash that zip and Philz Kernel OR should I use cwm recovery to flash both.... (Im asking ths bec what if the phone reboots immediately after installing rom via cwm.... it wont gimme a chance to install philz after rebooting because stock rom also installs stock kernel)

Use pc odin to install the stock rom and then philz from recovery... Or u can use mobile odin aslo. If u already rooted, mobile odin may give the option to inject su, and u may have root as well after the rom install.
cwm u can't flash stock

You cant use cwm to flash a stock rom
You can use either pc odin or mobile odin to do so

Mobile Odin Lite Kernel Flashing

With Mobile Odin Lite you need to flash the kernel and so it directed me to the thread on here.
So I downloaded the kernal from the thread on here and tried to Flash with Rom Manager.
But Rom Manager can't flash it because it boots into 3E recovery.
So I put the kernal on my sd card, went into 3 finger CWM recovery and tried to flash it manually. But it said installation aborted.
So is there any way I can overcome this problem? I need it, of course, to flash the ics leak today?
Thanks for any help!

What are you on about here? You don't need any specific kernel to be able to flash ICS. It contains its own kernel in the Rom.
However, I would advise you not to download the ICS Rom from sammobile and flash blindly, because you'll lose root (if you have it). Better to wait for one of the Devs (probably chainfire) to double-check if the already rooted ICS CF kernel can be used for the new leak or not.
More than likely, they will create a repack of the ICS Rom, containing the root kernel inside. Now, you should download this repack and flash it using Mobile Odin.
So forget about flashing any kernels in advance, just sit tight and wait.
Hope this helps.
Thanks. You can flash from Sammobile and not lose root if you use mobile odin. I'm trying to use mobile odin lite but with lite you need to flash a mobile odin kernal before you can use mobile odin. I cant flash that kernal and need help as to how as then i can flash ics without loosing root or hassle.

[ SOLVED ] Want to update but use Custom Kernel

Dear Everyone
I want to ask everyone
Now I use a custom kernel and still stock rom , if i want to update to stock rom via ODIN
should i flash the kernel to Stock Kernel first and flash the stock rom , or just flash the rom anyway via ODIN ?
I am still use stock rom ( ICS 4.0.4 )
and the kernel is standard Notecore v13
I'm sorry my English Is so Bad
If you flash update via PC Odin, your custom kernel will be replaced by unsafe stock kernel, as well you will lose root. You have to reflash custom kernel to root and also need to reset counter.
If you want to preserve root and custom kernel, you can use Mobile Odin
Find 'ROM switching' from my signature for detail guide how to use Mobile Odin.

[Q] How to get stock kernel

I am running stock 4.0.4 with hydracore kernel.
I am getting the OTA update but cannot install.
how can i get back to the stock kernel without flashing the stock rom via pc odin ?
You got 2 options...
1. Download the stock ROM on your PC and extract the kernel (zImage) and flash it after
2. Download Chainfire's stock CF-Root kernel from this link- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784 and find the kernel that matches your ROM (on your region.

Download stock kernel for your rom from here and then flash using mobile odin or K-tools. I have done it many times using mobile odin and it even retains root.
But there is still no guarantee of OTA, I was on stock LR6 with stock kernel with mods and OTA failed everytime, now flashed GB and updating to LR6 via kies to use OTA.

or can i flash the zimage from mobile odin?
Most often it will.. since your using PC Odin.. but there's nothing impossible as long as you root your phone back and use ChainFire's TriangleAway app to remove the counter back to 0.
EDIT: Yes, MOdin can flash Zimage as well.. try to look for some of the answers here as well -->>http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1713289
Flashing anything which is stock should not raise custom count, same way as flashing stock firmware using pc odin doesn't. but why take chances when you can flash it using mobile odin or K-tools easily.
I even once flashed stock kernel using Doomlord's tool (used in CF root kernels to root and flash , it didn't raise the custom count.
Just put zimage on root of SD and flash by MO or ktools, easy. Modin can handle zimage and tar both.

I used mobile odin and used the tar.md5 in kernel... flashed and it wen back to the stock kernel but the OTA still failed... then did a restore of complete rom from odin.. sacrificed root and mods.. but finally the OTA installed and happy that i did.. love the new launcher

Yes, that's why I said no guarantee of OTA even after flashing stock kernel, I was on stock kernel already and never flashed custom but still had to flash GB from odin for OTA

cwm / philz = root ?

do i understand that right, that i can root my stock gingerbread by flashing this cwm/philz kernel, without the need to wipe any data?
i just want to flash ultimate rom. it says i need cwm. i don't fully understand why cwm comes together with a kernel and why that kernel gives root on any rom. how to root topic doesn't mention the flashing of just a kernel to get root. i guess i got something wrong here?
baseband XXLA4 - GB 2.3.6
You cannot flash PhilZ kernel on a GB Rom. It wouldn't boot up if you did.

for the Note the kernel and recovery are integrated, each kernel has a corresponding cwm recovery and root features too
so when you want to root a rom you have to flash a suitable kernel which will give it a cwm recovery to flash custom roms from and it will also give root features too.
Phillz kernels root stock ICS Touchwizz roms when flashed from stock recovery. after a complete reboot you can safely wipe from recovery and flash custom roms.
BTW - this thread belongs to the QA forum.

but would let me use cwm to backup and flash another rom?
You can't flash ANYTHING from stock 3e GB recovery. It won't pass signature verification.
(Unlike ICS). You need to root it first, then use an app such as mobile odin to flash a kernel which has CWM recovery.

Edit: to root GB without going through Dr. Ketans long winded process, just download Chainfires exynos app from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35512626 click on it, and select root device

unfort my kernel is not bugged. can i flash a bugged kernel?
i think i understood that i need to use odin to flash on a GB device? if so, i hope i can directly flash ultimate custom rom using odin?
1. Root Gb
2. Install Mobile Odin
3.Flash Cf-Root or Abyss (both are GB with CWM recovery)
4.Boot into recovery, do wipes and flash new ROM.
NOTE: custom roms can't be flashed with Odin.

Use the exnos abuse app to root.
Hey can i flash philz on 2.3.6 (rooted) format and install a JB rom?
Yes

help on Jelly Bean flash

Oh my god, I may did something wrong.
I was on stock ICS and followed the steps from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1801686
Apparently it was for CM not for the official JB. Official JB comes with a .tar.md5 file type, not .zip, so that I cannot flash it from CWM.
Any suggestions?
1. is it necessary to go to CM and use mobile odin?
2. rename the .md5 to .zip?
ICS stock rom is able to use Mobile odin to flash md5 n update zip such like kernals.
b4 start flashing any roms make sure u got a safe kernal !important ! do a backup of ur working rom wif ur safe kernal cwmr
when u flash via Mobile odin successful u might lost root , u can find philz safe kernal using the search button.
CWM is not able to flash md5 files , u can get deodex custom rom from the thread for using CWM flashable

Thank you.
I flashed the safe kernal so that I cannot boot my phone but CWM only.
Now I flashed CM and then mobile odin to HK official JB rom, thanks.
