[Official] Play Store orders & shipping thread!

Below is specific only to the orders from the first day the Nexus 4 was live.
Limbo 1 order fulfillment: ~99%
Limbo 2 order fulfillment: ~99%
Limbo 3 order fulfillment: ~91% (the majority of orders fall into this category)
"fulfillment" = shipped
Above is my educated guess on the status of the shipments that have been going out. I'm constantly tracking this and several other sources for continuing information.
Current status of orders and shipments:
Points below are confirmed:
First major batch shipped Nov 19 (upgraded to Next Day Air).
All orders that took place on the 13th that were back-ordered will be upgraded to Next Day Air for free.
Play Store Customer Service do not have any relevant information about your order. Calling them is nothing short of a complete waste of time.
Orders have not been shipped on a first-come first-serve basis. There is no pattern to the shipments, it is seemingly random. We have indisputable evidence of this.
Addendum to above: It is believed that we are finally going in order. Some of the later orders were shipped first due to an incomplete manifest.
Many people have noticed the last updated date on the Play orders page has changed. No one is certain yet what this might mean.
Points below are likely:
Logistics have been outsourced to UPS.
Order mechanics "slid" during the initial rush of the first few minutes of the product going live. This caused several issues (including an incomplete manifest sent to UPS).
Status of your order (limbos):
1) Order placed. No e-mail of any kind (including order confirmation) received.
2) Order placed. Order confirmation received. No other e-mail of any kind received.
3) Order placed. Order confirmation received. Back-order e-mail received.

Tentative US order time: 09:00AM PST
Changed "confirmed" to "tentative". 09:00AM PST is most likely, but you should be watching out regardless.
These are some of my favorite threads here! We all heard that the Nexus 4 is now official but I'd wager that a lot of us are waiting for preorders to open up on the Play Store.
Post the usual "I ordered!" "It shipped!" etc. here! I, personally, cannot wait for this guy. Just sold my S3 for it.
I did call Google to ask if they were going to open pre-orders for the device. Doesn't look like it this time around, but I was told that you will be able to purchase on November 13th and that stock would start shipping "either on the 13th or the 17th," whatever that means.
Current information (as of Nov 12):
No one knows what time the purchase will go live.
Best guesses are sometime in the morning of the 13th (office hours), or at 00:00 PST. I'm personally leaning toward the former. (NEW: see below)
There will be no pre-order on the Play Store.

A Virtual Credit Card (VCC) cannot be used with your purchase in the device store. Also, at this time, the country of your credit card must match the the country to which you're shipping.
Taxable charges, if any, depend on what state you're ordering from.
We do not know what shipping options will be available. Right now, only 2-day shipping is confirmed. We are hopeful for an overnight option at launch.
News added Nov 10:
Android Police got a little clarification from Google-- the rep said pretty much exactly what we've been assuming for the past couple of weeks. They also agree with me that the button will be more likely to go live in the morning sometime, rather than at midnight. A German Google employee has revealed that the Nexus 4 should be selling at "around breakfast time" in Germany. He also mentioned that would be about 8-9AM. This would lead us to believe that the order form will go live at 0:00PST as originally anticipated. Germany is 9 hours ahead of Pacific Standard Time-- aka, 2AM Central, 3AM EST.[/url]

Sure. But the Play Store says you can purchase it on the 13th.

I would imagine that means a direct purchase. It doesnt mention when pre-orders will start. I for one will definitely be pre-ordering (if possible) this phone. Just hope I can get around £160 for my HTC Desire HD with lots of cases and accessories included

Just shipped mine off! I was hoping to be able to mostly cover the N4 with what I got back from it. Turns out that I actually made money in the trade.

My trusty Atrix 4G.
It served as my go-between phone when I went from Note to S3, too. Got a clean CM10 on it, runs like a charm.

I'll most definitely be getting one of these. The price is good, it looks good, and I really dig the wireless charging. I've many times where I'd just put my phone on my desk, forgot to connect the charger, and fall asleep just to wake up with a (mostly) depleted battery. Finally a worthy replacement for my ageing Nexus one.

I wouldn't be surprised if the wireless dock is not available for quite a while.

Here's to hoping they do same day delivery this time around which may explain no pre order date...

It's not too big of a concern. The wireless charging is a more of a luxury than anything. The most important thing is the option is available; the aftermarket solutions either adds thickness or look just plain ugly.

The 3g 32gb Nexus will be released tomorrow. Has anyone seen any signs that they are available anywhere besides the play store? I would like to avoid the taxes and/or shipping changes.
PS Does the play store take returns if i have a screen lift problem.
PPS Since I currently do have a 7" tablet, I don't need to buy tomorrow. However, I would like 2 !!!

1) Outside of a T-Mobile "internal" document, I haven't seen any real confirmation about the release tomorrow (or technically today). It very well might happen, but it also might not. I'm hoping B&M stores carry them too, but it's unknown right now.
2) Yes, you have 15 days (or something like that) for a return and a full year warranty directly through Play Store - if you buy through them.
3) Is that a question?

3) No, it was not a question. It was a plea for someone to tell me/justify my impulse to just buy the N7 as soon as it is released. I am also trying to resist buying the Nexus 4 on release.

Go to the play store and see what happens when you try to select the 3G N7. My browser seems to be glitching. Edit, NM, its back to normal now.
And the only place it says that this device will be released is on the official google blog, but beyond that, i haven't heard a single thing. I even called the CS line today, and the only thing they told me was that "There is no definite release date."

It was not released in Australia along with the N4 and the N10.

Ditto. Was a bit of a git getting on to the website intially, but I managed and I've ordered it. 3-5 working days delivery (£13.99 p&p) . I got in work late as I didnt want them selling out before I got one... waited bloody ages for this.
It seems that no "bricks and mortar" outlets will currently stock the 3g version of the Nexus 7 in the UK and the only place to get it is Play Store.

Yeah I got an email at the moment the play store had the Nexus 7 3G in stock. However, I'd been checking it every few minutes anyway

I've been patiently waiting for this to come out, but it seems no stores are stocking it online. Not in the UK so Google Play order while possible, is a bit pointless.
Are there any retailers indicating they'll get stock soon?

There is NO indication at this point that any retailers apart from Google Play will be stocking the 3g version of the Nexus 7. I checked thoroughly or I would have bought in a shop rather than online, as I would have prefered to have checked the thing over.

3G Version is LIVE in the US Play Store.
Website is sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow.

Haha I ordered it before I ever received the email saying it was ready to go! I hope there are design changes so that the flickering is gone.

WTF. This is pissing me off. I can't get my order to go through. Keeps giving me errors and just hangs.
Plus, their phone support just shut down incoming calls.

Just got my ordered from play store at 9:09am PST. Total was $336.16 (California tax and $13.99 for 2 day shipping). It took me around 10 tries to finally get it to check out.

I finally got through too. My first browser just hung so I did a second order and it went through. Took like 40mins from start to finish. This unit better be perfect. I'm going to return my (perfect) 32GB once I receive the 3G unit, so I'll be pissed if I need to RMA the 3G one for some defect.

I tried from 8 to 9am with no luck. Got to the payment stge twice but it errored out
Or at least so I thought... An hour later I received a confirmation email, delivery Thursday! Also had a bumper in my cart and that's coming too.

same here. google is a piece of ****, i doubt they had 500 nexus for uk consumer. i was up all night, saw the phone went live for sale, was trying from 8.07 till 8.40 no luck always gave me an error, even i got into payment option couple of times but again error. this is such a disgrace for a big company. f... u google.
anyway been to the local phones4u and cpw and o2. cpw has no clue about the phone said wuld never be in store, o2 said 400 quid (u got to be kidding me) but phones4u says
they might get stock on 17th the fella was very friendly and had my number he will txt me on 16th if they really gona get stock on saturday.
it was a real mess of my life didnt go to tech and work sold my gnex dont know what to do....

I managed to get one way past the time by which they had seemingly sold out (sold out by the time I had logged on around 8:20ish whereas I eventually was able to order what must have been an hour and a half(ish) later!). I have been disappointed in a very similar way when Glastonbury 2013 tickets went on sale earlier this year and was determined that I would not have the same crushing feeling of disappointment again. I just wouldn't give up and constantly refreshed that page like a madman. The page jumped between 'coming soon' and 'add to cart' with each refresh and each click of 'add to cart' would give me one of about 10 different errors but in each case it was impossible to add the darn thing into the shopping 'cart/basket'. I was so close to giving up when one time it just worked. I got through all the stages and after panicking as I realised I had to renter a new delivery address, the order went through.

I was trying to get a 16GB, but I could never get through. Thought I'd try with the 8GB and it worked, settled for that instead.

Guess I will have to wait a few weeks (i hope) for them to be back in stock

I managed to click 'accept and buy' on 3 different occasions to get a 16GB and on each time the site either died after a while or threw out an error. I then went for an 8GB version and then Lloyds decided to refuse payment because of their fraud protection and the order was cancelled. So now I wait.

I got an 8GB, after 50 minutes of trying this morning for a 16GB. The 8GB I got at around 11:30, one of the ones they were restocking due to cancellations and whatnot.

No cigar on the 16GB but I managed to get an 8GB.
Figured with the Google Music Launch this morning, I would just get all my music uploading and stream it.

I 'think' I got one.
None of my orders went through due to website failures, but I have 1 nexus 4 that is pending in Google wallet.
Hope this means I got one.

Carlsberg don't do launches but if they did they wouldn't let Google within 100 miles of it.
What level of stock do Google run with on these things, was the same shambles last year with SGN

I called up google a couple hours ago and they didn't really know when more was going to be in stock, she said just to keep checking every now and again

I have a 16GB version but it's locked to O2, I'd be more than happy to swap with someone ON O2 who has an unlocked version... ^_^

N4 Tuesday (Nov 20th)

I noticed that many people, including myself, will be receiving their N4 on tuesday november 20th.
I have a feeling this wave of N4s may be the second batch (both Tmo and Playstore shipments).
So when we all get our "Tuesday N4", be sure to post up any and all issues or non-issues that differ from the current Nexus 4 owners thus far.

To clear up some confusion:
This pertains to those who had ordered their Nexus 4 either after sold out (this can be accomplished for people on Tmo through the phone or online)
and had gotten the BACKORDER email. And to those that mysteriously got "pre-ordered" or drastically delayed from play store. etc etc etc
So this thread is for the people who are scheduled to receive it on monday/tuesday

Here are some issues that we need to look for:
Yes/No - Screen Yellowing
Yes/No - Rattling
Yes/No - High Pitch or Static noise coming from handset
Yes/No - Random Reboots
Yes/No - Squeaky Power Button
Yes/No - Wobbly Volume Rocker
Yes/No - Low Touchscreen Sensitivity (on super light taps)

Common Issues that are not flaws
- Really hot. Because Glass
- Change in color temperature at different viewing angles. Because IPS

Kinda. Those who did not get the first shipment. Aka we didnt make it in before it got sold out. or we ordered on tmobile phone/web and was backordered and soon after got tracking numbers

Since last november 13th, everyone was saying that for people who got BO and people who couldnt buy it, they will be able to buy it in 3 weeks (next batch).
Now how is this possible? You are saying that on tuesday Google Play will be selling nexus 4 (i.e 2nd batch?
If it is true, i will be most happyiest person. :victory:

I recall reading a post on this forum that someone called the CSR (what's new, eh) and the CSR told him that they are actually working on prioritizing the orders (i.e People who bought multiple phones won't get all that they ordered immediately) to ensure that others who were more modest in their orders get theirs as well. This is why they said that the shipment would take up to 3 weeks cos they need to sift through every order. However, I'm still quite unclear with the definition of 1st and 2nd batch. I would prefer to think that the 2nd batch is just part of the 1st and is part of the newly sorted orders they've worked out over the weekend.

Picking up mine tomorrow morning.

I have a feeling that this is all gonna be part of the first batch still since they are still trying to get orders out from the initial sale, and that when Google sells the Nexus again on their site then THAT will be the second batch.

I just canceled my order earlier today. I'm going to err on the side of patience just let everyone else iron out all the kinks. Maybe treat myself to an on time Christmas present as opposed to my originally planned early one.

Now from what I heard, Tmobile will have more between the 20th and the 22nd. And I heard (rumor) that the play store will have the next batch between the same dates

Where ate you getting these rumors from? If they are only rumors then why shows them? Rumors are what caused me to stay up all night for a midnight release on the 13th..

I heard about the tmobile in store release dates from the store manager in a NY location near me.
The play store availability one I heard somewhere online. That is why I made sure i wrote "(rumor)" next to it

You can go pick up the same day. They won't attempt to deliver so the package will be at the dist. center.

Tmobile online now taking orders

Go to tmobile website and put gear vr in search box and click on gear vr option and order it for 99.99. They did not even advertise that it was available for order. I just ordered mine. I'm thinking first come first serve hopefully, it's sold out everywhere else and tmobile told everyone that they wasn't taking orders till November 27 so order asap.

Any update on your order? I ordered mine on Saturday around 1pm EST, and my order status is still "Being Processed".
Is Best Buy selling these in store? I see it is not available for in store pickup on their website...

Thanks for your response, actually last night seemed all my UPS Status went from nothing (literally UPS site said the tracking number wasent in their system) to being on truck ready for shipment today. I cant stop looking for the truck! LOL

Awesome. My order does not even say "shipped" from T-Mobile...it just says "Being Processed" which makes me a little concerned that maybe they got a ton of orders and I won't be getting one any time soon. We'll see.
Did you pick regular shipping, or did you pay for next day shipping? I picked the free 2-4 day shipping.
I noticed that the Gear VR is now listed as out of stock the T-Mobile's website.

I picked next day overnight because the lady offered it for free, so why not? LOL.
Then, the next day (sat) I made a follow up, and for the inconvenience, they gave me a $30. credit!
On top of that, I complained to Best Buy last week because when I went to the store to get more information on the unit, none of the Samsung reps knew anything about it, or would make any effort to look into it in the computer. 3 different reps gave me 3 different "possible" dates.... I say "Possible" because they didn't want to bother looking at the computer. All I wanted to do was place an order in store if possible because I prefer to have my CC scanned in person and not have the number sent off to cyberspace.... all they had to do was take my money and they didn't want to, so I said screw it and called corporate and complained (took 5 minutes) and they sent me a $25. gift card LOL. So, essentially this thing will cost me about $45. in the end.

Mine is still being processed as well, now it's back available for ordering when it said out of stock last night...this tells me there system is screwing up so we may not have anything shipping anytime soon ...chatting now with tmobile specialist...will fill u guys in

Okay, the gear VR is still in Stock at tmobile , but please keep this to ourselves for now, we don't want no order screw ups or extended waiting periods for our shipments

Thanks for doing some leg work and looking in to this. I keep hoping for an email with a tracking number, but still nothing.
I did online chat with T-Mobile earlier today, and they assured me I should have it in 24-48 hours, but I am still feeling skeptical. When I look at T-Mobile's website it is still showing as out of stock for me.

No problem, the rep also said everyone who ordered this weekend will receive their shipments this week, I'm just waiting for my shipment and tracking email too ....

Nope...still no shipping notification. The online chat people are useless too. They just keep telling me I should receive it by the end of the week (i.e 2-4 business days)...but since I ordered it on Saturday, you would think it would have shipped yesterday. That leads me to believe T-Mobile F'd this one up.

Wish I did one day shipping now...maybe it would have helped...but Samsung USA online store said they will be shipping back orders on 30th...I have one with them too...so if both come I will sell one for double on eBay

Just got off the phone with T-Mobile. They sadly just confirmed that it is backordered with no anticipated ship date. What a crock.
The girl said they can get shipments on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but that really doesn't help at all.
What a bunch of BS.
