[Q] Is there any possible way to root Galaxy Note through odin running 4.1.2? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I installed leaked 4.1.2 on my note. However, when I tried to root it by recovery, I got the message "can't mount sd card." So I searched the net to finde a way to root the device by odin but no way.
So, is there any possible way to root through odin?

dowload and flash philzz kernel for JB. you can find it in the dev. section
and flash through stock recovery, it will give instant root and install cwm

Is it possible without getting "can't mount" problem?

[Q] [Help] On a ROM that won't allow me to flash a new one

Hi,
I'm on t mobile with a samsung galaxy s and tired of waiting for froyo tried a kies hack from this forum to download a froyo rom via kies...
Anyway, i now know i downloaded the wrong rom, a 3 UK rom which doesn't allow me into recovery mode. i can get into recovery mode via adb, and i can then attempt to flash a root rom, and it says it installs however it then boots to the same 3 rom...
is there any way i can root my phone or get back to another rom?
thanks very much in advance,

Use the z4root app in the Market to root your phone and then install Rom Manager from the Market which will give you Clockwork Recovery. From there you can flash new roms...
Hope that helps...
I just noticed an app called superuser permissions...does this mean i have rooted my phone?
EDIT: More to the point does this mean i can now download another rom from kies via the kies hack?

you have to flash a kernal with CWM in it using odin first.
Then:
1.) put the firefly zip file on the root of your SD
2.) boot into clockwork, and flash by selecting zip on sd card.
What did you use to root your phone? Z4 doesn't work for me.
Root via Upate.zip
Try this if you don't want to use a one click
DL the file attached
Rename it Update.zip
Copy TO ROOT of internal SD
Reboot to recovery
Install
Reboot
Superuser Granted
which kernel do i have to flash? for firefly
I tried "one click root", "Super one click" on my office's XP but never worked. I came home and repeated "Super one click"on my window 7, it just worked and I see the superuser icon there right away.

...
.
I tried to wpe data factory and wipe cache
but it's still get the error and stuck in a loop on startup.
any solution plz?
I think you will need to flash back to stock , i had this issue with mines. I flashed back to stock with Odin.
How can i do that?
Go yo samfirmware.com and go into toolbox section and flash stock gingerbread through Odin. instructions and guides are given on the site along with Odin software and stock gb files.
Sent from my sgs
kernel: galaxian
Rom: jetpack
not worked
What happened ? And are you familiar with Odin ? Are you putting the correct files in the correct box ?
yes , yes, im familiar with odin.
I tried to flash my phone with a Rom that have bootloader.
my phone comes up with android 2.2.1 sucessfully BUT unfortunately my internal 8G sdcard is not unvailable yet.
Try flashing to GingeBread 2.3.4 (will post a link) but be very carefull when doing so, because semi-brick is possible. What rom did you try and flash. Read the tutorial carefully and use the odin they say to use.

Thanks for reply.
I've done every thing but it didn't come back. still my phone's memory is unavilable.
is it possible that it be hardware problem?
how can i be sure?
any suggestion ?
hi,
i appear to have the same problem.
have followed the intructions in the posted tutorial to the letter without joy.
can anybody help or does it need to go back to samsung?
thanks
download terminal emulator and type ls /dev/block/mmcblk0*
a normal phone has mmcblk0, mmcblk0p1 and mmcblk0p2.
if you don't see it, internal storage is probably broken.
What do you mean by Terminal Emulator?
I should install it on my phone or its a pc program?
I found a Terminal emulator for android but i can't install it because of "There's not enough space.."!!!

[Q] How to go from GB CF root + CWM to ICS via Kies

Hi All,
I have CF Root + CWM and would like to update to ICS vs KIES (ICS now avaible in HK).
When i connect to KIES it doesn't recognize my phone. I suspect this is due to me removing kies.odex file and mtpapplication.odex file.
Can anyone suggest what i should do? Something like flash a rom then try kies again or some other solution.
Cheers

you need to have a 2.3 6 bootloader for it to work , so either change ROM or just the Boot loader, so suggest you head on to My Android Collections, rescue recovery kits section and use Odin3 to flash a upgrade kit, preferably i9000 Upgrade or Downgrade to GingerBread 2.3.6 ROM JVU + Root with a 512 Pit File (repartition Ticked) Ideal base for upgrading to ICS and J.Bean.
But before you do this backup your contacts, sms, images etc ( that is If you want them, so many apps and google can do that) or simply mount USB sotage and copy the entire Internal SD card, so you can use what you need later. Also Backup your efs folder.
The above ROM, already has root and CWM , so you can flash any ICS or JB ROM, best to upgrade to ICS and than to Jelly bean such that you won't have IMEI errors.
Hope you know what you need to do before flashing ROM
Thnx going to do that
