[ROM][4.1.2][WEEKLY] Official CyanogenMod 10 for HTC Holiday (Vivid/Raider/Velocity) - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

CyanogenMod 10 is a free, community built distribution of Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) which greatly extends the capabilities of your phone.
Code:
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM

* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
This is the official Weekly Build of CM10 for the HTC Holiday (Vivid 4G/Velocity/Raider).
Installation Instructions
Go to http://get.cm/?device=holiday and download the latest weekly.
Locate Gapps via a quick Google search.
Fully wipe your device from Recovery if you are not coming from CM10 already.
Reboot into recovery and install.
Remember, if you are S-On, you will have to take the boot.img out of the cm.zip and flash it manually via fastboot. If you flash this and your phone just reboots, you are most likely S-On and need to perform that procedure.

You can find the latest Changelog here

Huge thanks:
synergye, IOmonster & mg2195 - For getting the Holiday to where it was.
intervigil - Helping me understand 8660 differences from 8960.
homeslice - Helping out while I've been unavailable.

Issues:
HW video playback may have artifacts or other issues. Turn on Force GPU Rendering in Developer Options to fix.
How to use MTP to mount internal and external storage simultaneously:
Go to Settings
Go to Storage
Press Menu key
Choose "USB Connection Type"
Choose "Media device (MTP)"
* Windows will mount this automatically.
* Linux is a little tricky, but not too difficult, see the following:
Edit /etc/udev/rules.d/51-android.rules to include these lines for adb and mtp:
SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="0bb4", MODE="0666", GROUP="plugdev"
SUBSYSTEM=="usb", SYSFS{idVendor}=="0bb4", MODE="0666"
install gmtp; for debian/ubuntu type: sudo apt-get install gmtp
open gmtp and hit the connect button (be patient)

Not sure if this is 'Spectrejester's' problem, but I also had no wifi like 'sadoway' showed a few posts up. I did not see his fix in time before I flashed back to the other rom so I could not test if it worked for me (long press the notification window's quick settings?). And im near certain the boot img flashed (s-off). Never had a problem on any of his earlier builds...
I think mic does work now for AT&T phones but it is indeed sooo quiet you would have to scream at top of your lungs to get them to hear you. But, its definitively a start . Awesome work like usual.

Frkkn cool ............

Yeah I usually get $500 Christmas cash every year and I've been checking the nexus site constantly hoping the wait for the 4 would reduce but yesterday enlight of the news I was looking at new accessories for this phone instead! Very exciting. I'll wait till everything works to flash, but it does give us new hope

I can't get this to sync. After the "git clone git://github.com/mg2195/local_manifest.git" from the original tree, I can't modify local_manifest.xml or I get repo sync errors:
Code:
error: Cannot remove project ".repo": uncommitted changes are present
commit changes, then run sync again
How do I "un-clone" a "git clone" operation to remove it from version control?

Yeah...story about that...that was bad instructions in my part (didn't work the way I imagined in my head)
Anyways, delete everything in the repo folder EXCEPT the projects folder. Again do not delete the projects folder...delete everything except the projects folder. Run the repo init again and you should be good. (Since the project folder is still there you won't have to redownload everything)
You could also CD into the .repo folder and run a git reset...
Oh yeah and if anyone's wondering I requested the other thread closed to avoid confusion...

cd ./.repo
git reset --hard
or you can just stash the changes (git stash)
then, instead of cloning, just create the local_manifest.xml manually

I am not an accomplished ADB user, but am fully able to follow clearly given instructions. I have used adb on several android devices.
If I can be of any use to test out things, let me know.
Cheers.
I have a 3113 but I'd still be willing to test.
I am good with ADB and the like.

31Hey buddy,
Finally someone is working on a custom rom for P3100. I have a P3100 abd would like to test your rom.
Thanx
I have a P3110
I would like to try this, please~
I just have some knowledge about this and have rich experience about testing bcos I made a lot of custom roms for me~
thx~~
Exciting news.
Unfortunately i only have a 3110, otherwise i would have loved to help.
Best of luck with the Rom, I am guessing we have a chance of it becoming an officially supported device now.
Anybody tried this on p3100 ??

Did not work on P3113, failed to boot past splash logo. Getting adb up now so I can post some information.
Also had to change some of the assert info in Updater Script to be able to even install it (Basically removed most of it and set it so that if the device == espressowifi, go ahead and install).

Okay have flashed on P3100 as of now working very smooth. Some transition effects lags but its okay. I am already loving it. More updates when i explore all the features. I have the cyanogen mod on the latest ICS v4.0.4. Rocking.
Nice work codeworkx. If any future updates and testing please do write me will be happy to test it for you.
Now time to check if the apps working fine.
I take that hardware acceleration is not implemented yet?
I successfully flashed to my 3113. Awesome and super smooth so far. What would be the best kernel to flash with this?

And Google Chrome works! No more FC due to no hardware acceleration.
Edit: None of the other kernels I've used before seem to work with this. So a proper warning to those who will try. Guess no OC for now.

If want to help do donate to help me get back my phone
Since I haven't seen anyone post feedback on this Project at all, and I'm not even sure if it will boot, but I'll give this a try as soon as my backup is done and I'll report back.
Zackconsole, could you give any pointers regarding on how to patch?
I'm mostly an app developer and I don't have that much experience with Kernels (yet), but I do know how to compile android, I prefer my own builds over FXP and CyanogenMod, because it allows a bit more customization.
Anyway, going to give this a try and see if it even boots (In the "working" list you only have the Arc/s noted as "booting") and then report back.
If I understood correctly this is based on FXP's CyanogenMod?
Dympy.
EDIT1:
Flashed, booted, and damn this is fast.
Going to mess around a bit the coming hour and then reflash my own CM10 backup again
BTW, donations coming your way, this has to be the best project so far.
EDIT2:
Donation made (not much $10) and I tested the slide out keyboard from the Pro.
The keyboard works, function wise, which is a good thing!
Rotation not yet and backlight of course, but we knew these things. What I understood from the backlight is that it's defined somewhere in the framework-res file. Not yet sure where, but I'll figure it out someday
For now back to CM10, keep up the work man!
It didnt work for me....i had boot loop problem. I had followed the steps which was mentioned

[ROM][JB][4.1.2]Unofficial AOKP[12.14.12]

The more options we have the better, right?
AOKP Official Website
Disclaimer: I do not claim to be a developer... However, by READING, SEARCHING, and TRYING, I've learned some tricks of the trade. One of them has been building from source. All I am doing is putting a few pieces together to make it compile, all the hard work has been done by h8rift and mg2195. Their repos, hard work, and dedication build this ROM - all thanks/credit goes to them as well as the CM and the AOKP teams. Being that this is built off of h8/mg's trees, any bugs present in the CM10 ROM will be present in this ROM. The box that I compile on is by no means speedy, so updates will come when there are major breakthroughs, as soon as I can get them built. Feel free to post bugs, but please don't expect them to be addressed quickly, especially if it's not on h8's or mg's to-do list - like I said, I'm not a developer, but I will be tinkering – but with 4 kids, a full time job, a house to manage, and a build PC that’s years behind the game, play time comes sparingly. I test these builds on my own device before any release, but I do not claim it will work for everyone. ALWAYS have a nandroid in case of emergencies. I am NOT responsible for bricked devices or catastrophic failure Once ATT in call mic is fixed I'll be able to run these longer than 20 or 30 minutes so I have some actual time to troubleshoot problems I've introduced
What works:
- Mobile Data
- SMS/MMS
- Phone
- GPS
- Camera
- WiFi
- ATT WiFi Hotspot (and maybe StraightTalk too)
What doesn't work:
Here (http://code.google.com/p/htc-msm8660/issues/list) is the Issue tracer for CM10. These issues will also be present in this ROM. DO NOT POST NEW ISSUES TO THIS LIST UNLESS YOU'VE FIRST DONE A FULL WIPE, FLASHED CM10, AND VERIFIED THAT THE ISSUE PERSISTS. IT IS VERRRRRRY POSSIBLE THAT THESE ROMs HAVE INTRODUCED NEW BUGS THAT ARE NOT PRESENT IN CM, WHICH NEED TO BE REPORTED ME, NOT THE CM10 ISSUE TRACKER - Bluetooth
- Non ATT Tethering/Hotspot (StraightTalk hotspot might work too)
- Camera has a bit of a bluish/orangish hue to it (Fix: http://www.mediafire.com/?15guubzesa84e13 (flash in recovery) - Alternatively, just change ro.product.device=Holiday to ro.product.device=holiday (notice the h isn't capitalized?) in build.prop, save, and reboot. I will fix this in the next build)
- process com.android.phone has stopped message on boot/reboot/possibly when you don't have service? (sometimes once, sometimes a few times), but doesn't seem to affect anything after that

You must have your bootloader unlocked with a custom recovery (WCX Recovery tested, approved, and recommended)
Download the ROM .zip and gapps .zip from the Downloads section, to either your Internal or SD memory
Boot to recovery and wipe Data, Cache, Dalvik Cache, and System
Flash ROM .zip
Flash gapps .zip
Reboot
IF YOU ARE S-ON, you need to manually flash boot.img from Fastboot so -
Extract boot.img from ROM .zip to the directory on your computer where fastboot is
Boot to bootloader (PWR and Vol- from off state)
Select Fastboot
Plug your USB cable in and open a command prompt in the same directory you have fastboot
Fastboot flash the boot.img (I like to flash it twice, just to be sure)
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Reboot

You have no idea the amount of possibilities that are opened up once you get good source to work with...
Not only does it open the door for more ports...it also opens the door for true custom ROMs with endless possibilities...

I would also like to know this
To answer the above.. I havent had enough of a chance to play with any of them to make that decision. I like a lot of parts of both of them I guess, and pa. I've never actually got to use a pacman Rom..so I look forward to trying that.. Its just nice to have the option to choose sorry for such a vague answer.. maybe ill have some more insight on that once I'm able to use any of them as a daily. Im on att and need my phone to operate as a phone. And with 4 kids the camera is pretty important to me as well.. so for the time being, these are only for play time for me
I know the limited time deal - also 4 (young) children, married, full time job... Very blessed, and learning time-management^n
Patience with this device is actually on the precipice of paying off Not sure I need to try pac-man, probably settle for one of these three first new rooms, but haven't ever been more excited about any of my phones!

It might be helpful to manually format /system as well as I encountered a bootloop several times and solved it with the format in recovery.
EDIT: I noticed that e.g. Youtube videos are displayed about 10 times faster than normal what makes it impossible to listen to music or just watch a video. Is this a known issue or shall I make a logcat of that?

do you have efs backup try restoring if not
might wanna start start troubleshoot from the bottom eg. you are using n5120 rom ( yes sounds dumb but!! )
check md5 of tall the files, re download the rom, dont install gapps at 1st bootup just to make sure.
go to a working rom before reflashing. which recovery are you using.
some of these thing might not have anything to do with the prob but you wanna clear doubts as you proceed.
why dont you pull a logcat and send it to the dev.
id say that start from scratch, wish i could be of more help
best of luck
I am using the recovery provided in the op, other recovery didn't work and gave error.
I dunno logcat can see this problem ? I will give it a go to dump the logcat

[WIP] [2014-12-11] CyanogenMod 12 ALPHA semi-nightly builds from Archi's sources

I don't actually do this romming thing, I just compile the ROMs. All credit to JustArchi, Moster2, arter97, etc.
Read the WHOLE OP.
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*

Hard. A lot.
*/
Working
- updater-script (flashing)
- kernel (booting)
- OpenGL (CPU rendering)
- MALI blobs (GPU rendering)
- HWComposer and MALI R4P0 drivers
- Rotation
- Camera (this DOES NOT include stock camera app, use e.g. google camera)
- WiFi
- Bluetooth
- NFC (Android Beam)
- Sensors (ALL!)
- Internal / External SD Card
- Vibration
- GPS
- RIL (including mobile data)
Not Working
- Nothing?!?
This is NOT A STABLE BUILD.
If you suffer bootloops, or any other bugs, I do not care, unless you can provide a logcat.
If you have an issue that has already been solved or reported, do not expect a response. I'm 99% sure that your issue is known and is being worked on by the devs.
You do not need to flash this over any other ROM. Wipe dalvik cache, data and system before flashing. Allow some time for ART to finish booting.
If it doesn't work for you, and you aren't willing to put the effort in to either get a logcat or perhaps do a little bit of research by yourself, go back to 4.4. You clearly should not be running pre-alpha builds.
I use the ParanoidAndroid Beta gapps, they work fine.
And the downloads? (Changelog is in the next post down)

build date and cm version seem to be off. I don't know why, but the kernel version is right
If you like this, support JustArchi, Moster2 and arter97. They do all the code, I just build the builds.
I use TWRP, although any recovery should work fine. As long as your recovery is recent (i.e the latest version), it will not make a difference to how successful your installation is.
Installing in 4 simple steps!
Wipe dalvik cache, cache, data and system
Flash the ROM
Flash gapps
Doesn't work? Try skipping step 3. Still doesn't work? Logs or it didn't happen.
Fixing your problem in 4 simple steps!
Use the search function. Think of it as Google, but for this thread. Also search Archi's thread
Read the last 10-15 pages of both this thread, and Archi's
Still haven't found someone who has reported your issue or haven't found a fix? logcatlogcatlogcatlogcat. Post it here in an attachment. Explain how you produced the issue, specifically. "I pressed the button and then the thingy stopped working" is not enough.
"Wow it's been a whole two days and you haven't posted a new build?!?"
I have a life. I generally prefer my actual life over reading XDA. I do go places without an internet connection. I do not always have a computer capable of building Android. I do sleep. I do go out during the day. I do live in a timezone that is not in the USA. Therefore, I may disappear off the internet for hours, even days at a time. You can always build your own builds if you want!
These builds come straight from @JustArchi's repos. To duplicate my build, use the CM 12 manifest and put Archi's roomservice.xml in your local_manifest folder. I recommend getting a CM11 build working before attempting to build this.

problem with long sms
Hey,
First, thank you for sharing and your work!
I have only one question: does long sms works? I have issiu with Archi's Lolipop - If message is not too long (1 sms) everything is fine, but if im writing long message like 2-4 sms, message is not send, i can't call anyone till phone reboot and also i cannot retrive SMSC number. After reboot everything is ok.
Any fix or tip?

I don't get it.
What's the difference between this and JustArchi's? Sure this is a newer build but nothing else has changed?
I am not getting the point of making a rom by cloning Archie's branch. Is their any value additions? This is the main reason why Dhiru sometimes keeping his work closed. I am not demoralizing OP. Some difference/value additions will make our day.. Cheers

Yeah, but still, nothing has changed from JustArchi's sources, which also has this features. The only thing is that this is compiled and released earlier than JustArchi's.
If that's the main point, to release a ROM based on JustArchis's sources before him, it's just so rude.
do I have to flash anything else exept rom, like gapps, 3g fix, camera fix ?
Did anyone tested the rom????????
