[Q] Can't update to v10h via Pc Suite or b2c (italy)? - LG Optimus 4X HD

Hi guys. I have a problem: v10h came out yesterday for the 4x but when i search for updates via Lg Pc Suite, B2C or FOTA it says i'm on the latest firmware, that i don't need to update. But I'm on 10f!! How can I solve this?

You probably have the "EUROPE OPEN" version of the phone. You can verify this by dialling 3845#*880# and then going to version info. Check what is noted below Factory Version. I have LGP880AT-00-V10f-EUR-XXX-AUG-17-2012
Notice the "EUR", that means "EUROPE OPEN".
Now if you check which firmware is the latest for EUROPE OPEN through LGMobile Support Tool -> Customer Support -> Supporting Model you will find out that LG still hasn't updated their servers to the latest firmware for 'europe open':

Not so sure about that...
How do you explain my LGP880AT-00-V10h-EUR-XXX-NOV-19-2012 ???
Its not in the official site as "Europe" but I update it by LG TOOL, even if the update was started thru "UpTestEX_mod2_marwin", it was a "normal web upgrade".

Thanks to both of you yeah i have the LGP880AT-00-V10f-EUR-XXX-AUG-17-2012 version!

Hmm, the only 2 'official' ways to update the phone are through the LGMobile Support Tool or OTA as far as I know. Those 2 methods do probably simply check if there is newer firmware version available *matching* the specific installed country version, and since it is not there @ csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP880/ANEUBK/V10h_00/V10H_00.kdz it will not update.
Isn't the UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe tool used to flash complete kdz files? Blocking access to the LG servers, and force it to take whatever firmware you feed the the phone?
But why it afterwards says LGP880AT-00-V10h-EUR-XXX-NOV-19-2012, I don't know But all the country specific firmware versions seem to be of the same size and thus are probably exactly the same. Maybe it re-uses the EUR string in this case?

"UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe" when "normal web upgrade" is selected, runs "B2CAppSetup" that checks for the latest version.
Might be because once the phone was bought in Poland, it searched for the Polish version, that is European aswell... Italy is also European.
Makes me think that all countries (when unbranded phones) receive the Eurpen.
The "Original LG Firmware" created by "XDA Developers" also detects my latest available firmware as V10H... the search is based on the IMEI.

BTW, V10H for EUROPE OPEN is also out now:

So I don't know why my rooted O2X can do this update may be your rooted O2X can update like mine.
If you update via the LGMobileupdate in Windows, you flash the complete image.
If you do an OTA, you only get the update essentials, which is not a complete image.
I have installed LG Updater, but Latest S/W is V10B :?
Mine says 10b is latest as well (Holland)
can you guys check which is latest, just replace 000000 with your IMEI, dont share imei just the link of .kdz file if its 10c

If anyone can get this update via the LG updater, can they please post the .wdb file. it will be downloaded to the LGMOBILEAX folder on Win 7 this resides in the Program data folder.
It says for me 20110226 when I put in my IMEI, dutch phone, bought in store not through any provider. check imei behind battery on sticker in case the CM7's I installed replaced it somehow, but they didn't it seems.

Hey guys i bought the international lG P880 and i am currently using it with simple mobile, the problem is that it hasn't been updated since i bought it not even one single update has been available it is stuck with V10E OCT 16 2012. I read a lot of you are doing it manually with the kdz up to V10H but for compatibility issues i would rather get it from FOTA i keep checking and checking but it says it is using the latest OS also my language is set to "English(United Kingdom)" because this phone was not suppossed to be released for USA I assume.

All those parameters are the same like in Eurpen.
What makes me thing that you can upgrade using KDZ...
In euro_open you have EN-US or EN-UK
And if you find yourself with some issue, you can always go back to your official version...
Does Euro_open firmware support Simplified Chinese keyboard and input? I also bought my internationl LG P880 through Amazon, but I got the SEA version. It comes with SEA popular languages support such as Traditional/Simplified Chinese, Malays, Thai etc. It's still on 10E firmware. It still remains stock and un-root. I am patiently waiting for LG to release the 10H firmware through OTA.

Use the app "local select" nobody should worry about the supported languages with that. also my phone does have chinese at the bottom of the language selection.
does anyone know what place this phone belongs to or locale?

Verizon 5G S10 will not update firmware/security patches, is it because of current FW

The Firmware I am on is G977UVRU0ASDG
I tried to update OTA and update assistant for PC and both failed saying this firmware cannot be updated. So I am really confused. Can someone confirm any further info about this firmware version? I enjoy the phone and I decided one day to check why I haven't gotten Android 10, and thus this is where I am now.
Also is it as simple as flashing the latest firmware via odin? If so, which site offers a dependable VZW firmware I can try flashing? Can I keep my files or would I have to make a backup first, flash via odin, then restore (which I hate to do because setting up a new phone takes so much time).
But most importantly I am curious to know more about this firmware version and what it is! Seems like VZW doesn't think its theirs. Thank you in advance.
Smartswitch says SDG, what is SDG? Is there a simple refresh/fix so that I can get OTA updates? Please help!

I'm having similar issues with the same firmware. Did you ever find a way to update your phone? I bought mine on ebay, supposedly NIB, but it came in generic packaging and said "demo" on a sticker on the back of the phone.

LM-405EBW ( TIM firmware) LG Bridge problem

Hi everybody!
I've tried to update my LG V40 over LG bridge. Bridge recognize my phone and finds new software V405EBW20e_00_TIM_IT_DS_OP_0210, from 20th march. But after downloading it it keeps crashing after entering firmware update mode. I live in Serbia so I presume OTA updates are not available for me. Is there a way to flash it with unbranded european firmware, and will that enable OTA updates or updates over LG Bridge? Thanks!
Something must be delayed somewhere, because I just got an update this month.

Greetings to everyone!
I am writing from Hungary and I have a V405EBW TIM region coded (service provider) phone with a closed bootloader and no root. When I bought it, it was probably handed over with V20d HUN Pie ROM and I was able to upgrade to V20f using LGUP (I didn’t upgrade to V20g because I was expecting Android 10). In the Hungarian forum, which I read, they upgraded to Android 10 with LGUP also a TIM service phone. For this, a DEC region ROM has also been uploaded with LGUP without any problems. After upgrading to 10, the following error message appears when you turn it on: "Current version is not available for user. Can't find matched carrier. Check NT-code: 2201: FF". My questions are: can I somehow upgrade to 10 so that there is no error message and the serial or IMEI does not disappear (see YouTube "Install Android 10 LG V40 / Actualizar LG V40 Android 10" first post) or pass can NT code be written to an independent European model without root without any problems?

I've found that if I do a crossflash, then, don't make any changes to the device, shut it off, then do a refurbish with lgup using the same rom as the (part DL) crossflash, the 'NT Code' problem will go away.

You can try the Lenovo/Motorola Smart Assistant which can be found HERE , see if it will detect if there is an update.
You can also find out what software channel your in and download the official firmware from lolinet , then use the lenovo/motorola smart assistant to flash it if if the LMSA doesnt detect an available update. It will wipe your device FYI. I've personally never done it so not sure the exact steps, but it can be done.
I've also heard of people putting the firmware file on the root of an SD card, then checking for system update in settings and the device will pick up the update from SD.
There is also a script floating around in some of the other Android 10 threads which will flash the fw update downloaded from lolinet if the LMSA doesnt work for you.
hope this helps.

I see what your pointing out, that tab is for FAQ's, forums etc however. As the OP was looking for a way to check for an update on his device, that would be from the rescuetab, in which case the device WILL get detected, and an apporpirate rom will be made available for download (based upon model detected from the attached device).
I'm assuming the support page uses your IP or language settings to determine what is shown here, but for the OP's situation the support tab is irrelivant as he is just wanting to do the update to android 10 which will be possible regardless of geo-location/language settings via the aforementioned rescue tab.
