Hello,
I understand Moto g7 plus has already received an official Android 10 upgrade in different countries.
My device was not updated. I couldn't figure out how to manually get the official update.
Thanks!

You can try the Lenovo/Motorola Smart Assistant which can be found HERE , see if it will detect if there is an update.
You can also find out what software channel your in and download the official firmware from lolinet , then use the lenovo/motorola smart assistant to flash it if if the LMSA doesnt detect an available update. It will wipe your device FYI. I've personally never done it so not sure the exact steps, but it can be done.
I've also heard of people putting the firmware file on the root of an SD card, then checking for system update in settings and the device will pick up the update from SD.
There is also a script floating around in some of the other Android 10 threads which will flash the fw update downloaded from lolinet if the LMSA doesnt work for you.
hope this helps.

LMSA does not recognize the G7+ only the other G7 models. (G7 Power, G7 etc). Although you can do backups and use the other tools with it.

Okay, my apologies. I wasn't clear. When you go to the support tab and select "MOTO phone" Moto G7+ is not one of the G7 phones listed.

I see what your pointing out, that tab is for FAQ's, forums etc however. As the OP was looking for a way to check for an update on his device, that would be from the rescuetab, in which case the device WILL get detected, and an apporpirate rom will be made available for download (based upon model detected from the attached device).
I'm assuming the support page uses your IP or language settings to determine what is shown here, but for the OP's situation the support tab is irrelivant as he is just wanting to do the update to android 10 which will be possible regardless of geo-location/language settings via the aforementioned rescue tab.

So I used the rescue tab and it pulled up the correct Android 10 version for my phone. I flashed it and everything works great. Thank you for pointing , me in the right direction.

[Q] Can't update to v10h via Pc Suite or b2c (italy)?

Hi guys. I have a problem: v10h came out yesterday for the 4x but when i search for updates via Lg Pc Suite, B2C or FOTA it says i'm on the latest firmware, that i don't need to update. But I'm on 10f!! How can I solve this?
You probably have the "EUROPE OPEN" version of the phone. You can verify this by dialling 3845#*880# and then going to version info. Check what is noted below Factory Version. I have LGP880AT-00-V10f-EUR-XXX-AUG-17-2012
Notice the "EUR", that means "EUROPE OPEN".
Now if you check which firmware is the latest for EUROPE OPEN through LGMobile Support Tool -> Customer Support -> Supporting Model you will find out that LG still hasn't updated their servers to the latest firmware for 'europe open':

Not so sure about that...
How do you explain my LGP880AT-00-V10h-EUR-XXX-NOV-19-2012 ???
Its not in the official site as "Europe" but I update it by LG TOOL, even if the update was started thru "UpTestEX_mod2_marwin", it was a "normal web upgrade".

Hmm, the only 2 'official' ways to update the phone are through the LGMobile Support Tool or OTA as far as I know. Those 2 methods do probably simply check if there is newer firmware version available *matching* the specific installed country version, and since it is not there @ csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP880/ANEUBK/V10h_00/V10H_00.kdz it will not update.
Isn't the UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe tool used to flash complete kdz files? Blocking access to the LG servers, and force it to take whatever firmware you feed the the phone?
But why it afterwards says LGP880AT-00-V10h-EUR-XXX-NOV-19-2012, I don't know But all the country specific firmware versions seem to be of the same size and thus are probably exactly the same. Maybe it re-uses the EUR string in this case?

"UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe" when "normal web upgrade" is selected, runs "B2CAppSetup" that checks for the latest version.
Might be because once the phone was bought in Poland, it searched for the Polish version, that is European aswell... Italy is also European.
Makes me think that all countries (when unbranded phones) receive the Eurpen.
The "Original LG Firmware" created by "XDA Developers" also detects my latest available firmware as V10H... the search is based on the IMEI.
BTW, V10H for EUROPE OPEN is also out now:

[Q] Why hasn't the Android 5.0 update shown up for me?

If I check for updates, it says there are none. Has the update been officially released yet or is everyone "manually" installing it?
the update has been released official by sony, but it's rolling out slowly. For now the update showed up in nordic regions, but it should soon start rolling out in other regions. If you're impatient you can always flash the update manually. Search the forums to find out how to do it
Press Thanks if i helped you

Same here. I have bought the phone without any carrier attached and no update yet even though at least some other folks in my country seem to have it already.
Should we wait or we should do the manual update? With the manual update, do we have to unlock the bootloader? I would actually like to avoid unlocking or rooting.
Thanks for the replies. Guess I'll just wait some more.

no you dont have to unlock your bootloader. You install flashtool,device drivers and ftf file you wish to flash. There are great guides in forums, search for them how to do it
By the way, once the update is available through the phone's update feature, will it be possible to do a fresh install or is updating the only way?

You can do a factory reset after the update. That's equivalent to a clean install.

Thanks. How would go about doing a factory reset after the update? Sorry, I'm an Android noob as this is my first Android phone. Secondly, after the update to Android 5.0 will the recovery "partition" of the phone also get updated to Android 5.0 or will it stay at 4.4.4?
I guess they are doing a roll in insteaf of rollout. Im short to ditching sony

Rollouts take time with Android phone OEMs, the update must be tested and approved seperately for each region and mobile operator. Some regions and mobile operators can be very slow at this, unfortunately. Just be patient and don't obsess too much over it.
With non oem phones (international version not tied to carrier) is it still expected that I may not have an update yet or should I start worrying something is wrong and should start look at the manual update?

Non-carrier =/= non-OEM. Sony is an OEM
Is there where you do a factory reset? If I use this feature, the phone will be formatted and return to its original "shipped" state?

But doesn't that just reset options and delete your data? Or does it perform an actual reformat?

Verizon 5G S10 will not update firmware/security patches, is it because of current FW

The Firmware I am on is G977UVRU0ASDG
I tried to update OTA and update assistant for PC and both failed saying this firmware cannot be updated. So I am really confused. Can someone confirm any further info about this firmware version? I enjoy the phone and I decided one day to check why I haven't gotten Android 10, and thus this is where I am now.
Also is it as simple as flashing the latest firmware via odin? If so, which site offers a dependable VZW firmware I can try flashing? Can I keep my files or would I have to make a backup first, flash via odin, then restore (which I hate to do because setting up a new phone takes so much time).
But most importantly I am curious to know more about this firmware version and what it is! Seems like VZW doesn't think its theirs. Thank you in advance.
Smartswitch says SDG, what is SDG? Is there a simple refresh/fix so that I can get OTA updates? Please help!

I'm having similar issues with the same firmware. Did you ever find a way to update your phone? I bought mine on ebay, supposedly NIB, but it came in generic packaging and said "demo" on a sticker on the back of the phone.

Please help, I can't update android

Hello everyone!
First of all I want to apologize if this question been resolved( I didn't find).
My problem is that I have tencent edition 256/12 with WW firmware version 17.0823.2007.32 and it can't be updated. I know that in my situation it should be possible when downloading update from off web page and manually installing it. But it don't work(
I find video how to change firmware from CN to WW, but none of my PCs don't want see phone properly (in device manager it appear with exclamation mark).
Then I find information about unlocking boot loader, app been installed, couldn't unlock.
Then I read about EOM unlocking in developer settings, and there is no such menu.
After all this I hoping that someone can help me.
Best regards!

Unfortunately when I press unlock device only restarts and that's all, I saw info that it's ok and need to do this procedure 4times but it didn't help me. So I have no errors, even when I try to install update manually it only says "error try again"
There's no OEM unlock for this device under Developer options.
Ensure USB debugging is enabled.
Make sure you install correct drivers installed on your PC.
Use official Asus bootloader unlock tool.

Try using the Origin sdi tool to download those drivers , search on YouTube for a tutorial on Chris Titus Tech channel (sorry can't post any links)
Agree, sounds like a driver issue as device not being recognised, assuming you have followed all the other steps correctly.

Samsung blue download screen failed - interface bigger

Hello everyone,
Last week, I did something stupid. I was looking into updating my Samsung Galaxy S10 to Android 13, and for that, I had to perform a bootleg on my phone. Since I don't have enough knowledge about it, I followed a video tutorial. However, I don't think they explained everything correctly because I encountered an error while loading my phone. To fix this, I had to reinstall the firmware and then restart it. But after the restart, the Samsung interface and all my apps appeared much larger, which is extremely annoying. I have already tried going to the accessibility options and adjusting the icon grid, but it only helps with a small part of the interface. Can someone help me?
I know it's dumb to do this without enough knowledge, but I still wanted to give it a try.
What do you mean by "bootleg"?

I'm not sure how it is called I thought it called bootleg.
I got stuck in the blue Download screen for samsung s10.
It looked like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
After that I had to reinstall the firmware but I didn't find a firmware option for my country so I installed from a country nextdoor.
When I signed in to the phone the UI was waaay bigger than before.
You mean you installed a different CSC? As long as the firmware is for your model number, it should be fine. To change the UI size go into Display Settings.
What is the model number of your device? I can help you look for the latest firmware on SamMobile.

Yes other country but the right firmware. I already changed the display settings but that doesn't solve the problem. my interface in different apps is also way bigger.
My model number is: SM-G973F/DS
Country: Belgium
(but I installed from the Netherlands, but i think that is not the problem)

What should I do to get my old ui back should I do another firmware update to hopefully get my old interface back. I think it could have something to do with the android version?
Before I did the firmware manually I just had the stock phone with its automatic update. I see there are different android version for the samsung s10. with the firmware update I now have:
android: 12
One UI version: 4.1
