[Q] Is there any way to port HoneyComb or CM6 for our Galaxy Exhibit? - Samsung Galaxy Exhibit 4G

I think it could be possible if we get the source, and compile it with smartguy's kernal, we could get a build up and running, or maybe a version of CM6, just saying, I'm a fan of it and honeycomb eventhough it's slow.

Not likely, I don't think there is enough people that would use it.... Sorry

I knew that from the beginning, that's why I was asking. What about CM6? I know Tim is working on it for me, because I asked him if he could.

No answer? I just like it and I have never tested either on the Exhibit, and I figured if I asked someone about it I would get an answer.

There was no separate honeycomb source. It was merged into ICS source with comments. Honeycomb was tablet only ui. ICS combined tablet and phone ui. If you want
to try native tablet ui (not just launcher) try pacman rom. It has tablet ui for gapps.
Cm 6 was based on froyo and has less features than gingerbread. Ginger bread improved android a lot and made it modern and compititive mobile os. It improved memory management and newer apis. That is why many applications are 2.3 + Please Google if you want more details.
Windows phone is closed source os and legally requires license run on phone. That is why you will not see ports here on xda on non windows phone. On the other hand android being open source can you run on windows phone e.g. HTC HD 2.
Assuming you have been here for while and seeing your posts on porting and building from source I can only hope that op wasn't for trolling.

That explains alot.

If you like the look of Froyo, you could install the cm7 port i saw somewhere around here, and install this theme http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1014773 apparently it makes cm7 look just like Froyo.
Here's a Honeycomb theme for cm7 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=943423
---------- Post added at 07:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:46 PM ----------
Heres 3 honeycomb themes for CM10 (should also work on most JB roms here, Slimbean etc)

Theres no point of actually running froyo on honeycomb, just use a theme

Froyo just seems worthless sorry but it just does. Honeycomb actually could be possible. Honeycomb did have a phone ui. But who would actually go through all the effort?

How exactly do you plan to port it????? There's no source, it was merged to ICS, there is no "honeycomb branch" you could try and port, but our phone has a 480x800 screen, no honeycomb device had this low of a resolution

Miui Rom on the hero?

Okay I was bored and I was browsing YouTube and I saw this crazy Rom on higher end phones from China called Miui it combines ios with Android and it looked really nice and I was wondering if it would be possible for this Rom to be ported to the hero
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
pretty sure its being worked on...
The miui rom is only for hdpi arm7 devices I don't think it will be ported to the sprint cdma hero

I like the way the miui rom look even if it gets ported the miui rom would probably run slow on our hero

Yeah, it's not really going to happen Nobody is working on it, as it would run very poorly on the hero

bcnice20 is one of the MIUI devs for EVO, so if the images and everything get converted to mdpi, who knows. Maybe I'll end up having to put my foot in my mouth.

Okay so if this only requires a resizing of images. I have a relative that is a programmer and he said he could do it. Does it require more and if so, can you give me a guide pre-made so I don't waste your time and maybe we can get this Rom.

[APP] StayAwake - Keep Screen On While USB Is Connected

Handy (and free!) little app that allows users to keep their phone's screen on, while the USB cord/charger is connected.
I realize this is rapidly becoming a built-in feature on most of the ROMs currently being released, but those on older builds/stock ROMs may find it useful.
StayAwake Market Link: StayAwake
I personally know that this app will work with ComRom (but I believe this fix has been implemented in the latest version)
Note: (I did not develop this app. In no way do I take credit for it.)
That's a feature on stock roms too. Its in settings, applications, development.

Yeah, I know that most of the stock and Dev-released ROMs for our phones have this option, but when 2.2.1 was initially released it was missing this feature. Also, going forward there are bound to be WIP ROMs released that might not have this option built in during test/beta releases.
Thought it was worth a mention for those that value this feature (and also like to flash experimental/incomplete ROM builds)

Custom ROM breakthrough for Android?

So, been wondering for a while. When will the next big "Customized" ROM occur? We've already gotten MIUI and its pretty cool, but wouldn't you want to see something new? Something not based off of iOS or Android in general but still able to to run on Android? Something fresh, new, never before seen? I've no idea what it would look like or how it would run, but maybe you guys do? A "Wish list" if you will, the appearance, how it preforms (keep in mind Hardware limitations of various phones), etc.
I guess I can (dream) start:
-The next potential Cyanogenmod but appears nothing like your standard Android OS
-Running on ICS and JB?
Just bored and I wanna see what some people can come up with. Maybe if a talented developer or a group of them could come together to pull something off? (One can only imagine)

There's a limit to what a developer can do with the Android source code, especially with a biannual release schedule. I'm not sure there will be anything radically different any time soon. If Google switches to one major update a year it might be possible.
I've always thought ParanoidAndroid looked cool but never tried it. It's a tablet hybrid ROM for phone.

If you mean Sony's XCMB it probably won't happen. They aren't exactly fans of outside development.
Something like Windows phone? The UI I mean, its pretty "outside the box" a ROM that's "never before seen" A status bar that is accessible via swiping from the left or right? A Facebook friendly ROM? (Will never happen unless FB releases source code) Let your ideas flow!

[Q] Paranoid Android for i9305 ?!?

Heeey is there any one who knows if there's a porting on the way for Samsung Galaxy S III 4G / i9305 ?

According to this thread on Paranoid's forum it'll only come once CM has been ported to the 9305
Larrythecow has a working user build of cyanogenmod 10.1 with some major bugs but all 'round it's pretty good
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2084604
Once all the hardware problems have been fixed they just need to get the device tree, send it all off to Cyanogen then appoint a maintainer if im not mistaken

waiting for this
Xposed Framework
While we wait in anticipation :fingers-crossed:
Did you know you can install the Xposed Framework and set per app DPIs? It's very nice, works well. Similar end result to Paranoid in terms of per app DPI.
Xposed installer, settings apk and tips
Xposed How-to and Xposed mods and more here
I have most apps at 240DPI using Xposed. Then some, like the Play Store and Gmail in Phablet mode: 213DPI with 800x1280 setting. Apps display same as Paranoid with DPI changes. Very cool
i'll be getting my new i9305 these days, but now, after browsing the 9305 forums, i'm kinda dissapointed about my decision
there's no working AOSP rom for this device and i don't know if i can't live without PA as my daily rom, probably i'll just give it to my wife and i'll keep using my 9300 until the devs strat working on this device
but then i guess that the new S4 will be out until then and i'll have to update again...
As I mentioned above alpha cyanogen works pretty flawlessly bar calling which will hopefully be fixed soon (dev currently only has mobile internet connection)

When Alpha CM works with calling we'll most likely see a stream of new custom roms.. a long but worthwhile wait. I'd love nothing more than to see CM, PA and PACman on the i9305.
All work being done on CM for this rom is well appreciated! There's no doubting that.

I have try Mokee JB but Themer doesn't work.
You can install the app. but when you try to see themes it's write that our configuration isn't supported.
Maybe have we to do something else to do the thing work?
(HTC HD2 res. isn't supported too from what I have see on their support documentation)
Anyone got this working?
EDIT: I must be tired... just see now 480x800 is supported so should work with leo... still looking how to get the thing work

You should try ZeJsters Paranoid Android 2.57 [4.1.2]
It is the fastest you can have...
I know it has an older android version but it is very fast and smooth...
