Does nfc s beam work ? Can you View pics on note 2 - Galaxy Camera Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

On the galaxy note 2 there is a facility to take a pic and view it on another note 2 or s3 via s beam on the settings
Does the galaxy camera have NFC and s beam ?
It would be cracking if you could take a pic on the camera and automatically view it on the bigger note 2 screen
Any ideas ?
Thanks

No it does not have NFC (or S-Beam)
It does however have Wi-Fi Direct and it has a feature called SHARE SHOT which allows the photo to be displayed on another device instantly.

That might work at least samsung added a cool feature

Well, another samsung device anyway. I can't find the app on the play store to try it on my Nexus 7.

I don't think this is going to work. The camera AFAIK doesn't have an NFC chip

Hidden (kinda) Tiny Planet Feature!

I haven't seen this talked about too much. Did a search and nothing came up as well. But if you take a full 360 photosphere, you can make it into a Tiny Planet!
Instructions:
1. Open your camera and switch to Photosphere mode.
2. Using Photosphere, take a FULL 360 picture. You must hit EVERY spot possible.
3. Save the picture and allow it to render.
4. Open your gallery and tap on the picture. If you did it right, you will have the option to share to Google Maps (using the share icon) and also in the bottom right will be a button to turn it into a Tiny Planet, which opens up more options.

I asked about this in another thread. Apparently this was a early feature of photo sphere but got removed in final version. Let's hope we see it make a come back would be awesome!!

I'm running the latest OTA and it is there. But like I said, it has to be a FULL 360 photosphere. Meaning you need to get everyone single spot you can see. This will also allow you to upload your photosphere to Google Maps.
Ohh cool. Will try it out. Thanks

May be this video will help http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ls6MOyUpcg, specially the last minute or so.
Dude this is cool! Thanks!
I can't believe everyone with a Nexus doesn't know about this neat-o feature.. Seeing as it'd exclusive to your phone..

Looks cool.
Also if you take the photosphere and flip it 180° in the gallery editor, and before saving go to the last tab in the editor (the one with the +/-) the first option will be the tiny planet, but this time it would create an inverse tiny planet. The sky in the center and the surface on the outside. A little more difficult to create, but can look really cool.

AW: Has Anyone figured out how to use camera remote
You need Android 4.1.2 on GCam and Remote Viewfinder for GC out of the Play Store
Within your camera menu under share you have to enable remote viewfinder and then connect your android device to the cam via wlan and start the remote viewfinder.
And next time, please use the search function of the board.

Thank you for talking to me like a child re searching which I did however can I suggest you start to learn to reads people's threads properly before dishing out criticism
I am as stated not reffering to samsungs own app I know that inside out and have advised in various thread users on how to make it work
I am in fact referring to camera remote by busy www
I can not find the thread where it was mentioned despite searching from the mobile app but i do remember it only mentioned the app not how to use it hence my new thread
I don't think its compatible with the gc as it doesnt even connect on the website system

I got it to work a litte. I can't connect via Wi-Fi (but I think that's a NAT problem), I did get my Nexus 7 to connect via bluetooth and it sorta works for a while, but the app on the Camera dies as soon as I remotely take a picture.

As I mentioned in the other thread (I created yesterday), the unreleased beta of the app works much better with the GC.
He is adding video features to it right now and then will re-release it to the store I guess.
You install the same app on both devices and select camera or remote mode on the two devices. (or you use a web browser to control the camera device).
The thread was just a heads up that it has been fixed and will be re-released soon. It works quite well for me.
The author has not given me permission to post the beta here. Maybe send him an email and ask for the beta?
He was very friendly and helpful.

NFC Beam... Nexus 7 & Note 2

Has anyone had success in trying to beam photos from a Galaxy Note 2 to a Nexus 7? When I try to transfer a photo using NFC, my Nexus 7 will open the PlayStore and display file not found.
I also decided to download QuickPic on both devices and transfer pics. All it does it open the QuickPic app, still not transferring the photo.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 2
I have the same problem with my S3. I'm going to assume it's because one is Touchwiz based and the other ROM is not. I have successfully beamed pictures from my N7 to my S3 but not vice versa. WIFI Direct works good.
Touchwiz NFC uses Wifi Direct while AOSP NFC uses Bluetooth which is why they are not able to beam each other

I wish I would have tried it prior to updating my Nexus 7. I've upgraded to the latest 4.2.2 update.
Only success I've had so far is beaming web addresses using the Chrome browser app on both devices.

yup if you use nfc to send files with s-beam switched on it will only work when sending to another s-beam device, switching off s-beam uses the standard nfc sending route (bluetooth not wifidirect)

[Q] Galaxy Camera with an S3

Hi,
I have the galaxy camera and know there is an easy way to share photos? I am less interested in remote viewfinder but I would like to have images appear on the galaxy s3 as I take them on the camera... What is the best way to do that? I know there are several samsung apps in the play store but none of them were pairing the s3 and the galaxy camera??
Thanks in advance!
Sal
There is a share shot function on your cam, try using that, i think its under settings then share. connect your s3 and gcam using wifi direct, i did that with my note 10.1 and all the photos that I've taken with my gcam goes to my note 10.1.
Try that and let me know if it worked for you

Sphere Photo Viewer?

Is there a Gallery APK that I can side load on my S5 for PhotoSphere viewing? The default gallery just shows Spheres as Panos ....
Thanks
** Got it ** - I sideloaded the APK for gallery that was on XDA - Originally I just installed the Google Camera app from the Store - that didn't seem to include a gallery ...
The camera tha comes with the phone has a feature called Sorround Shot. Same thing as Photosphere. Just click on Mode, and scroll to the right to download, and download it from Samsung Apps.

I pitted surround shot against photosphere from Google camera in a quarry the other day... photosphere blew SS out of the water in pic quality.
